All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ with diverse meats and sides

"Sura Korean BBQ is one of the only all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue options in Chula Vista. The restaurant comes from partners Liang and Joon Lee, who also operate Common Theory, Of 52 Remedies, and Woomiok in the Convoy District. The move into Chula Vista comes as Liang wanted to open a restaurant in the border town he grew up in. The meat is served buffet-style, complemented by buckets of pho, offer pho, rice paper pancake, pancit, and tortillas, a nod to the melding of cultures in South Bay. Three tiers of proteins range from the classic set that comes with spicy beef belly, LA galbi, a garlic butter small octopus, to the Sura, which includes lobster tail and prime rolled short rib. Pair with a glass from the wide selection of beers on tap, wine, or soju with all-day happy hour prices on weekdays. Take-out bento boxes include meats, like beef bulgogi or spicy pork belly, with rice, fried dumplings, and tofu stew." - Helen I. Hwang

"The owners of Woomiok and Realm of the 52 Remedies are behind this new Korean barbecue restaurant next to the Chula Vista location of their popular gastropub Common Theory. Offering a variation on the all-you-can-eat model, Sura features tiered pricing levels, with the top tier including prime ribeye and New York steak. But the all-access buffet includes a good assortment of meats, including pork bulgogi and spicy chicken, as well as a variety of cooked dishes like Filipino pancit and Korean fried rice." - Candice Woo

"By mid-April I'll be able to visit an all-you-can-eat Sura Korean BBQ that the team will open in an adjacent space." - Candice Woo

"Opening adjacent to Common Theory in the Mix at Millenia, Sura Korean BBQ will be the owners’ take on an all‑you‑can‑eat Korean barbecue experience and will occupy the space next to the new pub." - Candice Woo

"Annandale’s Supreme Barbeque will soon rebrand into a new spot called Sari after a fall Filipino menu collaboration with Dungca proved so popular it’s staying; I learned the rebranded menu will include dishes like pork ribs tocino and smoked chicken insal with acharra and chili-vinegar." - Tierney Plumb
