Garbage. Waited in line for over 40min when the place wasn’t even half full. A bouncer, decided to start charging cover ($20 for the guys in our group) only when our group got to the front of line…at 11:40…so this wasn’t a time based cover charge, it seemed selective and discriminatory. The music wasn’t music, just noise and the lights could give even the healthiest person an epileptic seizure. Check out literally any other bar/club in West Hollywood for a better time.

Google
Waited almost an hour to enter this club. Everyone in front of our party was permitted entrance, including individuals who were allowed to cut the line at the front. Upon our party being next to enter we were presented with a QR code to pay a $22 admission fee. The bouncer touted “25 DJs” and a “mostly full house” - no other group was charged cover, including the females in our group. Blatant discrimination towards the males in the group given its location in West Hollywood. Nevertheless we opted to pay. Upon entry the club wasn’t full at all and a best a generic Spotify playlist was being played. We stayed all of 20 minutes. Do yourselves a favor and visit any other bar on the strip or Santa Monica Blvd, or even the rooftop bar upstairs. Also, the way the lights are designed in this place could cause an epileptic seizure even for the healthiest of people. Not recommended.

The place is beautiful, the view is amazing, the atmosphere is special, it is worth a visit, and the employee Dirk was special and kind in hosting us.

Amazing music wish I could visit there I love to be sober do they have monster energy and red bull

DO NOT GO HERE!! This should be a members only club. Apparently there isn’t general admission. We got to the front of the line—after and hour and a half of waiting—just to be told “you may only enter if you purchase a bottle service table.” The price was $3,500.00. We called the business before hand and they never mentioned this. Horrible service the African American guy in the front door was completely racist even to his own kind. He let whoever he want in and let people cut the line. Many parties, about 5 of them, left the line because of this same reason. He made it seem as if this was Bootsy Bellows. Attached are pictures of the uncultured pathetic individuals holding up the line. Theres a video where he argues with a customer about why he’s letting them cut the line.

This place has the potential to be one of the best places in Los Angeles. The interior is incredible! 100s of disco balls on the ceiling over the dance floor. Great place to dance with friends. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is the DJ is absolutely terrible. Every Friday night the same guy that thinks he’s good but can’t read the room what so ever. He’ll play high school hip hop songs from early 2000 and nonstop Drake songs when clearly no one in the room is dancing or wanting to hear those songs especially in LA. If this place could manage to get great DJs it could be the hottest spot in the city. Drinks are pretty pricey as well.

I was here in January 2024 This place is beautiful, overall great DJs and beautiful people. I was there for a birthday celebration. I noticed that it has mostly a gay crowd. The downside: The lack of proper ventilation is a problem. On a busy night, the heat and crowd create an uncomfortable atmosphere, and the poor airflow almost triggered a panic attack on me. Drinks are nothing phenomenal. The average heavy sugar plastic bottle juices mixed with alcohol. Overall: A beautiful night club that carries potential, but the lack of ventilation is of concern. Specially in an era of pandemics and new viruses spreading among people.

Walked in and it’s like getting smacked in the face with Studio 54 nostalgia—million disco balls hanging from the ceiling like they’re auditioning for a 70s fever dream. The vibe? Oh, it’s cool, no doubt. You feel like you’re one martini away from rubbing shoulders with some washed-up rock star. Now, the music? Yeah, it’s good, but it’s like they cranked that dial one notch past “let’s have a good time” and into “blow out my eardrums.” It’s loud, but not the fun kind of loud. We’re talking borderline distortion. It’s like they hired the DJ and forgot to hire anyone to adjust the soundboard. But the staff? Gotta give it to ‘em. The bartenders are fast, I’ll give ‘em that. Drinks could’ve been better though. Not terrible, but you know, it’s one of those nights where you’re sipping a cocktail and thinking, “Eh, I’ve had better from a mixology YouTube channel.” At least they don’t make you wait an hour to find out. And the door crew? Top-notch. None of that power-tripping bouncer nonsense. These guys were respectful, polite even. Almost makes you wonder if you wandered into the wrong nightclub. So, yeah, it’s got some pros, a few cons, but if you wanna feel like you’ve made it to disco heaven, this place’ll do the trick—just maybe bring some earplugs.

Yelp
Cool spot in LA. Sunset has a good mix of seating and dancing areas. They have a pool table too. Great vibes and energy! The bartender, Joe, is simply the best.

Yelp
I was charged $27 for ONE Tito's and soda. ONE. I do not care that it included a tip for your staff or healthcare or whatever. That is ridiculous. I do not see this club being sustainable. It's also a weirdly shaped space with and too big, oddly. And then the smaller more intimate room for private events is TOO small. The whole place is strange. Needs a major overhaul.

Yelp
I was there for a Grammys related event, so maybe that changes how things normally go here, but I really enjoyed myself. It was a guest list/RSVP only event. I expect shenanigans when I go out to any bougie LA club experience, so I was prepared to pay for expensive drinks and deal with egos, but my interactions with the staff were pleasant. Every person I spoke with in the line to get in were all nice. I was told not to touch the disco balls, which is fine. The ID and bag checker were both kind. Once I was in, you're def in a 70s inspired club. The disco ball ceiling is such a cool vibe, and the wall behind the DJ booth is lined with shelves and hundreds of vinyl. There was a percussionist playing with the DJs all night who was an amazing live element. And: DJ PeeWee showed up! Michael at the bar helped me and my friends all night and was great. He remembered what our drinks were when we came back for more and was actively searching for me at the end of the night to make sure I closed out my tab. Interested to come back when it's not a special event, but I had a great visit this time around.

Yelp
A lot of recent reviews are bad, but I went for the first time last weekend and was blown away. - Waited less than 5 mins to get in - No cover charge - Venue is so dope (pool table, ambiance, etc) - DISCO BALLS. I got the cleanest Lock Screen photo now - music was really fun & everyone's vibe was - Blown away by how many hot people there were there Maybe I just got lucky with the bouncer our night, but my crew had no issues with anyone. Definitely going back

Yelp
Pretentious. Lol. I wanted to see one of my favorite artists. And I got turned off from going because entry is solely at door-person's discretion.

Michael H.

Yelp
This club has completely fallen off. It doesn't have the same grown and sexy or private vibe it used to. Half the time there are kids in there and the other half it seems like they just let in anyone off the street. No standard at all. You don't have to let in every single person to make a club successful. Sometimes exclusivity is the selling point. The DJ also plays the same exact set list every. single. week. No exaggeration, I can tell you every song and the order of the songs. Evan at the door is very rude to guests and dismissive consistently. This club would absolutely benefit from hiring a new team including new promoters and a new DJ. We are begging for things to go back to how they were years ago!!

Gabe S.

Yelp
Terrible service, bouncer tried to say we weren't 21 at the entrance, but once realizing we were over 21 finally realized we were good. Still calling us names and being assholes . Terrible service 0 star review if possible absolute assholes of servers/security.
google avatar

Yelp
THE GOOD: *Beautiful room and dance floor complete with several disco balls and a wall of vinyl records. *Perfect sound & bass *Multiple bars to service the patrons *Easy dedicated entry off Doheny just below Sunset Blvd. THE NOT SO GOOD: *Drinks are $30 each - ridiculous *Bar tenders can have big attitudes *They charge $5 for water *They don't allow vaping inside, yet the security seems to look past the patrons doing coke on the dance floor. But you better not vape...

Z J.

Yelp
Waited 3.5+ hours in the front of the line and only two people got in. Finally asked them with both vip lines being full if anyone was gonna get in tonight, and they said no. They never told anyone in the line that they won't get in. So inconsiderate and rude.

Brianna A.

Yelp
this club has so much potential but continues to push a gay agenda within the last 2 years and I'm not sure why. I am supportive of inclusivity but when it comes to a point of heterophobia and disrespect it's unacceptable. This is not a gay club like those in WeHo boys town but it seems as if the new management is really trying to secretly force this new agenda. Majority of top nightclubs in LA are based in West Hollywood and do not push this agenda so heavily so I'm not sure why there was a change here. For example; Bootsy, Poppy, KEYS, Hyde, etc. the edition used to be the BEST club to go to pre-Covid and a little bit post-Covid. But now it's just terrible and is not a place we would consider even doing bottle service anymore as they do not cater to all sexualities. It's very unfortunate considering the high clientele within the hotel or in the city of LA alone who would not coming to a discreet club like this but no longer wish to because of this new transformation. I used to bring NBA clientele in for nights out while in town as a convenient, amazing option for dinner then a night at the club in one spot. They would never step foot in here now.

Yelp
Classic LA nightclub with an a*****e of a doorman. We waited in line for my friends birthday and they didn't let us in because of the way we looked. It was pretty rude! All we wanted to do was dance, spend money and have fun. We left after waiting for 45 min...

Yelp
Clubs in LA are the epitome of hit or miss..actually, they usually miss. Most Angelenos, myself included, have dealt with long lines to get in, egregious cover charges, and getting rejected at the door at one point or another (unless you're a Kardashian). That's why I really wasn't expecting much from Sunset, especially after reading all the bad reviews on Yelp. My wife and I went on a Friday night with another couple and we had a blast. The key was arriving early (10:30). There was no line, zero cover, and we got right in. Sure, there were only a few people there when we arrived but things filled up pretty quickly. The music was a mix of 90s era hip hop, a few older classics, pop, and modern EDM. There was a great crowd too with people from all walks of life, which is exactly the way a quality nightclub oughta be. And the drinks were strong in the best way. Highlight of the night was when the DJ threw on a mashup of "Pony" and "Toxic". Honestly, it just felt great to have a wild club night after almost three years of COVID. LA nightlife is back baby, and Sunset is proof of it.

Yelp
Came here to have a good time. At the entrance, apparently they tell everyone not to touch the disco balls, but I don't remember them saying that. Regardless, We go in and notice the disco balls and thought it was so cool. We don't even touch it, just point at it, and some guy comes and yells at us about it. I was wondering why there were so few people on the dance floor at a Saturday night. Now I know. Because some big guy at the dance floor made it a point that getting close to the disco balls 6 inches above our heads would get us kicked out. Well goodbye, I told everyone on there that way their way in not to go in. And will let everyone know not to come this place until I the establishment gets rid of that asshole. There's a difference between kindly reminding your patrons not to touch vs yelling at them. You just lost six single girls on your dance floor, good job.
google avatar

Lily G.

Yelp
Horrible bar. They host artists and clearly don't seem to have the capacity to let anyone in. Incredibly rude door staff. They waited to say no one with RSVPs was getting in until we were at the front of the line. Inconsiderate of everyone's time. Never go for anything hosted by an artist there
google avatar

Emerson H.

Yelp
This place is pretentious and not worth your time and energy. People get turned around at the discretion of the bouncers which is white and only allows their people in . Artist promote this place to rsvp and people come and make time to come early and get turned around by the bouncers. Horribly place even if you're there early and dressed accordingly

Yelp
I don't go to clubs because of the part where you are selected to get in or not, however, I went out because a friend was on the performer of the night's list. We show up and are told the club isn't open yet at about 10:20pm. There is a GA line and a VIP line. The GA line has about 20 people in it, the VIP has about 5. One door man sends us to the VIP line, so I was like great, we made it. The other door man looks at the 3 of us girls in the face and then sends us back to the GA line. My two friends decide to go into the hotel lobby for a drink to not wait in the cold and I'm just going with it, I could have waited or not but based on the other reviews, I'm glad I went in to the hotel lobby where it was warm and I was able to get a drink. By chance, my friend's friend was there, so we were able to enter the club with her. If it weren't for that, I would have rated this a 1 star experience because I really hate waiting and then being denied or hassled once at the front of a line. Not to mention being looked at and not making whatever cut that was. I would have been really annoyed. Now for the experience inside - the crowd was great at the start of the night, mixed crowd of all ages, sizes, and colors, so diverse. Around 1am it was all gay black men on a Friday night, so if you are a gay black man, this is where you go! If you don't know anyone there, don't go, it's not that great inside anyway. The disco ball section is kind of underwhelming. Most of the club is just in the dark with tables and square booths.

Jason R.

Yelp
Horrible venue to be at. Management is unprofessional and tried to harass me to be able to get in. They asked all my girlfriends to do a twist to get in and one of the mangers spanked them as they came in. Bald guy. Never going back again

Yelp
How to put this into a review ? This is my attempt . I've lived in LA for 10 years now. I've done the Vegas trips , Miami , New York - even London . . . and Sunset at EDITION is a space nightlife needed . I had the privilege of attending the 5 night opening and have returned a FEW times since - this club has far from disappointed . The team has an unparalleled memory and each individual has welcomed me back with a smile (and some with a hug) each time I've returned . Sunset at EDITION has a cooler than cool without trying to be cool vibe that most spots - especially in LA - lack . It's unbelievably stunning - I'd love to see a club in LA top the 300 disco balls lining the ceiling , the clean lines , and the seductive red low lighting . I have sent so many friends to this club (and the EDITION Hotel itself) and will continue to do so . Sunset is an experience anyone reading this should live at least once.

Sean L.

Yelp
I went there on May 12th 2022. We RSVPed and got tickets on Dice app. Arrived around 10:30 and then we're told that our tickets are not valid anymore. This is clearly a discrimination because of our age or accent. Other people were let in without an issue using their tickets on Dice. Nothing was mentioned about arriving at a certain time on the tickets.
google avatar

Lizette K.

Yelp
Bringing back the movement! Sunset at Edition is a tastefully designed basement club filled with energy and good vibes. With only a week of its grand opening, the line is already around the block. If you know, you know. Media will be buzzing about the new Hollywood hotspot, where you can order good drinks and dance the night away to great music in a room filled with hanging disco balls. The dance floor is truly magical. Truly an amazing experience.

Francisca S.

Yelp
If I could give zero I would, FUCK this place and the bouncers. So aggressive. Specially the bouncer at the dance floor. DO NOT GO HERE. Also expensive as fuck, paid $69 for 3 tequila shots.

Thalia C.

Yelp
I was really shocked to see how your security judged my party ( all latina Women) and made us all feel. As grown adults with money to spend and being rejected while seeing younger folks going in without being in the guest list or having a table go in is so disgusting. I'm sure this email won't do any dent to this type of behavior but I definitely have to say something. Being that I've worked at high end clubs as table coordinator and a bottle girl, this shit wouldn't fly. Anyway, it's 2022 y'all need to get it together and be better. So pretentious.

Steve N.

Yelp
Totally duche crowd. Door socks. Not what electronic music is about. Probably the worst club I've been to in over 30 years in LA. I was sad to see fans of neon Indian got rejected at the door. Doorman said for a g, they could get a table. Wtf. I felt bad to go in. Luckily I'm in the industry, so I had some privilege. I hate places that discriminate. Sound system kinda sucked. Basically if you want to have a good time don't go to sunset edition
google avatar

Catherine H.

Yelp
all of the low ratings for this place do it justice, so what's the harm in adding one more? don't waste your time here.

Samantha T.

Yelp
if I could give this establishment a zero I would. my party of 8 went to go celebrate my friend's birthday, 7 girls 1 guy. we were all dressed in appropriate club attire, we arrived early and when we met the bouncer he informed us the club wouldn't be open til 10:15. we waited in line when they were open. they proceeded to count us and told us to pull out our IDs. while we waited we saw 3 groups of all white guests walk straight up past the line and were let in with no questions asked. we were a bit confused as we saw several groups of all white people go in without even waiting in line and they were dressed so casual. several minutes we asked one of the 5 bouncers about our admission. he then proceeded to tell us the club was "guest list only" which was obvious BS. they clearly were basing this off race which I found shocking because all 5 bouncers were POC as well. There was a line behind us, and you guessed it, they were all brown. pretty obvious that they are judging at their discretion and from the looks of the reviews it's true that they are being racist towards POCs. I find this so ironic because their IG page is full of pics of POCS but everyone in the reviews experience the same discrimination. Save your time and effort and go somewhere actually fun like KTOWN or WEHO! this place is a joke

Megan W.

Yelp
The security at this place is horrible. You have to be careful who you give "power" to because some people take advantage of it and this place is filled with them. Very disorganized at the door with staff confused as to which line is which and giving wrong information to guests. Although we were invited by management and on "the list", we weren't able to even get direction as to where to go because the security was so rude and physical before we could even ask a question. I understand that sometimes it's hectic with drunk people but we were sober. You also have to be careful who you are rude to in LA because your business can get a bad rep pretty quickly. I expected better from a Marriott owned establishment. I'd be surprised if this place isn't already facing law suits with how their security acts. We ended up not even going in and had a better night for it.

Ben B.

Yelp
Long line, Bad service, false advertising, definitely not worth, I wouldn't waste my time here

Kaylee R.

Yelp
My friend was working here through promoter Romeo and they made us wait in the general admissions line for over 30 minutes. We were specifically instructed to ask for Marc to let us in and upon arriving we were told to wait while other people in our party were let in prior. When we asked multiple bouncers they either said they would speak with another worker or that they didn't know what was going on. They proceeded to ignore us while letting other guests into the club who also claimed to be on "guest list" and then were unaware that we were working with any promoter. We continued to ask them questions and our bouncer Marc said "not tonight... any other night but tonight" and refused to answer why we could not join the rest of our party. Not to mention we were promised a table and were later told that we would not receive any drink services. When we tried calling and texting Romeo he was unresponsive. I understand this is a new club but to host an event with staff that has no understanding of procedure or anything that is going on within the venue is beyond me and is why we will not be returning to Sunset at Edition. My friend was hired through the event staff as a promoter and table host and we will be contacting management in regards to receiving payment and exceptionally poor service. We were expecting to join a group of 10+ people and more than half of our group ended up leaving the venue and went to a different club.

Isabella M.

Yelp
Called multiple times about an event and was given the wrong information. It took two hours of waiting and interactions with security for someone to finally tell us that the event was not open to the public despite being told the opposite several times, days in advance and minutes before, as well as it being advertised on facebook and their social media as an open event.

Yas D.

Yelp
Zack and his security team are number one! If it wasn't for Zack I wouldn't have had such an amazing night filled with lifelong memories!

Baha D.

Yelp
We love this place! Great memories and great service. Special thanks goes out to Zac and the security team!!
