Sunshine Colony

Order a chilled orange wine in peak Catskills summer, and sit on the front porch people watching. Or in the depths of winter, the bar is super cozy and welcoming. Can't go wrong.

Great natural wine and cute vibes. We sat at the bar, which is where you also order, but there is also a side room and patio for nice days. We got a bottle of sparkling brut rose pet nat and it was delicious. Highly recommend coming here.

Many menu items weren't available. Food was good though.

Sunshine is exactly where you want to be. Meg and Kevin (and Meg) are the hosts with the most, and it shape shifts year round with food pop-ups. It’s a centerpiece of the community and for good reason.

Lovely wine bar! Great music and vibe. (It's located on 47 Main St, but google maps has it pinned in the middle of nowhere. I suggested the edit, but just be aware)

Cozy wine bar that feels like you’re just hanging out in someone’s living room. Bartender was incredibly sweet and the wines were fantastic.

What an exceptional experience at brunch today. I took my pups for a hike and then wandered into Sunshine Colony. They had whole smoked trout with veggies as one of their specials today and my pups and I were in heaven. For $30 a platter, there was no hesitation to order another. The first plate was locked clean. My pups are now napping and likely dreaming of what they just experienced. Staff are warm and easy-going. There is lovely live music being played 5 feet in front of us. The outdoor wood urine oven, fresh vegetables and lovely drinks add to the entire experience. Hidden gem!

Adorable wine and craft beer bar in Livingston Manor! They have a fun selection of drinks - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I enjoyed a smooth ginger beer and my fiancé enjoyed his beer. The owner was super knowledgeable and helpful in making our selections. We also loved the space. They have amble outdoor seating in their beautiful, backyard garden space. It was very peaceful. They also have a cozy indoor space for when the weather changes.

Husband and I loved this place. Cute garden furnished with what looks like an assortment of antique/junk shop finds, with tables arranged around an impromptu outdoor kitchen serving good basic food, locally sourced, unfussily prepared and very good. We had a kale and red oak leaf lettuce salad which was punctuated by addictive spicy crunchy chick peas. The dressing was a bit salty but packed a lot of flavor. A side of orzo salad was just right, and the side of corn on the cob came right off the grill, slathered with butter and herbs. Portions were generous. The vibe is kind of like a backyard party. Even the music was fun (Brazilian when we were there). Our Negroni cocktail was well mixed and the glass of orange, skin contact wine (they had two on the menu) was kind of a revelation, it was so good. Service was as casual as everything else -- you order from the bar, take your drinks out to a one of the tables sporting mason jars full wild flowers, and of napkins and utensils, and then a waitress then brings your food.

I stopped by sunshine colony yesterday because I knew it was not to be missed on my visit to the area. I've been a fan of drinking upstream and owner Megs taste in all things wine/booze/and food for a long time. I was impressed by the covid setup, especially the huge backyard seating area (with heaters). There was a great selection of beers (I got a watermelon sour) and some snacky plates (yum tuna tartine). I'll be back in the next few months and here's hoping the outdoor space is able to be open into the colder months. This is surely a gem of the area

Literally the best. Fantastic wine, great food, gorgeous backyard and patio. The owners and staff are the nicest people and they are mindful and thoughtful about social distancing and covid regulations. I could not recommend this place enough, you will leave feeling like you've just made a bunch of new friends.

This bar is a gem of Main Street. Gorgeous space, excellent array of wine and some delicious snacks. During covid they have made a lovely backyard space with a great vibe. Must visit!

This place is the best. Had the most amazing meal there and hope they continue to have guest chefs come visit! Lovely owners. Lovely vibe. A must stop if you're in town.

Surprised at how average and extremely overpriced the food/drink is. Nothing was offensive, nothing stood out. Also literally the most indifferent staff here. It feels like we just seated ourselves in someone's backyard but they didn't care at all whether we were there or not. Maybe they're nicer if you're a regular from in town but listen, just cause it's decorated all cute doesn't make it worth stopping by if you're visiting.

The team at Sunshine Colony gets it right - bringing thoughtfully curated, delicious wines and tasty bites to the Catskills. Great service. Check out their wine shop, Upstream Wine & Spirits, down the road.

Super cute bar downtown! We were happy to find a place open on a Tuesday. Nice selection of beer, cocktails and snacks!

I was very exited when I learned my favorite local(ish) wine shop was opening a wine bar . The owner Meg is very hospitable. They will do their best to answer any wine question you may have. Post Covid they have opened the back garden and front porch. Both are very calming places to spend an afternoon or early evening. I've enjoyed all of the food I have had here and am looking forward to trying some oysters on one of my next visits.

I found this place to be charming and cozy. We were staying at The North Branch inn one town over and someone recommended we go to check this spot out and it did not disappoint. Friendly knowledgeable people working behind the counters that enjoy good conversation and good food and booze. Would highly recommend!!

I love this place for the great wine, service, and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is pleasant and kind. They have really creative snacks. I enjoy it so much I come back just about every week! With Covid wreaking havoc on bars, restaurants and and small businesses of all kinds, I'm so grateful that they've been able to stay open and adapt. I'll always root for them and I'm hopeful that Sunshine Colony will make it through this pandemic.

Love this wine bar! Cozy and cultured atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of wine and central location.

This is a really charming place to try natural wines and local craft beers. During COVID, they've got tables set up in the front and back yards with a bar on the front porch. I appreciate their vigilance in disinfecting the bathroom between each use. The thing that really made my visit stand out was the owner taking time to walk me through my curiosity about natural wines and even write down some things for me to try. Looking forward to my next visit!

Not sure you could ask for a cuter spot for a drink and bite in the western Catskills. The owner is lovely and has a deep knowledge and passion for wine (and a wonderful wine store, Upstream, down the street!) A special place indeed.

It doesn't get any better than Sunshine Colony. Incredible wine, tapas, service, music, plants! The porch vibes are my personal favorite. The owners have done an amazing job making their customers feel safe and comfortable during Covid as well. Lots of love all around!

Always the best wine selection, awesome food and the nicest people! I stop by Sunshine Colony every time I visit Livingston Manor, I am always excited to learn about all the new wines they are serving up. Last time I was there I learned about a Georgian skin contact wine, so good! The owners and staff are very welcoming and they adhere to all the covid guidelines which makes us feel extra safe. Always a great place to refuel & chill out, I can't wait for my next visit!

It's so great to have a sunny, outdoor and beautiful space to enjoy a glass of wine during these strange times. If you need a break and to be greeted by a friendly smile and a glass of natural wine, highly recommend it. The small bites are super tasty, too!

Nope, will not return here again. Something went wrong that was not their fault, and we were not blaming them but still felt they were responsible. Sometimes the food is bad and you just need to graciously take care of it versus acting like a petulant child. I would have given them another chance since it wasn't their fault but I wont return because of the way it was handled. Moments like these can be a chance to make a loyal customer, or lose them altogether.
