Sunrise Minturn - Review - Minturn - Vail - The Infatuation

"The town of Minturn is a seven-minute drive from Vail, and that’s where you’ll find Sunrise: an order-at-the-counter stop in the town’s small core with coffee drinks, smoothies, and brunch-style cocktails, along with breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, and housemade corn beef hash. There’s not that much seating in the cozy space, so ordering to-go is best, especially if you’re with a larger group." - Kim Fuller

Google
Saw a poor review of the vegan grilled cheese under these reviews so I felt i needed to post. My husband and I just visited Minturn for the first time recently and we LOVED Sunrise !!!! This place is such a gift to have in town with the vegan friendly options!! First day we both got smoothies (they get major points for using coconut milk/yogurt in all their smoothies to encourage dairy free eating) the smoothies were delicious. The next day following a hike, we split one order of the Raj, which was a delicious sweet potato/ bean/ avocado hash. Loved all the great nutrients and flavors from that, and then we balanced it out by both getting our own vegan grilled cheese thats on the menu. Let me just say these grilled cheeses were DIVINE! Not even exaggerating they were insane. I wish I had a Sunrise down the street from where I actually live full time. My husband could only produce compliment after compliment for this sandwich. We are both major foodies but have only been vegan the last couple years. Seriously the vegan grilled cheese is actually insane. I didnt know what to expect, but it blew expectation out of the water. Its made completely differently than any grilled cheese ive made at home or seen on a menu, and I mean that in the best way. Hopefully i can try to reverse engineer the deliciousness at home in the mean time until we return again. Also- the locally made Avon bakery bread the sandwich is made on? Delicious. Could taste the bread quality difference immediately. We dont even eat roasted red peppers, but they were perfect on this sandwich. To anyone whos not vegan- or has some strange aversion to plant based food- you are seriously missing out. I cook a lot at home so my restaurant expectations are high. The only time “vegan” food doesnt taste good is when its not prepared well. Similar to gluten free eating, if something is actually made well, it should never “taste” vegan or “taste” gluten free (as someone with a gf family member who also cooks a lot) Eating vegan is not a sacrifice, its just different ingredients. The chef at sunrise clearly knows what they are doing. On that note, the staff here are super kind and friendly. I did not catch the name of the person who took our orders, but she is wonderful. Also the bathroom was very nice and clean. Cant wait to return for these delicious plant based options! Try to arrive in the earlier half of the morning though, this spot is popular, it seemed that right after we arrived a massive wave of people came and seating was maxed out in no time !

We had a great lunch at Sunrise - I had the Reuben sandwich and my wife had a Greek gyro - all in all the lunch was delightful and we would come back and visit

Google
Sunrise Minturn is a very cozy little restaurant. When you picture a small mountain diner, you will see Sunrise. Staff was very friendly and food was delicious.

Google
My friend and I divided up avocado toast and Fresh toast orders. Tasty, but nothing extraordinary on all counts. The coffee was above average. You go up to counter and order, then your name is called. There’s a counter where you can sit. It’s a nice atmosphere to hang for a lingering breakfast. Very friendly service. Since I’m more about high quality coffee than breakfast food, I’d put Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea Roastery in Minturn, with their simple reheated breakfast burritos, just above this place - that’s where I’ll go when I stop back in Minturn :)

Google
Sunrise Minturn is an absolute gem! I had the French toast with fresh bananas and maple syrup, paired with hot cider served with a cinnamon stick—it was perfect for a chilly day. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made it a memorable visit. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Sunrise Minturn is a place you must visit!

Google
Being trying to get to this coffee for a while, they only open in the morning, so had been hard.... Honestly I'm glad I made it there, the place is GREAT, the place is super cool honestly, nice decorations and good vibes, the service is great even though it's like a one person does it all .... I tried couple of things like a Smoothie great balance there, Coffee....well you know me, coffee picky person, they do Great work there!! The Banana French Toast are AWESOME super rich flavor, nicely cooked.and the eggs even i was super full they where spectacular jajajjaa!! So make sure you go down to LOVELY MINTURN and pay a special visit to this great place!! I'll be coming in more often, for sure!!

Google
Best kept secret in the mountains, you’re gonna be here a while because the gal taking orders is the same gal that has to make the coffee, but the food is worth the wait… hearty, filling, and ample… Parking is tough so if you don’t mind walking then park off main and cruise on over.

Google
Food was tasty, but probably not worth the price. We ordered the bloody Marys, they arrived without garnish. When I asked if they were supposed to come with garnish, as it clearly states on the menu, I received a "...yeah. give me a minute." Gal taking our orders was not friendly or welcoming at all. As other reviews stated, it was as though she was annoyed we came in to spend $65 on breakfast on a Friday morning. We are vacationing in Vail, came over to check out the town of Minturn. If I did it over again, I'd probably cook breakfast in the apartment and skip this place.

Yelp
love everything about this place - food quality, friendliness of staff, and the rustic decor/artwork. sunrise is the definition of a local gem hash browns are crispy, eggs are fluffy, and the sourdough toast is buttery and delicious.

Mia C.

Yelp
I had a really runny burrito there...:( The eggs were watery and made the tortilla mush. It was an overpriced extra mushy gringo monstrosity. I really wanted to enjoy it but I had to throw it away.

Yelp
Great coffee. Friendly staff. The food needs a bit of work. The avocado toast is bland, with whipped avocados that have some brown specks. The breakfast burrito is huge but lacks flavor. Service is slow and inconsistent--they forgot our order and ran out of our first choice. I'd go back for a Latte, but I'd skip breakfast.

Addison G.

Yelp
So so yummy. We were in Avon for a couple nights and came to Minturn. This spot was perfect for a brunch in the mountains. Music and service was good. I got the breakfast bagel.

Yelp
Today we stopped in to get a latte and a tea. This was a very chill coffee shop with a cool interior. The barista was very friendly, and I was pleased to see that they had several gluten-free choices in their bakery items. My husband enjoyed his tea and his cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting. I really enjoyed my gluten-free berry muffin, which was excellent. The latte was a tad weak I thought, but the syrups were flavorful.

Yelp
Sunrise in Minturn is a very cute location. The staff was friendly though quite loud which concentrating on my work hard. I got the breakfast sandwich which was yummy but nothing special. The coffee was definitely not something I would get again. I typically finish my drinks but at this place I had to force myself to not throw it away from the beginning. Overall, I wasn't the biggest fan but I think that I can understand why people would go here as it is cute and cozy.

Yelp
One of my favorite cafes ever! Quality people, food, and music. The cinnamon roll here was the best I've ever had. Also had the burrito and corned beef hash. The food is pretty big and the quality is amazing. I loved my corned beef hash. Decor was cozy and comfy and the bathroom was clean. They also have a good selection of hot drinks and healthy smoothies. The town of Minturn is also adorable and a hidden gem. Highly recommend this wonderful cafe!

Yelp
Great sandwich Great latte Cozy environment Sweet and friendly staff Not expensive Special shoutout to the bread 8/10 would go again

Yelp
Apparently a locals hangout, underscored by the barefoot guy with a parrot, schmoozing with the patrons eating at the counter. The food was delicious, well prepared and with generous portions. They stayed busy all morning. We'd definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Loved Sunrise Minturn! Hubby was craving breakfast and I was craving a vegan sandwich, so we stumbled across this place and decided to give it a go. So glad we did! Great atmosphere, lots of friendly faces, and delicious food! It's located on a quaint street in a cute town right outside of Avon. Couldn't have picked a more perfect spot...highly recommend!

Yelp
A cute place to get coffee in the Vail valley. One of the more reasonable and down to earth coffee shops you'll be able to find in the area. Good community vibe.

Yelp
Such a cool little cafe in a tiny mountain town! We stopped in in our way up to Leadville and it was just what we wanted. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and a smoothie since they were sold out of orange juice. The smoothie and sandwich were both ready within 5-10 minutes and I loved them both. The sandwich was delicious were perfectly cooked, crispy bacon. I loved that the yolk was still runny and the locally sourced bread was so fresh. Parking was easy out front of the street, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the dining area was clean. I definitely recommend stopping by this cafe and enjoying the local small town vibe.

Laura W.

Yelp
What a cute and delicious spot! I had a latte with a breakfast of biscuits, gravy, and scrambled eggs. It was hot and so delicious. Both the front gal and cook greeted me and were friendly. How refreshing! This is a gem.

Yelp
This is a super cute place right on the main street of Minturn. We've been here a bunch of times and when we wake up on the weekends wondering who should make breakfast, the answer is usually Sunrise. We got street parking and were a little concerned how full it was when we walked in, but we managed to grab a high top table. There aren't many tables, maybe 10? so you may have to prepare to wait a bit. We've had nearly everything on the menu and trust me when I say it's all good. Of course with he disclaimer that if you don't like certain foods, don't get it. My go-to is Lou's Scramble: Spinach, Mushrooms, Onions, Tomato, Avocado, Hash browns. You can add Green chili or Bacon too. I think it's fine on its own, but bacon... The decor is pretty cool and they incorporate some local touches with some railroady things though I'm not sure what they are called. They also sell Color coffee and stickers. Everyone always needs more stickers.

Yelp
We got takeout of a biscuit breakfast sandwich, a cinnamon roll, biscuits and gravy, and a coffee. Overall the food was okay. The cinnamon roll, which I was most excited for, was the driest thing I have ever consumed. The rest of the food was just okay at best.
google avatar

Drew A.

Yelp
Great food and drinks, nice staff, best little cafe in the valley in my opinion! I liked to grab a drink while I went around the farmers market across the street.
google avatar

Leah M.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. Cute little area to relax and grab coffee with breakfast. I ordered the avocado toast and a latte. The coffee was good. On the avocado toast, I asked for them to make the eggs hard boiled. The eggs came out yolky. The avocado toast was extremely salty.
google avatar

Gordon E.

Yelp
Meh. Burritos looked good but I had the corned beef hash. It was just hash browns with thin strips of some type of meat. Canned would have been better. Limited seating. Granola atmosphere.
google avatar

Lisandra R.

Yelp
Small spot serving breakfast and lunch in Minturn Colorado. Stopped by for coffee and pastry and the banana break was soft and delicious! Will be back for breakfast or lunch next time I am in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
This cozy little spot in Minturn is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Great service and inviting atmosphere! The food was great, the coffee was almost great Pictured is the breakfast burrito

Yelp
This was a cute little breakfast/lunch spot in downtown Minturn. We did the quick drive over from vail. I loved the atmosphere inside the space. It was cute and cozy. There were lots of locals and families inside on a Monday morning. It was a bit of a wait for the food but it was more than worth it. It was so good. My 6 year old already asked if we can go back later in the week!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food and service, great place and friendly people it's a good town and stop I got the breakfast sandwich yes it all took a little bit to come out but the food was magnificent if it's definitely worth the stop
google avatar

Yelp
Like other reviewers, we always make a point to get breakfast at Sunrise when we visit the Valley in the summer from out of state. This time we ordered Lou's Scramble (my favorite), the Classic, a smoothie, cinnamon roll and coffee. Great food, good service and we enjoyed a table out front. Already looking forward to our next visit.
google avatar

Yelp
My family and I have been stopping at Sunrise (formerly Sticky Fingers) for some years now and have never once had a bad experience. It's so good that we make it a point to get breakfast here at least once whenever we're vacationing in the Vail Valley. And, since it's only 15 minutes away from Beavercreek and Vail, we're able to swing by in the morning and still get back before the slopes open. I live in Philadelphia and only make it out to this area once a year, if I'm lucky. However, the breakfast burrito is so damn good that I actually think about it year round. I dream about this burrito. When I'm eating other burritos, I'm really thinking about this burrito... Whenever I visit I fear I'd been spending the last year hyping up this burrito and that it can't possibly live up to my far-flung expectations, but, thankfully, it does every time. Until next year!

Yelp
Wanted a breakfast spot and the place I was headed to was closed so I was looking for another place and found this little hidden gem! I got the corned beef hash and it was very good. I think I found another little mom and pop place to frequent!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast stop! Awesome breakfast sandwich (runny yolks), awesome coffee, awesome service, awesome prices.

Nancy E.

Yelp
Sunrise was a delightful discovery in Minturn. The food was delicious, and the person who waited on us was very friendly. Great experience!
google avatar

Todd M.

Yelp
Busy place on a Saturday morning but we hit it just right and were able to order at the register quickly. I ordered b's & g, it was average, needed better/more sausage, I would recommend Boulder Sausage. The wife ordered a GF muffin but didn't really eat it as it was very under baked. Coffee and chai tea were fine.
google avatar

Olivia L.

Yelp
This such a cute little breakfast spot in Minturn! I loved the retro decor. I got a basic breakfast sandwich and it was good but could have used some avocado or tomato to make it a little juicier. The bun was super good. The place is very small so if it's busy you may not find a spot to sit.

conni b.

Yelp
good food and great service easy to find with easy on/off highway access would recommend the rubben sandwich
google avatar

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
I stopped in and enjoyed breakfast at one of the cute two seater tables on the sidewalk out front. I enjoyed a latte and avocado toast. I camped nearby and couldn't help but stop into this cute little town on my way to Vail. A real hidden gem. Enjoy a walk along the river, checkout the shops along this Main Street, and definitely stop in for coffee, tea, or food to go. The avocado toast was the perfect portion to keep me fueled, even for a full day of mountain biking. I look forward to stopping by for more of this delicious food and charming atmosphere the next time I'm passing through.

Yelp
Our favorite place to brunch + grab a delicious coffee! The best breakfast in The Valley.
google avatar

Brandon K.

Yelp
We were traveling through and wanted to stop and grab some breakfast, we decided on this little coffee shop and are glad we did. We ordered a mocha coffee and the breakfast burrito which has chorizo, hashbrowns, black beans, eggs, cheddar, salsa and smothered in pork chili and let me tell ya it was spectacular! I also recommend a heavy dose of the Sendy sauce that was on the table. Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Erin P.

Yelp
Great smoothies and all the options looked delicious. Quaint and funky. Perfect stop to start the morning!

Hugo R.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING! ... Enough said... Highly recommend, As a breakfast, brunch guy, it has become my go to place.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was great! I loved the taste of their Mango Tango smoothie, and my mom absolutely loved her french toast! The service was fast, and the music was upbeat. We will come back, and definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Diane P.

Yelp
This little eatery was lovely. We ate breakfast here several times during our stay in Minturn. My kids loved the French toast and are now searching the east coast for something comparable. The avocado toast was also delicious. The service was good and friendly too.
google avatar

Maila L.

Yelp
Small and cute. The staff was very friendly and fast. We didn't have to wait long for our food, even though they were swamped. I'd come here again.
google avatar

Christa R.

Yelp
The cutest, healthy, fast casual cafe. Walked in mid-morning on a Saturday and there was it was lively but we were able to grab a 6 top table. The service was friendly, the place was clean and the menu has something for everyone. The breakfast burrito is massive and packed full with all the good stuff, then smothered. The scramble was loaded with veggies, potatoes, avocado and eggs so kept me full for hours. The avocado toast was beautiful presented and equally has delicious. Matcha latte, vanilla latte and a cold brew all made it to the table top for a great caffeine boost. This place is worth stopping in or even going out of your way for a quick bite to eat. Excited to head back to try the lunch menu!
google avatar

Rachel P.

Yelp
Vegan grilled cheese all day! Everyday. It's so good I can't wait to get back and eat another one. Everything here is so good. Smoothies and cold brew also delicious.

Sean B.

Yelp
Cute little place in Minturn. Hopes were high. The kitchen somehow lost are breakfast order. Asked the gentleman that took our money if they had forgotten about us, and sure enough they had. No offer of compensation of any sort. Been here an hour and half and still no food while others are getting their food. Pretty ridiculous.

Marissa M.

Yelp
Vegan review: so many options for breakfast and lunch! I had the vegan grilled cheese and although not traditional, it was so flavorful and I would highly recommend!

Susanne N.

Yelp
We loved this place for coffee and especially their breakfast burritos! They serve the burrito on a plate with yummy chili.

Gretchen A.

Yelp
Busy Sunday and the service is ultra slow. Waited over 10 minutes for coffee. Coffee gone before our food was ready. Staff could care less about poor service. The place has a terrible smell.
google avatar

Monica W.

Yelp
An absolute must! Everything was fresh and delicious! Breakfast burritos, biscuits, Monte Cristo, corn beef hash...I could go on and on. Don't miss it on your way in or out of the area.

Lacy B.

Yelp
We ordered the breakfast sandwich, the breakfast burrito, the chocolate chip cookie, the cinnamon roll and the Sunrise smoothie, and all were delightful. Best cinnamon roll I've ever had! Thanks for the wonderful experience :)

David A.

Yelp
Impressed! Only two people working and service was great, food perfectly timed and delicious. I am a picky breakfast patron and 100% will eat here again without hesitation.
google avatar

Donna G.

Yelp
Breakfast was excellent. You have to order at the counter and serve yourself but it was worth it. The chai tea latte was the beat I have ever had and I am a huge chai tea drinker. I not only would eat there again but I would recommend this little gem to others.

Yelp
Yummy, friendly, quaint. Yelp wants me to write more, but this sums it up. Okay, they still want me to write more, so from this point on it's just a waste of my time and I'm going to post gibberish. Hssnsndjsizhsu sisnsudnei susjebeu shdjebeushag ahh fixie djdjebusha susnsiwbsismorning xbsid e x
