A Breezy Daytime Dining Destination Opens in Agoura Hills | Eater LA

"A light-filled cafe, market, and all-day restaurant opened today, October 24, in Agoura Hills at Whizin Market Square (5046 Cornell Road) with daily hours from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Founded by Marc and Carie Hernandez (formerly of Brent’s Deli), the versatile spot offers a wide menu of drinks—including coffee, cocktails, juices, teas, non-alcoholic drinks, and wine—alongside breakfast favorites, Roman-style flatbreads, and pan-Californian dishes such as crispy pork belly sandwiches and curry buttermilk fried chicken. Former Tartine and Blue Bottle Coffee chef Scott Boggs serves as culinary director while chef de cuisine Travon Oliver runs the kitchen day-to-day. The sleek, wood-paneled interior was designed by Studio Paul Chan with a “wabi meets California” approach that blends imperfection, texture, and laid-back beach warmth, and an interesting service note is that 100 percent of the tips are pooled and distributed among Sunrose team members." - Matthew Kang

I grew up in this area, and honestly, this mall used to feel so dead. It’s wild how much it’s transformed. I was back in town visiting a friend and decided to check it out, and wow, totally different vibe now. Even for a weekday lunch, the place was buzzing with people. Definitely make a reservation if you want a specific time, because I’m glad I booked ahead. The atmosphere is super cute, and the food really surprised me, in the best way. I came in with low expectations, but everything we ordered was on point. Service was excellent, too. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. One highlight I have to mention: I asked for hot sauce on the side, and they brought out this house spicy sauce (not sure of the exact name) that was SO GOOD. If you’re into heat, definitely ask for it. It really takes the food up a notch.

Wow this place is just so special. Culinary triumph with every dish. We had crispy spicy tuna which was out of this world, the shishito peppers with garlic creme fraiche that blew our minds and finished up with a sticky toffee pudding. Gavin is a sweet bartender and his margaritas, named "Gavin's Margaritas" were next level. Don't miss this place!

My coworker surprised me with a warm matcha latte and a blueberry muffin from Sunrise California Eatery, and both were exceptional! The matcha latte was crafted to perfection, the texture was velvety with a natural earthiness, and the matcha had a deep, layered flavor that was rich yet incredibly smooth. There was no bitterness, just a beautifully balanced blend with subtle sweetness and a comforting, calming finish. You can tell they use high-quality matcha and prepare it with care. And the muffin… WOW! The freshness was obvious at first glance, and the generous amount of blueberries in every bite made the experience incredible: plump, juicy, and perfectly distributed throughout. It had that homemade bakery quality that’s hard to find. Huge shoutout to the baker! This place is highly recommended, a true hidden gem!

We're brunch people, so even when we're on the road we look for nice spots to start the day. If you find yourself in Agoura Hills or nearby, check out Sunrose. The people and the atmosphere are friendly. The deck area in the atrium is a great place to sit and enjoy brunch. My partner likes to get a side pancake or French toast but that wasn't an option. The owner recommended we try the Dutch Baby. It's a meal on its own or shareable and it's delicious---try it! Sunrose also has several healthy breakfast options like the Sunrose breakfast and the Mediterranean. I had the Sunrose breakfast and enjoyed the mushrooms and grilled tomato with eggs and delicious toast, and of course tried a few bites of the Dutch Baby. Just the right amount of food. It's right off the 101 so an easy detour.

I absolutely love this spot, every time me and my family are in the area we always make a stop. The food is incredible and they have the nicest people on staff! The interior and the vibe really add to the way it all feels, its very very cozy. It's a spot you can go to at anytime and its beautiful and highly enjoyable all the way around! Every single time without fail I'm ordering the miso chicken salad and the sausage & shrooms flatbread..j'adore..never fails xxx

What a beautiful restaurant! Everyone was super attentive and friendly—from the hostess to the gentleman clearing plates. We stopped by for a quick bite during Saturday brunch, and it was surprisingly efficient. We waited about 15 minutes for our table, which wasn’t bad at all. While waiting, you can grab coffee inside the restaurant—and it was delicious. Once seated, we were greeted with an orange cake that was absolutely yummy! The ambiance was great, with a live DJ playing while we ate. I ordered the steak and frites, which was cooked to perfection, and my friend ordered their famous breakfast burrito—packed with so much flavor. Brunch was such a great experience that I’d definitely come back for dinner hours. One thing to note: they are a cashless restaurant, so plan accordingly. ⭐ Highly recommend!

Every meal at Sunrose was fantastic, with thoughtful recommendations, attentive service, and cocktails that were absolute perfection. The mains certainly impressed, but the true stars were the appetisers. We shared nearly every appetiser on the menu and the sumac-dusted hummus with handmade, warm pita bread was unbeatable - except perhaps by the lamb meatballs that tasted just like my yiayia’s keftedes. They made me feel at home and genuinely brought a tear to my eye. For anybody else craving authentic Mediterranean flavours amongst an otherwise versatile and beautifully curated menu, Sunrose is a must! The evening ended with what might be the best sticky toffee pudding you’ll ever try, paired with a tailored dessert cocktail that was everything I wanted. I couldn’t imagine a better finale to the night. A flawless 10/10.

Sunrose is an ABSOLUTE GEM! We have been coming here regularly for the past two years. The food, service and the atmosphere are all fabulous. Carrie & Marc have created a truly special place in Agoura. We most often come for breakfast & we love the Dutch baby pancakes, the Sunrose breakfast and the Mocha lattes. All of the pastries (especially the Orange Polenta Teacake & the Sultana Scone) are delicious as well. Recently, we started coming for dinner and bringing friends and Sunrose never disappoints. The Petaluma Chicken and the Mezze Plate are very yummy. Annd, let's not forget the cocktails and the Sticky Toffee Pudding...devine! Thank you especially for taking care of our friends tonight, Carrie & Marc. We all had a wonderful night :)

Yelp
Take my 5 stars. Well earned. Food here is high quality and good portion sizes. It's evident that Sunrose uses the finest ingredients in their dishes and the kitchen knows how to cook with them. We came on New Year's Day to find a busy restaurant. We often dine at the other restaurants in this plaza, but had yet to dine here. The setting is a large open air plaza with shops and other restaurants. We sat at one of their many outside tables. I never even went inside, but could see that inside the restaurant was well lit and comfortable with nice tables/chairs and a nice bar. I'm not one to drink alcohol in the mornings or even the afternoon, but did look over their extensive cocktail menu. The libations looked great. We ordered the Sunrose breakfast and a salmon flatbread. Both were excellent. Service was a bit slow, but it was hopping and we were not in any kind of hurry, so it was fine. High quality place and I'm already looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Sunrose is a vibe at night. The atmosphere is laid-back, low lights yet energetic, we went on a Saturday evening and they had an awesome DJ who played chill lo-fi/house-style beats that set the perfect mood without overpowering the conversation. The craft cocktails are next level, creative, well-balanced, and clearly made by a bartender who know what they're doing. The food is just as impressive. The appetizers are perfect for sharing, and every dish we tried was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether you're stopping by for drinks, small plates, or a full meal, Sunrose delivers on all fronts. Great music, amazing drinks, and delicious food. This place is a must visit if you're looking for a relaxed but stylish spot to unwind or have a date.

Yelp
Sun Rose is a gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels elevated yet relaxed -- the kind of place that works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for a special evening out. The mocktails deserve a special shoutout. Thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and genuinely exciting -- And the spicy tuna rice... absolutely outstanding. The miso cod... It's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave and immediately want to order again. Highly recommend Sun Rose, especially if you're looking for great food, beautiful vibes, and elevated drink options. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Sunrose is by my job so we stopped by for lunch. It was an AMAZING experience. The staff was super kind and gave great options. My team and I shared the Dutch baby pancake which was HUGE. That was my first time having a Dutch baby and it was DELICIOUS. And then I ordered the B.A.B. The best part was that they had turkey sausage patty, two eggs scrambled, crispy potatoes, toasted country bread. It was great The location is TOO cute aesthetically. Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. It is pretty.

Yelp
Sunrose has been on my radar since I first saw signs of it coming to life years ago. I knew I wanted to try it, but somehow, time got away from me and tonight, I finally made it. I'm so glad I did. They actually just started to have a new fresh and elevated dinner experience as of November 5th. This spot is more than just a restaurant as it's an elevated eatery that brings coastal California to the table with a modern, welcoming vibe. It's already been recognized as one of Yelp's Top Places to Eat in LA for 2025, ranking #77. The heart behind Sunrose is something you can feel the moment you walk in. Founders Marc and Carie Hernandez come from decades in the restaurant world and created this space to bring back what's been missing in a lot of dining experiences: real hospitality. It's not just about food; it's about connection, warmth, and slowing down to enjoy the moment. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor: *THAI CHICKEN PASTA: Chicken breast, linguine, Thai peanut sauce, micro cilantro, carrots, peanuts, and bean sprouts. The sauce was almost like a peanut butter but created specifically for noodles. Think of a chicken satay, but pasta form. *CALIFORNIA ROCKFISH COCONUT CURRY: Local wild California rockfish, yellow curry, tomato, and jasmine rice. Light but flavorful and the curry was not overpowering the freshness of the fish. Also, the fish was flaky and moist. *MISO BLACK COD: Buttery miso glaze, seasoned bok choy, and crispy rice. This was one of the standouts as it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Whenever this is on a menu, I have to order it as it had become my obsession. *BREAD PUDDING: Banana, whiskey caramel, sultanas, brioche, and whipped Chantilly cream. Absolutely decadent! All of the dishes are very shareable, so order a few different things and taste a little here and there. The setting is casual but stylish, perfect for date night, catching up with friends, or treating yourself to something a little more special. Bonus: parking is super easy since it's attached to the Whizin Center with plenty of large lots. If you're in or near the Agoura area and looking for a meal, I can't recommend Sunrose enough. I already can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Wow what a great place for brunch! The new place right next to wood ranch in agoura hills has both indoor and patio seating. It's nicely decorated and welcoming. They have a nice selection brunch favorites that's very California inspired. The entire menu items we got were delicious. My egg white omelette had crème fraiche in it which added a nice creaminess to it, definitely recommend it! Also, loved my espresso martini so much, I had to get another one. They are so good! The main downside of this place was the service. I think it can be understandable because they are new, but other than our orders, our server never checked up on us. Also, the host staff were friendly but they need a better system for queuing because if there's only one person, after you wait to get called, you can only wait back in the line to get seated again. Overall, a definite must for a brunch if you are on the area. Now I need to go back for dinner!

Yelp
This was almost going to be a 3 star review. We had reservations and were seated right away. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and has such a chill vibe. Really loved that about the place. A DJ was playing some nice relaxing beats which added to the experience. We ordered a bottle of pinot grigio which was pretty good, I'd say slightly above average taste for my palate. I ordered the Chicken Snitzel entree and my wife tried to order the Shrimp Pasta and bread appetizer. Well here's the issue. My food came out and so did the bread. I thought maybe the pasta dish is coming soon so I waited. Eventually 10 minutes passed and I was finally able to get someone to come to the table. We asked where the pasta dish was and they said it was never ordered. This was upsetting, it was literally the first thing ordered. Long story short, they put a rush on it and finally the dish came. The food here is spectacular and high quality. Both dishes plus the appetizer were really good. The entire experience could have been perfect if it wasn't for the server's mistake. Finally we received the bill and the food had been comped. We thought this was a very classy gesture and felt like the restaurant redeemed themselves. This is the reason I'm giving 5 stars. Mistakes happen and the restaurant took ownership and that's a good sign of a quality restaurant. We will come back due to all these reasons. Thank you again for being a class act and can't wait to try more of the delicious food.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for brunch on a Saturday around 10am. It was really easy to make a reservation for four online a couple of days before which was great. The vibes are so cute! The decor is beautiful and the staff are all super friendly. The food was amazing. I got the breakfast sandwich and it was oozing egg yolk which is what I love. I was literally in heaven and all my friends could tell lol. My friends all liked their food as well. Will definitely be coming back! It is a bit expensive so it's definitely a special occasion type of place. But they do have really high quality food and you're paying for the ambiance as well.

Yelp
Had a lovely time at Sunrose! The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were both strong and tasty -- definitely a plus. The environment was beautiful and had a great vibe, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy time with friends. Overall, a really wonderful experience and a great night out. I'd happily come back!

Yelp
If you're coming up north on the 101, you've probably seen their large billboard. I finally got to try their Daytime Menu on a busy Sunday. After exploring the other businesses in Whizen Square for ~25 minutes, my party was seated. The rosemary latte tasted like a plain latte, so I would skip on that. While I enjoyed my Sunrose Breakfast Plate, a few items were lower than a lukewarm temperature, like the sausage patty, mixed mushrooms, and charred tomato. Still, I really appreciate their use of local and fresh ingredients. Our seat in the main dining room also felt a tad crowded; we were about 1 ft away from two other tables. But overall, I look forward to my next visit. Definitely make a reservation.
google avatar

Nancy T.

Yelp
So we hadn't been here for a while decided to go back. If you come on a Sunday, check into getting reservations. Since we don't live around the area, we never know what time we're gonna get there. But we were able to get a table outside and the heaters were good enough cause it was cold. Raegan was our server. We believe she only had our table outside. The rest were inside. The food is so good here and the coffee was too. My husband and I got the Sunrose breakfast. I had eggs over medium and the sausage patty, he had eggs over easy with the bacon. The potatoes are crispy again on the outside and perfect on the inside. The eggs are so tasty and the toast we put homemade I believe raspberry jam. We will be back again. For some reason, my pictures will not post.
google avatar

Grace B.

Yelp
One of the best spots for brunch! There is plenty of light coming through and it's not too loud inside. The food itself was very good and the drinks were unique and well made.

Yelp
I officially have a full on addiction with the vegan caesar tofu salad. I have had it while dining in and a few times for take out and it's always amazing. I still need to stop by for brunch, can't wait because it looks so delish. Obsessed with Sunrose!

Bel P.

Yelp
This is a charming place to stop and grab some grub. I was in the area and craving a good breakfast spot. Yelp convinced me to give this place a shot and I'm glad I did. There's a parking area outside but it gets a bit crowded so try street parking or the strip mall on the other side. There's atmosphere is casual and I was seated promptly. I ordered the egg white omelette with goat cheese and a regular coffee. It had beautiful presentation and came with a delicious side if roasted potatoes. The omelette was good, but it didn't know my socks off. It did, however hit the spot. My hunger pangs were gone and I left full and had some leftover to take home. If you're in the area, definitely check this place out. The ambiance is lovely and service is friendly. Bon appétite!
google avatar

Natalia W.

Yelp
Delicious food and great ambiance. The lavender lemonade was amazing. French toast wasn't my favorite but the Dutch baby was so good. Will be back for sure.

Claire G.

Yelp
Eh. It's a nice place, but the service is always lacking! The last time I was here, unfortunately I had the same waiter. And just like last time, several components of my was wrong. I asked for a boiled egg, I got a sunny-side up egg. We asked for extra syrup, didn't get it. I asked for an iced latte and got a hot one. Why go back to a place with high prices, regular food and bad service...
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
I came to Sunrose because a friend of mine is pregnant and she doesn't really wanna go too far because she is due soon. So I said I would happily come to her neck of the woods! First impression when I arrived was... THERE IS A PARKING LOT lol. You know how rare that is AND free parking at that! I found a spot right in front and was greeted by the bright open space with natural woods and smiling faces from the restaurant team. I was last to show up (oops) but it was all good. We ordered so much good stuff between the three of us. For whatever reason, the food was a lot better than I expected lol. Maybe because the drive up to the restaurant, it looked a bit deserted, but maybe it's due to my lack of exposure coming to this side. I think I can count on one hand how many times I've actually come out to Agoura Hills. We got the potatoes, cauliflower, smoked salmon flatbread, steak frites, kale salad, and the breakfast burrito lol. Surprisingly, we demolished most of it!!! So sorry, I don't recall the actual name of the dishes - but pretty easy to navigate the menu once you take a look at it. I will definitely come back here for Bruch or maybe even their newly added dinner service! Yum. Honestly, I can't wait to come back :) see y'all next time!! xo

Yelp
Sundays are for Girls Brunch :) Always happy to make it back to Sunrose California Eatery in Agoura Hills for some sunshine, warm service, and stellar bites. I've been a fan of Sunrose since I checked them out awhile back for a Yelp event and happy that I was able to bring my foodie friend Jess B. with me for some much needed bevs and table side yapping. Always impressed by Sunrose's aesthetic and decor throughout the restaurant. It's a fun and inviting spot, which my friend mentioned is also the perfect place to host a party as they have a lovely glass enclosed patio area. Will be keeping this in mind. Per usual, we were absolutely blown away by the service today. The staff here are so friendly and always give the best recommendations. Major shoutout to Natalie and Mariah who worked our table today - these gals are a ray of sunshine and created all of the feel good vibes that we needed. Natalie gave us fabulous recommendations for cocktails, mains, and posh meal coffees. Here's what I had (and would absolutely order again): Sunrose Martini - A power punch of a drink, small and dainty in appearance but strong. A feminine martini with gin and the right ratio of honey and raspberry. Dutch Baby Pancake - If you've never had a Dutch baby it's the world's best and flattest pancake style bite you'll ever taste. Thin dough with a light crispy crust. The homemade vanilla, bean whipped cream and fresh fruit made this dish a 10/10. I'm usually more of a savory breakfast person, but this dish is a must and we were told it is a super popular dish here. Extra Crispy Bacon- just do it! Pro Tip: I always trust judgement when it comes to Match and she said Sunrose's in a winner. She described the matcha as perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and refreshing. Will need to try this next time.
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
Sunrose has quickly become one of our favorite local breakfast spots, so we decided to check out their dinner menu as well. We went in for dinner last night and wow, what a great experience. The ambiance was perfect as they had a DJ playing some mellow music and the lighting was ideal as well. The servers are all very friendly and attentive, and the food is exceptional. We got the mezze plate, gnocchi, black miso cod, and steak tartare to share. Everything we had was delicious and we can't wait to go back again for dinner!

Yelp
Great lunch spot in Agoura Hills! There's parking out front and it's located within a small outdoor shopping plaza. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance and incredible service. The staff is so genuinely kind here. We sat in the outdoor patio which was comfortable, they even had blankets outside in case you get cold (though it's super hot this time of year!). I ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk. It was delicious! For lunch, I ordered the miso chicken salad. It was a huge portion and was super delicious. I would definitely recommend it and would order it again. Great spot!
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Came here on a referral and what a gem of a spot for breakfast or brunch. It is tucked into this cool little center (behind the Canyon music venue). The problem we encountered were the choices all looked so good - I teetered between the breakfast burrito or bacon and eggs, but alas went with the traditional B&E and it was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. We liked the free sample of the lemon bread as we waited for our food. The espresso coffee selections looked good, but we already had our fill before arriving (next time we will plan ahead to enjoy). If back in the area, I definitely will return
google avatar

Candus L.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful place. I live the vibe. Make a reservation The service was very good even with place being so busy. We had the coconut yogurt and some other items. I highly recommend the lavender latte.

Ed A.

Yelp
The good - good food, friendly service, nice decor. The bad - very loud horrible "chill" music to completely ruin the experience. I asked the waiter if the volume of the music could be lowered and he said he didn't think so since the volume is "preset" Goodbye Sunrose, I won't be returning.

Yelp
Sunrose California Eatery was everything! So glad I finally made it out here because I will be here more often. Just the ambience alone.... 10/10. I loved how light airy and modern it felt. It was a perfect place to grab brunch on a nice sunny day. For drinks, absolutely loved the Elderflower Spritz and The Night Is Young, which is a watermelon cocktail. It was so good, highly recommend those two drinks. The Patatas Bravas and the Sausage and Shrooms flatbread pizza are just two perfect appetizers. The potatoes had such an amazing flavor combo with savory, sweet, and cheese! The pizza just complimented the potatoes so well. All I know is, Sunrose will see me again. Thank you!

Yelp
This place was incredible! I came here with my husband and our friends, and we got a variety of food! The ambience was fantastic, the restaurant was so uniquely decorated and designed! The service was so fast, and our waiter was extremely attentive. The food itself was delicious! As someone with a lot of dietary restrictions and very picky about food, this place truly amazing!!

Yelp
I love coming to this spot. It's such a cute restaurant. I love how they have a separate area for coffee and pastries if you are on the go. The owners are so sweet. The workers are very sweet. Their coffee is really good and I always want more but I know I can't. The times I have come were for breakfast. I have tried a variety of foods from their breakfast menu and they did not disappoint. I have tried their dutch baby pancake, French toast, ricotta toast, and a couple of their pastries. I have enjoyed everything. Overall, I recommend this place to all my family members who are nearby or willing to drive. I know it's time for my husband and I to go again.
google avatar

Maddy M.

Yelp
Such a cute place! I loved how bright and open the inside of the restaurant was and there was plenty of seating; including bar seating and outside seating. I saw at the bar and got a coffee and the bartender who was helping me was so kind. I think there was some confusion about the coffee orders being picked up from the coffee side of the restaurant and brought to the bar side, so my coffee was maybe not as warm as it was when it was made fresh. But the latte I had was still so good! There are lots of food options on the menu, even for your veg friends! My friend and I ordered a couple salads and a flatbread to share. I got the kale dinosaur salad with grilled chicken and it was delicious! However I was munching away and chomped right into a tiny piece of chicken bone which was unpleasant. I loved the flatbread crust, but the cheese on the Daisy Rose flatbread was a little heavy for me. My friend got the vegan Ceasar salad and she liked it a lot! I would totally come back here for breakfast or brunch! The bar was so cute I would love to try one of her cocktails. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Came here with some friends after the Great Race of Agoura hills for some delicious food! The restaurant has a lot of seating inside and out. They have a sun room with seating and a bar counter as well. The staff and service was very good! All were helpful and inviting. The owner is a fantastic gentleman whom we met during a Yelp event. We ordered the Crispy Pork belly sandwich, Brioche French toast, breakfast burrito and Mimosa flight. The crispy pork sandwich was very good, crispy and tender. The Brioche French toast was delicious as well with thick cut toast and fresh fruit. The burrito was tasty and delicate. Overall, a great experience! Be sure to come early because this place gets pretty busy for breakfast and brunch. They have their own parking lot and there is also some street parking . Come and enjoy this place. Happy Nom Nom!

Yelp
I knew Sunrose typically for brunch, but was surprised when my search revealed it was a great date night. We went tonight and were served by Ella the owner's daughter. We had no idea this was a local family owned restaurant. I had the coconut curry halibut, and my husband had a gigantic kale salad. Both of which were made from local produce, and absolutely delicious. Ella told us the story of the restaurant and that her brother who created the Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert was going to start culinary school at the Culinary Institute of America tomorrow. Of course we had to try it and it was divine! Towards the end of our meal, the mom Carie came out and asked us how our meal was. We had an excellent dinner, incredible service, and the outdoor seating area is nice and even has cozy blankets left for guests. I definitely want to take more friends and family here, and love knowing that we are supporting a one of a kind family restaurant. Would give them 10 stars if I could!

Yelp
~ BRIGHT, BEAUTIFUL, AND BRUNCH-PERFECT, SUNROSE IS THAT GORL ~ Sunrose California Eatery is officially my new go-to brunch spot, and honestly, it's perfect for anything from a cozy coffee date to a big group celebration. I'm definitely planning a birthday brunch with the girls for my next visit! First off, the vibe here is *chef's kiss*; clean, modern, airy, and just so pretty. Think light, neutral tones with plenty of natural light, plus a separate coffee + pastry counter if you're just popping in on the go. Food-wise, everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Dutch baby pancake with chantilly cream was next-level. The pancake had perfectly "burnt" ends and a soft pillowy middle. The breakfast burrito was savory, filling, and met all of my expectations, including the grilled tortilla. Lastly, the side of bacon we had was the crispiest we've ever had and it was amazing. For drinks, I really enjoyed my matcha latte (they use real ceremonial matcha, y'all!) and the tequila sunrose was really tasty. A special shoutout to Natalie and Mariah for being so friendly and attentive, they made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming and seems like Sunrose hire just genuinely lovely people.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with the family and let me just tell you we were blown away. From the yummy appetizers to our main dishes and then to the mouth watering desserts it was such an amazing experience. The service was also great and the restaurant had a nice ambiance form indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
The decor of Sunrose Eatery has light and airy vibes with beautiful natural tones. Light colored wood panels, beige, white, brown color waves illuminate the space. With subtle pops of color. The sun room seating is perfect for any day. Today was a bit overcast with light rain, it felt as though we were in the city, looking out the windows. The bar area is warm, welcoming, and eye-pleasing. There is a lounge seating area directly in front of the bar which has great energy. Looks like this can be a fun spot for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. Let the cocktails and champs flow! The Egg White Omelette called my attention with its description. Roasted summer squash, Creamy Goat Cheese, Squash Blossoms, Soft Herbs, Crispy Potatoes. This omelette is truly a work of art. The squash blossoms decorate the contrast of egg whites like an acrylic painting on a white canvas. The Sunrose Salad was a generous portion, enough for two meals. Mixed Greens, Asian pears, Goat cheese, Candied pecans, Garlic vinaigrette. The service was friendly, prompt, and pleasant. I'm definitely adding this into the lunch rotation. Also curious to try out their new dinner menu options. Sunrose has put a smile on my face!

Yelp
First and foremost, I'll have to come back here again since we arrived around 4pm, so we ended up in between their Breakfast/Lunch menu and Dinner menu, and instead got their Golden Hour Menu which is a truncated menu with mostly Small Plates. With what is available, we chose the Patata Bravas - Japanese Sweet potatoes - and Sicilian Flatbread. The Patata Brava is the more complex of the two dishes, with Crispy Japanese Sweet potatoes, Aleppo honey, Fresno chilli, whipped ricotta, and pistachio dukkah. This is a very nice, layered fairly sweet dish that can play almost like a semi-appetizer or dessert. It can be a bit thick but it's worth swirling and mixing around the ingredients with every cut of Japanese Sweet potato to experience all the flavors. I would give it a 4 out of 5. The Roman-style Sicilian Flatbread is more straightforward in terms of taste and presentation. A nicer pizza, even. This consists of spicy Italian salami, pork fennel sausage, mozzarella, manchego, tomato sauce, soft herbs, and basil. They all work pretty well together to give it a good dish, but largely not too memorable. It's a 3.5 out of 5. The ambience is nice, bright, and cozy, and the Americano is pretty good. This feels like a place that may do better as a breakfast or brunch spot, but I do want to try both their breakfasts and dinner menu. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
10 stars - favorite restaurant in the Agoura/Westlake area. The atmosphere both inside and outside is perfect, cozy, trendy, and alive. The food and drinks are of course just as good! I make sure to return here every chance I get, and always recommend it when getting lunch with a friend. Service is great as well.

Yelp
Sunrose is my favorite local brunch spot in town. Between the chill vibes, awesome drinks, and delicious food, it doesn't get much better than this place. Starting with the drinks, The Day is Young is a perfectly balanced bourbon cocktail with watermelon, lemon, and a tajin rim. The drink isn't overly fruity and is so tasty. For food I had the steak and eggs. I violated my rule of never ordering steak at a non-steakhouse, and I'm glad I did. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. It came with two sunny side up eggs and some crispy breakfast potatoes. Absolutely wonderful dish. Oh, and the servers were super friendly and helpful. I can't wait to come back next weekend.

Yelp
Food was tasty. Friendly waitress but took a bit too long for breakfast. I know prices are always going up but 17 bucks for a slice of sourdough with egg salad seems a bit pricey but for today's day and age what should I expect. Give the place a try. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch on a Sunday - staff was able to seat all 12+ of us together between two tables. Looks like Sunrose is part of a market area, so you should be able to park in the back if there's no parking at the front entrance. The vibes of the restaurant were super cute, really liked the decor. We all ordered an entree and a drink. I got the Dutch Baby Pancake and an Iced Honey Oat Matcha Latte. The Dutch Baby Pancake is worth it if you're a pancake fan. You can put all the fruits, whipped chantilly cream, and syrup on the pancake and roll it up. Their whipped cream as delicious. The matcha latte was good too, nice strong matcha taste. Would definitely come here again for brunch.

Yelp
Service was ok, our server (Jessica W.) was not as friendly with us as she was with her other tables around us, we heard her give everyone the same welcoming speech around us. Asking if they had been there before how they were, until she got to our table. She was dry never asked if we had been there before or if we had questions, but we didn't let it affect our breakfast or our mood and I am glad we didn't because the food was amazing and the restaurant ambiance was very warm and cozy. We ordered egg white omelette, avocado toast and a Dutch baby. Everything was seasoned well, fresh and tasted delicious.

Yelp
This is one of the few restaurants you can actually get proper orange egg yolks from. The staff is top-notch and the food is really amazing. We always come here when we're in town for business and they never miss!

Yelp
Visited 12/26/2024 Breakfast Place. Not a great selection on the menus. Great Fresh Brew Coffee. Very Friendly Staff Food good but not great. Eggs were good and Sausage was Tasty with a hint of spice. Sadly what they call Crispy Potatoes we're just Soft Soggy Baked Potatoes with no flavor and absolutely no Crispy. Prices a little overpriced for everything. Breakfast for two sadly with tax and Tip over $75.00 Won't be returning.

Yelp
Service was excellent, the menu was too small to read and poorly printed. The savory food was good. The omelette was well seasoned, the potatoes could've used more seasoning. Would maybe try something else. My husband loved the Dutch baby pancake - the one edge piece I had was burnt. Would come and try something else at least once more.

Yelp
Sunrose California Eatery is a beautiful space with plenty of natural lighting. There's ample parking with two different parking lots outside. For the food: Sunrose has modern California fare with brunch, flatbreads and fusion entrees. The curry buttermilk fried chicken is crispy and fragrant. It pairs well with the tzatziki and cucumbers. I'd recommend ordering family-style to try more options.

Yelp

Yelp
!!!!They don't take cash !!!!!! Only if you have exact change which they informed me after I complained and said that's against the law. I know more places are getting away from cash but was a disappointment wish I knew in advance! Food was good Service was nice the manager gave us a pastry to try to see our thoughts We tried several different dishes and shared Ambiance is beautiful

Yelp
I've already left a review about this place before, but honestly, it feels too special not to come back and say it again. The food and the service are just spot-on in every way. You know that feeling when a place just clicks with you from the very first visit? That's exactly what this is for me. So, if this counts as my "update review," then so be it -- but I'm sticking to my story and once again giving this spot a solid 5 stars. (What can I say... some habits are worth keeping!)

Yelp
Stopped by around noon on a Saturday and was seated in about 10 minutes which isn't bad. Food was very good. Tried the patatas bravas which actually was quite rich and filling. Very good. Other breakfast items were good as always.

Yelp
Such a cute, cozy, eatery. They have a free private parking lot that is limited in space. The staff are friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. The ambiance has a modern rustic feel to it. Seems to be popular as it was quite full on a Friday noon. If you order to-go or just want to order pastries or coffee, go to the right side of the restaurant. The small room where you place to-go orders has a stylish display of their merchandise, bulk coffee bags, loose tea, chili sauce, etc that you can purchase. At the time of my visit, their pastry display case had 2 large loafs of sourdough bread, variety of scones, muffins, cookies, and their popular orange polenta teacake. I tried... 1. Roasted Cauliflower (5/5): Super delicious and roasted perfectly so the bitter taste of the cauliflower no longer lingers. It is served with roasted garlic, sumac and almonds, which adds savoriness and crunch. It also comes with a side of yogurt, which added creaminess to the dish (if you choose to dip the cauliflower in it). I personally felt the yogurt was not necessary as the cauliflower on its own with the garlic, sumac, and almonds were perfect. 2. Patatas Brava (5/5) Crispy Japanese sweet potatoes mixed with Aleppo honey, chili, pistachio dukkah and whipped ricotta. The sweet potatoes were fresh and fragrant. Dip it in the whipped ricotta and you have yourself a nice, sweet, creamy explosion of goodness in your mouth. The pistachio added texture and paired well with it. 3. Orange Polenta Teacake (4.5/5) The teacake had a strong citrusy flavor and was very moist. I liked that it was not too sweet. It was a bit crumbly though. 4. Flat White (4/5) Wish the coffee was a bit stronger, but otherwise, flavor was good. Minus 1 star because I ordered it hot, but they gave me iced. 5. Rose & Mary Mocktail (5/5) FeverTree cucumber tonic water mixed with rosemary and lime. Super refreshing and lightly sweet. This was actually a free drink (can choose a cocktail or mocktail) for signing up for their email list. Appreciate them honoring it. It was a great experience and I hope to return again when I am in the area.

Yelp
Clockwise from left: Dutch baby with berries and vanilla whipped cream 10/10 I will always get this dish. Steak (6oz I think) and Eggs very flavorful and well seasoned, they got medium rare down perfectly, an elevated steak & eggs for sure. Hot coffee with cream & sugar. We really should have gotten one of their artisanal coffees they have on the menu - next time! Tap water. Avocado toast was so loaded up and flavorful, would definitely get this again! Hibiscus lemonade was tropical & refreshing! Service was quick, attentive and kind! I'm glad we picked seating inside the atrium, it's so tranquil!
