"This place is everything. From the same owners of Milk Bar just a few blocks away, Sunshine Co. is a bar and restaurant that literally serves up sunshine. They truly have it all: amazing cocktails, delicious food and a great atmosphere. We really could go on forever about the gorgeous interior - the smooth walnut chairs, the ribbed glass that creates hazy dreamlike lighting and the TILE. Best floor in Brooklyn! But we would add that they also have beautiful people (inside and out) as their staff. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted with welcoming smiles and the service never faltered. We recommend the Cheese Toast with apple cranberry compote, house made ricotta, honey and arugula. Pair that with a Frankie Dettori cocktail (Four Roses Bourbon, Amaro Montenegro, house-made cinnamon syrup, espresso, orange bitters) for a perfect afternoon snack." - Aki Carpenter & Chris Huban

We were trying to go to a different brunch spot down the street, but they had a 45 minute wait. We stumbled upon this little piece of sunshine and couldn't have been happier. No wait, great outdoor seating, and the food was incredible plus reasonably priced. The biscuits and gravy were 🔥 try them out

Okay, let me start by saying I adore Sunshine Co. I visited there a few years ago with a friend and had the eggs Benedict and it was amazing! So I decided to bring my friends to try it out. Unfortunately this go round we had a few mishaps, but the food was still good in my opinion. My friend had steak & eggs and asked for it medium well. She wanted it more pink than it was. I had hair in both of my plates and the servers apologetically brought me new food. The server we had was great although he didn’t know much English. We all had a Frozen Pomegranate Margaritas. The drink was good and the rim was a bit spicy. It was a nice day, so we sat outside and enjoyed the breeze. Overall, I would recommend this place. It’s a chill environment to have a nice meal.

This is a solid spot for cocktails and appetizers. A little on the pricier side for what it is, but everything we’ve ordered here on the few times we’ve been has been delicious. We’re big fans of the pâté and the fritters. Service was quite good, and it was definitely not busy on a Tuesday night, so no wait. Apparently it’s an awesome brunch spot, TBD on that one. I’d say this is nearer to a 4.5, but since we’ve been here on repeat occasions and they’re consistent they deserve a little bit of a bump.

The service & drinks were top notch. Felt right at home! I had the grits & it was pretty mediocre, nothing to phone home about. Highly recommend the beverage that contributes to abortion services, drinking for a cause!

There was a long wait to order during the brunch rush, but the food was worth it. I'd recommend the Brussel Hash dish as a must have for brunch. The cold brew left a lot to be desired, so any coffee aficionados shouldn't go in with too high expectations.

So , 3 stars. However , the food itself is about a 4 , drink was a 5. I docked two stars for the service. I came here last month for my birthday brunch after visiting the museum. I was alone , so when I got there , I was immediately greeted by the hostess ( who was super friendly) and sat at a table and that was certainly appreciated because they were busy outside and inside. I waited a bit and the waitress came over asking what I wanted for a drink. I ordered the Bloody Mary. It took them about 10 mins. Another waitress stopped by to check for the drink and it finally came. My food then arrived and the eggs Benedict was delicious. The roasted potatoes that came with were yummy as well.

Sunshine is on the corner of the street we live on, so my husband and I come in often - mostly for brunch. It’s a wonderful, warm place - and we feel really lucky to be locals and regulars! The staff is incredible. Their bartenders, servers, and host have all been there for a really long time, and they’re all amazing. One of our favorite brunch cocktails (The Five Petals) uses an egg-white merengue - which requires a tremendous amount of shaking and takes serious skill to get perfectly cloud-like - and these guys nail it every time no matter which bartender makes it. Also recommend the apricot sausage - sooo good! It comes 3 small patties to an order, and it’s the perfect sweet/savory balance. Inside it’s a a mix of high-top tables in the front, a good amount of seating at the bar, and booth-seating with larger tables toward the back. In the summertime, their outdoor seating is perfect for people watching, and/or having lunch with your dog. It’s a wonderful place, with really good food, run by awesome people. Highly recommend!

5* Brooklyn brunch is a high watermark. Here, to succeed you have to get the mix of tradition, expectation and originality just right. Getting my 5* here is like Usain bolt winning the 100m dash, while throwing shot-put in one hand, and the discus in the other. They almost get things right here. The peak is the Brussels sprout has. Cooked just right, with flavour to burn. Subbing out the bacon for avocado is a good call. The sprouts have flavour enough to bring the avo to its best. I could whine about the cup-of-joe. But I guess I'll take NYC's predictably insipid coffee flavoured water over a new york interpretation of flat white (no, not a euphemism for an Anglo cadaver). My friend's grits and shrimp didn't quite make it. The burger was good without being great. All in all, it's a great spot for good food.
