Lower South End’s counter-service spot turns out a photogenic dim sum and dumpling flight alongside dan dan noodles and skewers. Named among Axios Charlotte’s best new restaurants, it’s casual, quick, and proudly local.

Thought this food was very okay. Personally, I won’t go back. It was pretty good. But I spent $70 and just thought this food was okay. The Ma-La Wontons were good but the spice wasn’t it for me. The Pepper Chicken & Cumin Lamb was tender but just no flavor. Like, if this had sauce with it. I think it would be really bomb.

Sun’s Kitchen has delicious dim sum with fresh flavors and great variety. The food came out hot and tasty, and the service was friendly. A nice spot to satisfy a dim sum craving

Absolutely a gem. Have been here a few times and the food never disappoint. Highly recommend the chili oil wonton, amazing mala flavor and perfect bite size pieces. Dan Dan noodle and any of the skewers are also a must. Parking may be hard especially around evening/weekends due to the restaurant sharing the same lot with a sports bar.

Loved everything about the restaurant, you can order from a screen located at the entrance or through a qr code at your table. The place is beautifully decorated, food was delicious especially the dumplings which were amazing, definitely be back.

I typically get take out but today I dined in. They do the little things well. They provide a pitcher of water automatically. I got the eggplant (spicy). The spicy isn't really spicy from a chile pepper perspective. I do think it is delicious but if you are looking for extreme heat, it may not have the heat you are looking for. I also got the dumpling flight. I love having a variety of flavors. Oh, I also enjoy the cumin lamb. Tasty!

Really enjoyed the pork and chive dumplings, the pork “hamburger” and the lamb with cumin. Everything was really tasty and I thought had great flavors. Would come back to try other dishes. It’s nice that you are also able to select if you would like it spicy or not. I’m not always in the mood for the Sichuan peppers. The price was a little higher, but I suppose it’s because of the location. It’s mostly self service. You can order on the kiosk or your phone. Someone will bring out water and your food when it is ready. Park is atrocious! The parking lot is shared with the platform bar and halal guys, etc. Most of the spots are reserved for CATS employees. A lot of people making up their own spots. Otherwise would come back because the food is good!

Sun’s Kitchen is an absolute gem for anyone in Dilworth, South End, or LoSo — and lucky for us, it’s just a short walk from our Dilworth neighborhood! It’s the perfect spot for our whole family (even with a vegetarian in the mix). This isn’t your average Chinese restaurant; it’s authentic Northern Chinese cuisine made with care, tradition, and recipes the owners grew up enjoying at home in China. Every dish is fresh, made from real ingredients you can feel good about eating, and the flavors are unforgettable. We can see exactly why Sun’s Kitchen has become one of Charlotte’s hottest restaurants this year. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, this is a must-try for anyone who loves incredible food with heart behind it.

This place is Amazing! Everything about the place was perfect. The food was EXCELLENT! The service was kind, warm, and welcoming. The atmosphere was clean and orderly. The beef soup was excellent. The wontons were good. The egg desert was great. The music was tranquil. I HIGHLY recommend. I am posting from my business account but I assure you, I have eaten all over America and this place is in the top 3. Just try it. The price point is fair for the value, flavor, and portion size. The mango tea is great as well.
