The cheese fries burger was very good. The Chicago dog while not topped like a normal chicago dog still tasted good. Fries were also really tasty. The customer service is surprisingly good for such a buzy place.

Came in for lunch and we were super pleased with our food and service! Some of the best chili we have ever had. We had the slaw burger, slaw dog, and chili cheese dog. I also had a cherry limeade crush drink and the juice was fresh squeezed and definitely tasted like it. Great drink!

Hotdogs and hamburgers is what this place is all about. I have not tried their burgers but had their Hotdogs and fries and they are the best around. Now you can only do so much with the dogs themselves so it's all about the toppings and the hotdog chilli is best around. The fries were perfect, hot, crisp... what could you want more !

Took the family for lunch and by FAR the best hot dogs in Raleigh!! Try the one with chili, BBQ sauce, and topped with onion rings! Yum!! The boneless buffalo wings as well as the cheese and bacon fries were fresh and delicious and holy cow, the pizza fries was an amazing flavor combination! Fresh red oak beer on tap was delicious and the service was top-notch. Food was delivered fast and very fresh and well not the cheapest, definitely was worth every penny. Fantastic job guys!?

Sup Dogs was great!!! Came in on a crowded friday night and got served right away. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and cheese fries and the food was legit. I received generous portions and delicious food. The cheese fries were great - especially when dipped in the ranch or special sauce (as pictured). The Chicken sandwich was tossed in an appropriate amount of buffalo sauce and was the perfect density. Altogether the food was a 5/5. My review should really be a 4.5/5 because I do have one complaint. My food was $17. For someone looking for an affordable option- this is definitely not it. I understand I got cheese fries but the prices still seem a little steep to me. Most hotdogs are over $8 here as well. If you have the money to spend here, the food definitely won’t let you down, just think it’s a little high. The atmosphere makes up for the pricing if you have plenty of time to spend or go in with friends on a game night/ weekend night.

My daughter took me here to grab a bite for lunch after moving her in to an apartment all morning! I thoroughly enjoyed and inhaled my meal a Hawaiian Burger, 2 NC hotdogs and onion rings, hit the spot! Did not disappoint, will be back. Also, our waitress was the Sweetest and so attentive. Place was packed but we were still served very quickly and checked on multiple times. Nice job! Will be back. Prices are very reasonable too.

I've been craving good hot dogs for several days. I ordered Sup Dogs for delivery. I wasn't sure how well the dogs would keep in transit but boy did they hit the spot and arrived beautifully wrapped!

Me and my grandfather went for lunch and dinner today. We got burgers for lunch, hotdogs for dinner. Both were excellent. Our waitress, Courtney was impeccable. We will be coming back every time we visit Chapel Hill.

Chili cheese slaw dog, is the best creation there! I would recommend it anytime. Fry saw is great as well

Coming into Chapel Hill at midnight from an all day flight from Californina, we were very happy to find Sup Dogs open. Service was awesome, as was our different combo hot dog choices and all for a relatively inexpensive price. Definitely a 4 + star place to try....

Sup Dogs is impossible to not love. There's plenty of servers to take care of you. The food is fun and delicious. There's something for just about everyone! Orange sup crush is iconic and fresh. My first Sup Dogs trip would've been over 10 years ago in Greenville and every time I've gone to either location the food and drinks are always perfect. I love sharing Sups with my family and friends! This location would be great for any UNC fan - tons of fun art inside and a lively atmosphere that makes it a Franklin St staple I'm sure.

Family of 6 ate for $84.00 before tip. The Jalapeño Tot Appetizer is a must. (Peppers are raw / fresh so very low heat) all the cheese and crunchiness of the tots is perfect. The dogs are spot on - chili and spiced right. My biggest love is the sauce for the fries - Oh my word! Smoky and tangy - all at the table said they wanted a bottle to take home! Portions descent. Better than expected meal.

The hot dogs are amazing Hey make your order when you place it. Staff is super friendly. I like the atmosphere of this place it's epic eclectic and pretty rad. Been here before and I'll come back and eat here again next time Im in chapel hill for work at UNC.

Atmosphere: Sup Dogs is a lively and welcoming spot on Franklin Street. The inside is chaotic and energetic, especially on the night of a big event or on the weekends. The seating inside is communal but with the friendly atmosphere, it is comfortable. Service: We arrived at Sup Dogs at around 12:40 am on Halloween night. Though the place was crowded, we received our food at around 1 am, which we thought was pretty quick given how many orders had been placed before us. We received our food from the counter and seated ourselves at a large table inside. Food: We ordered the Spicy Hot Dog, Old School Dog Combo, and Cheesy Tots. The Spicy Sup Dog came with chili and sauce drizzled on top. Despite its simple composition, it was filled with flavor and had a good amount of spice! The Old School Dog is pretty much what you want in a late-night grub. The chili was rich and a little bit greasy, and went well with the salty, meaty goodness of the all-beef frank. The Cheesy Tots were also exactly what you would hope for after a night out -- crispy tots covered in hot, stringy cheese. The Sup Dogs sauce was truly a match made in heaven for any fried side, whether it be their tots or long-cut fries. Overall: Sup Dogs is an essential after a night out on Franklin Street. The environment is energizing and the food is satisfying. It is a bit pricey for a hot dog and side, but we think that the food is worth it for an indulgent treat. They are also open late (until 3 am) on weekends, which is a huge plus!

Fantastic place right on Franklin St within a short walk of UNC Chapel Hill. We were greeted upon walking in and the service remained friendly and excellent from there! Vast menu and we ended up with a burger meal and hot dog meal. The burger meal I skipped the bun and they did such a great job! Everything was delicious, great atmosphere, seating inside and out and a full bar!

Fun and casual dining. Dog and a beer. Dogs are their specialty, but they have plenty of other options. Highly recommend!

Located on Franklin Street, I imagine this place gets pretty busy on the weekends. For us it was a Monday afternoon and we were able to walk right in and sit anywhere we wanted. With a name like Sup Dogs...you have to know they serve...hot dogs. And the hot dogs come a variety of different ways. There is a little something for everyone, even the one that just like their dogs plain. We ordered their cheesy tater tots and pickle fries. Both delicious, though I feel like the pickle basket could have been more full. But both came out piping hot. The sup dog sauce...delicious! Shared a coke slaw dog with my better half and it was not too big, just a little messy but flavorful. All in all a good place for a quick bite to eat. They have TV's with sports on and a decent bar.

Found myself up in chapel hill and thought it would be fun to check out Sup Dogs. It's fine. The Sup Sauce is fire but was hugely dissatisfied with the Chicago Dog. I can't believe they had the nerve to call this MJ's favorite. They'd be laughed off the streets of Chicago for serving such an atrocity. Jalapeño slices? Onions not diced? Where was the celery salt? No relish?? Definitely disappointing. Cheesy bacon tots were good. Service was meh. The girl seemed to be anywhere but there. I'm not saying I wouldn't stop in again sometime in the future, but won't go out of my way to return. 3 stars is a gift considering I didn't have high expectations to begin with. It's a college town and this is a typical college eatery/bar. Maybe it livens up on game day but it's not a destination eatery. It's just ok.

I went to this place on a recommendation and so glad I did! I've been looking for a good hot dog place that decks out the dogs with some serious topping and this place is it. My wife is vegetarian so it's generally not a cuisine I can hit up, but they had a vegetarian hot dog on the menu that allowed for the whole family to go. But don't lean on only the dogs...the smash burgers are awesome as well. Can't wait to go back and try some more.

Great spot in Chapel Hill to grab a loaded hotdog, burger, and beer. You can get a combo of a dog and a burger, and they will work with you to customize whatever combo you want! It's a fun bar-scene vibe, but the service was attentive and very helpful! It's worth checking out if you're reading reviews and love hotdogs and burgers!

Spent the day in Chapel Hill and needed a place to eat which was quick, affordable and family friendly. .. Sup Dog did not disappoint on this front. I got a burger which was pretty tasty, but they will only cook it well-done (I like mine medium-well). Service was good, price was average for what they serve.

Took the grandsons to Sup Dogs and it was great! Had the Chicago and Firehouse Dogs. Both were excellent and had fresh jalapeños. All ingredients were especially fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The fries are awesome and the Sup Dawgs dipping sauce is so good I could drink it. I don't eat a lot of hot dogs, but when I do it will be a Sup Dog! Finally, the service was great. Very friendly, prompt, and courteous.

This location is bigger and cleaner than I could have imagined based off images on the internet. The food was very fresh/amazing, the staff was very friendly and sweet. Will definitely be coming back very soon!!!

Such a Chapel Hill staple!! I actually used to work here from 2018-2020 and it's only gotten better with time :) Stopped by one night for some nachos - incredible! Pro tip to get the buffalo chicken Great service as always, will never not recommend a visit here!

This place is too expensive and overrated I paid 8.79 for a small hot dog and the worst tasteless onion rings that I have ever had.What also piss me off to the core is they charge 11.99 you may as well say 12.00 dollars for a small amount of the most tasteless funnel cake sticks they definitely need to be investigated for price gouging.It should be against the law to overcharge people 12.00 for a measly amount of funnel cake fries that taste like crap do not waste your money again this place need to be investigated

If you like hot dogs, step right up and give this place a try. There are a large variety of options. I went for the Old School Dog Combo ... onions, chili, and mustard. And selected tots for my side. Yum! And I added a second dog for only $1.50. Yes!!! Of course, I washed it all down with a nice cold beer. I think another Sup Dog is in my future.

Fun times at Mug Night here. Typical college hangout spot. Not sure what to get, just grab a beer and some jalapeño popper tots and you won't be disappointed.

Came here last week with my daughter as we were stopping in to check out the college. I stopped to grab a couple beers (as I told my daughter, "you get candy, I get candy.") and we had just eaten at Sutton's. The girl who waited on us (she needed to eat about 20 burgers at Sutton's btw), couldn't have been nicer. She offered my daughter a beverage, offered us menus to look at, checked back on us, all the while knowing full well we were not going to order anything else. She was as nice as pie. If I'm ever in Chapel Hill again, I will definitely stop in Sup Dogs just because of her. Refreshing to see that there is still some quality service out there.

I really really really wanted to like this place! I stopped in on Saturday for lunch and thought the place would be packed but I walked straight in to order. I wasn't sure if it was dine in or not because no one greeted me at the door. I was given a menu with a QR code and able to place an order. My food came out within 10-minutes. I decided to sit outside to enjoy my food. I opened my box of goodness to find they the fries were cold. The only good part about it was the dipping sauce. The hotdogs were average just like the reviews on this place. I understand the 3-star rating now. I feel like the photos look better than what it taste like. Overall, good customer service. The girls working were all very kind. Other than that, it wasn't worth finding and paying for parking.

5-star dog, 5-star burger and 5-star service. Place was packed but our server was fantastic. Food arrived in a timely manner and as ordered. A disappointment that the soft drink machine was not working and the sink in Men's room not working. Food was very good.

Food was okay, seemed a little basic but I was drawn in by the crowd in the place. Service was decent, my waitress was nice and delivered our food and drinks promptly. The location is excellent and located adjacent to UNC. The price is very fair for the food quality. The beer was delicious, I got a hazy IPA, I must say I was very satisfied. The best thing of all was the onion rings, they were stellar.

Saw this place on the way to Ben and Jerry's and liked the outside seating and thought of specialty hotdogs. The niece and I decided to check it out. OMGoodness! A hotdog combo is $6.99. You can add a second hotdog for $1.50 and upgrade the fries. The meal was $10.49 for 2 hotdogs and cheesy tots for me, cheese and bacon fries for her. To my surprise the hotdogs had fresh cut jalenpeno versus out of a jar. The sup sauce is yummy and similar to chic-fil-a sauce. Our waitress was sweet, took great care if us and is originally from Garner. I will definitely go back and take people!

First * I was hesitant to do dine-in with a 2.5 year old because we heard this place only caters to college students and the energy in there is rowdy. That maybe true, but I am so glad I didn't allow what we "heard" stop us from going to Sup Dogs because our experience was fantastic! We were in town visiting family and in the past we have never had enough time to swing by to try the food, until today! I must say we were not disappointed with any of the items we ordered (drinks, tots, pickle spears, burgers, hot dogs, nachos, and funnel cake sticks). The beverages were tasty and refreshing. The quality, portion size of the food, and prices were on target to what we expected from a hot dog establishment. And our service was stellar. Although I didn't get a chance to take a picture of everything we ordered, the Sup Sauce was the star of the show! Put it on EVERYTHING!!! We definitely will visit again the next time we are in town and encourage others to do the same if you haven't had an opportunity to check out a NC college staple!

The food is always awesome at both locations. They have one sweet location. The service is always good. Not only the best bar in America but also some great food.

Visited Chapel Hill from Alabama for a week and this was the second hot dog place I've been to. The first left MUCH to be desired, so I'm happy to say this place exceeded expectations. I tried the original, the smokehouse, and the old fashioned hot dog and they were all incredibly delicious. Seriously, the chili they put on these dogs is no joke! Hard to decide which one was my favorite, might have to fly over again sometime to say for sure. The restaurant itself is a sports bar so you'll have lots to drink and lots to watch on TV. They're open late too and, to my surprise, they were taking orders up to the last minute. On my first visit I made it 10 minutes to closing and they took my order no problem - I'm used to getting a grumpy response followed by lousy food when eating out late, but it was all as good as it was midday. Can't wait to go back here again next time I'm in Chapel Hill!

I've felt like having a hot dog for a while now but I'd been resisting the urge because it HAD to be good. I passed this place by while walking through Chapel Hill and decided that I wanted to try it. Even though my hubby did his best to show me other menus to entice me because he had been reading about what's in hotdogs! Anyway I decided to have the dog with Monterey jack, cheddar and fresh cut jalapenos. You'll notice I skipped the chili. I've never understood the obsession to put chili on a hot dog?! I have to admit the hotdog was excellent and they used REAL cheese not that disgusting liquid cheese in a bottle! The fries were perfect with their special sauce that has a smoky flavor!

What's Up Dawg? LOL, how cute is this place?! I haven't been to Franklin Street in Chapel Hill in what feels like forever. I stopped in here with some friends for lunch on the way home from a ski trip in Sugar Mountain, North Carolina. They have plenty of TV's accessible no matter where you are sitting to watch whatever game happens to be on. The chili dog and boneless wings was good but the fries and tater tots is just okay. The atmosphere was very casual, fun and mostly college students. We went there to watch a UNC football game and it was packed but we really enjoyed ourselves being that we were older. The prices was average and the staff was very friendly.

Love Sup Dogs. It's my favorite hot dog place in the Triangle. Hadn't been in since COVID so I was a bit nervous that it had changed somehow but it was still as delicious as I remembered it. Staff is always attentive & on the ball. Definitely a casual dining place - perfect for us for lunch I love that it's a sit down restaurant- so many similar eatery's are counter service.

My friend and I visited Sup Dogs for lunch today, and it was a fabulous experience!! We had my 4 year old and 1 year old with us, and our waitress was so kind and sweet to them! She was excellent!! My 4 year old wanted a second hot dog because she liked it so much. I got a Hawaiian dog (delicious!!) and tots, which were the best tater tots I've had! We also loved sitting outside on Franklin street. Will definitely be returning!

There I was in Chapel Hill enjoying some day drinking festivities. The clock struck 6 and my stomach started craving some substance. A friend suggested Sup Dogs, and we made it happen. We strolled in to a clean restaurant with a vibrant vibe. The weather was great so we opted to sit outside on the patio. We feasted on a tray of cheesy tots as an appetizer. I had to add some hot sauce, but they were awesome. Next I had the Firehouse Dog with some fresh jalapenos, chili and hot sauce. It totally hit the spot and I strongly recommend. To calm the palate down I grabbed a Cool Down Dog with chili. That chili is very flavorful! This dog was delish too. You really cant go wrong with any of the dogs. They also serve beer so I was able to keep the good vibes going. The service was a bit slow and staff didn't exactly come off to be friendly even though the place was empty. However, the food and fun is just too good, so add this place to your hit list.

10 outta 10 the lady was super nice. She even took my 5 year old order and let him pay by his self then he was giving an extra hot dog I loved that . Most definitely will be back. Chili cheese dogs were greattt . Them chili cheese fries were hot, great amount of fries chili and cheese ! Most definitely recommend!

SO good! Even the to-go food is delicious and hot. The buffalo dog & the cool down dog are my faves. With bacon cheese fries and ranch of course. Def recommended

Wanted to check a spot in chapel hill that embraced its UNC roots, sup dogs was the spot! great food, service (even though it was busy!), and atmosphere make this a must stop. alexis, lizzie, madison, and claire are a great team! what a great staff!

Sup Dogs is locates in the heart of Chapel Hill on Franklin Street. There's street parking which is free after 6pm. You seat yourself upon arrival and a server comes to your table. There's indoor and out door seating, pretty spacious on a weekday and tight on a weekends. There's burgers, hot dogs of course, chicken sandwiches, fries, tots and onion rings. They have mixed drinks, alcoholic slushes, wine and beer. You can't go wrong here. In the 5 times or so that I've been here, I've only ever had the hot dogs, fries and tots. The service is pretty fast most times and the staff is friendly. Ask for Sabrina. I'll drive 40 minutes here just for their flavorful hot dogs.

I only tried one hot dog, their Hawaiian one with grilled pineapple and honey mustard. It had pretty good flavor, but was a soggy mess even though we ate it immediately. Maybe worth trying a more traditional hot dog next time.

Extremely surprised and in dismay over the fact that this "sports bar" doesn't have Irish car bombs. Bombs are for the boys... is sup dogs? Extra two stars because the server Maddie was amazing!
