It was really busy when we put our name down but the hostess was communicating to us just where we were at in the queue. Our server was also amazing and kind. Jimena was great to us. We also got some uncommon drink recommendations from Arland and we all loved it. Great drinks and great foods. Definitely coming back

Don't be fooled by old reviews or the rating! Great place to eat at Snowshoe. The food was delicious and portions were large. Reagan was wonderful as a bartender and good conversations and atmosphere. Only downside is there's no WiFi in the place. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Group of 8 friends and I walk into a bar. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s worth the wait. Our waitress Jimana was exceptional. However, what made our experience into one we’ll never forget was the certified mixologist, Arland. Best bartender I’ve ever had and I’ll definitely be back!

Dude this rocked. We had the loaded nachos carnitas and my kid had the quesadilla. The nachos were really good. Great flavors, not just any ol' chips and cheese. My kid loved his quesadilla, and it came with sour cream and salsa. They even had coffee and hot cocoa for a super chilly day. Amazing service with a smile. A bit slower because they were short staffed (because of the giant snowstorm) but the guy up front warned everyone as they walked in, so our expectations were set right and we had a great time.

I never leave reviews and I am going to be so honest. Paying or chips and a TINY bowl of salsa is wild. We asked for a re fill and they brought a bowl half the size as the original which fed 2 of our 14 people. If you are serving that many people use context clues and bring a good amount of salsa out. The food was truly terrible we got half the menu and the only thing people enjoyed was the burrito. The fajitas was burns and they brought HOT lettuce and a ball of melted cheese. The quesadilla tasted like rubber chicken and tasted absolutely nothing else. So many random meals brought to our table multiple times for no reason. So much miscommunication between the staff and kitchen. It’s not that hard to make small changes, we didn’t get water when we sat we had to ask and it arrived with our food? They brought the loaded nachos to the table but didn’t bring plates for everyone to share? These are small things that are common sense. So much can be fixed if better workflow was implemented. If a server is not ready for a table why set them. It was very busy which we understood but the food itself was trash.

Arland was amazing!!!! Came here with a group of 8 & he took amazing care of us. Food tasted great & we had great cocktails. Jimena was also so kind & a great server!!

Oh Lord have mercy we had a blast in this place🤣🤣🤩🤩🤩 I'm a grandmother but I felt like I was at an MTV spring break party it was so exciting it was so awesome the food was to die for the street tacos steak platters the seafood platter the sangria was authentic sangria😎 Don't forget to ask for the tequila tower and Michael will help you with that he's the best waiter we've ever had it's a blast in here I didn't wanna leave and check on the children🤣🤣🤣 We came back three times in one day it's so worth it I love it the crew is amazing they love their jobs and they love their customers Michael you are the best I will be looking for you everywhere I go🩷💋😎❤️ When I get a picture of my grandson I will post it on your Google site so watch for us please we love you guys we'll see you in 11 1/2 months🤣🤣😎🥳❤️💋🤩 PS the street tacos were awesome for breakfast the next morning! One of the few options in Snowshoe, WV. I wish we would have tried somewhere else. No free chips and salsa to start. Food was mid. My margarita had a HAIR in it. The only positives is that you can get a decent view of the sunset, waiter was decent, and the portion sizes were good. (But I couldn't bring myself to eat my leftovers due to the thought of a dirty hair in my margarita.) Ultimately, overpriced and overrated. Bummed!

It's the best mexican food within several miles of the mountain ;) The service is great, and the views are incredible no matter the season.

This solid Mexican restaurant serves up tasty dishes and delicious margaritas in a casual but extremely cramped setting in the heart of the Snowshoe ski resort. Wait times can be excruciatingly long, especially at the peak of ski season, and the small bar is inconveniently located at the back of the dining room, making it almost impossible to visit while you're waiting for a table. Once we were seated, though, the food and drinks arrived quickly, and service was excellent. My chicken fajitas were surprisingly good, and the tacos were decent. One of the better dining options at Snowshoe, Sunset Cantina is also a good spot for breakfast.

They now serve breakfast, so we stopped in. Our server, Zack, was awesome! They even turned on the Newcastle soccer game for my husband when they saw his jersey without us asking. Food was super fast and really really good. I had the breakfast bowl, and my husband had the burrito. Recommend both!

The food was good but not great. Not much flavor in the rice and beans. I ended up adding cholula to everything. The margarita was delicious though. My fiancé had the bloody Maria and really liked that too.

Short wait but totally worth it. Not sure whey the low reviews-we had a great experience. Food was great but margs were pricey. I lost my voice-and when dinner was over Debbie brought me lemon tea. So sweet!

This was the best restaurant we experienced on the mountain! Seated quickly, food came out in a very reasonable amount of time, and the service was great. I had the chicken quesadilla - so good. My husband had the mahi tacos. The mango salsa was so good. We will definitely be back!

We had an excellent experience here when we visited the mountain in 2024. Our server, London, was amazing. Super attentive and friendly, and even stayed a few minutes past his normal exit to make his "epic" hot chocolate for our friend's kid who was finishing up his lessons. The tacos are super tasty, and they have a great selections of options. We had the chips and queso and the portion was huge. The tacos come with two corn tortillas each, which is my preference as the tortillas can get fragile. We ordered the pitcher of the jalapeno margarita, which was really tasty, but I say make it spicier! Very good experience and will go back again the next time we visit the mountain.

As a san Franciscan used to top tier Mexican food. we thought this would be unedible, it was edible!!!!! Service was basic same with ambience If I wasn't San Franciscan I would recommend.

45 minutes with no service. No water. Nothing. Finally order was made, no cilantro for margaritas and order was cold. Michael, the manager stepped in and handed the situation professionally. Kudos to him.

Carnitas fajita was Cisco BBQ over grilled onions and peppers. It was not carnitas but a bbq pork in bbq sauce in a tortilla.

It was easy to get a large table here in mid-January. The staff were wonderful, especially our server, Jennifer. I was impressed that there were multiple vegetarian and vegan options that had great flavor (tofu jerk tacos with mango pico, especially). My kids loved the taco salad. Guac was fresh. Beans and rice were meh, but the other flavors made up for it. The ambiance is pretty chill with lots of skiiers and boarders taking a lunch break.

Decent Mexican food. We got chips and queso, combo fajitas, a quesadilla, beer and a margarita. The service was good too. The food runner brought me the wrong fajitas at first but quickly recognized the mistake and corrected it.

Was really hungry while skiing so popped in here for lunch on a Thursday. It was crowded but they were able to seat us right away. The waiter was nice and got our orders quickly. The food took a decent amount of time to come out which was probably the restaurants biggest downfall. When the food came out it was pretty good. I got a cheese enchilada. The sauce was pretty good and they were filling. They were ~$13. A filling meal with skiing but it took a little long and nothing special

The staff made my group of 10 wait 1 hour after we checked in but there was an open table for 10. They played music. The food was barely edible.They charge you for the chips and salsa. They don't give you an option to customize your tacos or burritos. My root beer tasted like a sugar overdose.

This place is cutely decorated, excellent staff, but the food is just horrible. Would be better to have a Chipotle or Qdoba in this location where the food has flavor, depth, and spice. Seriously the food is SO BAD. Mexican food should not be this difficult! It's bland and tasteless and everything has the vibe of coming from a can or frozen--and yet it's fancy ski resort prices. Few vegetarian/vegan options, which should be simple for Mexican. I've been here twice this winter and it's been equally disappointing so we will not return on our other ski trips this winter, hopefully it will be gone by next season and replaced with real Mexican food. The staff is lovely, 5* for the staff. But avoid this place if you want an edible meal. It's an insult to Mexican food unfortunately.

Crummy food in a crummy atmosphere. Loud and totally soulless. Tacos were on par with fast food but $10 each and lukewarm. Beans and rice were stone cold. I think the waitress was spaced out on something and got her bling from somewhere else. But I think this is the low cost restaurant in the village. (This reminds me to go watch "the office" the movie.) The can of beer was good. It's a shame. There once was an upscale Mexican place where cheat pizza is now. If you have a family to feed, are not picky, and on a budget I would go for it. Don't expect much from the tacos but they could be good for the kids.

The ginger bartender man was extremely rude. He overcharged us on drinks and when we were questioning our bill he was disrespectful and not willing to talk to us. Food was also extremely average. Our server however was very good and always checked on us.

We were sat and served quickly and our waitress (Faviana) was very good. But the food was just average and the bartender was a complete jerk. Overcharged for the drinks and then had an attitude when we tried to question it. There are much better places to eat in the village.

Hostess Excellent Bartender Excellent Waitress Cassie Wonderful Food Quality OK Chef Experience (did not get her name) AWFUL. Ordered food with no beans, beans on plate and juice running. Son politely asked for meal with no beans. Chef came over and said "what is wrong?" She remade meal (maybe) and came and dropped on the table and said "here, made from the chef". Cassie was so embarrassed and instantly apologized and comped that item. So rude FYI: we waited over 1hr for food and never complained about a thing.

We stopped here for a quick lunch while skiing. It took 10 minutes to get a table. Then, after placing our order, it took 55 minutes to get our food, and 2 of the entrees were wrong. Bottom Line - if you enjoy your time on the slopes, don't eat here,

The service was super slow. All the waitress did was talk to other staff. She did not care about our needs at all and rarely came by our table. It took over an hour to get our food. Overall not a good experience. Do not recommend.

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE This restaurant is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I am not sure why it even exists. The rice tastes like you are eating rocks. The chicken is most definitely not chicken and it is most likely ground up cat mixed with dog. Also the salsa is basically non-existent. It was just liquid and had absolutely no taste. It was $160 for 7 of us. Completely outrageous. The only reason this place is in business is because there are a limited number of restaurants in Snowshoe. The black beans were a bit crusty. The chips were the best part and they were mediocre at best. Please save your teeth and stay away from this "Restaurant"

Absolutely the nastiest shit I've ever put in my mouth. The salsa is just like ground up watermelon juice. The steak smells like propane and the rice will make a Mexican National PUKE!!!

Avoid at all costs. The food was average, small portioned, and extremely overpriced. I took over an hour to get our food. The waitress was unable to answer a question truthfully when asking about the food. The margaritas had a mountain of salt at the bottom of it. If you have to go here get the quesadillas as that's the only thing you can order to get a decent amount of food. The burrito was decent but for $17 and you only get a small burrito, not worth it. When we put our name in ahead of time, we showed up when they told us to and told us we had another 30-45 minutes left.

Holy wow, this is as bad as it gets for generic Mexican. We paid 15$ for salsa, and they brought us ragu pasta sauce . Seriously, do yourself a favor and pick anything else on the mountain other than this pile of

I'm only writing this review because after walking door to door in the village where every restaurant had a wait time, this one seated us immediately. After looking at the reviews I was scared. This was above and beyond for a tourist trap setting. Food was great. Service was good. Prices were right. Highly recommended.

Best service on the mountain from the bartender Brian. He is attentive to all his customers with a smile and friendly story.

My wife and I got 3 street tacos each. My son got a burrito. They were all delicious. The service was great. We had eaten here a couple of years ago and were underwhelmed. However, the new menu and the enthusiast staff make it a whole different experience. We'll be back soon!! One of me new go to's on the mountain.

Long wait to be seated (even though there were MANY empty tables-I get it though. they are short staffed). the hostess was rude AF. The server was nice during our brief encounter. food took WAY TOO LONG. I saw the kitchen staff actually reading the menu as they were cooking. Food was ok, however my boyfriend and I got the same taco (Mahi Mahi), and they were made completely different. they did not even look like the same taco. different toppings, etc. When we got the bill, it was ridiculously high. $5 for a small side of (bland) salsa??? almost $70 for 2 combo plates, 1 soda, 1 beer and a side of Salsa. The staff looked like it was a brand new place that just opened. Nobody knew what was going on. Avoid at all costs.

If you like the combo deal of terrible AND expensive, then this is the place for you! Went here yesterday with the fiancé and first off, they told us approx. a 30 minute wait. We went elsewhere and hung out outside in the snow having a beer for 30 minutes, then nobody ever called us, so we went back to check in. There were loads of empty tables inside, just the hostess just forgot to call us. So basically we would never have been notified to come if we hadn't gone back to prompt them to do their job. We got a pork enchilada and Mahi mahi tacos as well as appetizer nachos. The nachos were super bland and obviously someone just glopped some lukewarm white cheese and canned beans over them and put it on a plate and gave it to us. I could have made Better nachos and I don't cook much. Fiancé's enchilada was dry and rubbery and had obviously been sitting out for a while. My mahi mahi tacos were a joke. I asked for corn tortilla (got flour, whatever), the fish itself was lukewarm but when taking a bite, the taco felt cold. At first I was questioning if anyone even cooked this at all. I decided it was the green salsa they put on them that obviously came straight from a refrigerated jar and glopped onto the tacos. I had also ordered a margarita, which I was unable to tell if it even had much tequila at all in it. I think they put a lot of chopped up jalapeños in it to try and mask the fact that there's little to no tequila in it. So I switched to a double whiskey/coke. It also tasted mostly like just coke... whatever. But then we get the bill. I was charged for a "double crown and coke", when firstly, I didn't ask for Crown, asked for whiskey, which in the rest of the civilized world means "well". So then I'm doubly annoyed that I am not sure that I even got double well, but being charged on the check for a double top shelf Crown. So I asked the waitress about this, she claims she talked to the bartender and that it was correct. There is absolutely no way that was a double pour of any sort of fortified spirit. That bartender certainly hasn't been accused of being heavy handed before. So basically I paid $17 for a Coca-Cola. TL;DR: This place is both EXPENSIVE & TERRIBLE food with semi-competent staffing. If that's what you're looking for, then this is the place for you. I would not go back and I wouldn't advise anyone else to even go there for the first time. This place obviously has no interest in catering to any repeat business and their business model is just to prey off of tourists that don't know any better and likely won't be back anyway.

Don't bother! Israel makes a great drink, but nothing was available on the menu and what we had wasn't good. Not worth the time and $.

Literally do not eat here and thank me later. My food came out in 5 minutes - red flag #1. Rice and beans were crusty, the Chicken was so dry I felt like i had cottonmouth. So very disappointing, especially because there aren't many options to choose from in the first place on this mountain. Let's get Bar Rescue up in here because the place has potential. I would choose an elementary school cafeteria lunch over what I just ate, or maybe just not eating at all

Go service, and good food. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is comfortable. It's right in the heart of the village, so it's convenient if you are in the area.

I've been here no less than ten times this season and it has become a standby when I'm at Snowshoe. Not only the food is about as good as it can get at Snowshoe, but the staff is awesome. Their chips and salsa are the rage and besides the fish tacos, their other selections have improved in quality. And their margaritas are superb. The new bartender is one of the most experienced at Snowshoe, and therefore the bar is usually packed. A very good experience overall.

Really good steak quesadilla but super crowded and poor service. Ordered a tequila sunrise that came after my food and was loaded with ice and minimal liquid. Wouldn't race back.

We were hesitant to go here due to some of the previous reviews, but really wanted Mexican so gave it a try. So glad we did, it was delicious and service (Alyssa) was great. Some dishes were better than others, but overall really good. It's not your typical Mexican, it's a little more upscale in the food offerings so be open to that and you will not be disappointed! One of the best margaritas I've ever had too! Also I inquired about taco dinner being too large (comes with 3 tacos) and was told we could just order 1 or 2 if I wanted - 2 was plenty and made price so reasonable - nice option!

Tyler and Robert were super bartenders. The Moscow Mule was the best I have had. The chips and dips were great. Very helpful and friendly bartenders.

We come to Snowshoe every weekend and Sunset Cantina has become our GO-TO spot. Robert and Tyler are awesome bartenders and always make us feel right at home. The food is awesome- especially the nachos. If you're in Snowshoe, you absolutely have to stop by.

Stopped in for dinner because all the other options were an hour+ wait. We're immediately seated at the bar and drink orders taken promptly. Had to flag the bartender back down to get food orders in, but no biggie she was pretty busy. Ordered guac and chips as a starter - don't bother. Came out incredibly fast, but small portions and relatively bland, very meh. Steak fajitas and steak quesadillas for the main course - fajitas were mediocre at best. Kind of lukewarm temp and just no flavor at all, even the veggies seemed to lack any and all flavor. Quesadillas were a bit better, with good presentation, but nothing to write home about. Very friendly and attentive staff at the bar, but just sub-par food.

We had a large group and waited over an hour for our tables which is understandable. Out of 17 meals, about 4 were acceptable...most were cold one had hair in it. The chicken dishes lacked chicken. On a positive note, the nachos were great. I think they were overwhelmed and could not handle the crowd.

This place wasn't open on a ski season Friday!! Walked in, sat down, 20min later somebody came to the table to tell us they were closed for a private event. No sign or anything, really? They will be out of business just like every other restaurant that is dying in the basement of Mountain Lodge. What a joke.

Best place to get a good meal on the mountain. Tacos a la carte are a little pricey, but very good. Burritos are the indisputable go-to. Service is usually very reasonably quick (15-20 minutes with a normal crowd). Staff are friendly and quick to help you out and answer questions. Jake and Tyler know their stuff in the kitchen, and food is always seasoned and cooked properly. Consistency is key and Cantina definitely has it down to a science.

Had a really fun night out with friends after skiing. Our waiter, Mitchell was really fantastic and took great care of us. Food and drinks were good. Ask for Mitchell!
