SuperNatural Sandwiches Shutters for Good in Miramar - Eater San Diego

"SuperNatural Sandwiches, a long-running sandwich shop known for its 'sea-to-sandwich' signatures like the garlic shrimp-stuffed Siren and the bacon and scallop-filled Neptune, has announced its closure. The last remaining location in Miramar has shut down due to pandemic-related challenges such as rising food costs and labor shortages. The restaurant thanked its customers in a farewell message on Instagram and urged support for local restaurants and small businesses." - Candice Woo

16 Spots for Takeout Sandwiches - Eater San Diego

"Sammies take an Asian-infused seafood spin at this local chain with shops in Miramar and Little Italy. Popular go-to choices include the Aphrodite, a bacon-and-shrimp grilled cheese creation. Non-seafood offerings are good too, like the Minotaur featuring Korean BBQ steak. The Miramar location offers online ordering but call ahead or visit the Little Italy spot to place an order." - Darlene Horn

Some of San Diego’s Best Seafood Sandwiches Head For Orange County - Eater LA

"There’s something special about San Diego’s SuperNatural Sandwiches. The former farmers market start-up grew so popular back in 2014 that they expanded into a storefront in the Miramar area, and now Eater San Diego is reporting that they’ll head up the coast to Orange County next." - Farley Elliott

I asked the cashier what was a number one seller and he told me the siren sandwich, so I ordered that. Every sandwich comes with the shrimp fries, they are good too. The sandwiches presentation was amazing... however it was hard to eat... but I figured it out. Amazing flavors!!

I crave seafood nonstop and I found this place on google & I thought I'd give it a try. I made a big order because I wanted to try a few of the items that people were talking about. The Neptune sandwich was amazing! I was in shock at how simple but flavorful it was. The bread for the sandwiches was nicely toasted and amazing. The chipotle sauce they serve the fries with was so good!! I dipped EVERYTHING in it. The garlic noodles I got for my coworker but she said they tasted delicious. The siren was bomb too, but the Neptune was more flavorful in my opinion! My boss got the phoenix and was a huge fan. He said it was messy but worth it. I'll definitely be back to try new things next time. This place is worth taking a trip to get!

There are no stars that can describe the taste of the Aphrodite sandwich. From my traveling background, this is one of the best tasting sandwiches I've ever had. The location is OK as it is on the main miramar Road, but it has no impact whatsoever to the quality of the food. I paired this with a draft beer from the selection, and I had the pleasure of tasty food of san diego.

I’ve had this place book marked for quite sometime now and I finally got around to trying it out today. I was recommended the Aphrodite sandwich (shrimp + bacon) so I went with that and oh my god it was heavenly. I got it back home and heated up so it melted beautifully on the plate and again in my mouth :D. I also got a shrimp fried rice side which was pretty good too. Not too shabby for 17$. I ate this over two meals but that’s just me! Great little joint and will be back to try the Poseidon.

Update 26-AUG-2023: Since the last time I've been here the place went from serving only lunch, closed down, then reopened. I'm usually in the area for dinner so stopped by again. Food type is the same as before though prices have gone up a bit. Ordered the Kirin (shrimp and chinese sausage banh mi) and Leviathon fries to go. Fries were huge with lots of scallops and shrimp. Sandwich was big and saved half for another meal. Sandwiches still come with shrimp chips. Overall still has great seafood sandwiches. Tasty seafood sandwiches and great service. Usually go for dinner and is rarely busy.

Great spot for unique seafood sandwiches. Their menu has been slowly expanding and there is always something new to try. I normally have the Aphrodite, but tried the Neptune this time. This one has a high bread to protein ratio, reasonable amount of scallops, and does have a good flavor. All sandwiches come with shrimp chips! Staff is always friendly and helpful. This place does get busy, but its worth the wait.

Always love this spot. Brought my daughter for the first time and she was very happy. Got the Griffin on garlic noodles, Aphroditie, and June special pork belly bahn-mi.

Co-worker recommended this place for lunch. Everything looks so good online. Parking was easy even on a Friday at 11:45AM. I ordered the Triton fries and Neptune salad. The fries were crunchy and yummy with all the fixings on top. The sandwich bread was nicely toasted and delicious. Will go back and try other items.
