The short version: A cut may be tolerable, but you should avoid color at all costs!
The long version:
My top two choices at Rock Paper in Echo Park were out of town and I couldn't wait any longer for highlights and cut so I risked it at Supercuts. Oh my. The first set of photos you see are the original highlights. Streaky, brassy, nightmare. I didn't take a photo after my second visit, at which I paid another $30 to try to tone out the mess. That toning was ineffective. So I had to schedule a third visit, at which my head turned to the clown orange you see in the second set of photos. The manager's "solution" was me going back in another 3 weeks (my hair can't handle any more processing until then) and pay another $200 because they think they can fix it. I will also have to pay for a conditioning treatment. Um, no. I've already spent $150 pre-tip (not counting the cut) and look awful. Not to mention the time!
I will call Supercuts corporate to ask for a refund and if they can't do that I'll talk to Bank of America about reversing the charge on my card. Pro tip: you have the right to do that if someone doesn't deliver a product or service, and the merchant can actually get fined on top of losing money to the refund.
In the meantime, my company is headed back to the office after months of WFH and I'm meeting my colleagues, as well as important investors, for the first time. I'm so embarrassed I want to hide.
I hate to leave a negative review because I think a lot of Yvonne as a person (wise, kind, and interesting), but she can only do what she can do with Supercuts product (horrible color), Supercuts policies (weird a la carte menu for services so that you could leave with disaster hair if you don't know ahead that you have to ask for and also pay extra for toning), and enough time to care for clients (rather than juggle between clients so that I sit with the second toner long enough for my head to turn orange).
She is the absolute blowdry master so if you live in the neighborhood and you want an inexpensive local blowout with someone who's fun to talk to, go see her.
