A Location of Ford Fry’s Superica Opens February 20 in Dunwoody, Followed by Howell Mill in March | Eater Atlanta

"Opening Monday, February 20 at Ashford Lane as part of a multi-million-dollar revamp of the former Perimeter Place complex in Dunwoody, this Ford Fry Tex-Mex outpost is the chef’s fifth Atlanta-area location (with a sixth slated to open on Howell Mill Road in March). The restaurant seats over 200 across a dining room and a covered patio and will offer a menu similar to other locations, highlighting oft-ordered items such as queso fundido, fried catfish tacos, fajita platters, grilled chile relleno and the hot cakes served during weekend brunch. A breakfast-taco pop-up is scheduled for Saturday, February 11 from 9–11 a.m. Service hours are lunch Monday–Friday 11:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; dinner Monday–Thursday 5:00–10:00 p.m., Friday 5:00–11:00 p.m., Saturday 3:00–11:00 p.m., Sunday 3:00–10:00 p.m.; and weekend brunch 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m." - Beth McKibben

Solid tex-mex, with an elevated flare. Staff is super welcoming. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. The decor is modern with Southwestern details. They provide a variety of salsas and sauces that are very tasty. We enjoy the enchilada verde (with chicken), shrimp diablo tacos, steak arrachera (fajita), and ensalada with chicken. All the proteins have a nice grilled taste. The family style rice and beans are great-- and unlimited! The only reservation we have is that the plate sizes are large and table space is limited. We tend to run out of table space quickly. Parking is free. There is open parking, along with a shaded deck behind the restaurant.

Superica Dunwoody exceeded all expectations on our first visit! Mike and his incredible staff treated us better than family! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and generously portioned, with a true focus and inspiration from Tex-Mex trail riders. Everything down to the rice was spot on. As newcomers to the area, we were touched by the signed welcome card from the team as well as the recommendations for local places to check out. We can’t wait to bring our friends, family, and business partners here for the incredible experience. Thank you guys again for the warm welcome and hospitality!

Always a great meal! I had the Mole and the sauce was rich and decadent, savory with a hint of subtle sweet. So good!! Drinks went down too easy. I love that they serve the rice and beans family style and you can get more if you need!

I have been to several locations. Everything was nice: the atmosphere, the food was tasty. However, the only thing I didn't like was the new menu. It no longer has fajitas on it, and it seems like the Entrées have been shaved down while the prices have increased. I probably will not be returning.

This is the newly opened Superica restaurant in Ashford, I’ll give details below firstly would give for Service and Atmosphere then food. Service- They were short on staff so service was slow, even chips and salsa sauce did not come when asked for a repeat. Atmosphere- Ambiance is really good, they offer indoor as well as outdoor sitting. Food- Ordered 3 dishes. Vegetarian- Had vegetarian enchiladas- It was okay in taste, flavors were missing, not that great. I will not like to have it again. Chicken Tinga Taco- They were good in taste as told by my husband. He tried both soft and hard. Chicken Chalupa - They were also decent in taste, not that flavorful.

Superica was far from superior and average at best. My party of 2 arrived for a late lunch during the week. There were a bunch of empty tables, but that still equated to about a 30 minute wait to be seated. The entire process was slow and it seemed intentional throughout the entire restaurant (like they were trying to pace orders for the kitchen). The complimentary chips and salsas were yummy! We split a Tamale and it wasn’t good by itself but the accompanying Chili Gravy had good flavor and made it edible. For my entree, I had the Tacos Al Carbon (Rico Style). It was borderline bland. The other guest had the Steak Quesadillas (steak was poor quality and impossible to chew). I ordered a Mexican Sprite twice because the server forgot the first time. Upon asking again, he informed that they didn’t have more. We waited and waited for our check while the server held random conversations with the other employees. Overall, it wasn’t the best experience.

The environment here is incredible! The staff are all super friendly and attentive; I immediately felt welcomed. The food was on another level. Not only did the dishes look appetizing and colorful, but they were packed with flavor. It was some of the best food I've had in a while. The interior environment as well was super pretty; it's a beautiful restaurant. It is on the pricier side but definitely worth it.
