Super Duper Burgers

The chicken was very chewy. I returned it after the second bite and asked if I could get a mini hamburger instead. The staff was very nice and obliged my request. They get 5 stars for service because of that for sure! For the burger, the meat patty was really fresh and juicy. It tastes noticeably different from the other popular burger joints in California. That is a good thing, since it makes their burgers unique. The garlic fries were not that great. They were too garlicky and I didn't see any fresh garlic on them. I think they may be using garlic oil or maybe garlic spices, but certainly no fresh garlic, which was another disappointment. I also discovered that you don't have to pay tip if you order by yourself at the self-order kiosk instead of ordering with a person at the cashier. Not sure why tip is expected in a self-serve burger joint!!! The service is this particular location was really good though with very nice staff, so that more than made up for the weird chicken burger and disappointing garlic fries experience. Plenty of free street parking and nice residential area in San Mateo with parks and some running mini river near by.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=Solid (1-Avoid, 3-Standard, 5-Can't Miss!) One of our favorites. The char flavor and the juiciness of the burger is great. All organic ingredients and they also have shakes and soft serve that is from Straus Dairy Farm, which is a big plus! The "$10 Recession Meal" is a great offering and comes with fries and a drink. You can also get as many homemade pickles as you want if you like pickles. Plenty of parking in this plaza in the underground parking lot. The ground level parking can be a little challenging.

We had a fried chicken sandwich with garlic fries. The bun was just perfect, tender, and fresh. Just the right size for a nice bite. I didn't like the garlic fries because they were kinda soft and extremely oily. But other than that everything was great.

I ordered the non spicy fried chicken burger and the garlic fries. Ohh they are just soooooo yummy! I’ve been to this plaza since so many years ago but how come I just have never step into this burger shop? I would definitely recommend to anyone and I will come back soon!

My brother was craving a burger and he only wanted Super Duper. We ordered at the kiosk, 2 burgers, garlic fries and two drinks. Yum. It can get messy but that is what the extra napkins are for. There are pickles available at the counter. It was a tasty meal. Service was nice and efficient.

Good food but misleading / confusing ordering system. When ordering a burger, it will display a picture of the burger with cheese, however the burger doesn’t actually come with cheese and you have to specify a choice of cheese at an additional cost of $1. If the default burger doesn’t not come with cheese, it should not be photographed with cheese. It’s stuff like this why I hate

Delicious and extremely well made burgers. The mini burger is good enough for an adult. It’s delicious, you don’t over eat. The garlic fries are also very tasty.

Whenever I’m craving a burger, Super Duper is the first place that comes to mind. My kids and I come here regularly, so this review is long overdue. I’m a big fan of the Super Duper burger—it’s consistently delicious, made with quality ingredients, and reasonably priced. The fries are just as impressive and as a bonus, they offer soft serve ice cream—which I love—with the option to have it dipped in chocolate. It’s a perfect treat to end the meal. The staff, including the manager, always greet us warmly and make us feel welcome, which adds a personal touch to every visit. The atmosphere is great too—clean and comfortable with a modern industrial vibe that works really well.

This new Super Duper in Park Place San Mateo has much better tasting burgers than the prior Habit. Easy to order at a terminal instead of needing to wait in line to order. Garlic fries were decently good too. Plenty of parking underground, which is also less busy and more spacious than the above ground parking that people tend to gravitate to.

I have not been to a Super Burger in a while, but after this experience I think I will be back sooner... Spicy chicken burger: 4/5. A nicely moist chicken with just the right amount of spice. Dipped ice cream cone: 4/5. I shared a swirled cone (vanilla and chocolate) that had been dipped in chocolate. It was surprisingly good since they used quality ingredients for both the ice cream (Straus) and chocolate dipping sauce (Tcho).

Quality burgers and food at a reasonable price. I CAN recommend the cheeseburgers and the fries. I CANNOT recommend you get blue cheese. I'm a blue cheese girly and something about the blue cheese they use is off. Service was great - food came out fast and hot. Cashiers were welcoming and friendly but I ordered thru kiosk. The space has both indoor and outdoor dining. Well lit, not too loud. I usually eat outside.

This burger place was a big hit with my special needs adult son. He loved his regular 2 patty burger and indulgent garlic truffle fries. You pay a bit more, but portions are large and quality is there. The truffle burger is an indulgent treat, but I'd order the mini next time because it is so rich. Love the homemade pickles and the drink selection is superb. Best of all they were kind and accommodating with my son, going out of their way to make him feel welcome.'He LOVED his chocolate shake, with chocolate chunks and graham cracker crumbs..: He kept declaring the meal delicious, during his tide home! When you just want to enjoy a delicious mouth watering juicy burger, crispy fries and and strawberry lemonade and put the day to rest there's no place so far that matches the consistency of Super Duper. Don't just take my word for it try it yourself. Btw try it with an egg and dip your crispy fries in it! Mind blown.

Tasty burgers! Easy to order at the computer and you can customize your burger. Fries are good and the slim kind I prefer. Good fast food option.

I love super duper, so glad they opened a location here and replaced Habit. It is a rich, fatty, gooey burger though so you have to really come hungry. I like their shakes and that anyone can order the kid size option for them. Coffee is my go-to. Restaurant is clean and the decor is consistent with all the other super dupers.

OMG, I thought Habit was great now Super Duper is #1. All food is hormone free, no antibiotics, all natural just like Habit/Shake Shack. Got the regular 1/4 mini hamburger and it was super delicious. Out of the ballpark in size and taste filled with juiciness. Forget Shake Shack, Super Duper gives you more burger for less cost. See for yourself. Highly recommend if in the area. We went to Super Duper Burgers with very good friends of ours for the Straub soft serve chocolate vanilla & chocolate swirl ice cream cone dipped in TCHO dark chocolate - YUM! It was a huge serving and my hubby and I shared one - next time we will order two cones :D . We also ordered the fried chicken sandwich and mini burger - so delicious, flavorful and juicy. We are definitely going back - very helpful waitstaff too!

Super Duper was already one of my favorite all-time chains (Marina location being my favorite) and the San Mateo did not disappoint! I ordered from a kiosk, but there was an employee nearby who checked in to make sure I was all squared away and if I had any questions. The vibe in here is nice and it looks very well maintained. There is music playing and I thought it was a nice touch to keep the vibe going. Grade: A The food came out promptly and I enjoyed my fountain drink in a glass! Sick of places that use paper cups and straws. This is way more environmentally friendly in my eyes. I ordered a Super Burger with mushrooms, bacon, and Cabozola Blue Cheese. The burger was juicy and cooked medium well. The burger was flavorful and drippy as it should be. The bread did not fall apart or disintegrate. Grade: A+ I also ordered French fries. I appreciated that the skin was still on them, they were crispy, yet soft in the center. A perfectly fried example! Their ketchup is awesome and you can tell it isn't some high-fructose garbage. Grade A+ As all Super Dupers, I appreciate the offerings of pickles. They are always a bit too zingy for me, but a nice offer. Grade: A- Overall, this one is up there with the Marina location, but I will have to come here multiple times to check consistency. I will definitely come to this one!

We've ordered delivery a few times with no issues. Food was good, delivery was as promised. The last time we ordered (2 days ago) the food was delivered but we were missing one item. The receipt on the bag said to call the restaurant with any issues but when I did, there was a recording telling me to send email and I would get a response within 24 hours. I sent the email and 2 days later no response. Very disappointing that there is no accountability on their part. I doubt we'll order from them again.

This spot used to be a burger spot as well (the habit burger grill). Now super duper burgers is here, yum!!! My go to is usually a mini burger and fries. I love how the edges of the beef patty are a little crisp, while the center of the burger is nice and juicy, very tender. Also, make sure to add grilled onions to your burger (it's amazing, and somehow not the default). It really makes the flavor even more enjoyable. The fries are nicely crisp when they come out hot. I like dipping them in the ketchup and mustard provided on the counter. The pickles are also awesome, it completes the meal. The chicken sandwich is also pretty good, nice and juicy. Tasty chipotle flavor. Chicken is nicely grilled. I prefer the burger bun because the ciabatta is usually drier and has cut my mouth before lol. For drinks, the strawberry lemonade is refreshing and tart. The milkshakes here are delicious. Most recently, I tried the chocolate and fresh strawberry milkshake; it was great! Nice mellow chocolate flavor with a dash of strawberry flavor. It was a nice combo. Other shake flavors I enjoy would be fresh strawberry, and cookies and cream! Next time I gotta try the coffee milkshake..! One confusion I find is you must pick up your food or milkshake in separate areas. It won't be one convenient grab and go. Overall great to have super duper here! Nice and clean, good food.

Glad to see a Super Duper pop up along the mid-peninsula. Taking over the old Habit Burger location and opened only a few days ago, the place is humming along like a well-oiled operation. Some of the personnel are from other existing SDs, so they bring that personable culture with them. Our table was checked on by 4 different staff members -- that's great service. But everyone was friendly and offered great service, especially the guy behind the soft serve station. Burgers, fries and drinks are consistent with the other locations. It wasn't perfect as the burgers we ordered were on the saltier side. The one with the bacon was especially salty. But the flavors and textures were there. Looking forward to dropping in more often due to the location.

So excited to see a super duper in the peninsula! Although the shopping center isn't the most parking friendly place. Garlic fries - garlicky and crispy, just like how I remembered them to be. Strawberry shake - my favorite! It was very creamy. You can tell they use actual strawberries and not some artificial flavoring. Blueberry milkshake - seasonal milkshake. It wasn't as sweet as the strawberry shake. You can taste the little bits of blueberries that were blended in.

Super Duper is here y'all! Free burger and fries and small drink for the soft opening with code. My friends and I had 7 people and we were out here in force LOL. Our burgers were cooked medium rare. Fries for all of us were cold...we would have loved it of they were hot. All of us ordered Garlic fries. Some of us ate here, the others got there's to go. Bacon gouda: fatty bacon really didn't taste tge aioli, but a decent burger. Super duper: double patty was filling for my friend. Once again, the garlic fries were cold. Blueberry shake had blueberries in it, same with the strawberry ne, good flavor. My coffee shake needed more coffee. I felt mine was vanilla with like a hint of coffee. The salads were small and had a lot of room left over. It's weird because it's spring mix, why not fill it up more? The chicken sandwich was dry. Grilled chicken was meh from what she said and the chibatta roll was tough. This was a skip. She wished she ordered a burger instead LOL. They tossed the dressing in so every salad got drenched from the outside when the salad dressing container opened. Only one of my friends was able to replace it because she noticed. Too late for the others who left. The staff was super friendly and constantly checking on things. That's why the 4 stars.

Super Duper has landed in San Mateo and I was blessed to have gotten a code for a free meal during their friends & family event over the weekend. Located in the same plaza as Whole Foods, parking can be a bit tough during busy hours, but parking turnover is high so be patient! The inside looks great - clean and open with tons of seating all around and the outdoor seating along the building ain't bad either. My fiancé and I opted for their mini burgers and garlic fries and y'all, the food is fabulous. Just how we remember it and the best part is we don't have to drive all the way to Daly City anymore! The staff was friendly and inviting - made great conversation and asked for feedback. With Super Duper in the neighborhood, I'm sure our frequent visits to In-n-Out is going to change!

Burgers were awesome, really juicy and perfectly cooked, but what blew my mind was their buns, so soft!! Service was great. I loved how you can order from the self service kiosk. Ambiance is chill and not too crowded. I really recommend it. Their fries and pickles are pretty meh.

Burger, fries and milkshake = deliciousness! It's a bit on the pricey side, they don't have a kids menu and no nuggets for the little guy. Overall, their food is good and I'll be back.

I don't want to indicate in any way that this wasn't a good burger. It was fine. Tasty. Def way better than In-N-Out. And not special. The meat was good. The burger was pretty - actually looked just like a photo of it. A mini was plenty for me and the hubs had a super (two patties). Perfectly adequate portions without going overboard. And not special. If I were to categorize special in our area (Peninsula), I'd put Godfather's on the list. I'd put Maverick Jack's on the list. I'd even recommend Jersey Joe's. For a fast food burger with a comparable price point (lest you think I only know hoity-toity burgers), Five Guys. The fries are outstanding there (and abundant) and there are way more choices for add ons for the burgers. And mostly, IMO the burgers are more flavorful. Your drink comes in a waxed cup at Five Guys, instead of glass like Super Duper (which is nice, btw) but glass means you can't leave sipping the last of your soda. You have to stay put. Net is, if I'm in the plaza and hungry for a burger, I'd happily eat there. But if I'm looking for a destination burger, hoity-toity or just quick and tasty, like a Smokeshack at Shake Shack, Super Duper wouldn't be my destination. Employees friendly and efficient. Restaurant clean, organized, well attended by staff. Bright and modern. A-Ok on the inside if you'd like to eat in.

I've been to super duper in a few times when I used to live in SF and wasn't really impressed there, but thought I'd give this place a try. Decent burger; I'd be alarmed if they messed up a simple burger considering they are a burger place. Ordered on a tablet so I didn't have any issues with service since I served myself. Inside it was modern and clean which I'd hope so since this place is fairly new. I'm still not really a fan because of the "money's worth" factor since you pay for burgers and sides (fries) separately like shake shack, if I'm craving a burger I'd rather go to In-N-Out.

Quick take: super oily I ordered a mini burger plus cheedar with everything and an order of garlic fries. Self ordering kiosk. Also self clean up afterwards. The burger was super salty and oily. Unbelievable the amount of grease inside the wrapper halfway through. The garlic fries also had a puddle of oil at the bottom of the tray. I've been to other locations and it isn't this greasy. The pickles are good.

Visited the San Mateo location for the first time since it took over the former Habit location. I can't say enough good things about this place! Clean, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, delicious food! Thanks and we'll be back...worth driving past the others closer to my house (Habit, In-n-Out) to go here...I'm a convert!

I wasn't particularly a fan of Super Duper Burgers before, but after I've gone here many times since they opened here earlier this summer, I can honestly say that I am a fan and I now regularly happily come here. Parking in front of the restaurant is challenging as they are between several other popular restaurants and shops. There is underground parking which is further away by a little but much more plentiful. I enjoy their Chicken Sandwich, regular fries, and to my shock, I like their soft serve ice cream. I say shock because I have never really liked soft serve anywhere at all. It is so creamy and light and doesn't taste like it came from a powder . I like the fact that there seems to be always someone(ether the manager or a floor lead) that walks around and checks in if you need something and to see if we're doing well. Service has been great so far.

This is like the third time I've had super duper and each time is pleasure! The meat was perfectly cooked...fries were hot and crispy...all good!!!

So I've been to four different Super Duper locations in the Bay, and while they were all good, I came here, ordered a veggie burger, and thought it was probably the best Super Duper burger I've had yet. The veggie burger was flavorful, slightly crispy on the edges, and overall much tastier than the veggie burgers I've gotten at other locations. Whatever this location is doing different, please keep it up! :) Service was fantastic too. Someone came around checking in with customers asking how the food was. At this point, I kind of had scarfed down like half of my burger, so it was safe to say that I was enjoying it. (Also, thank you for opening a location in San Mateo, I was extremely excited when I found out LOL)

A solid burger, shake and fries option in the area! We stopped by after a visit to Whole Foods, and the place was a real hit with the kids! The burger and fries were the highlights, the garlic fries were crisp and well coated with garlic flavor - not very many for the dollar amount, and the dips are great but given the price, I feel should just be included, rather than an extra $2. The burger was cooked well, juicy, and strong mustard flavor. I was a fan of the bird sandwich from the original location, but think it could be polarizing, it is very vegetal, loaded with herbs and celery, which may not be everyone's favorite choice in a fried chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, the chicken was not crispy. The blueberry muffin shake was a nice idea, but im not sure that the muffin crumble added much texture, they may have softened up a bit too much. strawberry milkshake was great!

Hands down the best "fast food" burger I've had in a long time. The flavor of the beef is amazing! You can actually taste the fresh umami beef! Most burgers at this price taste like salt and stale beef. The milk shakes are equally amazing. I found out they use Strass Creamery ice cream and milk and the difference in taste is WOW! Great selection of soft drinks and beer and wine! There's parking underground with steps that lead right up to a cute outdoor patio with lots of seating.

First of all, a place that does boozy shakes?! Yes please. I love their burgers, but to add to that. This is the only place that I would order a veggie burger!! The staff in San Mateo are all super nice too. So excited there is one close by, but also concerned how to avoid going every day!

I have been there 10 times within the last 2 months, I'm so glad my friend led me to this amazing burger restaurant. Their chicken sandwiches are so tasty, served warm and matches the fries combo very well! Super duber Burger cheeseburgers are so juicy, cooked to the perfection and served with fresh ingredients! This burger place changed the way I see the burgers in my life. This is a must try! Recommending the Chicken Sandwich with American cheese and extra Lettuce(super fresh) on it!

I did not like their overpriced salad that was not even all the way full. If you are going to charge $8 for spring mix and extra money for tge avocado $1.50 and chicken etc then please make sure that the salad is filler all the way. The garlic fries are cold and the people here are rude. The lady manager kept telling everyone to go ask the cashier if we need anything, I asked for a bag and she told me to wait for him. They are newly opened but very unorganized and the salad is small.

I've waited years for a Super Duper to open on the peninsula, and this branch does not disappoint. Very clean, great staff and service, and burgers are as excellent as the Marina and SOMA locations. We love being able to modify burgers to fit dietary restrictions and preferences. I love how I'm reminding of the quality and freshness of the beef patties with every super duper burger I've had. My standard order: - cheeseburger with aged cheddar, extra veggies, jalapeños. sometimes i sub the bun w/ ciabatta - keto cheeseburger, extra veggies - cheeseburger without veggies (kids' request) - fries - ice cream shakes or cones I appreciate them using compostable packaging , stainless steel trays and zero plastics (or as little as possible). Parking was fine on a recent Saturday around 12:30pm Manager walked around regularly to check on tables , and gernrally make sure things were running smoothly (I think I even saw him water one of the potted plants outside). Music playlist on point with a variety of genres, and there were even some Snow Patrol and Duran Duran songs I haven't heard in a while. Oh nostalgia! [Edited to add - they do in fact have beer and wine, so I guess that'll be included in my order next weekend!] The only thing missing for me is this location does not have beer / wine (which SOMA location has), but it's a small aspect that maybe isn't needed for a large portion of their clientele Thank you , Super Duper, for making my burger dreams come true!

So happy we have a location in San Mateo!! I am a huge fan of Super Duper Burgers. The hamburger meat is always fresh and cooked to order. Fries are always nice and crisp and I love their sauces! People sometimes get frustrated with the wait, but they are cooking to order, so nothing is pre-made! While you're waiting, try their homemade pickles, yum! The staff are super friendly and welcoming.

Food and service was all good until the manager came out to the dining area to take his break. He sat a few tables away from me and had his phone on full volume while watching a disturbing video or movie. Sounds of shootings and destruction at full loud volume while customers are dining in trying to enjoy their meal was not a pleasurable experience. The music was a bit loud as well.

If I could give it a 47/5, I would. Service is ace, management checks in for happiness, the burgers and garlic fries are to die for, STRAUSS for the shakes?!?! It's amazing. I couldn't be happier. I would take a pic but the food doesn't last long once it's in front of me. My order: (secret menu item) Super Cali burger double, garlic fries, and a chocolate shake. SERIOUSLY, come here if you're a burger fan.

Our family was looking forward to trying Super Duper and we placed an online order. Unfortunately we discovered when we got home that every item we ordered had missing options that we paid extra for. It wasn't worth driving all the way back to the restaurant to either add the missing options or a refund. Otherwise the staff was friendly when I was there to pick it up but I don't think we'll be going back based on this experience.

So happy to see this location open up. It's lively and the service is pretty fast. If you like spicy try the spicy chicken burger. The veggie burger was unfortunately a bit bland compared to everything else on the menu

Why are they charging customers for employee benefits as a customer??? Shouldn't the company be responsible for that??? You may want to check your receipt. Food and service is good otherwise, but this really turns people off imo.

I don't know why the other reviewers, especially ones who got a free meal, are so rude. The whole point of the soft opening was to train their staff and customers got a free meal out of it! You should expect some of the kinks to be worked out. I thought our experience was great. Staff was friendly and accommodating and we got a free burger. What's there to complain about?!

The burgers are out of this world - juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I love how you can customize them with all sorts of toppings. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the whole visit even better. And can we talk about how clean the place is? It's spotless! Don't miss out on their garlic fries - they're addictive. While it's a bit pricier than your average burger joint, the quality of the food and the overall experience make it totally worth it. Super Duper has definitely become my new favorite spot for a delicious burger fix. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out!

The veggie burger is very good. The truffle veggie burger is phenomenal. Love the kid's size shake/soft serve option for adults.
