Súp? My wife’s had this on her bucket list since they opened, and we finally checked it off. When it’s almost 90 degrees outside and the place is still packed with people eating hot soup, you know you’re in the right spot.
We kicked things off with the egg rolls and filet mignon Lomo Saltado. The egg rolls were crispy perfection, and the garlic sauce? Strong enough you’ll want to grab a mint after). The Lomo Saltado was another win. Juicy filet, golden fries, and rice with just a hint of lemongrass. That little detail really lifted the whole dish and takes the rice from plain to insane.
For the mains, we went with the Pho Rib Bones (slow-braised, fall-off-the-bone beef rib) and the Pho Anthony Bourdain. Listen, if they’re confident enough to name a dish after Anthony Bourdain, who defined adventurous food, then it’s going to be solid. Flat noodles, filet mignon, scallions, onions, garlic… and a broth so rich and flavorful you don’t need to add a thing (though a squeeze of lime sends it straight to another level - trust me). Noodles? Perfect. And yes, they’ll refill you with extra broth and noodles if you polish it off at no extra charge. Phonomenal on their part.
If it’s this good in the heat of summer, I can only imagine how comforting it’ll be in the middle of winter.
Tips for first-timers: In summer, aim for a table near the entrance. We were seated towards the back and it was HOT. And there are no reservations, but you can check in on Yelp ahead of time (if it works - it didn’t for us, but the wait was only 15 minutes).
