It's kinda funny that Sur La Table and Williams-Sonoma are in the same Mall / Town Center / Whatever, because both stores offer very similar lineups and similar prices, though I found a few things I wanted for a bit less at SLT.
The cooking classes are held in a bit larger area than the central "counter" at W-S, with a dedicated kitchen off the main showroom, but SLT also offers a few more try and sample areas, including their coffee machine bar with nearly every type of brewing you can think of, from the basic french press to a $2500 automatic espresso maker with self contained milk foaming engine.
I did not make that name up. Really.
I really enjoyed grabbing a sample cup of coffee, a little biscotti, and then wandering through the store. Even better, when we picked out a tagine that was sitting on the display shelf to purchase, the saleswoman who checked us out actually scanned it into the register, then went to the back to get us a brand new boxed one rather than the display model!
