My second time visiting the shop and I absolutely loved it ! Every single time I went, we were greeted with such amazing staff who truly love their job and go out of their way to make you felt valued and appreciated. On top of this, the chicken cutlet sandwich is to die for. If you’re contemplating on going, PLEASE RUSH OVER THERE. I’m wishing you guys all the best with your business, you’ll do amazing things as you have already !!!

Second time coming to this location, sandwiches are delicious. Definitely recommend anyone to try this place at least once.

Best chicken cutlet sandwich I've had! The chicken is super fresh and crispy, not too oily. And the prosciutto is a great touch on the Italian. Super size is 5"X5" bread, but two cutlets, so it's very large. Great deal for a lot of food.

Nice sandwich shop that I found for the first time. I have driven by it hundreds of times where it is up in a strip mall. Looks like they specialize in Chicken Parm sandwiches of which there were many. I tried the Roast Beef, the bread was great the roast beef delicious but the cheese was one paper thin sliver. Do your fans a favor and put some cheese on it. We will stop by with the family and try it again.

Ordered the Greek salad with chicken cutlet through Uber Eats as I often do and found some sort of dead bug. Absolutely disgusting as I had already eaten half of the salad.

Conveniently located near highway on-ramps, generous portions and quick service, Super Sandwich is a very safe bet if you like the same attention paid to the bread as the ingredients of the sandwich. This sandwich shop reminds me of an Italian deli with updated offerings and enough twists to make their offering unique. There's not much like Super Sandwich in Connecticut which is why they are worthy of your time and money. The ciabatta is excellent, portions are easy to understand (they measure their bread by the inch "square") so you have a very good idea of what you're getting yourself into. The 5"x5" super was enough for two meals (your mileage may vary) for me. I don't believe you will walk away dissatisfied with the offerings for the price.

We ordered super sandwiches from here & we loved them. I enjoyed a chicken cutlet sandwich. it contained Italian vegetables & Italian ham. What a great sandwich that was! try it.

Always grab a few sandwiches when my brother visits, the sandwiches are delicious and thick. I typically order online and never had an issue.

The neon sign outside says "Best Sandwich in Shelton" and I have to say that I agree! I got the Chicken and Eggplant Cutlet and it was incredible. The chicken and eggplant are crispy, juicy, and so flavorful. The ingredients are fresh and every sandwich is made to order. They have a pretty large menu with an assortment of sandwiches, but if a certain combination on the menu does not fancy you, they allow you to customize your own sandwich or salad. They have varying bread sizes as well depending on your hunger level. There is no indoor or outdoor seating - it is a grab and go establishment. The service is great and the staff is so friendly. Orders are made extremely quick - I waited about 5 minutes for my sandwich during lunchtime.

I am a creature of habit; I always order the South of the Border salad with grilled chicken and avocado and I have to say Super sandwich is also a creature of habit--consistently not making it incorrectly. The description for this salad is: Romaine, Black Beans, Corn, Hot Cherry Peppers, Tortilla Chips, Salsa. ( the Chicken and avocado are extra) Today, it was missing the hot peppers, corn, black beans, and tortilla chips so it was just lettuce with seasoned chicken and a few slices of avocado. A few weeks ago, it was missing the tortilla chips and the previous time from there it was not missing anything. Lesson to people who order their food from this location, please check your food before leaving, I guess it's a new habit that I will have to start doing be because when they make my salad correctly it is delicious.

They used to put layers of chicken cutlets and eggplant on their sandwiches. I ordered their largest sandwich and it only had one layer of chicken cutlets and eggplant. Very disappointed that I paid all that money for a skinny sandwich. Me, my coworkers, and friends will not be going back anytime soon and I will be telling everyone how they have gone down hill. Also, my coworker said his coworker said his chicken cutlet was nasty. So sad, I used to enjoy this place. Go across the street to Gaetano's for a quality sandwich.

If Subway was actually good it would be this place! Only this place is what Subway is only in its wildest dreams! Sandwiches are insanely good! Fresh, original, unusual, extremely tasty and satisfying! Four stars for taste quality and a fifth star for VALUE! Go here! You won't be disappointed!!!

Unassuming place with awesome sandwiches! We have been twice in the last week. When you walk in the door and look up at the menu it is overwhelming to say the least but easy enough to figure out after a quick read - lots of interesting sounding sandwich suggestions plus easy steps on how to order/build your own. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. The place itself was clean and low key - much more of a place your order and go place. As for the food - awesome. We have ordered salads and sandwiches and absolutely loved everything we have tried. My personal favorite is the chicken and eggplant sandwich - hands down the best I have tasted. Fair wanting look at the various sandwich size - the skinny is like a normal grinder. The large (I think I have the name right) is a huge 5" (maybe 6) square roll and the sandwich is HUGE!

Add the super duper size back. Charge more for it I don't care. That would make me happier

Thank you, Yelp for pointing me to a yummy sandwich shop. I walk in- the shop is clean and employees immediately greet me. I intended to order a salad. But the menu!!!! Holy smokes. So many yummy sammies! The cashier told me, proudly, the Italian chicken cutlet sandwich was the most popular and for a good reason!! I ordered grilled chicken. The roasted tomatoes were so good and the mozzarella cheese were so good together. The bread was delicious and not too thick! I enjoyed every bite on the picnic tables outside. I would highly recommend stopping here!

Had a lunch for an office using this location, great service and amazing sandwiches. A bit pricy, but amazing food and was ready right on time! Highly recommend this even for catering!

Wow! This sandwich place really is super! Excellent! Service was nice and very fast. Sandwiches are excellent! The bread is really good! The sandwiches are so moist, the ingredients looks like they're the best quality. This is their only location, there should be more! I had their eggplant Caprese, which has warm eggplant cutlets, balsamic Vinaigrette, Baby Arugula, Fresh Tomatoes, and fresh Mozzarella. It was so good, so moist. I also had the Italian Vegetariano with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, EVOO, garlic salt and what impressed me the most - broccoli rabe. In my experience, it's not so easy to get really good broccoli rabe. I also got a side of their pesto, which doesn't have any nuts in it. You can choose your sandwich size. The white ciabatta is so fresh and soft. There was also wheat multi-grain and snowflake, which is supposed to be really soft bread. They have their classic sandwiches or you can get it custom made. There's also salads. Highly recommend this place!

Customer service is horrible, was a frequent customer, stopped because again the customer service is HORRIBLE. Guessing from how many new faces are constantly there employees must drop like flies, decided to give it a try again and was still disappointed. Walk in everyone just sitting on their cellphones (some with gloves on and then touching the food) one girl was even watching Netflix. Saw some of em eating bacon and tomatoes and cucumbers which is fine but not while helping customers (common sense). Had a lady bring me my sandwich in a crop top and jeans but I wasn't complaining. Another time I placed an order via phone and the lady was rushing me off the phone. No surprise that order was wrong I called and the owner did rectify the problem but obviously nothing has changed here. Bread was very hard and had little black specks on the bottom piece. Chicken cutlet was cold and the breading was falling off. The cherry peppers had so many stems it made the entire sandwich distasteful. They might as well hand you the sandwich in your hand because the wrapping was excessive and messy. Definitely gotta catch this place on a good day, there's a deli across the road named Gaetano's my job started ordering from there for anyone else looking for a good deli, the menu is pretty similar which I'm guessing is also not a coincidence, prices are a lot better too. Admit it, you've had one hundreds of times. Some were probably good, right? A few were probably bad, right? But honestly .. how many have you had that were GREAT? How many have you had that were perfect in every way? If you have ever been to SuperSandwich, you know the answer to that question. They offer eleven different sandwiches made with chicken cutlets, And the one I had yesterday was definitely the best Chicken cutlet I ever had. Lots of people agree, because Their Chicken Cutlet Italiano was voted as Connecticut's Best Sandwich in a USA Today poll. What makes their cutlet so amazing? They're made on site every day. They were thin and grease free. They were super moist and juicy without a hint of the shreddy, dried out toughness you find much too often. Yes, they were perfect. I ordered their Rockin' Roll Rabe version with one of their Fresh Chicken Cutlets served with Garlic Salt, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Broccoli Rabe, and Sharp Provolone . Sandwiches come in a multitude of sizes - Single Mini for $3.24, a Skinny (kind of like a flatbread) $7.49, Super for $10.33, Super Duper for $14.99, and a breadless version for $10.33. My Sandwich on a Skinny was amazing. The chicken was great, and I liked that it was served warm, like it just came out of the kitchen. The combination of the broccoli rabe, melted cheese, cutlet and a great tasting flatbread made for a grand slam winning sandwich. If you're not a chicken fan, you can also order four kinds of eggplant cutlet sandwiches, three vegetarian choices, and seven classic cold sandwiches like Italian, roast beef, tuna and chicken salad. Want a salad? They have eight of them or you can design your own. They are just minutes off of Route 8, and make for a tremendous meal choice along your way up or downstate.

Finally stopped by Super Sandwich for lunch. I ordered the chicken cutlet Italiano. The thing you need to keep in mind about my review is that everything in this sandwich is fresh, which, of course, is the most important thing. Starting with the bread (crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside), and the hot chicken cutlets that were not sitting around all day: Those two ingredients alone are worth the visit, but then add the fresh mozz, peppers, and arugula, and the sandwich comes together beautifully. Very much worth visiting and there's plenty of seating outside. I'll be back to try something else.

Such delicious sandwiches! My boyfriend and I placed an online order earlier in the day and picked it up in the evening. He had a Super of their Chicken Cutlet Italiano and a Skinny of their Hearty Roast Beef. He loved both! I had their vegan option, the Grilled Portobello sandwich. It was so good! It had portobello mushrooms, tomato, roasted red peppers, basil, balsamic vinaigrette, and lettuce. Very fresh and delicious. I really liked how juicy the mushrooms were. The sandwich bread was fresh and flavorful. We'll definitely be back!

Quick, easy lunch place! I have had their chicken Italiano in the past and although it was delicious, I really like their salads. The Cobb is my favorite. It's pretty loaded and the homemade balsamic dressing is very good. Definitely call ahead or order online. They are usually pretty quick but definitely busy around lunch!

First off I must say I love this place the sandwiches, or the salads are the best. Today I was in here picking up sandwiches for dinner. I always come after I go to S Salon and get a haircut. The girl at the counter was not very friendly, which surprised me because I've never ever have had anything but someone who's been friendly and what have you. Maybe she was having one of those days because we all have them, this would not stop me going there again.

Ordered a Caesar salad & Cobb salad. Both were below average. The chicken was over cooked. Hard and bland The croutons were stale. Complete waste of $$

Still the very best place to get chicken cutlet sandwiches, probably in the world. Excellent value for the money, absolutely cannot go wrong with any sandwich you choose from their regular menu, and their specials are extensive as well. Coming here truly ruined all other sandwiches for me, please franchise I'm begging you!!

I think it's a new owner, since a few years now. Not the same quality as the old super sandwich, a little pricey but that's everywhere in this area now.

Was in the area, so looked up decent joints in the area. Super Sandwich lives up to its reviews. Was not sure what to expect, but we had a great lunch. The service was fast, efficient, and friendly. They have a great selection of sandwich choices, and the ingredients were all top notch, as well as fresh. I got the Italiano and my son ordered the cutlet with pesto.The prices were a little on the higher side, but worth it. You can often judge a place by the quality of its chicken cutlets. The cutlets here are nicely cooked, with a dark golden brown crust. The rolls were equally delicious, and combined with the fresh ingredients, the sandwiches were great. We waited outside a very short while, and someone brought out our sandwiches in no time at all. We will be back.

I ordered Delivery. I chose the make your own Veggie sandwich. It was amazing. I kinda wanted a salad but didn't want to have to fuss with a fork and salad dressing situation since I am out of town and staying in a hotel. It was sooooo good. I had mushrooms, mozzarella, eggplant, provolone, sun dried tomatoes, basil, arugula, pickles, onions, avocado, garlic salt, pepper, oregano, pesto, olive oil and hot sauce (you're welcome lol). I got the largest size sandwich. It was massive, definitely two meals. If you are a hungry vegetarian or vegan in the area. This the place!

The Super chicken parm. I was not expecting it to be this but though. It was good but the paper it came in was a little soggy and I'm sure I ate some of it.

Used to be one of our favorite places. Slowly becoming somewhere we will never order from again. Every interaction we've been having lately is terrible. Their staff is rude and unable to problem solve. Not sure what happened but I can't believe the way they answer the phone and speak to people is acceptable.

So after a short rest from SuperSandwich I've return to find they seem to correct some of their issues. Glad to say the Southwest Salad with avocado is looking and tasting fresh. Wish they would remove stems from the hot cherry peppers but that seems the norm at a lot of restaurants. Idk why but mb ppl like the stems, yuck. SuperSandwich kudos to u and fixing your issues. Keep up the good work and u will have repeat customers for moons to come.

Both of us had the chicken parmigiana. The sandwiches were great. Everything was fresh and delicious. Will stop in again when I am down that way at lunch time.

Been going to SuperSandwich for as long as Iv been able to drive. Iv had everything on the menu. Can't wait for New Haven to open. St Patrick's day corn beef sandwich was awesome!!!

SuperSandwich is the best!! The chicken is always cut thin and never chewy. The eggplant is also cut thin. My only wish is that they had a location closer to Greenwich.

I was first introduced to SuperSandwich by my vascular surgeon's office. They explained they would be ordering lunch for me to have once I woke up from my procedure then gave me a few options; I chose the chicken salad. It came on wonderfully fresh, three by three inch ciabatta roll. The chicken, celery and red onion were all chopped up very small and with the Mayo seemed to be lemon juice and black pepper. It was delicious and not because I hadn't eaten since the day before, it really was good. So, during the height of the pandemic we ordered from SS sometimes multiple times per week. My son loved the chicken parm and although I usually stuck with the chicken salad, I did try a few others and they were all fresh and well balanced. Great job, SuperSandwich!!

This place has horrible customer service. You are greated by a girl who clearly dosent like her job at the counter. Nobody acknowledges people as they walked in. Food is not that great. Avoid if possible.

Fast and yummy. No complaints. Sometimes I get the single mini which is the perfect size for me (about palm sized). Quality deli cuts and really good chicken cutlet sandwiches.

A-OK option! Solid and tasty sammy. A little dry since the pesto wasn't given generously. Could use a better balance with the condiments (tons of the less expensive arugula and had to hunt for the broccoli rabe). But really good chicken cutlet, nice bread, fast service, and would consider ordering again!

Not on the level of Nardelli's or a DiBellas, but close. Sandwiches start in sizes about the size of a dinner roll ($2.99) up to super sized, 6X6 rolls. They definitely don't skimp on the portion. An average meal ordered on an empty stomach will set you back about twelve bucks. The Deep River chips are a nice change-of-pace offering from the typical (boring) Frito Lay offerings you'd see at most other places. They are reminiscent of "Charles' Chips" from a generation gone by; deep crispy crunch and they come in nine different flavors. FYI: They do not offer combos on chips & drinks add ons.

This place is a real gem! I have eaten the salads from here and the sandwiches. The eggplant is done perfectly. The eggplant parm sandwich and the portobello mushroom, broccoli rabe and mozzarella sandwich are so delicious. I create my own sandwiches alot also. The veggies are fresh and top quality and the bread is fresh and baked just right. I've had "the skinny" and the ciabattas. I dare to say that the heroes from Little Italy, The Bronx don't have anything on these sandwiches.

We tried this place out earlier this week after searching through yelp for a new place. My husband ordered an Italian sandwich with chicken & I made my own with pepperoni and various toppings. We LOVED everything. We both thought the sandwiches were incredibly fresh & flavorful- and super filling! We both got the super size & we could have easily shared it- it was like more than a 6 inch worth of sandwhich. The inside seemed clean-crowded, basic for a small place. It definitely is more of a place to get take-out, rather than eat in. We're looking forward to going back!

The name of this restaurant says it all. Because these sandwiches really are super. They have a fantastic menu here with all kinds of delicious combinations. They are also willing to make it your way. You can make any kind of changes or substitute you want to their sandwiches. My favorite is the chicken and eggplant cutlet absolutely delicious. I get the super size.Half a sandwich for me can be enough, but it's so good I end up eating the whole thing. The eggplant is so good.

Used to come here often, not so much any more. The food quality has dropped significantly. I responded to their St Patrick's Corn Beef Sandwich offer and was thoroughly disappointed. The corn beef was cut WAY too thick and was not easily chewed. It wasn't terrible, but it was not what a real deli (maybe like Katz's in New Haven) would have served. The person who assembled it needs to learn how to make a deli sandwich. Meat was just folded in half a piled up. The little bit of sauerkraut that came on it was in two small piles, not spread out al all. The sandwich was $18.00. Very expensive when you consider whole experience. Will not be returning as this, to me, is indicative what I might get next time.

The chicken cutlet Italiano gets me every time. It is one of the best, and I've had some great ones from Arthur Avenue to Florence. These sandwiches are top notch. The online ordering is also a great option. I go out of my way to get a sandwich here.

The chicken cutlet is very good. Probably one of the best chicken cutlets that I've had from a takeout place. The eggplant is also really good, I love that it's really thin. However, I don't know what they've done with the bread but it makes the sandwich nasty. The first time I ordered from here, the bread was very good. The "original recipe ciabatta rolls" were just as described on their menu "moist on the inside surrounded with a tasty crust." Since then, the bread has been terrible. It is in no way, shape or form a ciabatta roll and looks NOTHING like the bread pictured on the menu. If you've ever had ciabatta bread, you know it's supposed to be baked with a hard, crispy, crunchy crust. The bread that they have been using recently is NOT ciabatta bread. The bottom of the bread has the flour like a ciabatta roll but the bread is ridiculously soft and makes the sandwich soggy and gross. If they go back to the original style true ciabatta rolls then I would definitely continue to order from them but last 3 times have been more than disappointing.

Wow how is it possible that I have not reviewed this place? Every so often I get a craving for their amazingly addictive sandwich. My husband and I usually share one extra large eggplant and chicken cutlet. Even at half sandwich each, we are stuffed. The chicken cutlet is crispy on the edges, soft and usually juicy in the middle. There are three-four chicken cutlets for each sandwich so it's very filling. The eggplants provide a softer texture as well as the fresh mozz. The salad with balsamic vinegar adds a nice zing to the sandwich. I usually call in my order for the pickup to save a couple of minutes. They move pretty quickly.

SuperSandwich remains my (and my family's) favorite place for top-quality sandwiches and salads. Their chicken cutlets can't even rival my Italian grandmother's. My favorite sandwich is the Chicken Cutlet Italiano - juicy chicken cutlets topped with imported Italian prosciutto and creamy mozzarella and placed on ciabatta bread that is delivered daily from the Bronx. The salads are always fresh and their homemade salad dressings are delicious. Lickity split service - you don't wait long for your order -- and their catering operation is extremely professional. I've catered football parties, showers, and birthdays with their food and have always been delighted.

How many times I drove by this place while wondering where to get a sandwich?! Well I'm glad I found it this time. This place knows how to make a chicken sandwich! They have a nice menu with lots of options and sandwich size options as well. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with grilled instead of fried, and let me tell you...they don't short you on the meat!
