Super Dumpling Culver City

We were so excited that they opened a new restaurant in Los Angeles. The manager Winston gave excellent recommendation and the Beef Pan-Fried Dumplings was a spot on. Service is excellent and this new restaurant is huge with plenty of seating for large family. All the meats here are halal.

Walked in around 2pm on a Saturday. We were a party of 4 and there were plenty of tables available. Staff were friendly and the food was fresh. The orange chicken was the best dish in my opinion. Everything else was also tasty and flavorful. I personally felt the chicken xiao long bao was something a little of something but it was good. Full portions are big enough to share, which is how we were able to try a little of everything. Nice spot at the entrance of the mall.

Dumplings were bomb! So good, especially the steamed chicken. Garlic noodles and the fried noodles were great. Staff was really sweet. Chocolate dumplings are awesome! Would def. Recommend.

If you're craving halal chicken dumplings, Super Dumpling is the place to go! Their chicken dumplings are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The wrappers are delicate but sturdy, and the dipping sauces add the perfect kick. Shoutout to Win, our amazing server, who was super friendly and made the experience even better. The manager was also very attentive, making sure everything was perfect. The cozy vibe makes it a great spot to enjoy a meal. Highly recommend

First time here. Service was very friendly and fast. We sat indoors and ordered egg rolls, wontons, dumplings and the seafood tray. Everything tasted great overall. One negative... the seafood tray. It comes with claws but no claw cracker. Unfortunately we were really able to get the crab meat from most of the pieces so that was too bad. Only had about 3 shrimp too so that was disappointing. I would like to come back, not order the tray, and try other items. I saw other dinners' food and it definitely looked yummy.

Food was really good. The staff were really attentive to the customer’s needs. Service was really fast too. I loved their walnut shrimp. The portions were big enough. One of your staff, Win, was really nice to us and she even asked if we need something every now and then.

Went during the soft opening period and was really looking forward to it. I know the Mongolian beef is fantastic, and the honey walnut shrimp was delicious too, although I would say the sauce was sitting on the top instead of being tossed in. We also got the crab fried rice and that was okay, and you can tell that the orange chicken was "elevated" a little bit. Now. The soup dumplings. I was really disappointed considering this place is called SUPER. DUMPLING. We got the crab and beef soup dumplings (which also include shrimp we found out by reading the description) and I can confidently say that you cannot identify any of that based on flavor and texture. The soup part was good, but the meat was confusing, and the skin was so thick that it felt more like a mini bao. I know that this is a soft opening but I hope they get the soup dumplings right or even just remove it from the menu. I'm hoping by the time I go back, they'll have fixed this.

They even held my bday cake while I had to go to an event at the mall. When we arrived for our reservation, Win- our waitress- was super sweet & accommodating. She kept checking in on us throughout our time there, and helped us with recommendations for it is was first time there (it’s only been open for several months!) THE FOOD 5/5 We tried a looot of different meals, definitely a spot for family style situation: Recommend: Shrimp sui mai Orange chicken Mongolian beef Honey walnut shrimp Pan fried beef buns (my husband loooved that!) Soup dumplings String green beans Crab beef xiao long bao I will definitely come back due to great service and food! Highly recommend!!! There is a lunch special where the plate has protein, vegetables, and rice so I got to try that next time!! :)

First time trying super dumpling and it was AMAZING! We googled halal places when visiting LA and this popped up. Customer service is wonderful. The food came out very fast which was super impressive. The restaurant is spacious with delicious food. We will definitely be back whenever we visit LA again. Huge shoutout to the manager, Nesly, for the amazing and friendly service. Din Tai Fung who? Check out this place for even better food and HALAL options.

A restaurant named like Super Dumpling in a mall? Can't be the real deal. Oh, but it's so legit! Beef Xiao Long Bao was bomb! The skin and dashi was perfect. Not sure why there was no pork offerings. The Scallion Pancake was light and delicious too!

I love supporting a halal business, and I'm happy this opened up in Culver City! It has pretty spacious seating inside, our service was friendly and attentive, shout out to Winston! We ordered beef pan-fried buns, spicy chicken wontons, and chicken fried noodles. I enjoyed all the dishes but especially loved the spicy chicken wontons and would recommend them (they also weren't too spicy!). It was a good shareable lunch and I hope they do well at this location!

I really don't like having to leave negative reviews, but I hope this will help this restaurant improve their takeout order service for future patrons. I recently ordered super dumpling to try them, given all the other positive reviews here on yelp. I'm sick at home and was really craving some dumplings and Asian flavors to get over this cold. But was extremely disappointed when my lunch order arrived and the quality of the items as well as, packaging of them was extremely subpar. The condiments that were given with my order were lacking in portion as well as quantity, and all the food arrived mildly warm and bland. The most shocking was the orange chicken, which was extremely dry and seemed to have been probably the last of their lunch order portions. I hope to try super dumplings again in the future, but perhaps better in person than ordering out.

Nice clean and bright place, they serve the Chinese Halal food, my friends from northern part of China, they don't eat pork, so this is a good place to eat. Also good service, the tall Hong Kong guy, maybe the manager, he's nice and polite.

I was in the Culver City area and decided to check out Super Dumpling mostly because it's halal and I love to support halal restaurants! It's a great alternative to Din Tai Fung for those of us with limited options and I'm so glad I stopped by. This location is actually in the Westfield Culver City mall. There's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating! We started with the seasoned cucumbers (refreshing and packed with flavor), then had the chicken xiao long bao, Singaporean noodles, and beef dumplings. Everything was hot, fresh, and super flavorful. The staff was also really kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. But the highlight of the night? The sesame balls with red bean. Crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside, I'm actually still thinking about them. I will definitely plan to grab a few orders to go next time!

This restaurant is located in the Westfield Mall, Culver City. I almost didn't go because I didn't want to walk through the mall to find the restaurant. However, it was conveniently located facing outward on the mall. Parking was easy. The restaurant is spacious and a bit modern. I received my to go order very quickly. The host was really friendly and helpful. I tried the spicy stirfry beef. It was OK. The only spice I tasted was cumin which was a bit heavy, in my opinion. I also tried the chicken spring rolls and they were pretty good. Also had the chicken stirfry rice and it was wonderful.

I've been here 3 times now and it's been amazing. Shoutout to the manager Nestle for always taking good care of his customers. He's so friendly and welcomes you in with his warm smile and jokes. Spicy chicken wontons and beef crab xiao baos are my absolute favorite. Can't wait for the next visit!

First time trying Super Dumpling and we enjoyed the food. Soft opening but they seemed to get it all right. We were greeted warmly by the host and directed us to our seats right away. I have never been at this restaurant before they acquired it but they've done a nice job inside. Cozy, clean and large to accommodate big groups. We ordered: 4/5 Crab beef XLB 4/5 Shrimp Siu Mai 5/5 Pan Fried Beef Bun (must try, so good!) 4/5 Beef Pan fried dumplings 3/5 Chicken wings 5/5 Shrimp fried rice 5/5 Shrimp fried noodles We enjoyed everything but the pan fried beef buns was our favorite bc we have never tried anything like it before. The juice inside was a nice surprise and the bun was tender. We also really liked the fried rice. We loved how juicy the XLB was. The only thing was that we are used to these dim sum to have pork so a little different in taste with beef. We enjoyed everything just a little different from what we are used to. The service was great as well everyone was friendly and helpful as well as efficient. I hope that the service remains as good even after the soft opening. Prices are reasonable and definitely less than Din Tai Fung! We really enjoyed our experience and highly recommend this new restaurant especially if you like dim sum and Chinese cuisine. They are located on the lower level of Fox Hills Mall near Forever 21.

This is a new restaurant located in Westfield Culver City. The venue itself is big. They have tables, bars, and booths. You choose whatever you like. I was quickly greeted by the waiter and led to the table. The servers were very attentive. They came and checked on my table very often. I love how they end up offering lu ch portions to the customers, where I can try many different dishes in smaller portions. I was satisfied with the service they provided.

Exceptional Dim Sum in our neighborhood!. Just found Super Dumpling on first floor of Westfields Culver City (formerly Wokcano.) You can watch them being made in the window of the kitchen. So fresh, so light and perfectly balanced spices. Not to miss: spicy chicken wontons, beef or chicken Xiao Long Bao (steamed soup dumplings), outstanding pan-fried beef buns, exceptional honey walnut shrimp, spicy garlic steamed edamame, sesame balls. Everything we tried was fantastic. We usually drive to Monterey Park but this was something special and I saved the gas. Friendly chef, managers and wait staff ready to welcome you. So excited to hear what you think. Restaurant Halal. Generous portions and Lunch menu with half orders available until 4. Good tea drinks that complement food. A must try.

The service was good. I was greeted by multiple staff from the moment I arrived, all the way until I was seated. My waitress, Maria was extremely kind, enthusiastic and quick. Her warm smile made me feel welcome. She also eagerly answered any questions I had. The steamed beef dumplings are the best I've had in recent memory. I usually always prefer pork but the beef dumplings they have are juicy and flavorful. The dumpling skin has a good texture as well. I liked the steamed dumplings so much I decided to add the xiao long bao to my order as well. They were alright; although very juicy. The restaurant is clean and has a nice ambiance. The bathroom was clean as well.

DELICIOUS! Food, service and ambiance was amazing. Went with the fam and ordered a lot of their full orders to share. But the star dishes of the night were the orange chicken and the spicy chicken wontons. We came to visit SoCal from San Francisco and will definitely be back for super dumpling. Out-of-towners and first-timers to Super Dumpling and we enjoyed our lunch here! The service was amazing! Very attentive and warm staff. The food was great! We ordered a bunch of items but our favorites were the beef pan fried dumplings, crab fried rice, string beans with garlic, and the most tender black pepper beef tenderloin! Thai iced tea, passion fruit green tea, and chocolate XLB were great too!

Dining area was nearly empty when we visited. Our entres consisted of Full shrimp sui mai Chicken steamed dumplings Lunch portion of Brocoli Beef The Brocoli beef was delicious but the portion was inanely small and not served with rice. Dumplings were tasty but defintely had better elsewhere. Service was amiable. Not sure I will be back but glad we tried this spot!

Have been wanting to try this place for many weeks and finally had the opportunity today. Winston was our server and gave us the best recommendations! We tried the chicken wontons in chili sauce and beef and potato steamed buns. They were sooo good. He made our sauce for dipping of soy sauce, vinegar, and their special chili sauce. Things to note: Sundays they only do full orders just so you know. And no alcohol as they are waiting on their license. Ask for Winston! He was very attentive and personable.

Was in town for a concert and staying at the nearby hotel. My daughter and I were excited to eat here. We ordered beef dumplings, vegetable dumplings, sesame balls, crab fried rice to start. Everything was bad tasting except the sesame balls. The crab fried rice was like some canned tuna on top of some sad fried rice with no flavors but an old tuna can taste. They were nice enough to refund us for everything but the sesame balls. Don't waste your money here. Also we did not enjoy the bright spotlight shining at each table. I felt like fries under a heat lamp.

The food was great and tasty, came out in a timely fashion and the service was outstanding. Winston helped us and was so nice to our children, even offered them a toy when they were having a hard time. Thank you, Winston!!! Pan fried buns were awesome, perfectly fried while pillowy and super juicy! The crab beef xiao long bao and garlic string beans were good, but the pan fried buns were definitely the star of the meal. I was curious about the chocolate xiao long bao but they were too chocolately for me. I liked the mochi skin texture but the chocolate filling was too sweet for me. Glad this spot is on the westside when I'm craving beef buns! Parking is easy as it's at the Westfield Culver City Mall.

Wow, where to start... I'm giving super dumpling two stars instead of one because I appreciate the effort to bring Asian cuisine to this area. However, this restaurant needs a lot of work. It's been open for 3 weeks.. and it shows. It took over the Wocano space and they still have yet to remove some of that branding as you'll see in the photos. What is perplexing to me about the establishment? Is that it's Halal. So like the Jewish Orthodox, they don't allow any pork. Pork is a major component of Chinese and Asian cuisine. To not offer that protein is a head scratcher. The space is massive, and they have yet to properly address some of the excess open space. The space is literally big enough for two discrete restaurants. Sadly they don't offer the lunch special on weekends so we went with the full entree. Because they didn't offer pork, we didn't get the dumplings with soup in them. We got the fried noodle dish with Yang Chow... It was average at best. We didn't want the chicken because it's dark meat... And that's another strike for the restaurant. They didn't give us extra protein like they said they would. Also, the noodles weren't hot enough. Lacking veggies and flavor too... The shrimp sui mai was just okay. The menu prices are too high in my opinion. I think a $1 to $2 reduction is needed based off the food quality Our server was by herself, and to be blunt... She wasn't very good. She didn't check up on us and we sat around for 5 minutes waiting for the check. It may have been because she was by herself running around a massive restaurant, but we didn't leave a tip. As you see by my reviews, and I have a lot of them, we give a lot of chances to new restaurants. I've lived here for over 20 years and I'm sad to say that over the last 6 to 7 years the restaurant quality has taken a dip in service and food quality an increase in price. That's not a good equation.

It was our first time at Super Dumpling and everything that we ordered on the menu was delicious! Winston provided excellent customer service and was constantly checking on us to see if everything was going well with our meal! Today they launched some new menus and we tried the Garlic Noodle and it was so good we ordered 2 more. Also yall need to try the spicy chicken wontons! Next time we're definitely trying the seafood boil! Forget din tai fung, they have a new regular from now.

Food here was on point! Newly opened (soft opening) at the old Wokcano space at Westfield Culver City, Super Dumpling boasts a terrific menu with dim sum (outstanding), Chinese dishes and noodles (delicious) sushi and more. Went in for a late lunch and was able to taste several items across the menu as you can order full and half-size orders of just about everything. Loved the Orange chicken, the Crab Beef Xiao Long Bao were juicy and out of this world, and the Beef and Potato Bao was tender and tasty. Service was excellent, and the spot is spacious and looks great. Can't wait to go back and try some more. Nothing like this on the west side of LA. Totally recommend.

I've been here multiple times since its opening and am always so happy with the experience. The staff is friendly (Win was great) and the food is always above and beyond. The service is so quick, you never have to wait too long for your meal. Clean ambiance with lots of space. Really love all the halal options, as it is very difficult to find halal dumplings. We always bring our out of town guests here and everyone has loved it. Owner is so so nice!

Pretty good dumplings and bao buns. No alcohol at this restaurant. Orange chicken was okay, and the veggie spring rolls were very crunchy and tasty. Server was friendly and helpful with questions on the menu. Lots of space in the dining room. Not a bad spot for a quick meal near the airport

Whether steamed or pan fried all of their dumplings had at least a spoonful of hot soup. This place is halal so all dumplings are made with beef instead of pork which I thought was unique and still super delicious. They also have your favorite Chinese dishes like super tender orange chicken and fried rice which I really enjoyed. They also have sushi dishes but that didn't seem like the vibe so I didn't try them~

My sister and I were longtime fans of Wokcano and were sad to see it go--but we're thrilled to say that Super Dumplings has more than filled its shoes! From the moment we were seated, we felt warmly welcomed. The Manager, Nesly, greeted us right away and checked in with us throughout our meal to ensure everything was going well. Our server, Eric, was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Nesly and Eric truly elevated our experience and made our visit to this new spot a pleasure. We will definitely be recommending Super Dumplings to our friends. Spicy garlic edamame, Chicken fried rice, Garkic green beans, spicy tuna roll and salmon roll a 10/10. I knew there was a location in OC and now they opened one in Culver City. WestLA really needs more Asian restaurants. We came with a party of 6 and each of us paid around $33, much cheaper than Ding Tai Fu. - pan fried beef dumplings 5/5 were one absolute favorite, due to their crispy skin and full of inner beef soups. -beef steamed dumplings 5/5. You'll think the basic dumplings are average but the flavor is unique, gingery and herby. I actually love this the most, more than pan fried beef dumplings. -Crab Beef XLB 5/5 are filled with inner hot soups. The skin is thin, not as thin as DTF but much thinner than places like Mama Lu. -beef and potato bun 3/5 was unique combination. They are indeed filling but lots of starch and the flavor is alright only, not enough beef flavor. -Crispy Chicken Wonton 4/5 was rather expensive for the portion. It was alright with no particular unique flavor. But it was so crispy. -shrimp siu mai was okay. 4/5 it tastes like other dimsum place. -Spicy Stir-fried Beef 3/5 has spicy hint but mild. The combination with veggies make the plate completed. It is oily however but you can't go wrong with eating with rice. Highly recommend but the price is steep for portion. -Mongolian Beef 3/5. Another recommend dish with flavor of true mongolian beef. Somehow the dish is $17.50 but the portion is small. -chicken dumpling soup 2/5. The chicken broth is canned. Overall I would come back for the dumplings.

Our dinner was delicious. We ordered the cucumber salad. Completely different from my recipe-- lots of flavor--cilantro and chillies give it some verve. The green beans with garlic were perfect- neither under- nor overcooked, and light garlic (did n't end up with garlic breath! ). We had chicken dumplings, steamed, and beef dumplings, fried. All this for just two people we thought for sure we'd have leftovers, but no such luck. It was all so good. We finished off with the sesame rolls-- lightly crunchy and filled with just the right amount of red bean paste. They are still in the soft opening stage, so it was easy to walk in and get a booth. The atmosphere is family- friendly, light, clean, and airy. Our server and the rest of the staff were pleasant but not obtrusive. The prices are per item and pretty reasonable. Highly recommend.

Definitely a type of restaurant this mall needed! Spicy wontons were my favorite thing, portion size was massive enough for a group of 3-4 people! Will be coming back and if you're reading this, it's a must try. A very strong 8.5/10, just missing a little bit of alcoholic drinks.

Great dumplings, and fried rice and fried noodles, in Culver City? Yes! Sure, nothing is going to beat the San Gabriel Valley, but Super Dumpling is delicious, close, and in a nice space. The chicken xiao long bao was great but the star of the meal was the pan fried beef buns. Maria V. did a great job helping us get a good variety, and the right amount of food. She was also attentive and pleasant. This one's a keeper (and it's halal).

The prices were super reasonable, which is always a win, and the food came out fresh and flavorful. The service was super attentive and quick -- we never had to flag anyone down. But the real star? The chocolate dessert xiao long bao -- sooo good!! It's the perfect sweet twist on a classic. I'd totally come back just for those. Great vibe, great value, and awesome service!

This place is definitely a spot that will have you full and fulling great, and you just might end up leaving with some to take home due to the large portions they serve. Now it is large because it's very shareable but they have so many great options to choose from. This place is called Super Dumplings! But it used to be Wokcano... the name on the building hasn't changed yet but it will soon just give them some time but in the meantime you can check them out they are open from 11:30AM to 9PM and the restaurant is big enough for small and large parties with a great modern seating. So maybe you can throw your next event there! For dinner we had ordered the Orange chicken Mongolian beef And the House Special rice can't remember the name but it had Shrimp, Beef & Chicken. ALL OF IT WAS RIGHT ON POINT!
