17 Horizon-Expanding Restaurants in Hillsboro

"It’s not scientifically proven, but taquerias embedded in supermarkets are often sure bets. At least that theory holds for Supermercados Mexico, where the tacos teeming with juicy al pastor and wonderful lengua beat any typical taco truck. And tacos are just a small portion of the menu, which covers most of the Mexican all-stars. As an added bonus, the taqueria’s well-stocked salsa bar provides a standout green avocado sauce, ideal for smothering burritos. For immediate gratification, Supermercados Mexico has a handful of decoratively tiled tables near the counter for dining in." - Krista Garcia, Janey Wong

A Guide to Eating and Drinking in Beaverton, Tigard, and Hillsboro Right Now | Eater Portland

"I value this oldest Hispanic grocery in Hillsboro for its mercado staples: a bakery, meat and seafood counter, fresh produce, salsa and queso bar and homemade jalea; their in-house chorizo is something special." - Jordan Curtis

When you want quality food and produce. It’s always a good idea to shop where the locals shop and eat. We love supporting this business.

Google
Visited 1st time yesterday. Loved the cerviche Cameron 😋. Nice market. Lots of selection at the deli. Even got food to.order to go or dine in. Had a really tasty banana horchata and other options. Clean and super friendly staff. I'll definitely be back.

Google
Staff is friendly, fast and attentive. I appreciated the lady at the register asking if I needed a spoon with my cake purchase. I like how they stay focused on business while still being friendly. The produce is excellent and exceeds expectations.

I went to Velda salon in paisanos plaza with an excellent experience. Great

Google
The meat deli, cheese, sauces, the bread is the best (hands down) everything except the little restaurant. It has gone down so bad and I don't understand why. I've been here for years and these past 3 years have been the worst. I ordered a horchata and it was terrible the worst. The food is not good at all anymore. Everything else in the store is amazing the best quality and quantity.

Google
What an awesome grocery spot. Their meats are top tier (pause), and the fresh salsa is amazing. Got some stuff to make tacos and made for a spectacular dinner. Staff are very nice and helpful, store is clean. Arrachera is the way to go

Google
This place is fantastic! There were so many cooked items to choose from, all looked delicious. My mouth was watering while waiting in line! I found this market in search of fried pork belly. I'm from Louisiana, where cracklin is very popular, and I've been craving it. I searched everywhere with no luck until I saw a picture of their pork belly on Google Maps. I have to say, this is better than any cracklin, chicharron, or fried pork belly that I've ever had. Just DELICIOUS! Other than the fried pork belly, they have SO much to offer. There are many salsas and dips to choose from, all made in the store. There's fresh produce and cheeses and an abundance of meats, some already marinaded. Best of all, everything was decently priced. 👏🙌💃🌶

Google
A great combo of a Hispanic super market with a restaurant inside. It's a win-win combo. While waiting for my food, we were able to shop around and pick up some of their salsas and pastries. The tacos here are great and the selection of salsas at the salsa bar is amazing! We also ordered some tacos to go as they were delicious and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Very tasty Mexican food in the deli in back of the supermarket. Plenty of options! Got the carnitas plate and Caldo de Res. Portions are good sized. Carnitas had tender meat with tortillas, rice and beans. Caldo was tasty, lots of ingredients, flavorful broth with and veggies. Tried all the salsas from the salsa bar, plenty to choose from to complement your dishes. Grab a menu near the cash register, order at the counter, and they call out your order number when ready. Food came out fast and friendly service. Plenty of small table seating, you can eat there or take away. They call out order numbers in Spanish and English. Walked around the store and bought some pastries, so many to choose from. We also bought a seasoned roasted chicken to take home for dinner. They also have pre made salsa, prepared meats, and cheeses and so much more to buy to take home. Can't wait to come back to try other dishes and buy more treats!

Yelp
Highly recommend for authentic Mexican food! I've had the pastor, asada, and quesabirria tacos. (marinated pork, steak, slow cooked beef). Today was chilly so back to the quesbirria with consommé (beef roast broth).
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Awesome place for nicely trimmed meats and other Mexican ingredients. Best of all the restaurant inside is fantastic. Get groceries, eat, then take some freshly made ceviche to go!
google avatar

Nick N.

Yelp
The restaurant in the back is a hidden gem. All the food here is delicious! My favorite has always been the super nachos. The meats are well seasoned, well made, and all so good. Prices are reasonable as well. Salsa bar is great as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Busy Central American market with everything you need to prepare delicious foods and to grab a quick bite. They have a food court also but lately, they're skimping on their offerings and the service is kind of meh.... If you want better food and more options, there is a Hispanic mall with a food court in the back that is better tasting, cheaper and prepared in front of you with natural ingredients. The Supermercado's food court was good in the past; it's still acceptable but you have better options next door. Market is full of fresh veggies and fruits, their meats are nicely displayed and service is excellent!
google avatar

Yen S.

Yelp
Love this place especially the food court part of the store! Although can be challenging if you don't speak a whole lot of Spanish.
google avatar

Derek I.

Yelp
Probably the most legit "taco shop" on the Westside. This is the closest to SD taco shop I can get near Hillsboro. They've got a pretty good produce and meat section as well. For their hot food section: - Beans are 15/10 - super creamy and don't taste heavy - rice is 15/10 - flavorful and not greasy - burritos 4/5 - filling and reasonably priced - tacos 4/5 - decently sized and simple
google avatar

Josie C.

Yelp
I gotta say I got some of the best tacos I ever had here. They have really good chicharrones too. Salsa. Everything is just really good and tastes authentic. It's a little tricky here when you only speak English, but to be expected.
google avatar

Vivian N.

Yelp
Was missing authentic Mexican food after living in LA for 15 years. I LOVE this supermarket. It's by far my favorite place to eat and shop at..it just hits home for me. There's produce, a food court, pastries, chicharrones, ceviches, etc. The employees and customers are also really nice! (Some were even dancing to the music!) Definitely coming here again.
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
This is a cool shop to get some good pastries and salsas by the pound. They also have an assortment of queso fresco in the deli and wide range of meats that have been marinated. The also have a restaurant/hot deli side that has a great selection of food. The food here is pretty good and the salsa bar is amazing. The shop also have local ingredients that may not be found in the common supermarket.
google avatar

Aaron M.

Yelp
WOW! The chilaquiles con carne asada is amazing! Everything was just right. The carne had great flavor, with no gristle. Very meaty and such a big portion. Almost too much for one sitting, especially coupled with the huge plate of chilaquiles. Which, were also so good. The verde sauce was delicious, with just the right spice. The other salsas and carrots/peppers topped everything off perfectly. Great job. Can't wait to return.
google avatar

Baltazar R.

Yelp
Probably the most significant Mexican store in the area. Not only has a large area for fruits and vegetables but there's also a section for sweet bread, butcher and a restaurant. The tacos at the restaurant are a good deal, less than one dollar per taco and they are good enough for the price. The butcher section has pork rinds and beef and all sorts of meats you may look for, as well as ton of salsas and dishes to take home. There are about 4 ailes full of cans, candy, beer and all sorts of things Mexican in case you want to buy anything... The only problem here is the highly marked up prices. Everything here seems more expensive than in any other store, I still haven't found something that I bought and didn't feel robbed. There's free parking adjacent to the store, so you can take your time browsing and eating some tacos or tortas here.
google avatar

Yuli L.

Yelp
I like to come here for my Taco potluck or morning pastries for the office. This store is pretty huge, and has everything you'd need for your Mexican cooking. If you are not in the mood of cooking, you can buy fresh cooked meats, salsa and cheese from the counter, or you can get to go order from the attached restaurant!

Rey N.

Yelp
The meat market is a very good one, fresh and good cuts as well as the other specialty foods like chorizo. I am greatly disappointed at our recent family experience in purchasing the chicken wings that are already spiced and prepared. The wings are more expensive than the drumsticks. Three times now, when buying the wings, the butcher will mix drumsticks with the wings, thereby making you pay a higher price for the drumsticks you don't want, and won't return once you catch it at home, and your out the wings you thought you were buying. Review the purchase when it's handed to you, or just look out, as the drumsticks are under the wings, and they will pull them without you knowing. Very disappointed, but i guess times are hard and even Super Mercado needs to make a buck, even if it's at your expense.

Yelp
I keep thinking I'm going to take pictures in here and THEN write my review but I get distracted by all the goodies and forget. Every.Single.Freaking. Time. There's too much good stuff to look at. Today I went in looking for pasilla chile powder so I can make my crockpot chicken chili number more legit. Bought three kinds of chile ( 99 cents per each little bag). My mom always bought it like this when we lived in Arizona. If youre not grinding your own and you buy it in small amounts, this is the way to go. You use it up faster and because you do, its fresher. I didnt buy the 99 cent saffron...what do you think? Is it REALLY saffron at that price? I just couldn't decide. I also bought cinnamon cookies ( Nostalgia canelas) that I ate growing up in Phoenix as a kid and several bags of adorable teeny pasta ( letters, stars, wagon wheels, macaroni, and shells). Fifty cents each. Princess loves them. Teeny tiny pasta = happy in a bowl. I saw lots to buy: Pan dulce all kinds. mole sauce in a jar dulce de leche huitlacoche in a jar (corn fungus if youre not aware) tortillas, tostadas, tortilla chips big wheels of cotija and queso fresco all kinds of reasonable meats including chicken feet, pigs feet oxtails tripe fish fresh salsas masa tamale wrappers/ corn husks Fresh guacamole deli foods huge cans of hominy canned posole big cans of clams lots of Mexican candy chile in little jars with lime, salt, and sugar ( in Yuma kids dipped their fingers in this to lick it off or ate it on fruit) Fresh nopales and prickly pear fruits chayote squash with and without spines There are several tables and a fresh salsa bar for eating the deli offerngs in house. The food looks great. Roast chicken in particular. Also there is the biggest pork rind I ever saw available for purchase. And beer to go with!(Corona, Dos xx, Tecate). I like this store. My only drawbacks are 1) a couple aisles are super narrow ( and I'm just not) and 2) carts are only by one set of doors -- the other has a turnstile). Also 3) the parking lot is hairy. But. This is an awesome place to shop. Inspiring even.

Yelp
Best place in town to grab a meal! Amazing burritos, tacos and the bakery section smells so good with all the varieties! Plenty of fresh salsas to choose from.

Yelp
My brother had told me about this place and I had been meaning to go for a while. I finally went, and my only complaint is that I hadn't gone there sooner. I went and had al pastor tacos and horchata. They were quick make my order and man was it so good! That and they actually have spicy salsa, none of this "oh it's really spice (*taste like taco bell sauce)" crap. After enjoying my tacos I went around the market and found a lot of Mexican brands and products that you can't find at a Walmart or wherever. For warning though, I'm not sure if the cashier speak English because I order and bought all my stuff speaking Spanish. So that may be an issue, but I'm not 100% sure.
google avatar

Araceli L.

Yelp
Came in here for lunch, got two tacos de asada and two of alpastor. They were very good but the tortilla is not hand made. They have a salsa bar and the avocado green salsa was super good! My friend got a tostada de ceviche and she didn't like it, I had a taste of it and it was missing flavor. They offer free chips that they put out in the counter were you order food so it's kind of wierd but also cool because you can get up and grab as many as you like! They were nice and crunchy, service was pretty fast too

Tim W.

Yelp
The grocery side is great and has a huge selection - totally recommend if you need something specific. Also, the taqueria is amazing! The asada tacos are on par with some of the best I've had. Huge salsa bar selection depending on your preference, and then the horchata just adds that much more. Great spot for some cheap, delicious food!

Amy H.

Yelp
Great market with huge meat, cheese and prepared foods counter. Large and fresh produce section . Also, they have great pan dulce! Most of all, I love this store because the staff is very nice and the store has a nice inviting atmosphere.

West H.

Yelp
I come here for lunch regularly with or without a colleague. Very friendly and attentive staff. I ordered today much like any person off the street may do in order to give a reader a picture of what to expect. As stated in other reviews, always say no oil or very little oil! I did neither to capture a common theme...Today I present the al pastor burrito. In the kitchen you will see this seasoned beauty spinning on a spit (al pastor). The salsa bar is well equipped and hands down one of the most aesthetically pleasing bars you will see. I recommend doing a sniff test, ALWAYS! Sometimes too much vinegar is added or the tomatoes have fermented a bit more than I would be willing to risk (you eat out enough and you will know what I mean). For this reason, I say no pico de gallo or on the side anywhere I go when its added to a burrito. The regular will cost $6 and comes with the traditional make up (beans, rice, meat and pico de gallo). Great portions and relatively prompt service. The deli is located next to a university and hospital and it is common for the line to lengthen as 12:00 pm rolls around. The staff can get a bit testy, if you request salsa to go without buying an item from the hot food deli. AND no, the stuff they sale by the pound in the carneceria does not count. Trust me on this! Also for purchase is pan dulce and agua fresca to top off your meal. A bottle of classic coke is the ultimate cherry on top at a one stop shop. Pick up a pound of carnitas if you have time, which you wont regret!
google avatar

Cassidy C.

Yelp
The carne asada super burrito in the restaurant area was one of the best I've had outside of my native San Diego, and for under $5. Can't beat that! Highly recommended. Market has enormous selection, and everything is fresh, high quality, and cheap.

Yelp
HOLY LARD, this market is freaking awesome. 3 in 1, taqueria / bakery/ market. It's a kind a market you find in Mexico or southern California. I stumbled into Supermercados market after running some errands. I'm really glad I got a chance to check it out. It's very clean, neat, and bright. This is probably the only Mexican market I've been to that's is very clean and no funky raw smell from meat department. It beats all the markets in NE. They make mean carnitas, house made chorizo withe nutural casing ( please see photos), hot sauces, ceviche, yougurt, and crema. I love the fact that you could ask to sample the hot sauce if you not sure which one to get. By the pound, carnitas $6.99/lb, to be exact. And they're served from a deli case alongside rice, beans, chicharones, various pork chile verde dishes, giant chili rellenos, roasted whole chicken, pork ribs, fried whole Talapia, and all sorts of other Mexican goodies. Oh, and fresh-made corn/flour tortillas only available on the weekend. Taqueria, bakery and store also appear onsite, you can dine there as well if you wish. Beside tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, tortas; typical dishes. They have big selections on breakfast items, camaron/pescado = seafood tostadas, huaraches, chavindecas, menudo, caldo de res = pozole caldo, and birria de chivo = goat soup. Oh salsa bar with varieties hot sauces, cilantro, slice radish, onion, etc. Fresh juices: mango, papaya, and guava. Call to order to-go, 503-352-5525. (please see pictures for to-go menu) Good selections of vegetables, chilis, spices, dried goods, bottles hot sauces, house hold goods, etc.... Oh also really cheap 32oz brown bottle beer (Corona or Pacifico) the kind you get it im Mexico for $4/ btl. Helps to know some Spanish, but I saw people pointing and nodding and they seemed to do OK. Spend $50 and you get a free bottle of 1.5lt of Jarritos. I'm not sure if this a short promotion or something they always do.
google avatar

JP P.

Yelp
This place is super overprice. 1 lb of chichirranoes is 8.99?? 3 bottles of beer for 10.99?? I suggest looking at other Mexican stores.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Oh my lord what a delight it was for me to see a Mexican grocery store, not just any but one that has already marinaded meats, cojita cheese, and a bunch of other Mexican goodies. This place is now my go to place to source ingredients when i make Mexican food now and it's in my town too
google avatar

Vilma R.

Yelp
Good small Mexican grocery store, everyone is super friendly, they speak English and Spanish so if you don't speak Spanish don't worry. You can find tamales, tortilla and taco meat. Different fruits and exotic candy. All the way on the back have a small cafe where they have ready to eat food. Check this place out.
google avatar

Brent W.

Yelp
This place has just about everything. The rice pudding, desserts in the bakery case, and salsas are great. The tacos are also good
google avatar

Gigi L.

Yelp
This place is huge! Good selection of produce, I think I counted 6 different types of fresh chile peppers. Lots of marinated meats in the deli cases. Different types of salsas and guacamole that was actually green, not brown, which means it hasn't been sitting out for days. I purchased a layered dessert in a big cup that consisted of tres leches cake, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream. Delicious! And only 1.99. Definitely will be coming back here to pick up ingredients the next time I want to make tamales.

Juan Andrés G.

Yelp
Great place to go for Mexican and Latin America products. the butchery is huge great variety of cuts and meats. The tacos are so delicious and tasty.
google avatar

Tarrah V.

Yelp
We Love absolutely EVERYTHING- except the service at the front. The girls at the check out lanes are exceptionally rude, and unprofessional. That's what you're going to remember about the place because it's the last interaction you have at the store before you leave- that's what I was taught & it's stuck with me. Love the guys at the meat counter- Always singing & laughing! And if we're on the run we love stopping by for tacos de lengua y sopas!
google avatar

Heather N.

Yelp
Amaaaazing selecti n of fresh well presented meats. Better produce than I've ever seen even at Fred Meyer. Friendly staff and excellent food to order hot!!

Noim N.

Yelp
This is very good store. You can purchase grocery and also can get food from here. All the grocery items are fresh and cost effective. Foods are also good. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

PJ S.

Yelp
i absolutely love coming here. their marinated pork adobada is one of my faves to pick up to throw on the grill. their chicken is delicious as well. i also got some of their salsa roja. and that was just from the deli! i also got a bunch of their super fresh and cheap produce, like cilantro, apples, oranges, mango, red & green onion, and tomatoes. i also had to grab a snack at the taqueria: their corn on the cob smothered with mayo & cotija is sooooo good. their carnitas are hands down the best ive tasted in oregon! they have an awesome salsa bar too. the super tacos are SUPER BIG, and so are their burritos. worth the drive from tigard.
google avatar

Clint F.

Yelp
Only place I've gotten a good barbacoa. Every other place is dry this place is delicious. Horchata is sweet but great. Very little English here however. I always feel like I'm inconveniencing them. Super cheap too!
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
When. We go here my 3year old tell her daddy she went to Mexico ! Lol In all reality this is the cleanest Mexican stores in the area. Their meats are great if you know what to look for. The pre-seasoned meats are yummy! Their "deli" always has fresh stuff in it, I've had the salsas, the cheeses, the yogurt, the ceviche and cueritos too and it's all pretty dang good for not being homemade. They have a huge variety of everything! The carnitas and chicharron are great as well! They also have a restaurant in the store that's more than decent too! Their prices are fair for that side too. Their aguas(homemade fruit juices) are great! However the horchata is a hit and miss sometimes it's great while others it's a tad chalky. This is definetly your one stop shop kind of store which is a HUGE plus for me!

Yelp
I had this grandiose plan to visit Supermercados Mexico multiple times and fine-tune my initial review which was to be based on multiple impressions. Fuck it. Ain't nobody got time for that shit. All I can say is that this particular business has done a better job of exceeding my expectations than perhaps any other business I've patronized. Now, it's definitely the case that I was not expecting really much of anything before I went here. It's in a little strip mall that is wholly unassuming. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the following things: The cleanliness. The friendliness of the staff. The organization. But most importantly: The meat. The meat! UN-believable. I found myself on the brink of hyperventilation upon gazing at the meat counter. It comprises the ENTIRE western wall of the store. From one end to the other, they've got every kind of butchered animal you could imagine. IF you wanted to fashion a meat outfit a'la Lady Gaga, THIS would be the best source you could consider. Look, if you're not familiar with Mexican supermarkets, take a Mexican friend, trust me. There are cuts, styles and preparations available here that I was 100% unfamiliar with. I didn't make it past the meat counter, the taqueria or the salsa bar next to said taqueria. Taqueria review: not bad. The carne asada tacos were alright. I should have gone with my friend's carnitas; they looked delicious. It should be obvious now that I'm not gonna let these average tacos deter my review. The salsa bar is spectacular. Sublime, even. They've got this mildly hot avocado salsa that is similar to Ochoa's restaurant right across the street, and that's a good thing, because I LOVE that shit. My plan is to stop by on Friday for a couple skirt steaks which are already marinated carne asada style along with pico de gallo and some tortillas. I'm gonna slap 'em on the Traeger, sear them, chop them up and devour some tacos. Cannot wait.

Yelp
Everyone should make this a regular stop on the way back home to Washington. We will not find anything like this in Southwest Washington.

Yelp
Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit. This place is absolutely *amazing*. I stopped into their parking lot looking for a coffee (The Human Bean), and was immediately drawn to their giant sign advertising, among other things, a Supermercados, Carniceria, Taqueria, Panaderia and other things I am sure I am forgetting. The place is pretty freaking huge, so I knew I had to try it. I walk in and my first impression is right - this is pretty damn big. I've been to a number of mercados before and they have usually been in a location like a strip mall and in the style of more like a convenience store than a supermarket/grocery store. This is a supermarket (hence the *super*mercados, get it?)/grocery store. Did I mention it is awesome? First thing you notice upon entering the north entrance (there is also one on the east side of the building) is the amazing carniceria immediately to your right. Rows upon rows of beautiful meat. Dozens of cuts, types of meat and seafoods - really amazing. Then they have big (giant) blocks of cheese from which they will cut smaller chunks for you. They have a deli section: fried whole fishes, entire sections of cooked pork ribs, whole roasted chickens, rice and beans and then the two things I brought home for Mrs. K. - birria de chivo (a goat stew) and babacoa de res (the (apparently) original bbq). All of it looked amazing. Then they have a taqueria in the back (southeast) corner of the store. It's like the best taco truck you've ever been to with a selection of options about two or three times as great as what you have available at the taco truck (I love taco trucks, btw, so this is high praise). I got the super nachos (I know, I know - total gringo), which include chips, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, beans and pickled vegetables. Goddam that was good - probably the best I've bought from a store. And for $5.99 (it *may* have been $6.99), you get an absolute shit-ton of food. And I haven't even mentioned the produce or bulk items. A great variety of both. The produce is beautiful and well-priced. The bulk items include rice, beans, dried chilis (I got both anchos and pasillas), etc. Finally the capper - what raises this easily to a five yelp stars business: the service is top notch, off the hook amazing. Within the first five minutes of my arrival, three different employees had asked me if I needed any help or had any questions. Not in a hovery, in your face, salesperson sort of way, but just in an interested just wanting to help sort of way. This place is absolutely awesome. I plan on going here regularly and often and would recommend any and all of you to do so as well, first chance you get.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is everything you walk in hoping for and more. We got the masa and hojas for our Christmas tamales here ($30 for 25lbs) and it tasted great. The store is bright, the counters have all manner of foodies to partake in, the produce section looked crazy awesome, and the taqueria counter made us some carne asada tacos that really delivered while we watited for our fresh-mixed masa; tons of meat (seriously, tons) and savory cilantro and onions, with a chile bar that had about a dozen different mezclas to choose from, all delicious. mmm. The people working there were all super nice too! One hundred million times yes, worth the trip. We will most definitely be back, we still need to try out the carniceria, the panaderia, the mercado itself, I need to get my mouf on some of those lovely chile rellenos....

Yelp
Go to the meat counter..NOT the deli counter where you can order meals,taco,ect...ask to try the carnitas. whatch as they rip off a chuck of beautiful ,pefectly cooked pork. Its smells good ,looks good and tastes even better! now decide how many lbs. can i eat today ,then buy more cause your going to over eat. buy your tortillas, salsa, and anything else you might ever want to put on a tortilla in their well stocked and nicely cleaned store. one of the best and most diversified meat counters in area. PAN! lots of it. awesomoe deli counter for all your eat now cravings. try all the meat i haven't had a bad one yet. augua fresca! fresh made salsas! if you a dialysis/diabeitc patient like me stay away from ALL the cooked meat and use their fresh meat counter for all it's worth. they have cuts of meat that you can REALY USE EASY. BElive meG O here for great frsh cuts of anything..if tyou don't see it ask. they thin slice a lot of everything so if your cooking for one or want to just get it over with these cuts are awesome. very kind and friendly staff..i always take my daughter who speaks spanish which can really help sometimes but everyone there has been very helpful to try to find me the things i want. if you live in hillsboro i'm actually jelous because of this store. yeah..i'm a fan.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Came in to get dinner spent 24.00 for 3 meals. I asked for 6 lids so I could have 2 little salsa cups per meal she said no you can only have 4! Then she proceeds to talk about me in Spanish they barely speak any english and are very rude! I used to love this market but now I will never return. They forgot to give me my chips then I asked for them and they made me wait like I was an inconvenience.

Yelp
This place is like visiting Mexico. Excellent service and the place to find authentic Mexican food. Great for shopping or eating right there. No need to go to the airport; This is a little of Mexico in Hillsboro. I enjoyed it

Yelp
This place has the best pastries I have ever had in my entire life. It's kind of became an obsession of mine to go get a pastry on my lunch break.

My mission....find a place that I can buy Sidral Mundet Green Apple Soda that I am now hooked on thanks to Casa Del Sol in Seaside. Tastes just like green apple Jolly Rancher candy!!! Asked my mates that live in Hillsboro if they know of a decent Mexican Market and am taken here. (Cue Angelic Choirs with a hint of banda and mariachi music!!) BOOM!! Walk in the front door and they not only have it, but have it in BIG bottles for a cheap price!!! Damn, I love this place already. Now I am bopping around to the cool tunage they have playing and seeing all of these great deals on things I can't find on the coast. Great cuts of meat for good prices. Spices, cool produce, tacos freshly made to eat while I shop, those cool ice cream bars with the gum in them, cups of flan for 2 bucks...big cups!!! Eff Diabetes!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I LOVE THIS PLACE! Cases of panderia goods as well....so fresh and so cheap!! I love Mexican pastries because they are not sicky sweet like most baked goods. Clean, well organized, well stocked, decently priced, with very friendly employees that speak English readily and even put up with my Irish - Spanish!! Cute lasses that not only know of my favourite Mexican restaurant in Southern California, but have been there many times and understand my food porn memories of there. This is not a place for the shy nor the dieting. Supermercados Mexico is now on my list of places to hit as I shop in Hillsboro. Going to do a full meal at the cafe there next time!!! Gracias!!!! Look for the lad in the kilt eating a taco, flan and with copious amounts of green apple soda in the cart and say HOLA!!!

Yelp
Good, authentic and relatively clean and well organized. They have all kinds of regional products from different places in Mexico. Had a few tacos too... really good, So far best Al pastor I've had in the PNW. Wasn't a fan of Banda music blasting through the speakers... but that's me.. I don't think they had lengua... but I envision myself becoming a regular of this tiny market. Can't wait to try everything else they have on the menu... Chilaquiles... tamales, etc, etc. parking kinda sucks if you park out front instead of parallel to 10th ave.

Yelp
Wow - what a market! Amazing selection of products, and super amazing meat counter. Nicest people, great food to eat in or to go. Goat tacos! Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
If you want we'll authentic Mexican food this is the place. It is a supermarket, but it also has a meat counter, produce and then in house eatery. The food is great and you cannot beat the price. I was saying some respects or even better than Ochoa's across the street... The differences here you don't have a restaurant ambience.... I love their tacos and they have a great hot sauce bar...

Yelp
The best burrito you never got because you don't speak Spanish. Frowny face!

Yelp
I like the food, very tasty but the place is dirty. They can use a little help on the cleaning department.

Yelp
Ive been to this market a few times since it opened when Im in the area. This past weekend, after eating at El Inka in Gresham, I was in the hunt for aji amarillo so I trekked down to the store. I did find the aji amarillo paste and found some rocoto paste too. Yes my attempt to make that creamy yellow pepper sauce was a success. But thankfully I was tempted by other items on display! Huge selection of meats -- different cuts, marinated and not. Only an Asian superstore would rival. I have not cooked what I brought home yet but looking forward to oxtails, pastor meat, marinated whole chicken for roasting. Great selection of crema, queso, and salsa. Picked up queso fresco which is essential to creamy yellow pepper sauce. And crema mexicana and two kinds of salsa. Now on to the star attraction -- cooked meats. The best carnitas -- of varying cuts and parts that you can mix and match. The best ever whole roasted chicken -- what do they rub it with and marinade in?! And the bite size chicharonnes -- it is a better value and more succulent than the side pork belly cut! I didnt get other items at this shopping trip but will for sure put Supermercados in my roster. PS: Do try their roasted chicken -- puts Costco and other supermarket chicken offerings to shame.
