Super Duper Burgers

Loud music drown out conversations, makes it hard to hear your number call also. Burgers are not special or standout but I appreciated how hot they arrived, still steaming hot, love it. I ordered the basic to see how well it was seasoned since they are voted to be #1 for 2 years. Good amount of salt but lack flavor. Same with the truffle burger. Garlic fries had a good amount of fresh (real)garlic butter (though I'd love to have more garlic on mine, enough to rebel vampires) topped with cheese. I prefer it to be melted more rather than just dump it on the fries. I gave 4 stars because I appreciated how hot the food was & the garlic :)

The burgers were absolutely delicious — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! The ice cream was amazing too, super creamy and refreshing. On top of that, the service we received from Julián was outstanding — he was friendly, attentive, and made our visit extra enjoyable. Definitely coming back!

This for what I’ve ordered is garlic fries with salt on them. It’s very salty due to the amount of salt that was being put in on the fries themselves, except for the garlic mixture that flavors the fries. At first, when I started ordering, I asked them for this kind of fries with no salt on the fries themselves, before adding the garlic mixture to the fries themselves. When I got a response from a couple of employees that are working there about how it was made when I made the request for no salt on the fries itself, they said they usually put salt on the fries, no matter what kind of different fries that you ordered. For example, if it’s just regular French fries with nothing on them, they just put the salt on the fries no matter what the customer is asking for, no salt or not. In other words, they said that they couldn't do that at my request because of having no salt on the fries itself, except for the garlic mixture. It was not right of them to refuse to fulfill my request for my fries when I was asking for no salt on my fries. I tried the other location of the same name, and they said that they don’t put salt on their fries. That is how I know that the other locations know how they handle their fries like that with good customer service. In the end, all they asked me was to see if I wanted to cancel my order. At that time, for the time that they were open until closing for the night, I decided to order them because the other location was closed at 9pm. Overall, the customer service was not good, and my fries tasted too salty. That’s why I’m writing this review with regard to this type of fries only.

This is about the only fast food burger that is not overcooked. You can easily customize your burger. You can get a turkey or veggie burger (though I would not) and who doesn’t like Strauss soft serve.) all the packaging is compostable and the pickles are free! Really, it’s as good as a burger place can be!

Really one of the best burgers I've ever had. I got the Philly burger with garlic fries. Fast service super good food.

This place definitely hit the spot for my cheeseburger craving! I got the super burger. The patty was juicy and flavorful, and the bacon added a nice salty touch. The over-medium egg was cooked perfectly, with a runny yolk that ended up all over my hands. And the fries were super yummy. The staff at the counter were very nice and answered all of my questions. Overall, a fantastic burger experience!

The taste of the burgers is so authenticate. The fries are fresh and tasty. I had the super burger and the wife a spicy chicken sandwich, which was definitely spicy. Overall this is a good spot to eat excellent great burgers in a good atmosphere. All the ingredients taste very fresh and the service is good too. I recommend 5/5 A bit pricy but it’s worth it. Great dinner/lunch spot if you’re getting off work after a Friday!

Super Duper Burgers has good food, and I appreciate the convenience of the self-checkout. However, the customer service could definitely be better. When I asked a few simple questions about the menu, it felt like I was talking to a brick wall. The lack of engagement and the blank stares from the employees made the interaction feel awkward and uncomfortable. Overall, I would still come back for the food, but the customer service and overall interaction could use improvement.

Service was amazing! Brenda was warm and inviting. She was quick and professional. Milkshake was fire!

These guys are the best. Always a great burger and story time... My dumb self ordered at the sf location in DoorDash and these guys scrambled to get me my food while I sat there thinking I did it right. When they couldn't find it I finally saw my mistake. No questions asked they made me a burger and sent me on my way. I offered to pay again at the right location but they wouldn't have it. I had a rough day and this just made my day. Great spot. A Staple of Emeryville :)

This is my kids' favorite place to go. I like that they source locally and with organic ingredients. The prices are reasonable considering the quality. Veggie burgers include lots of free toppings: fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions, a tasty sauce, hummus, cucumbers, grilled onions, and jalapeño. Yes, those are all free. They also have good fries, lemonade, salads, and soft serve. Ordering on the screens is easiest if you want your toppings to be customized. There is seating inside and about four tables outside. The people who work there work fast and hard, and they always get our order right.

I was on a crusade to find the best burger franchise in the bay area, I think it's the Super Duper Burgers above everywhere else like in n out and habit grill. Feels like they season their burgers aggressively which was a big plus for me. And the value per meal is better than the habit grill. And phone order/pick up without waiting beats the hell out of in n out all day. They need more locations in the east bay tho.

We came to the market and my kids wanted to try this place. There's kiosk where you order yourself and get a buzzer. It was a little pricey but my kids did get the works! There's tables inside or outside. The service was pretty fast. I can tell the meat was definitely higher quality. The burger was pretty delicious and filling. The milkshake are just as good my kids loved this place.

We stopped by here for lunch for the first time. The place is new, clean with limited seating. The service was quick and friendly. The cheeseburger was cooked medium and tasted great. The chicken sandwich had excellent flavor and came in a unique pita like bun. Definitely will be back!

Super Duper is, well, super duper! I usually go in, but on my most recent visit Monday, I opted for Doordash. I got the garlic fries, a kid's mocha shake, and a mini burger. In this case, mini means a single patty instead of two, so it's not small. The kids' shake is small, but it's the perfect size if you just want a bit of sweetness. Did I mention it was organic? The garlic fries come with shredded parmesan and fresh herbs on top. I don't recommend fries for carryout. They come barely lukewarm. They were still delicious, but not nearly as satisfying as when they are piping hot. The burger was delicious and made all the more perfect with an egg. Places that offer an egg are the best! The Super Duper sauce makes it just the right degree of messy. The burger also retains its heat better. It was nice and warm. Lunch was really good and so filling I didn't really need dinner. Definitely recommended but eat in if you can.

Always like this place as a go to easy spot for dinner with or without kids. Order on the kiosk and he service is pretty fast. Food is made to order and comes out hot. I always get their salad with grilled chicken with lemon vinaigrette. I like the combo of quinoa, tomatoes, cucumbers, variety of greens, and the dressing goes well with the grilled chicken which they chop up in slices. Love they offer shakes in a kiddie size - it's okay for adults to order this also bc it's not only for kids! My cousin said their veggie burger was tasty and crisp. The garlic fries were drenched in oil so I prefer them to be less greasy - don't think we ordered with cheese on top but it came that way so maybe that's why it was more oily. Pretty clean every time we have been here and the seating is usually plentiful. I like their complimentary pickles also.

I normally love superduper, but this past order of a kids sized cone is a joke! Usually, it's a three swirl height, I got some goopy dump and it was done. $5. Gotta be kidding me.

Might be my last time eating here. I just watched employees watch a vagrant pick through the free pickles. This is how disease starts in a restaurant.

The place was busy when we got there on Saturday night, but service was quick. Ambiance a bit quirky/industrial. Order via a screen. Burgers were super juicy and tasty. Fries were good too. Kinda like a fancier (and pricier) in-n-out. Kids enjoyed their ice cream, while I enjoyed my beer. Don't forget to try their homemade pickles.

The only location other than SFO that has the fried chicken sandwich. Ordered the spicy version. Very flavorful and delicious. Juicy as well. Self service kiosk to order your food with a buzzer when ready! Cool relaxed vibe!!

My daughter said her cheeseburger was delicious so I decided to update my review. She said the customer service was meh but the restaurant was busy.

After visiting many of their locations, Super Duper Burgers has become my go-to burger joint. I always get the same burger, and it's always consistently super juicy, with good beefy flavor. My order is a Super Burger - with cheese - No super sauce, Mayo and ketchup instead - No lettuce, tomatoes, onion This was my first time at this location, and my experience was no different from the others. Here's to more Super Duper Burger in 2025!

I was in the area when we decided to come to Super Duper burger in the evening. The place is located near apartment complexes and other restaurants. It's also connected to a market where there are other restaurant and bars. It's a very spacious area and you have options to sit in the actual restaurant or in the marketplace. We came on a weekday evening so it wasn't busy at all. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with a side of garlic fries. We also ordered the three sauces. The chicken sandwich had a lot of sauce and flavor to it. The chicken was tender and juicy! The fries were delicious as well.

Curiously juicy burgers - had a double burger with avocado and loved it. Tons of light in dining room from roll up glass door. Small details like home made pickles and gluten free pasta straw for soda. Curiously juicy burgers. That's how I described the first Super Duper I ever had - that's how I describe this burger. Super Duper really needs to trademark my description of their burgers because its spot on. I keep thinking how is it possible its so juicy. What do they do? And the first bite is as good as the last. Ambiance here is spot on. It's perfect. Tons of natural light - and I think this is the only restaurant in all of the public market with this characteristic. We ate at the bar that overlooks the pig in a pickle - and if you want beer you don't even have to go to the bar - they serve those right here - not true of many of the other restaurants in this area. Home made pickles were unique. Grab as many as you like near the soda fountain. And enjoy your drink with a gluten free pasta noodle. How fun is that? Even Donald Trump complained of these paper straws that disintegrate, stick to your lips and explode. Nobody likes that. Perfectly friendly staff - just wonderful... And the self order kiosks worked perfectly. Clean restaurant. Also I noticed a recession burger combo with drink and fries for $10. If your having financial problems or maybe are trying to feed a large family might make sense. I didn't try it - from the photo it looked a bit bare bones and I like big luxury burgers with extras. If you tried their depression burger let me know how it was. Everything was absolutely perfect. If all restaurant experiences were like this I think I'd go out more often.

I had a terrible experience at this location, which I visit frequently. Tonight, the service was horrible, and I felt treated poorly by Alex Ortiz, the so-called manager. He should be managing a dog park instead of a restaurant like Super Duper. I ordered my burger with an egg over hard, but it came back over easy. After I sent it back, it returned burnt, and the manager seemed to dismiss my concerns, implying that I should have expected it to look that way. This location needs new management I really believe that Mr Ortiz has a problem with African American people The remark Mr Ortiz made was very insulting!!

This was my first time trying Super Duper burgers. I took one bite and my first thought was, "this is better than in n out!" I like that the burger patty actually has meat in it. I also liked that I could pick my own cheese and add toppings like bacon! The burger was juicy and flavorful! My friend ordered the seasonal hazelnut shake which she said tasted like a Ferrero Rocher chocolate and she was right. She ordered the kids size which is the perfect little treat size if you don't want too much. She actually ended up and purchasing another hazelnut shake before we left the store and trying hers convinced me to get one too. Another thing my friend mentioned that was noteworthy is that because of the quality of ingredients that they use like the vegetarian fed beef, the meal doesn't leave you feeling gross after. We felt like we ate a good meal and had energy to keep going about our evening without feeling weighed down by our food. I ordered the fries too because potatoes are always a win. There wasn't anything particularly special about the fries. What I did notice was that the ketchup was vinegary tasting which sort of makes it feel house made. I appreciated that aspect. I was told they are known for their house made pickles that can be found in a large jar by the soda foundation. They were delicious and paired well with our burgers. After trying Super Duper, I truly wish we had one in my city. I'm still thinking about these burgers and will find my way back to a super duper.

I've only ever visited Super Duper for the soft serve before. I'd never gotten anything else. It was time to try the legendary burger. I don't know why I thought it could be hohum. I'm pleased to be wrong. I got the recession combo and added cheese. I would bring any burger fan here. No notes!!! I upgraded to the garlic fries. This was my main mistake. There was a generous amount of freshly shredded, unmelted cheese. Perhaps trying this is a better idea when I can pop it into an air fryer for a minute or so to get that melt. I scooped most off because plain garlie fries are still awesome, right? Plain garlic fries is an oxymoron. I discarded my order. I was really disappointed in the fries. The pickles are divine! Any pickle fiend will love this! I remember reallt liking the soft serve. It doesn't quite live up to my memory. I'd return but I would probaby order the plain fries. I wished I loved it!

Food is good. I wouldn't really call it super though. Service is non existent, you have to order everything yourself. Also, I bought a jalapeño cheese fries, when they gave it to me, I started walking out until I realized they didn't give me the jalapeño, when I went back they told me they ran out. Rather then tell me before I picked up my food or right after, they were just going to let me walk away. But food is okay so giving it 3 stars.

Brenda's service is amazing. We are from Kansas City, and automatically wanted to eat here due to the service. The Food is so good comes out fresh!!! Lemonade original- sweet but not too sweet. Make sure it's on ice Veggie Jalepeno Burger - Light, sauced, and is not too spicy. Just perfect. Fries, Cheese, Jalepeno- great I do wish the cheese could have been melted just a little bit. But overall. 10/10. House Pickles- are like no other. I couldn't forget those.

Soggy fries in a puddle of grease. Smash burger tastes really bad. I couldn't finish it. I had to wash my mouth out with some ice cream immediately afterward to get the bad taste out of my mouth. The shake was too milky and lacked the thickness of a good shake. Overall, the worst burger experience of my life next to being served a burger with moldy tomatoes at a Nations.

Food is good. Service is OK ambience chatter, and people come here when you're hungry. Try your burger.

I tried the super burger with lettuce wrap - the physical menu doesn't list that you can do this but the online ordering site does, and you can ask at the counter when you order in person for them to use lettuce instead of abread bun. The burger was quite juicy. It has onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese, the usual burger sauce. I liked it a lot, but I wish their veggie burger was more comparable to it (I've had the veggie burger in the past and found it less flavorful overall). The burger by itself may not be enough to make you full though.

This Super Duper Burger restaurant is always high quality and consistent. We come all the way from Pleasanton for their burgers. Love the fresh garlic fries, the homemade pickles. The burgers are always perfect. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. Wish they'd open a branch in Pleasanton and Monterey! Great service to all the hard working people at this restaurant! Super Duper Burger in Emeryville was great! The service and convenient location were a great compliment. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was a little over cooked, but tasty. The garlic fries were soggy and not crispy because of too much oil and cheese. This made me sad because I paid extra for them. I would have a problem returning again and trying the fries again to see if they improved.

First time visiting the emeryville location and was not disappointed. My boyfriend got the super burger, which is usually my go to at the telegraph location that we frequent. The burger was juicy and flavorful. The garlic parmesan fries are another favorite of ours and were just as good at the emeryville location. I gave the chicken sandwich a try, but felt that it was just okay compared to the burger. The chicken had good flavor but the rest of the sandwich was pretty dry, but overall not bad. Definitely could have used some more sauce. The atmosphere was busy for a Sunday night compared to other spots. The service was neither good nor bad, not much to say on this front considering we used the self check kiosk. Would definitely return and get the burger.

I was in Emeryville and wanted a quick place for a bite and stumbled Super Duper Burgers on Yelp! Who wouldn't enjoy a juicy burger? This location is next to many other food eateries so there are other options. I read the reviews and should have followed the advice and ordered with Brenda! I ended up using the self ordering kiosk. It would have been easier just ordering with one of the workers. I ordered the Super Burger with jalapeños and fried egg. I also saw that there were complimentary house made pickles! The burger came out just as I ordered and it was nice and tasty. I realized that it did not have lettuce, onions, or tomatoes. I checked my receipt and no must have pressed the option to have the "plain" burger. I would have enjoyed the burger more if I had the lettuce, onions and tomatoes, but that was my error. I met Brenda after I was done ordering, and she is definitely helpful and has a smile and positive attitude. I'll definitely come back next time and order through Brenda!

This food court area is very nice. There's so many food options and also plenty of seats available. Decided to try super duper because I heard that the garlic fries were good, and they were right! I got the super burger (4/5) which comes with two patties. This is a solid burger imo but it is greasy and a bit too salty. I felt my blood pressure go up with this burger lol but it definitely hit the burger craving. The garlic fries (4/5) were also really good! I even wish it to be a bit more garlicky because I find that the ketchup masks the flavor almost completely. Definitely recommend getting this! The cookies n cream shake (3.5/5) was all right. It's a typical shake but I still like other places more. Overall a nice fastfood place and I'd definitely come back here for the garlic fries.

This place makes great burgers and has fast service. I really like the fancy ketchup and mustard. They've added kiosks for ordering, which makes it contactless and convenient. It can get a bit noisy though. Still it's a favorite of mine for emeryville.

Great food, great location, great service! The burgers are absolutely delightful and definitely taste more unique than others out there. I always enjoy going to super duper because I know they have service I can rely on and consistent quality. What makes this place even better is that it's located in a sort of food court building where you can go out and have drinks, dessert, and try other places as well! All around a fantastic burger spot and very recommendable!

One line review: A great burger. Our experience as Super Duper was a mixed bag. The cashier seemed like a genuinely nice fellow, but we did not get our order as requested (we verbally asked for lettuce wrap instead of a bun and they acknowledged the request, but it came on a bun anyway). The chocolate malt didn't taste very malted. The garlic fries had a surprising amount of cheese on them but not much garlic. So why am I giving this four stars? Because despite the shortcomings, this was a memorably good burger. Tasty, thick-cut bacon. The Gouda was a nice change. And lots of meat. I've heard people say that the thing that really makes a burger is all of the produce and such, but I am unpersuaded. A burger without lots of good meat is NOT a good burger in my world. This one was tasty and had a little bit of a kick (pepper, hot sauce?). It was good enough to be worth dealing with all of the smaller mishaps. Value was okay but would have been better if we had skipped the malted shake and just ordered plain fries. Our cashier was friendly enough, but apparently, the message didn't get through about our wanting the lettuce wrap option (there was no way to indicate both that AND wanting two meat patties -- an oddity of their kiosk ordering system). The woman who was at the pickup window was less inclined to be helpful, saying only that it didn't say 'lettuce wrap' on the receipt (the system doesn't allow the customer to indicate that!). So I rate customer service 'mediocre' overall. Parking was free in their lot and on the little street that runs past the restaurant. Bottom line: This is a burger worth coming back for. But we'll have to see if we can find a way to get the lettuce wrap.

I went there for lunch and had a positive experience. I really like the self service kiosks for ordering because it's way easier for me to modify my orders than when talking to any cashier. And even then, when I looked too puzzled someone asked me politely if I needed assistance. I ordered the recession combo, mostly because I thought the name was funny. I subbed for garlic fried and the seasonal milkshake, lemon berry shortcake. I was impressed by the garlic fried! They were garlicky and cheesy, which are my two favorite garlic fry characteristics. The smash burger was also really good (I liked all the onions). The milkshake was also delicious. My only problem with the milkshake was that they gave me a straw that didn't work for the milkshake. This is to say, lemon berry shortcake had lots of fun and delicious cookie crumbs throughout, but the straw was too narrow to facilitate the crumbs. So my straw clogged with every other sip. In the end, I through the straw away and finished my milkshake by pouring it directly down my throat like a heathen. I thought about giving one less stars because of the straws, but the food was served quickly and hot and it was tasty and the people were nice, which are all of my burger joint criteria. It's not this location's fault that super duper burger only seems to make on size of straw. Bring your own straw, I guess?

I'll start by saying I've been going to Super Duper for a very long time. It was one of my go to spot for food. However, I've noticed the experience gradually deteriorating over the years. First, the home made pickles kept shrinking, then the size of the burger kept getting smaller, then the prices kept going up and now you barely get any fries when you order them. They have also removed as much staff as they can: you order on a screen, pick up your order at a counter, enjoy your meal and clean up after yourself. I've seen more staff in a McDonalds than here. And after all that, the quality also has taken a turn for the worse. This was my $18 sandwich and garlic fries meal. Note the quantity and the burnt sandwich. I think this may have been my last visit to any Super Duper until something changes.

Am I crazy to say that this is the best burger I have had? We were coming home from the Giants game and I did not eat at the ballpark googled. Something just passed the bridge and these burgers looked amazing on yelp so I stopped. We were not disappointed. Everybody was super friendly And there was seating everywhere and tons of other options close by if you were not into a burger the best part is, they gave me unlimited pickles. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later.

When I tell you my burger was so good..... I was closing my eyes in pleasure as I ate it. I got the super burger with cheddar cheese and a side of fries. My food was fresh, hot, and delicious. Also, oddly, my burger was nostalgically delicious like how good Burger King was when I was a kid. But better.

Was greeted with a welcoming smile from the second I walked in! Brenda was warm and pleasant with her hospitality and enthusiasm while showing me around the store. The food is Super Duper amazing! Thank you! Storm M.

Burger, fries and chocolate malt was so delicious. Ingredients taste so fresh, the bun is soft the vegetables were crispy and so were the fries. Brenda at the Public Market location was so helpful and made my first experience so enjoyable.

Came here while on a walk in the afternoon just to get some milkshakes, though we've been here before, too. You can't beat the pricing on a veggie burger from this place, and it feels like an upscale American fast-food place while still having somewhat-comparable prices. I got their strawberry-shortcake milkshake, and it took a minute for it to be ready which I think was because of the volume of orders. The ambience inside is a bit loud but also nice, and I love the public market in general because you can easily sit down and watch a sports game or head outside for a walk. It's super kid friendly, too; we went outside to a cute play structure that was just outside, making this place a great stop if you're on the go and want to just keep moving with a milkshake or something warm in hand.

I still love this place and will continue coming with my family but they've started to only fill fry baskets half way on takeout orders and it's kinda wild? I got takeout because I wasn't sure if my kid wanted to go eat at the park in the back of the property. So when I took the bags out, 2 were filled normally and one was half full. When I showed the nice person working, she said something to someone I'm assuming is the manager to her right, and it didn't feel great the way he responded. They overstuffed that bag lol I'm grateful they fixed it but not sure what happened recently because this has been an issue for a few months and only today was I able to address it since I sat in the hall to eat (due to my boss baby wanting to do that) The restaurant is always clean and I love that I've brought my now 5 year old here since he was a newborn. They do a great job keeping it pleasant and I appreciate the self check-out screens for those of us who know what we want.

Food wasn't super duper, not sure why the container for the salad was half empty. Maybe use another container instead of a big one? Or add a little more lettuce would help. Food was OK, the SF location seems a bit better. The service was nice.

My husband and I came here over the weekend to grab a quick milkshake to share. I love how there is two self order counters and one service counter for if you decide to order with an employee. The layout is clean and vibrant with lots of natural sunlight. The hustle and bustle of this restaurant is vast. You have little kids who just came from their sport games and families who are grabbing a quick bite to eat. I like how there's seating inside and outside of the restaurant. I got the regular milk shake - vanilla with malt. Malt was an additional $.50. Super creamy and hit the spot. They also have kid sizes for if you just want a "fun" portion. I also think their burgers are pretty juicy and grilled nicely. Will have to grab one next time I'm here!

I placed an order online and when I arrived 15 minutes later, a text came through that said my order was ready. After I parked my car and headed in I told the counter person my name, and she said my order wasn't ready. I was surprised and decided to wait a few more minutes. I watched as order after order was filled, and my receipt just sat there. I told her the text said my order was ready, she said it wasn't, that it was being prepared. I watched again and finally 10 minutes later it was done. I honestly think they accidentally gave my order away or forgot to make it but instead of saying something, they made me wait for another without a word. I almost canceled but decided to not because I had waited and was hungry. I got home and thought the chicken sandwich looked good, but it was honestly mediocre. The spice was okay. The pickles were good, but not great. My first experience here and I'm not impressed. Can't say whether I'll try again.

Fairly simple menu with a decent cheeseburger. The hardest part was ordering for me. It was difficult to tell what was included with the burger. It does come with sauce if you were wondering and cheese is extra. Mini and regular are the same size bun and burger. Regular is just an extra patty. Drinks may come out when you order at the counter, or be provided at the counter around the corner. Pickles appear homemade though and have a little kick! They are located on the side of the drinks dispenser - along with the mustard and ketchup. Since this located in a public market, feel free to sit anywhere. It is a little cold in there, so keep in mind not all tables have heat running. Restrooms are located in the far corner across the building, keep walking, you'll find it. Parking lots across the street are available and free.

Easy choice when you're hanging with kiddos and need some non-beef options. Super Duper Burger - Emeryville has touch screen ordering, buzzing pagers, and DIY order pickup, drink and condiments. I had the truffle burger with fries/soft drink and order of sauces (4), and my niece had the chicken sandwich with avocado with fries/soft drink. Our meals came out to about $50 -- pretty steep for a greasy burger and mediocre fries. The sauces were good but one of them tasted like plain old mayo. I liked the truffle burger but it was a bit overkill. The presentation was nice and looked pretty clean inside -- plus there was plenty of seating. The transition from ordering to drinks to getting the food was smooth. Although you're not really interacting with anyone, the service seemed okay. At the end of dine in, we asked for a to go box but the staff said all they had was boat trays and a bag. Overall, the experience was a memorable one.
