I absolutely adore both of the Sunshine Spice locations. But this location in downtown Boise is utterly charming! We fell in love with the sweet nook in the window. The atmosphere of the cafe is calm and is the perfect spot if you're on you're own and want to treat yourself or if you want a fun first date. It would be wonderful for a good time with friends and family as well, though I probably wouldn't take super young children there, but I will let you use your own judgement on that. The baked goods and especially the cardamom coffee are divine. I have never had a single thing at Sunshine Spice that I didn't love. Their items are made with loving care and attention to detail. You don't have to take just my word for it either, they are James Beard Award nominees. I adore their baklava, Turkish coffee, raspberry tart, and their chocolate/hazelnut choux with craquelin. (If you want a fuller review you can check out what I wrote about their other location on Fairview Avenue.)

I recently visited this Turkish café that came highly recommended by a popular YouTuber, and I was particularly excited to try their pistachio latte. I ordered both the pistachio latte and the Ube latte, and at first glance, they looked fantastic—beautifully presented with vibrant colors and a wonderful aroma that made my mouth water. However, upon tasting them, I was a bit disappointed. The flavors didn’t live up to my expectations. The pistachio latte lacked the rich, nutty taste I was hoping for, and the Ube latte didn’t have the distinct sweetness and earthiness of purple yam. It made me wonder if the colors were just from food coloring rather than actual ingredients, or if they simply didn’t add enough pistachio and Ube. On a positive note, the café itself is beautifully decorated, with a bright and elegant interior that makes it a lovely place to relax and unwind. It’s definitely a spot where you could spend some time daydreaming or catching up with friends. As for the desserts, the fruit tart was quite good, but the other sweets didn’t really stand out for me—unfortunately, they were a bit underwhelming. Overall, while the café has a lot of potential and a great atmosphere, the coffee and desserts didn’t quite meet my expectations, leaving me a bit disappointed. I hope they can improve on the flavors to match the quality of their presentation.

This is a lovely coffee shop with a lot of unique options. I had the cardamom latte, raspberry tart and the spinach/mozzarella. The coffee was especially good and I love how the tart wasn’t too sweet. They have so many different flavors I can’t wait to try them all.

I’m so thrilled that Sunshine Spice has opened in downtown Boise! Unfortunately, the timing was awful and there is a large roadwork project right on their street. Please don’t let that stop you from seeking them out! The sidewalk is open. You can enter at Idaho and 10th. Try a cardamom or saffron latte. The hazelnut and passion fruit tarts are divine and they have an entire rainbow of gluten free cookies that are delicious!!

I met a friend of mine here who has been to the other location. He wanted me to try the dumplings. They are not at the downtown location. We tried a few different things and enjoyed them all. We liked the cheddar spinach but thought it would've benefited from a stronger cheese like feta. Everything was served at the perfect temperatures. The lemon cake was perfectly warmed and not too hot. Baklava was the correct consistency to cut with a fork and not sickingly sweet, very well balanced. The pudding was good, we like a bit more pistachio flavor, but it was still really good. He had the Cardamon Coffee, and I had cinnamon. Both were perfect.

New downtown location opened up & it's so cozy & chic. Get there early or you might miss out on favorites like chocolate choux. I don't think they have a kitchen like in the original Fairview location, so, unfortunately, no Afghani dumplings but they have so much dessert, from spiced saffron cookies & lemon cakes to chocolate & elegantly paired fruit tarts. Everything here is great.

Sunshine Spice is downtown now too?!? Amazing! Same great food, atmosphere, and team. Thank you Sunshine Spice for adding this location. Looking forward to spending many more mornings and lunch breaks here, with some spiced tea or a saffron latte and fresh pastries. ♥️😃

Best coffee ☕️ in idaho hands down! The food options were amazing location and decor was top notch. Absolutely worth the drive to try this place out. If you want good coffee and a fair price then this is the place to go better than any other coffee place I tried in the Boise area.

Yelp
the location is great! right down town. Parking isn't great but that's what you should expect down town. The inside is nice and clean with glass around all the parties so you can view them clearly. We ordered a lemon tart and it had great flavor, a Tatere with a side of salsa... this was very good. it had potato instead so it was very soft and great with the salsa. We also got a baklava.. not so great. the flavor was good but the top layers weren't baked right and was a little tough.. not crispy. I wouldn't get it again. you can see the top layer in my photo. We also got the mozzarella and spinach pastry. that was also good but lacked a little flavor and when we cut into it, the pocket was very empty with just tue insides at the bottom. Our friend got a pistachio tart and it was great. For drinks we got an iced americano that was good and an iced mocha that was good. They don't have any sugar free syrups. The woman behind the counter gave great service and was helpful. I will come again to try other items on their menu.

Yelp
Stopped in today to grab a coffee. I am moving locations for my work and now this sweet joint is next door! Walking in, it's very vibrant and delicate. There's beautiful displays of baked goods. All the pastries displayed looked elegant and delicious. They were so pretty that you almost didn't want to eat them. The beautiful employee saw me walk in. I was greeted as she walked behind the counter. I checked out their drink menu. Everything looked fabulous but I went with a small vanilla mocha. I love that they have flavors like saffron and cardamom available. It makes their shop that much more unique. I hung out for a bit so soak in the environment. There's two comfy nooks with beautiful pillows by the window. It allows you to embrace the moment and beauty of downtown. While checking out the vibes, I sipped on my mocha. It was just the right temp and sweetness. It was definitely a great way to start my Sunday morning. I'm looking forward to checking out more of their beverages and goodies. If you're looking for a chill place to have coffee or looking for a cute spot for a coffee date, Sunshine Spice Cafe is the joint to hit up.

Yelp
This delightful cafe is one of my favorite places I've ever been to. Not only are the food/beverages/treats all delicious, the warmth from this family run gem is welcoming and inviting every time I visit. They now have two locations and each are beautiful. The Fairview one is my go-to, but I love going to the downtown one if I'm in the area. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying this place the photos online looked amazing! Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with what I received. I ordered the iced Ube latte, but it didn't taste anything like a latte. There was little to no milk, which was surprising considering a latte is supposed to be mostly milk. Instead, it had a strong, bitter flavor that reminded me more of food coloring than Ube, and it stained my mouth purple after just one sip. I usually don't leave reviews, but this experience stood out in a negative way. I would've asked the barista to remake it, but I had already left before trying it. I would try this place again but I will definitely not get the Ube latte. On a positive note the inside looked very clean.

Yelp
Good sesame cemits and other goodies but, they are expensive. Coffee is average though I loved their stylish cups.
