I love a good donut, and Super Nice has a good donut. They also have biscuits, croissants, and egg sandwiches; but I've stuck to what they're known for. The donuts are light, fluffy and soft and always taste fresh. My favorite has probably been the maple pecan, but I've yet to try a flavor I didn't enjoy. They always have yeast donuts, but I've never seen a cake donut in stock. I get it, the yeast donuts are good, but there really isn't as much variety as it seems. I'm pretty sure the yeast donut base is identical across all of the flavors - they just have different options for glazes. Bringing back cake donuts more consistently would be nice to actually have a variety in donuts themselves - not just in glazes. The flavors also don't rotate that often, so I only stop by once in a while even though it's so close by to me.
I always appreciate a vegan option, but having had the regular and vegan variety - the vegan dough unfortunately isn't as soft/doughy as the regular donuts. Good donut still, just not AS good. Small gripe about the coffee: in 2024 I we could move past up-charging for non-dairy milk -- how do your vegan donuts cost the same as the regular but not your vegan coffee?
It's just a window off 108th street, so easy to miss if you're not paying attention. I've found the service to be fine, no one is bending over backwards to cater to me, but it's a no frills place so I'm good with that. Good doughnuts if you're in the neighborhood, but most neighborhoods in NY have something comparable, so I wouldn't necessarily travel just to try these.
