The Best Affordable Restaurants in Las Vegas for a Cheap Meal | Eater Vegas

"For baked goods on a budget, head to Chinatown’s Sunville Bakery. For $3, order a golden brown baked barbecue pork bun or a hot dog bun. For something on the sweeter side, try the red bean bun or an egg tart. Mooncakes with fillings like dates, red beans, and lotus are also available for only $3.25 apiece." - Janna Karel

Been going here for 3yrs but now realizing that they don’t care too much about their customers or stand by their employees words. I came to put in an order for a Birthday Cake, selected a cake from the section they had on their tablet and chose the type of filling I like, gave them 3 days before pickup and paid for everything upfront with a 20% Tip! When I went to pickup the cake, saw it was just a plain cake with my daughter’s name on it that looks like a 5yrs old wrote it! I was like “what is this?” That’s not my cake! I pointed out the cake I chose and they said oh that’s not what you paid for, that will be $23 dollar more so now the cake is $85 before taxes and tips! I said that was what I was quoted and what I paid for, they said if you don’t want to pay the difference then we can just refund you, I felt like I’m being bait and switch but I needed a cake for my daughter’s party in a few hours, so I paid and had to come back in an hour to pickup the cake I chose originally! Being in hospitality for so long, I would never choose $23 over my reputation, especially when it’s my employees mistake and now you’re forcing your customer to pay for the mistake with time and money! There’s many other bakeries that I can go to and much better pricing! I went to Tous Les Jours Cafe Bakery on Decatur and Spring Mountain for some pastries and saw they have cloud cakes there for just $45! Sunville Bakery, hope the $23 was worth your reputation! Will never be back and will never recommend a business with no honor!

Bought three sponge cakes, two of them after one day were moldy. No best by date, no made on date. What frustrated me was their lack of items, and the over price for this poor quality. Skip this spot and go to 85 degrees or Paris Baguette. I'm a huge supporter of SMB, but when these simple cares are ignored and put the public at risk, that's where I draw the line. This shows a lack of care for consumers and interest in one's bottom line.

The two gentleman that helped us were very helpful. They explains what different treats were. The Japanese cheesecake was amazing! Yummmmmm

Custard tart sample was delicious. Look at the display items and order at the counter. Seasonal items as well. Simplify your choices by buying a loaf of bread. It’s the best.

It’s our first time coming here and the place is pretty easy to find. No posting for Covid and yOu not being allowed to touch the products. I was not aware that you tell her what you want and she will get for you behind the counter. It was a little confusing since the has displayed pastries on the shelves also. However, cakes and pastries are great. They are fresh and not too sweet. We ended buying four different kinds and they are all good so far. Our favorite is the Japanese cheese cake 👍🏼. We will definitely will come again.

I got there late so there wasn’t much variety. Their pork bun sandwich was nice. I also got mini sausage sandwiches and vanilla sponge cake. They also do wedding cakes. Small shop, very clean, cashier seemed nice.

Whoever assisted me today was extremely rude and probably racist. They left the counter and came up to me to ask “can I help you” in a rude tone. Then when I paid he took the card receiver, hit no tip, and said “have a nice day” again in a very sarcastic, condescending tone of voice. He rushed me out of the store and I can’t think of any other reason than my race. If you’re a colored person, don’t go here. The sponge cake I purchased was super bland anyway.

Solid food/goods but the environment is sketchy. Cashier tried to ring me up for more than the marker price of goods, and they are one of the locations that has crazy tip requests. I’m purchasing a $3.50 sponge cake, you ring me up for $4, and then the tip options are all $2+, seriously?
