Sur Mer

Last night I visited Sur Mer, a restaurant located in the heart of Paris, offering a modern seafood driven menu with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and precise execution. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear the place knows what it’s doing: warm service, an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere, and perfectly timed courses. The dishes throughout the evening were truly delicious! clean, balanced, and consistent with a clear culinary vision. Every detail was felt: from the plating to the exact temperature of each dish. A well-crafted, enjoyable experience from start to finish. The only area that could use improvement is the dessert. The restaurant offers just a single option, with no selection. The dessert felt less impressive compared to the rest of the meal. A restaurant of this caliber deserves a more varied and compelling finale. Bottom line: Sur Mer is an excellent restaurant with wonderful food and professional service, perfect for a quality evening out. If they improve the dessert offering, the experience would be truly complete.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food is exceptional and the service equally impressive. Our waiter was on hand to make recommendations for both the food and the wine to accompany it. Oysters were the best we’ve ever had. We would happily fly from the UK again, just to visit this restaurant!

Still within the spirit of my birthday week - after Seoul, I continued the celebration in Paris. I chose a restaurant I’ve been following for a while, and finally made a solo dinner reservation here. I went for a 4-course menu with dessert and a bottle of wine. Everything was perfect - the service, the flavors, the atmosphere. It truly made my day.

We were so lucky to walk into this amazing place. We sat inside, facing the open kitchen, which made the experience even more special. It was such a pleasure to meet the wonderful owner, Olive. We ordered a few plates to share between the two of us, and every dish was beautifully presented. The flavours were layered and thoughtfully crafted, each bite was delicious. It truly gave us the best kind of dinner journey.

Food is amazing, delicious and imaginative. Nice atmosphere. Would certainly visit again (and have been before).

The food is very good and everything has a special twist. But nothing about these dishes could be shared, the portions are extremely small, similar to a fine dining tasting menu. This means that the total price of a good meal would be very high and it's not what we expected.

Had a great dinner here! Lovely & tasty seafood dishes, served sharing style. Front room seating seemed to be nicer than in the back.

Everything was perfect. I’ve visited a lot of good seafood restaurants in Paris and this is without a doubt the best I’ve had so far. The scallop crudo was perhaps the best crudo I’ve ever had. Cockles were another highlight. Wine selection was great, went for a lovely sparkling rose that was at a very fair price point. The rhubarb cheesecake was a nice finish. Even the bread and espresso were great. To top it off, it’s in a lively neighborhood near the canal but off of a more tranquil street. Perfect experience.
