Lower South End’s counter-service spot turns out a photogenic dim sum and dumpling flight alongside dan dan noodles and skewers. Named among Axios Charlotte’s best new restaurants, it’s casual, quick, and proudly local.

DASHER REVIEW On this pickup order I found a new place that I need to try. The atmosphere here is wonderful. Elegant, but not too bougie. Clean. Peaceful. Tucked off the busy streets of South Blvd, Sun's Kitchen is a marvelous place to take your living partner, or even just a lil date fling thing lol!. A bit on the pricey side, be sure to bring your wallet. But that kind of goes with the terrorist with this type of delicate, chef prepared, specialty food items. Hall in all, I definitely recommend son's kitchen to you and everybody else reading this.

Absolutely a gem. Have been here a few times and the food never disappoint. Highly recommend the chili oil wonton, amazing mala flavor and perfect bite size pieces. Dan Dan noodle and any of the skewers are also a must. Parking may be hard especially around evening/weekends due to the restaurant sharing the same lot with a sports bar.

Loved everything about the restaurant, you can order from a screen located at the entrance or through a qr code at your table. The place is beautifully decorated, food was delicious especially the dumplings which were amazing, definitely be back.

Really enjoyed the pork and chive dumplings, the pork “hamburger” and the lamb with cumin. Everything was really tasty and I thought had great flavors. Would come back to try other dishes. It’s nice that you are also able to select if you would like it spicy or not. I’m not always in the mood for the Sichuan peppers. The price was a little higher, but I suppose it’s because of the location. It’s mostly self service. You can order on the kiosk or your phone. Someone will bring out water and your food when it is ready. Park is atrocious! The parking lot is shared with the platform bar and halal guys, etc. Most of the spots are reserved for CATS employees. A lot of people making up their own spots. Otherwise would come back because the food is good!

I typically get take out but today I dined in. They do the little things well. They provide a pitcher of water automatically. I got the eggplant (spicy). The spicy isn't really spicy from a chile pepper perspective. I do think it is delicious but if you are looking for extreme heat, it may not have the heat you are looking for. I also got the dumpling flight. I love having a variety of flavors. Oh, I also enjoy the cumin lamb. Tasty!

Stopped for dinner while in town for a show and was hoping for authentic Chinese food. This definitely hit the spot. The Dan Dan noodles and Sai Do Si (peanut butter sandwich) were my absolute favorites, but everything we tried was good. I'd probably skip the dumplings just to leave room for other things. Definitely plan to come back and try more of the menu!

This place is Amazing! Everything about the place was perfect. The food was EXCELLENT! The service was kind, warm, and welcoming. The atmosphere was clean and orderly. The beef soup was excellent. The wontons were good. The egg desert was great. The music was tranquil. I HIGHLY recommend. I am posting from my business account but I assure you, I have eaten all over America and this place is in the top 3. Just try it. The price point is fair for the value, flavor, and portion size. The mango tea is great as well.

Exploring the world one plate at a time! Sun’s Kitchen 老孫家 is a hidden gem for traditional Chinese cuisine—no General Tso’s or Sesame Chicken here! The menu is packed with authentic dishes, and we’ll definitely be back for more. We kicked things off with the Dim Sum Flight, featuring pork buns, shrimp dumplings, siu mai, and xiao long bao—the dumplings stole the show. We even tried chicken feet (shock factor aside, they were actually really good!). Next up, the Skewer Flight: lamb, beef, broccoli, tofu, fish cakes, and mini sausages. The broccoli and beef skewers with spicy seasoning were our favorites. We also got a squid skewer, and wow—probably the best thing we had. The Dumpling Flight was a standout—each wrapper colored naturally with veggie juice. Flavors included pork & chive, beef & carrot, chicken & mushroom, veggie, and shrimp & chicken. Handcrafted and packed with flavor. For something different, we got the Beef Stew Rice Bowl—hearty and delicious. Washed it all down with classic jasmine tea, which was super refreshing. Sun’s Kitchen is the real deal for authentic Chinese flavors, and we’re already planning round two!
