A Breezy Daytime Dining Destination Opens in Agoura Hills | Eater LA

"A light-filled cafe, market, and all-day restaurant opened today, October 24, in Agoura Hills at Whizin Market Square (5046 Cornell Road) with daily hours from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Founded by Marc and Carie Hernandez (formerly of Brent’s Deli), the versatile spot offers a wide menu of drinks—including coffee, cocktails, juices, teas, non-alcoholic drinks, and wine—alongside breakfast favorites, Roman-style flatbreads, and pan-Californian dishes such as crispy pork belly sandwiches and curry buttermilk fried chicken. Former Tartine and Blue Bottle Coffee chef Scott Boggs serves as culinary director while chef de cuisine Travon Oliver runs the kitchen day-to-day. The sleek, wood-paneled interior was designed by Studio Paul Chan with a “wabi meets California” approach that blends imperfection, texture, and laid-back beach warmth, and an interesting service note is that 100 percent of the tips are pooled and distributed among Sunrose team members." - Matthew Kang

Was in the area for two days, went to Sunrose both mornings for breakfast. I liked my egg white omelet. I also tried the Patatas Bravas and the steak and eggs as well. The Patatas were probably my favorite things. I loved my rosemary late, the place has a good ambiance.

Google
I absolutely love this spot, every time me and my family are in the area we always make a stop. The food is incredible and they have the nicest people on staff! The interior and the vibe really add to the way it all feels, its very very cozy. It's a spot you can go to at anytime and its beautiful and highly enjoyable all the way around! Every single time without fail I'm ordering the miso chicken salad and the sausage & shrooms flatbread..j'adore..never fails xxx

Google
Loved this place. Such a wonderful find on my trip to Westlake. I ordered the egg white omelet with squash blossoms. It tasted delicious and looked so pretty. And when i asked for salt it was brought on a little side dish with a joyful note. (See pic) I also ordered the Tequila Sunrose....it delicious and very pretty! This place takes the time to do the little extra that makes such a wonderful difference. If I am back in this area, I will undoubtedly come back. Service was also wonderful. Great way to have started my day and week. Thank you 😊

Google
I was looking for a local spot after photographing a wedding near by and thank to google this eatery came up and once i walked in I imitating loved the interior design and the atmosphere of this place. Started off with a Paper plane martini and the chopped steak tartar, both flavorful picks! As my main plate Hanger steak chimichiri side of fries & salad. The steak of course was medium rare & damn it was good! I definitely recommend eating here.

Google
Incredible restaurant! We went for brunch and loved every single thing we ordered. Owned by a wonderful phish fan who treated us like family. Can’t wait to go back and try more

Google
I typically don’t visit the same restaurant more than once—I like to savor a good experience and leave it at that. But Sunrose delivered day after day. I went three days in a row while on a work trip, and each visit was just as enjoyable as the last. The service was exceptional, and the management was kind enough to let me stay for several hours while I worked. I tried a few different things over the course of my visits—the breakfast burrito, smoked salmon flatbread, and a few lattes—and everything was consistently flavourful and well-prepared. Can’t recommend it enough.

Google
Absolutely delicious. The other reviews are right. Due to the jet lag having steak and eggs for breakfast felt more like lunch so I had no problem ordering it. It was great. I highly recommend Sunrose.

Google
This vibrant café serves up a fresh and flavorful breakfast with standout dishes like a stuffed egg white omelet, creamy avocado toast, and perfectly crispy patatas bravas. The lavender latte with almond milk is smooth and fragrant, the perfect pairing for a relaxed morning after a 2 mile hike. Great food, friendly service, and a warm vibe—definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Sundays are for Girls Brunch :) Always happy to make it back to Sunrose California Eatery in Agoura Hills for some sunshine, warm service, and stellar bites. I've been a fan of Sunrose since I checked them out awhile back for a Yelp event and happy that I was able to bring my foodie friend Jess B. with me for some much needed bevs and table side yapping. Always impressed by Sunrose's aesthetic and decor throughout the restaurant. It's a fun and inviting spot, which my friend mentioned is also the perfect place to host a party as they have a lovely glass enclosed patio area. Will be keeping this in mind. Per usual, we were absolutely blown away by the service today. The staff here are so friendly and always give the best recommendations. Major shoutout to Natalie and Mariah who worked our table today - these gals are a ray of sunshine and created all of the feel good vibes that we needed. Natalie gave us fabulous recommendations for cocktails, mains, and posh meal coffees. Here's what I had (and would absolutely order again): Sunrose Martini - A power punch of a drink, small and dainty in appearance but strong. A feminine martini with gin and the right ratio of honey and raspberry. Dutch Baby Pancake - If you've never had a Dutch baby it's the world's best and flattest pancake style bite you'll ever taste. Thin dough with a light crispy crust. The homemade vanilla, bean whipped cream and fresh fruit made this dish a 10/10. I'm usually more of a savory breakfast person, but this dish is a must and we were told it is a super popular dish here. Extra Crispy Bacon- just do it! Pro Tip: I always trust judgement when it comes to Match and she said Sunrose's in a winner. She described the matcha as perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and refreshing. Will need to try this next time.

Yelp
~ BRIGHT, BEAUTIFUL, AND BRUNCH-PERFECT, SUNROSE IS THAT GORL ~ Sunrose California Eatery is officially my new go-to brunch spot, and honestly, it's perfect for anything from a cozy coffee date to a big group celebration. I'm definitely planning a birthday brunch with the girls for my next visit! First off, the vibe here is *chef's kiss*; clean, modern, airy, and just so pretty. Think light, neutral tones with plenty of natural light, plus a separate coffee + pastry counter if you're just popping in on the go. Food-wise, everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Dutch baby pancake with chantilly cream was next-level. The pancake had perfectly "burnt" ends and a soft pillowy middle. The breakfast burrito was savory, filling, and met all of my expectations, including the grilled tortilla. Lastly, the side of bacon we had was the crispiest we've ever had and it was amazing. For drinks, I really enjoyed my matcha latte (they use real ceremonial matcha, y'all!) and the tequila sunrose was really tasty. A special shoutout to Natalie and Mariah for being so friendly and attentive, they made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming and seems like Sunrose hire just genuinely lovely people.

Yelp
Sunrose has become our go to breakfast spot. We come here often with our two kids and it always hits the mark. The food is consistently great, we love the B.A.B., the steak and eggs, the omelettes, and the lavender latte is something I look forward to every time. You can tell they use really fresh, high quality ingredients because everything just tastes better than anywhere else we've tried. The atmosphere is another reason we keep coming back. It is calm, welcoming, and never feels rushed. Even with kids, we always feel comfortable and taken care of. The staff is friendly without being overbearing, and the whole place just has a great vibe. We have tried a lot of breakfast places, but nothing really compares to Sunrose. It is a place we genuinely enjoy going to as a family.

Yelp
Great lunch spot in Agoura Hills! There's parking out front and it's located within a small outdoor shopping plaza. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance and incredible service. The staff is so genuinely kind here. We sat in the outdoor patio which was comfortable, they even had blankets outside in case you get cold (though it's super hot this time of year!). I ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk. It was delicious! For lunch, I ordered the miso chicken salad. It was a huge portion and was super delicious. I would definitely recommend it and would order it again. Great spot!

Yelp
I've already left a review about this place before, but honestly, it feels too special not to come back and say it again. The food and the service are just spot-on in every way. You know that feeling when a place just clicks with you from the very first visit? That's exactly what this is for me. So, if this counts as my "update review," then so be it -- but I'm sticking to my story and once again giving this spot a solid 5 stars. (What can I say... some habits are worth keeping!)

Yelp
Sunrose California Eatery was everything! So glad I finally made it out here because I will be here more often. Just the ambience alone.... 10/10. I loved how light airy and modern it felt. It was a perfect place to grab brunch on a nice sunny day. For drinks, absolutely loved the Elderflower Spritz and The Night Is Young, which is a watermelon cocktail. It was so good, highly recommend those two drinks. The Patatas Bravas and the Sausage and Shrooms flatbread pizza are just two perfect appetizers. The potatoes had such an amazing flavor combo with savory, sweet, and cheese! The pizza just complimented the potatoes so well. All I know is, Sunrose will see me again. Thank you!

Yelp
I love coming to this spot. It's such a cute restaurant. I love how they have a separate area for coffee and pastries if you are on the go. The owners are so sweet. The workers are very sweet. Their coffee is really good and I always want more but I know I can't. The times I have come were for breakfast. I have tried a variety of foods from their breakfast menu and they did not disappoint. I have tried their dutch baby pancake, French toast, ricotta toast, and a couple of their pastries. I have enjoyed everything. Overall, I recommend this place to all my family members who are nearby or willing to drive. I know it's time for my husband and I to go again.

Yelp
Sunrose is gorgeous! A stunning space with indoor, outdoor, patio, and bar seating. Located in the fab Whizin Market Square. Service is also spectacular. Our servers were so nice and I really enjoyed the easy going flow. I never felt rushed. I got an oat milk latte, vegan caesar salad, and daisy rose (margherita) flatbread. Everything was pretty good! No ranch for the flatbread, heartbreak ;) I really want to come back for a weekend brunch. Seems like it would be a great time and the breakfast menu looked yum. They have wifi but we could never successfully get on it. Even though there is a big parking lot (on both sides of the restaurant) it still can be hard to find, but hey, it's free! Overall - cute!!

Yelp
Such a cute place! I loved how bright and open the inside of the restaurant was and there was plenty of seating; including bar seating and outside seating. I saw at the bar and got a coffee and the bartender who was helping me was so kind. I think there was some confusion about the coffee orders being picked up from the coffee side of the restaurant and brought to the bar side, so my coffee was maybe not as warm as it was when it was made fresh. But the latte I had was still so good! There are lots of food options on the menu, even for your veg friends! My friend and I ordered a couple salads and a flatbread to share. I got the kale dinosaur salad with grilled chicken and it was delicious! However I was munching away and chomped right into a tiny piece of chicken bone which was unpleasant. I loved the flatbread crust, but the cheese on the Daisy Rose flatbread was a little heavy for me. My friend got the vegan Ceasar salad and she liked it a lot! I would totally come back here for breakfast or brunch! The bar was so cute I would love to try one of her cocktails. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Sunrose is my favorite local brunch spot in town. Between the chill vibes, awesome drinks, and delicious food, it doesn't get much better than this place. Starting with the drinks, The Day is Young is a perfectly balanced bourbon cocktail with watermelon, lemon, and a tajin rim. The drink isn't overly fruity and is so tasty. For food I had the steak and eggs. I violated my rule of never ordering steak at a non-steakhouse, and I'm glad I did. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. It came with two sunny side up eggs and some crispy breakfast potatoes. Absolutely wonderful dish. Oh, and the servers were super friendly and helpful. I can't wait to come back next weekend.

Yelp
Came here with some friends after the Great Race of Agoura hills for some delicious food! The restaurant has a lot of seating inside and out. They have a sun room with seating and a bar counter as well. The staff and service was very good! All were helpful and inviting. The owner is a fantastic gentleman whom we met during a Yelp event. We ordered the Crispy Pork belly sandwich, Brioche French toast, breakfast burrito and Mimosa flight. The crispy pork sandwich was very good, crispy and tender. The Brioche French toast was delicious as well with thick cut toast and fresh fruit. The burrito was tasty and delicate. Overall, a great experience! Be sure to come early because this place gets pretty busy for breakfast and brunch. They have their own parking lot and there is also some street parking . Come and enjoy this place. Happy Nom Nom!

Yelp
Really cool space and the menu is really nice! Most importantly, the dogs are allowed. The actual rating for this year would be 4.5 stars because the service is OK, the food came out and the order other than requested but again, the Dog! factory makes it all worth it. Five stars!
google avatar

Cori T.

Yelp
This eatery is absolutely divine. Located in a beautiful outdoor shopping center, the restaurant decor was warm, inviting and elevated. I bring my dog everywhere and the outdoor space was perfect for us to enjoy brunch. Our waitress was wonderful, even though she was very busy, everything was paced perfectly. Let me start by saying these are the most well balanced, natural tasting brunch cocktails I have had. Not too sweet, all were unique and the raspberry martini was prepared with their housemade raspberry jam and was to die for. I also had the spritzer which was light and refreshing. The food was delicious! I am a very simple egg white omelette girl so I was skeptical of the squash blossoms on top but not only were they visually gorgeous, they added a lot of flavor to the omelette. Light, fluffy, cooked to perfection omelette accompanied by delicious potatoes. I truly appreciated the thought that went into my breakfast. I also tried what is my new favorite pizza with smoked salmon, crème fresh, arugula, pickled onion and capers. I loved this so much and what a great alternative to smoked salmon on top of a bagel. This was the perfect brunch dish! My experience at Sunrose was wonderful and made me definitely want to come and try their dinner menu.

Yelp
!!!!They don't take cash !!!!!! Only if you have exact change which they informed me after I complained and said that's against the law. I know more places are getting away from cash but was a disappointment wish I knew in advance! Food was good Service was nice the manager gave us a pastry to try to see our thoughts We tried several different dishes and shared Ambiance is beautiful
google avatar

Olivia U.

Yelp
Service was excellent, the menu was too small to read and poorly printed. The savory food was good. The omelette was well seasoned, the potatoes could've used more seasoning. Would maybe try something else. My husband loved the Dutch baby pancake - the one edge piece I had was burnt. Would come and try something else at least once more.

Yelp
I met my middle son at the Sunrose for Sunday brunch. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating which was very nice. We were seated inside and met by our server immediately. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. All in all it was an exceptional experience.

Yelp
The decor of Sunrose Eatery has light and airy vibes with beautiful natural tones. Light colored wood panels, beige, white, brown color waves illuminate the space. With subtle pops of color. The sun room seating is perfect for any day. Today was a bit overcast with light rain, it felt as though we were in the city, looking out the windows. The bar area is warm, welcoming, and eye-pleasing. There is a lounge seating area directly in front of the bar which has great energy. Looks like this can be a fun spot for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. Let the cocktails and champs flow! The Egg White Omelette called my attention with its description. Roasted summer squash, Creamy Goat Cheese, Squash Blossoms, Soft Herbs, Crispy Potatoes. This omelette is truly a work of art. The squash blossoms decorate the contrast of egg whites like an acrylic painting on a white canvas. The Sunrose Salad was a generous portion, enough for two meals. Mixed Greens, Asian pears, Goat cheese, Candied pecans, Garlic vinaigrette. The service was friendly, prompt, and pleasant. I'm definitely adding this into the lunch rotation. Also curious to try out their new dinner menu options. Sunrose has put a smile on my face!

Yelp
First and foremost, I'll have to come back here again since we arrived around 4pm, so we ended up in between their Breakfast/Lunch menu and Dinner menu, and instead got their Golden Hour Menu which is a truncated menu with mostly Small Plates. With what is available, we chose the Patata Bravas - Japanese Sweet potatoes - and Sicilian Flatbread. The Patata Brava is the more complex of the two dishes, with Crispy Japanese Sweet potatoes, Aleppo honey, Fresno chilli, whipped ricotta, and pistachio dukkah. This is a very nice, layered fairly sweet dish that can play almost like a semi-appetizer or dessert. It can be a bit thick but it's worth swirling and mixing around the ingredients with every cut of Japanese Sweet potato to experience all the flavors. I would give it a 4 out of 5. The Roman-style Sicilian Flatbread is more straightforward in terms of taste and presentation. A nicer pizza, even. This consists of spicy Italian salami, pork fennel sausage, mozzarella, manchego, tomato sauce, soft herbs, and basil. They all work pretty well together to give it a good dish, but largely not too memorable. It's a 3.5 out of 5. The ambience is nice, bright, and cozy, and the Americano is pretty good. This feels like a place that may do better as a breakfast or brunch spot, but I do want to try both their breakfasts and dinner menu. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Clockwise from left: Dutch baby with berries and vanilla whipped cream 10/10 I will always get this dish. Steak (6oz I think) and Eggs very flavorful and well seasoned, they got medium rare down perfectly, an elevated steak & eggs for sure. Hot coffee with cream & sugar. We really should have gotten one of their artisanal coffees they have on the menu - next time! Tap water. Avocado toast was so loaded up and flavorful, would definitely get this again! Hibiscus lemonade was tropical & refreshing! Service was quick, attentive and kind! I'm glad we picked seating inside the atrium, it's so tranquil!
google avatar

Yelp
This is such a cute place! We came here for brunch and everything was amazing. I ordered the Miso salmon salad along with the matcha oat honey latte. They were all delicious! I would recommend making reservations as they can get busy during the weekend. Parking was a bit hard near the entrance, but there is another large lot on the other side.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a good brunch spot, and Sunrose California Eatery absolutely delivers. The atmosphere is modern and chic, and I love eating at their spacious outdoor patio. I went with the breakfast burrito with bacon and extra crispy potatoes, and wow -- what a win. Packed with flavor and the bacon was crispy, the way it should be. Service was an A+. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive and happy to be there! I couldn't resist their brown butter chocolate chip cookie with a gooey Valhrona chocolate fève in the center, topped with flaky sea salt! One of the best cookies I've had. With a terrific atmosphere, wonderful food, and service that makes you feel right at home, Sunrose is a must. Next on my list: their flatbreads, salads, and of course, another cookie (or two). Can't wait!

Yelp
Awesome place for Breakfast, even though it's pricey. Whether your eating in or taking out the quality of their food is spot on.
google avatar

Rebeca A.

Yelp
Service was ok, our server (Jessica W.) was not as friendly with us as she was with her other tables around us, we heard her give everyone the same welcoming speech around us. Asking if they had been there before how they were, until she got to our table. She was dry never asked if we had been there before or if we had questions, but we didn't let it affect our breakfast or our mood and I am glad we didn't because the food was amazing and the restaurant ambiance was very warm and cozy. We ordered egg white omelette, avocado toast and a Dutch baby. Everything was seasoned well, fresh and tasted delicious.
google avatar

Jeannie N.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch on a Sunday - staff was able to seat all 12+ of us together between two tables. Looks like Sunrose is part of a market area, so you should be able to park in the back if there's no parking at the front entrance. The vibes of the restaurant were super cute, really liked the decor. We all ordered an entree and a drink. I got the Dutch Baby Pancake and an Iced Honey Oat Matcha Latte. The Dutch Baby Pancake is worth it if you're a pancake fan. You can put all the fruits, whipped chantilly cream, and syrup on the pancake and roll it up. Their whipped cream as delicious. The matcha latte was good too, nice strong matcha taste. Would definitely come here again for brunch.

Yelp
Visited 12/26/2024 Breakfast Place. Not a great selection on the menus. Great Fresh Brew Coffee. Very Friendly Staff Food good but not great. Eggs were good and Sausage was Tasty with a hint of spice. Sadly what they call Crispy Potatoes we're just Soft Soggy Baked Potatoes with no flavor and absolutely no Crispy. Prices a little overpriced for everything. Breakfast for two sadly with tax and Tip over $75.00 Won't be returning.

Yelp
This is a great spot in Agoura Hills, which is perfect for stopping on the way to somewhere if you're travelling up from LA. We have been twice, once in the day and once in the evening, and neither times disappointed. For brunch, it can get busy so I would recommend booking a table. There is a gorgeous outside area in a breezy structure as well as inside tables. The menu is well developed, offering usual brunch fare as well as some Mediterranean inspired options. I had the hummus plate and it was absolutely delicious. Everything felt well thought through and well presented. We returned on a Saturday night and were able to sit inside. There is a cosy area at the back where there are sofas and comfy chairs by the bar. We sat in this space and found the lighting, music and ambiance perfect for some reading and relaxing. The bar offers a range of wines, cocktails and beers which accompany a nice evening well, and some of the menu is perfect for picking at when you're reading. We shared a flatbread and they're large, but very tasty and perfect to share. I would love to return to try their sit down dinner menu. A final note on the staff: we were treated so well and it was clear that everyone who worked there was kind and professional. Our waitress on Saturday night, in particular, engaged with us and asked us questions but knew when to let us read (much appreciated). She told us about how the eatery is an independent spot and that made us even more grateful that it's there and that we can support it. I hope to see her again when we visit again. A lovely independent spot well worth visiting.

Yelp
Yum! As a big brunch girl, I've experienced more than my fair share of overpriced IHOP-ish brunch places. Sunrose is a gem in the Agoura Hills area. My bf and I arrived on a Sunday morning, and the place was already pretty busy. Parking is limited - that's the biggest downside. However, I was lucky and managed to snag a spot. We did not have a reservation, but we were seated in less than 5 minutes. The inside of the restaurant is simply decorated, with a lot of plants to brighten up the atmosphere. For drinks, my bf ordered an iced lavender latte and I ordered a hot masala chai. Both were decent. I really liked the presentation. For the entrees, we shared the Steak & Eggs and the Brioche French Toast. Both entrees were fantastic, and they really hit the spot for me! The steak, which I ordered medium rare, was delicious and paired well with the eggs and potatoes. The French Toast was perfect, not too sweet, and I loved the whipped topping that it came with. I would definitely come back to try the other brunch items! Sunrose is one of my favorite local eateries in the aea.

Yelp
Sunrose California Eatery is a beautiful space with plenty of natural lighting. There's ample parking with two different parking lots outside. For the food: Sunrose has modern California fare with brunch, flatbreads and fusion entrees. The curry buttermilk fried chicken is crispy and fragrant. It pairs well with the tzatziki and cucumbers. I'd recommend ordering family-style to try more options.
google avatar

Kelsey K.

Yelp
I really loved the warmly bright dining area. It's beautifully decorated with a mid-century modern feel. Cozy couch corner giving a causal hang-out vibe as well. We sat at the bar for a quick bite and a bloody. Plenty of parking in the lot out front. Omg the food was amazing!! The potatoes were so dang good! Just perfectly crispy and fresh. Loved the mini chives sprinkled over my fluffy scrambled eggs. The house-made jam was a standout and I highly recommend getting some of this with whatever you're having! My hubby loved his pork belly sandwich. We also both loved the fresh bloody Mary's (which is what we actually came here for). I really want to point out our wonderful service! I believe it was the co-founder Marc(?) who came and spoke with us. He even recommended some local hikes (which we did do the hikes!) That means a lot to visiting tourists like us and we appreciated that personal connection. If you're in the area definitely visit here for a delicious breakfast, brunch, or dinner.

Yelp
Sunrose was a great find. Their indoor-outdoor space feels like a retreat. Also dog friendly - we had lots of fun petting the pups that walked by. Our server recommended the egg white omelet, which I got and was completely delighted with. They put the correct amount of goat cheese in to add flavor without being a cheese bomb. And the way they incorporate the squash blossom is visually stunning - shows their care for detail. My friend got the Sunrose breakfast (egg plate) and it was anything but basic. We also got two rounds of coffee because we HAD to try both the rosemary latte and the lavender latte - so so so good! Feedback-wise, they serve their hot drinks in glasses that don't have a handle so they were too hot to handle until they cooled a bit. We wrapped our napkins around them because we were impatient but that seems like a miss on the restaurant's part. Also, we both got pastries and only took a few bites - they were incredibly dry. Whoever does the baking isn't up to the chef's standards because I would try literally everything else on this menu in a heartbeat. Thanks Sunrose for a wonderful breakfast!

Kasey T.

Yelp
10/10 service, food, and atmosphere. Every waitress and host works together to ensure customers understand the menu, have any questions answered, and order in a timely fashion. Every interaction was beyond enjoyable and the food/drinks were incredible. My friend and I made a last minute decision to try this place after we learned that the place we chose for our original brunch plans was closed. As you can tell by the amount of food we ordered, we could not decide on just one thing. We sat outside under the sunroof, surrounded by charming businesses. It was the perfect experience. This place is about an hour away from me, but I will definitely return.

Mira S.

Yelp
I literally loved everything about this place, especially the design! Totally in my kind of spot and I'm absolutely coming back! I love this cute mall in Agoura Hills and every time I go there I find another cute favorite place to try! Food was excellent. Service is amazing. Just wanna say thank you and I will see you soon

Yelp
Such a cute, cozy, eatery. They have a free private parking lot that is limited in space. The staff are friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. The ambiance has a modern rustic feel to it. Seems to be popular as it was quite full on a Friday noon. If you order to-go or just want to order pastries or coffee, go to the right side of the restaurant. The small room where you place to-go orders has a stylish display of their merchandise, bulk coffee bags, loose tea, chili sauce, etc that you can purchase. At the time of my visit, their pastry display case had 2 large loafs of sourdough bread, variety of scones, muffins, cookies, and their popular orange polenta teacake. I tried... 1. Roasted Cauliflower (5/5): Super delicious and roasted perfectly so the bitter taste of the cauliflower no longer lingers. It is served with roasted garlic, sumac and almonds, which adds savoriness and crunch. It also comes with a side of yogurt, which added creaminess to the dish (if you choose to dip the cauliflower in it). I personally felt the yogurt was not necessary as the cauliflower on its own with the garlic, sumac, and almonds were perfect. 2. Patatas Brava (5/5) Crispy Japanese sweet potatoes mixed with Aleppo honey, chili, pistachio dukkah and whipped ricotta. The sweet potatoes were fresh and fragrant. Dip it in the whipped ricotta and you have yourself a nice, sweet, creamy explosion of goodness in your mouth. The pistachio added texture and paired well with it. 3. Orange Polenta Teacake (4.5/5) The teacake had a strong citrusy flavor and was very moist. I liked that it was not too sweet. It was a bit crumbly though. 4. Flat White (4/5) Wish the coffee was a bit stronger, but otherwise, flavor was good. Minus 1 star because I ordered it hot, but they gave me iced. 5. Rose & Mary Mocktail (5/5) FeverTree cucumber tonic water mixed with rosemary and lime. Super refreshing and lightly sweet. This was actually a free drink (can choose a cocktail or mocktail) for signing up for their email list. Appreciate them honoring it. It was a great experience and I hope to return again when I am in the area.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Sunrose Eatery for brunch. Went with some family and all the food was as delicious in appearance as it was in taste. I got the egg white omelette which comes with a beautiful squash blossom cooked into the omelette itself and is filled with veggies and a tasty sauce. It comes with a side of roasted, smashed potatoes that are so addicting and perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pita that came with the hummus & pita was the fluffiest, softest pita I've ever had and the hummus was topped with crispy chickpeas. Every dish seemed to have a lot of thought, flavor, and a little bit of love cooked into it. I would definitely come back to try some of their lunch and sweet options which also sounded delicious. The restaurant itself had a nice, open air vibe with good lighting and plenty of seating. Our waiter was really attentive and paced the food out perfectly. We all left very satisfied with our brunch.

Yelp
This place has the best vibes for brunch! The food is always good and the barista's are so sweet because I always grab a coffee before we sit if we have a little wait. Great portions, staff is so sweet, and the food is flavorful.

Yelp
The food is amazing at Sunrose! I had the egg white omelette. As a squash skeptic, I can positively say that this is the best omelette that I have had in my life. It's fresh, delightfully created with just the right amount of goat cheese, and the crispy potatoes serve as the perfect side. Little tip, their house hot sauce takes the whole dish up a notch! I also had the chai latte and it was refreshing, unlike many of the generic mixes that we are often served at other brunch spots.

Yelp
This is as good as a casual upscale cafe gets. My favorite things to eat are the eggs with hummus, veggies, and pita dish. The patatas bravas is packed with flavor and has notes of the sweetness of honey well balanced with very mild spice. I love the grounded up pieces of pistachios in it. The orange polenta muffin is absolutely delicious. I liked the Lavender coffee but would prefer a milder note of Lavender so that it feels less medicinal. Just my personal preference. Overall, great staff, excellent management, abundance of things to choose from on the menu, and the place is always jam packed but the staff always tries their best to accommodate drop-ins, but it is better if you can make reservations.

Yelp
Loved the ambience of this place, perfect for brunch! You definitely need to make reservations to avoid a long waiting time. All the items we ordered were delicious and presented well. We will be back to try more!

Yelp
Really pretty restaurant. Located in a nice area too, though parking isn't the best but we parked across the street in the other shopping center. Service was great - our waitress was super sweet, friendly, and just overall pleasant to talk to and order from. I ordered the avocado toast with a chai iced latte. It was delicious! Bread was crunchy, avocado was fresh, sprouts were yummy! All of the combined ingredients really made for a tasty avocado toast. My wife got the breakfast burrito and she enjoyed it, thought she only gave it an 8/10. But still, she said it was good. Our friend got the brioche French toast. I had a bite and wow! It was very, very good! Especially with that whipped chantilly cream?! Best part; seriously I could have a bowl of just the cream - it was so good. Overall great place!

Yelp
First time coming to this establishment and it will not be the last. Made a reservation and the table was ready, didn't have to wait like other places. I personally ordered the Steak & Eggs, presentation was amazing. The food tasted as good as it looked. At the end it was fulfilling in the best way possible. The choco tacos are a must for dessert. Will be coming back!

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious! So glad my friends and I decided to try this place. We ordered the squash blossoms, mediterranean yellowtail Crudo, patatas bravas, coconut curry cod, and elote soup. Not a single dish disappointed! Everything was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. My faves were the patatas bravas, yellowtail crudo, and squash blossoms. The yellowtail was very fresh. The squash blossoms were perfect temperate and sauce they came on wasn't too spicy. Lastly, the patatas bravas blew me away. The crispy outer crunch from the potatoes, the sweet, pillowy texture from the inside, paired with the crunchiness from the pistachios, and the spice was perfectly balanced out by the creamy texture of the ricotta sauce. 100000/10. Service was great. Our wait staff was very personable. We didn't have to wait too long for our food, but it took awhile for us to get our check. It has a very trendy, modern ambience inside as well. I love the bar seating, mushroom lamps, and lounge area furniture.

Yelp
The food the service and the ambience they get a 10 out of 10 for sure most definitely five stars I've been to this place twice and this is one of my favourite breakfast spots. I've never been there for lunch but I did order a salad for breakfast because it was so Appetizing and alluring on the menu. The service is spectacular very friendly on top of things. They serve cappuccinos and espresso handmade and delivered to your table with a little design. They have non-dairy options as well which is really nice. Everything was wonderful. My favourite was the salad that was tossed in light miso dressing. Everybody was wonderful and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I might have a problem, I've been here way too many times to count! I usually eat for here for brunch/lunch. I would highly recommend making reservations as this place can get quite busy. Always park in the front "back," where the most of the other stores are located, you'll have a more likely chance of getting parking. 4.5/5 Atmosphere: Loving the atmosphere! There is indoor seating at a table, at the bar, or "outdoor" seating in the foyer area. I would suggest if you have difficulty hearing, to eat "outside" or inside in the sunroom area as it can be a little loud. During the summers the foyer area can get a humid. 4/5 Food: I've had quite a few dishes here and haven't been too disappointed by any. *Mediterranean: This is a bowl with hummus, olives, cucumber salad, soft boiled egg, halloumi, sumac, cherry tomatoes, and pita - $20. I really liked this dish, it's light, healthy and filling. However, I do feel like it might be slightly overpriced. *Smoked Salmon flatbread: I really enjoy this flatbread, the bread is light a fluffy, not overly saturated with too much of one thing. I love pickled onions and dill, so it was a great combination - $25. *Curry buttermilk fried chicken: I think this dish is a little overpriced for what you get, though very flavorful and delicious! The bowl contained a decent amount of chicken with pickled onions, tzatziki, and cucumber - $24. *Crispy pork belly sandwich: This was probably my least favorite dish only because the pork was overcooked and was tough to eat - $23. *Burger: with sunny-side up egg, caramelized onions, wonderful secret sauce, and fries - $22. I love a good burger and this was no different, messy but delish! *Ricotta toast: ricotta, honey, stone fruit on bread. The toast was a decent size, ours had sliced pears on top, it was a nice treat to share with a friend. The toast is a bit messy and you want to eat it fairly quickly so it doesn't get soggy either - $17. *Orange polenta teacake: We got this for free one day since the service was slow... very kind of them! The cake was absolutely delicious! *Lavender Latte: Yum! The lavender is fairly subtle - $7. *Rose (Summer Water): Decent Rose, not too sweet - $12. 5/5: Staff is very friendly and attentive! The service can be a bit slow at times, so don't come in a hurry.

Yelp
I specifically requested to be seated outside, but we waited over 30 minutes, only to watch three other couples--who arrived after us--get seated outside immediately. When I brought it up to the hosts, they claimed those groups had reservations. That was clearly not true--I asked one of the couples myself, and they said they didn't have a reservation. Once we were finally seated, we waited over 25 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. I had to ask for assistance just to get noticed, while everyone around us was being helped promptly. Then it took another 45 minutes to get our food. The front staff is completely disorganized and unprofessional. The only redeeming quality was the food, which was good--but not worth the frustrating experience. Very disappointed. I will never come here again.

Yelp
Visited this establishment twice this week. Staff - I have to start here. Kaili (sp?) was a great server. Very professional, attentive and helpful for when I was trying to lock down what to order. Today, the barista wearing a necklace with an "A" pendant (wish I got her name) was professional, too, but also did something incredibly kind that brought me to tears. Giving her a huge shout out bc I'm currently dealing with an impossible situation so her kindness went a very long way. Atmosphere - Swanky, clean, lots of space to plant yourself. Food - Between two days, my husband and I got the egg breakfast, the steak and eggs, the breakfast sandwich, chai lattes and vanilla lattes. All were delicious. Zero complaints. I wish I lived closer to this place.

Yelp
Been here for brunch and dinner. I love the ambience inside, with the natural wood colors and the comfy couches. I've sat both outside and inside and enjoyed both experiences. I really love their brunch menu; the breakfast sandwich is amazing and definitely ask for extra sauce because it is so good. I could drink it. The French toast was pretty good, but I've definitely had better. When we ate there for dinner, we had the curry halibut and the steak. My husband enjoyed the hell of it, but I thought it could've been hotter and more flavorful. My chimichurri steak was amazing and cooked perfectly, and had a delicious char. The Potatas Bravas was really good, but I could've done without the honey. The stuffed squash blossoms were very tasty and I loved the goat cheese and ricotta mix mixture. For dessert, we had the chocolate bu Dino and oh my gosh - it was divine. Everyone was fighting over it and I could've eaten 5 by myself. We got the bread pudding as well, but it was more like a muffin, and the spices were so warm. It fell out of place in the spring time. Overall Sunrose of a solid spot to get some brunch or a casual dinner!

Yelp
Everything about sunrose is awesome. From the chic and classy yet laid-back design to the perfectly executed food, this hidden gem is perfection! Everything I've tried here has been delicious. The scramble with veggies and goat cheese is incredible, it has a creamy garlic goat cheese that I've not had before. Every dish is seasoned well, I rarely find that at restaurants so I'm really impressed. I'm a chocolate chip cookie aficionado and Sunrose has one of the best I've ever had, big chunks of chocolate, just enough sea salt, gooey in the middle and crispy on the outside, don't miss this!! The cheddar and chive scone is also outrageous, but it's really hard to go wrong with anything you order. The friendly servers are the cherry on top, this is hands-down one of the best breakfast places I've been to recently and I've been returning weekly.

Yelp
Breakfast should be easy as "Sunday morning," don't ya think? No waiting outside for an hour to get a table or being rushed to order, eat, pay and leave. Here at Sunrose California Eatery, you are made to feel welcomed with fabulous service, delicious healthy meals and a sense of a lazy morning sitting around a table enjoying your time. *No rushing is the motto here! This family owned biz is run by Mark & Carrie who wanted to create a "weekend" like atmosphere...and that they did!!! Nicola greeted us at the hostess desk and brought us to a wonderful table out on the covered patio. Mark takes the time to go up to each table to check in. Saul was our server with Celeste by his side in training. Very friendly and attentive. Our party of 5 were all happy with their food selections. I got the breakfast burrito without potatoes and it was delicious. So fresh!!! My friend Rose ordered the salmon flatbread which was huge; Mikey got the French toast; Nadine got the avocado toast and Kayleen got the egg salad toast. *They only serve breakfast and lunch here and close at 3pm *Reservations recommended on the weekends. *Plenty of free parking in the lot and side streets
