Best Phoenix Bars for Cocktails, Beer, and Wine - Eater Phoenix

"Owners Jeff and Jen Herbert like to say they’re “reintroducing the world’s oldest fermented beverage to mankind” — not an idle boast, given that in the past 10 years, they’ve created over 300 unique meads and hard ciders in a wide range of flavor profiles. The interior’s wood floors, high, industrial-style ceilings and upholstered aqua bar stools signal that this may be a brewery (honey-imbued mead is beer’s kissing cousin, after all), but it’s a classy one. The mead selection is big enough to require categorization (meads made with apples, meads made with herbs and spices, meads made with wine grapes), and the food menu is just as vast. If you’re road-tripping, check out the meadery’s original location in Prescott." - Nikki Buchanan, Chris Malloy

This is THE place to go for an amazing mead experience. I’ve never seen so many varieties on a menu. We shared the 24 mead flight and still just scratched the surface of the options. It was amazing how much variety there was and how strong the different flavors were. The food was delicious but slightly overpriced for what it is. The desserts were fantastic. I’d recommend visiting for the mead and desserts but get dinner at another great eatery nearby. Keep up the great work on the amazing mead!

Carson was my server, he was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and gave me and my wife wonderful recommendations for food and drinks. He was professional and had a great personality. Now down to the food and drink, we had the Butter Bison board, it was super good just wished there was more meat! Also ordered the fries, honestly some of the best fries we’ve had from a restaurant ever. Check the pics guys. I even bought a bottle of their silver medal winner mead.

Amazing! This is a super cool space, very natural with a live edge bar, wood accents and exposed brick. Very friendly staff who are also informative. The mead is the best of the best. They do have a food but when we got in it was just in time for last call and the kitchen was already closed. It smells amazing though, we will be back to try the fare.

Made a trip to Phoenix while visiting Tucson to see some of the local sights downtown. This place has been on my list to try for awhile and what an amazing place! Meads are usually to sweet for me but they have an amazing variety! The bartender was great and offered options on different selections. The food was delicious. I got the pecan salad and steak sandwich. There was so much flavor in every bite. All the staff were attentive and very welcoming. Anyone you came in contact with said hello. I will absolutely come back to visit this place again!

I've wanted to eat here for months, and it was everything I hoped it'd be! First of all, to access the restaurant: note that it's on a divided street, so you need to drive westbound to access the driveway to the parking lot. Parking is limited, too. Service was spectacular. We shared a mead flight; we had definite favorites (strawberry sunrise and Tahitian honeymoon) but everything was tasty. We then extensively sampled the tapas menu. EVERYTHING was delicious. The cooks here know their stuff! We capped off the meal with a mead-poached pear, which was light, sweet, and oh-so-good.

Atmosphere, decor, and service were great We came for brunch, we were greeted seated immediately. We ordered 3 sets of the mead flight, some were good and other not so much. The food needs a little work. Everything was just okay. We got the baos, which were not nearly as good as you would get it from other places, yet they were more expensive here. We tried to order the burgers, but we were told they were out and not available that day. The 2 tables that came in after us were able to order the burgers (not sure if our waiter had the most updated info).

Probably one of the best spots in town, very pleasant environment with a great menu. My bartender Darian was awesome with serving everyone at the bar area. Great customer service and pleasant to speak with. He was knowledgeable of the meads and full of information to answer my constant, random questions. I had the Bison Tacos, which had blue corn tortillas (very nice touch and awesome) and a tasty, tangy salsa accompaniment. I recommend the Rum Barrel Aged Ho!, the Rye Marion and the BA Amante, all were truly great tasting and nicely done! If you are a Guild or Club member you must try the Piedosas, what a great combo of flavors. I love the creativity with both the mead creations and the food menu unique items. Also if you are near Prescott, AZ they have a smaller location, go find it. Sample as much as you can and grab bottles to go and don’t forget they do have orders online. Awesomeness!

This place has a really great, mellow atmosphere! There really are options for any budget depending on what you want to spend. Lots of nice options whether you want to eat, drink, or both! Our server, Derek, was very attentive with our large group. I was a big fan of the Rum Barrel Aged Coconut Strawberry PBJC and the Early Glow! This place is definitely worth checking out!
