Sunset Stoop

Having just moved from San Diego to NY last year, I have been on the hunt for bars that have good music. In So Cal, there are any number of bars that have great bands. However, other than paying for tickets in the usual music halls, bands that I enjoy have been elusive (except for blues or jazz because those are plentiful in NYC). Sunset stoop is a 3 minute walk from my house and last year, they had a great band that we really enjoyed. But, we kept searching for other spots. And other than a few notables, we find ourselves realtively disappointed. Last night we were desperate for music and we tried Sunset Stoop again and, I kick myself for this, WHY AM I SEARCHING SOMEPLACE WHEN GOOD MUSIC IS 3 MINUTES FROM ME??? Try this place out. Its small. The service is good even though there is usually only one bartender and lots of patrons, drinks are reasonable, and the music and atmosphere is excellent.

Barkeep and owner Roberto is friendly. Came on a slow Sunday to get some reading done and stayed for the great tunes, a mix of disco, soul, funk, and global music. Will definitely return for live music and other events. Good selection of cocktails, wine, beer, and drink specials. Never get rid of the Texas 2 Step, yall!! $9, can't beat it PLUS, they have spacious and clean bathrooms with bidets. Do you see how magnificent this throne is?? 🤩⛲

Amaya is the best vibe. I look forward to seeing her on Tuesdays after a long week of work! A true gem to the sunset park community. 5 stars all around!!!!

Such a blessing this spot exists! As a south Brooklyn native and current resident I’m so glad to have this. The owner is a sunset park native and stays true to the neighborhood while also offering a space for fringe community, music, and art. Unpretentious. Just funky and real. Great program with a dope variety of music and entertainment. Good thoughtful drinks. Spacious backyard. Just immaculate vibes. New gem of South Brooklyn 😻

Went with my friends earlier this week and had a great time, came back and the bartender had no real way to check ids. Told me my id looked fake and made me leave. I have never had this experience before. Bring a passport if you are from out of state

We live just a block away and it took us a long time to patron this spot because of other factors, drinking less, saving money, etc. We finally came for a birthday party for one of our friends and we were so pleasantly surprised by the prices, quality of drinks, & vibes! We will definitely come back and sincerely apologize for snoozing on this spot as long as we did.

Thank you, Roberto! We attended opening night and danced the night away with the Soneros del Oriente (I think that was the name of the Salsa band) 🎶 . We had an amazing time! The ambiance was top tier with a diversity of people of all ages and ethnicities. It felt like you were "en familia". Very cute neighborhood spot with an additional spacious outdoor space. Karaoke 🎤 night was lots of fun as well. Roberto has a variety of events during the week/weekend. I encourage you to attend because we certainly will be attending again!
