Surf Bagel Lewes

I don’t normally stop at this location of Surf Bagel in Lewes, but I was pleasantly surprised! The service and food are just as great as at their other locations. They have a large seating area, both inside and outside on the patio, so when the weather is nice in the spring and summer, you can enjoy your breakfast in the fresh air. I love that they also have a variety of branded merchandise for sale. I usually go for the bacon, egg, and cheese on a wheat everything bagel, and it’s always delicious. The staff is super friendly and ensures you’re in and out quickly. Plus, they offer a variety of brewed coffees to complement your meal. Definitely worth a visit!

So bummed- Been going here for years. Loved this place. Wish the old owner was still running it, it was the best in town. Can’t believe I paid 15$ for this shrimp burrito, or lack there of. 😞 it was rough when they got rid of the homemade chips but damn, you can’t ruin the burritos too!

Great vibes here. Coffee sold is from the fresh roasted beans next door. Some of the best bagels I have ever had. Can't speak to the sandwich lunch options they offer. A little pricey but certainly a nice treat every now and again.

Best bagels in town! Their bagels sandwiches are exceptional (im very partial to putting jalapeño cream cheese on whatever sandwich I get).. also the cream cheese made in house is fantastic. Great people, very friendly customer service pros. ❤️

We went around 10a on a Friday in December. The signage about where to park and where to walk in is confusing. The parking lot is shared and half has asphalt while the back side has pebbles. We initially went to the wrong parking lot and, once inside, walked to the wrong counter because we had an online order. The staff were not friendly or managed properly. Even though we got a text that our food was ready, we waited 10 minutes for staff to get our order. It’s confusing where things are, like napkins and utensils, and staff seemed too overwhelmed to help. Our egg and cheese bagel had barely any egg. Our bagel with lox spread, tomato, and onion had regular cream cheese. We asked them to remake it and got a bagel with lox and too much cold, hard cream cheese. We also ordered the house salad with grilled chicken. The salad had too many purple onions and the chicken was shredded rotisserie meat with chunks of skin and brown meat - not a grilled chicken breast. The home fries were not homemade. We found it odd that there was no aroma of coffee like other bagel places. Still, this place does very well and had a steady stream of customers. There is no other competition for decent enough bagels in the area. We thought maybe management isn’t very good during the off season in December. We will not be back.

Good place for a breakfast sandwich they cater mostly to bagels, but they have other options as well. Coffee is also good. Great location, right off the highway easy access.

Don't get me wrong, I love Surf Bagel, but I need to talk about their hash browns. They're great on a breakfast bagel sandwich, but do not get them in a to-go order as a side. We ordered them on Sunday and they were inedible, sodden, soft, grease sponges. It seems harsh, but the grease not only leaked through the foil, but through the paper SB bag and made a puddle inside of the reusable grocery bag in which I had placed our bag. I'm not exaggerating. Come on, SB! You're better than that! 🙃

We stopped here on our way home from our trip to Lewes. The place was fairly busy. But it seems like they have their service down to a science. It didn't take but a few minutes to get our order. The onion bagels and crean cheese was tasty. The bacon and egg on sesame seed bagel was good too. Definitely a great option if your semi limited on time.

It's Saturday morning around 10 am, I had my first (yes first) Surf Bagel sandwich, with I might say did NOT disappoint!! I joined the loyalty program, and will definitely be back for more. The guys (3) that I dealt with today from ordering, helping join loyalty program and given points after ordering, to pick up; all employees were amazingly friendly and professional. Thank you gentleman for your amazing experience!!

Always a great experience at Surf Bagel! My only wish is that they'd switch to better gluten free bagels like some of the other bagel shops we love. Overall it's always delicious! And great for a quick bite. I don't go as much as I used to because I started making my own GF bagels. But when we're in a pinch I'm happy to stop here!

We get this every time we visit rehoboth ! I usually get the old bay bagel because I can never find it in PA. Services is quick and we're never disappointed with our order. Reasonably priced!

This is a great option for very good bagels near the Five Points intersection in Lewes! My wife and I shared the nova lox and cream cheese bagel (plain). One son had the breakfast burrito, and the other son had a steak and egg bagel (plain). Everyone was pleased with the bagels which had a nice texture overall. Parking can be a bit crazy on Sunday mornings when it's super-busy, so be sure to pack your patience. The interior has limited seating but most folks are here to pickup their "grab-n-go" bagel sandwich orders.

Good food. Sorta rude service at first until someone else stepped up. I'll go back. Probably.

It's Wednesday morning ordered for delivery. A bacon egg and cheese bagel lightly toasted. Was delivered quickly. I'm glad they offered scrambled eggs, I'm visiting from Florida and I never seen scrambled eggs offered as a choice for bagels back home. Food was good.

The quality of the bagels are mediocre at best. Bacon was awful and returned. I'll just drive into OC and order from Uber Bagel, now thats a bagel!!!

Great service, delicious food, friendly employees, reasonable prices. Enjoyed the outdoor seating. Was our first time going to a surf bagel and will continue to come back!

What isn't there to say about surf bagel? This is our first stop on the way into Rehobeth every year. We stop another time and then have breakfast on the way. Out of town! There bagels are perfection! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Whether you toasted or not, it is exactly what you want in a bagel. Let's not forget about the cream cheese. Our favorites are scallion and vegetable. My dad wanted to try something new this year so he got the apple cake which hit the spot. It was full of apple slices and with a sweet treat, he was looking for. The lines may be long, but they are efficient and your order gets called within minutes. With multiple locations, you can hit up a surf bagel when you're in the area! The location in Lewes is lots of fun with tables outside.

We were on our way back home from the beach and wanted a quick bite to eat, when I say this is not a place you want to skip!! From the bright, open spaced welcoming ambiance, to the super friendly service, yummy fresh bagels, crispy yet soft potatoes, and last but not least the breakfast burritos that are stuffed perfectly! 10/10 recommend You won't be disappointed.

Love coming to Surf Bagel anytime we are in town. They have the best bagels and burritos! I usually get the bacon egg and cheese bagel, lox and cream cheese with capers or the beach burrito. The beach burrito has avocado, spinach, egg and cheese. It's a big portion. Sometimes I can save half a bagel for another meal. The kids like the chocolate chip bagel. The inside is decorated with a beachy bagel theme. There are seats and booths inside and also outdoor seating. My husband loves their ice coffee. Will be back again!

Different Cheesesteak'esque sandwich #1193. I got a steak, egg and cheese on everything bagel. November Saturday morning and this place was busy. I liked the surfer decor and names for everything. I read the menu (in my head) in a Keanu Reeve's surfer dude voice. I liked that my sandwich was $8.50. The Chicago dog special looked interesting. I'm curious about the everything bagel roll. My sandwich was good enough. It was a little dry.

I do not understand the reason that Surf Bagel has 'vegan-friendly' in their description when it only applies to creamers for coffee? Usually, many vegans are looking for food that is vegan-friendly and not just a selected item just to say 'vegan friendly'. Very mis-leading label IMO, unless they did not write the description???

I gotta say they were bought out by a local restaurant conglomerate, and opened more stores, the quality went down hill, all bagels are very lightly done, like factory bagels, and the soft center with a nice crunch is GONE, too bad

Stopped in here with my family for a weekend bagel breakfast during the off-season (early November). There was no line but still a plethora of offerings -- bagels, bagel sandwiches, freshly squeezed juices, and other baked goods. It was hard to decide between a sweet or savory bagel, as well as what type of coffee to order (because there were so many options). The bagels we ordered were fresh with the perfect chew. The cream cheese to bagel ratio was spot on. We noticed a bunch of adorable merchandise available for purchase and ample room for seating both indoors and outdoors. The staff here was friendly and worked quickly to put out orders through. Definitely a great place to stop in for a breakfast or lunch sandwich!

First off...if you are looking for your typical NY bagel deli...this is not it. That is why NY is NY and Delaware is Delaware. It's a different culture and environment. If you are expecting a NY deli, it's not Surf's fault. It's yours. You have to accept where you are. You won't find a NY steakhouse in Delaware, either. That said, the bagels here are extremely good and their food is excellent. I do wish they offered omelettes, however. What really makes Surf five stars for me is the staff. They are all incredible--friendly, engaging, welcoming and will always do whatever necessary to make customers happy. You can't (and shouldn't) expect any more from a bagel shop. My family and I think they're terrific.

I absolutely LOVE surf bagel. From the bagel trays to the individual sandwiches you can NOT go wrong. The only bagel spot I'll even think of hitting when I'm lower de.

@Surf Bagel Lewis: The server appeared disengaged while taking my order and did not toast any of my bagels. I was charged $11 for a bagel with lox, without cream cheese and without toasting. None of the bagels seemed freshly baked as advertised.

Love their hangover on French toast bagel. It's a big expensive but the flow is there.. the good vibes are there and when you order. It's right just how you ordered it.

I love Surf Bagel, it's the closest I've come to a bagel since back home. Coffee is always good! I usually get and everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese, very good. They also make excellent pork roll egg and cheese sandwich sandwiches on a roll or the bagel. They also have good merch. Service is always done very quickly.

Surf Bagel was a hit!! The bagels were warm and perfect. The cream cheeses were delish!! Definitely grab bagels here if you're in Rehobeth Beach. And the Malibu Bunny bagel sandwich was FANTASTIC and really enough to share with another person. We will definitely go back next time we're at the beach!

What happened to Surf Bagel's bagels? They are small and hard. They used to be soft on the inside and puffy. Hard on the outside ! They don't freeze well. It's so disappointing. When we moved here 13 years ago, they were almost as good as Jersey bagel. The supermarkets have better ! Sad!

Words cant explain how much I enjoy surf bagel, it's always popping off and for a good reason. The bagels are PHENOMENAL and never fail to put a big smile on my face, thank you surf bagel!

Bottom Line: Solid option for a quick breakfast. Surf Bagel in Lewes is a great stop for a quick breakfast or lunch. My husband and I stopped in to get bagel breakfast sandwiches and coffee on a cold rainy morning and we enjoyed our meal. The bagels were freshly made and our sandwiches were made to order. I had a sausage, egg and cheese on Egg bagel which was hearty and satisfying. We enjoyed our breakfast at one of the booths inside Surf Bagel and we were plenty entertained watching patrons come and go. Most people dashed in to pick up their call ahead orders and others placed an order to go. In addition to bagels, Surf Bagels also offers breakfast burritos, deli sandwiches and smoothies. For a bagel shop and deli, the menu has quite a bit of variety. I look forward to trying more items on my next visit.

My daughter and I visited twice while on vacation to pick up breakfast. They have a nice little patio seating area outside that you can enjoy. They have many employees working to fill ordered quickly and efficiently. My daughter got a chocolate chip bagel with peanut butter and I got the same but with a blueberry bagel. Both toasted. I wait wasn't long and the staff was friendly. Overall, out experience was good and the bagels were tasty.

Surf Bagel used to have great bagels - and while it was always a little hectic getting your order - the actual bagels made it worth it. We order bagels online and when we got home it was not what we paid for and the quality was not the same.

This is one of our most favorite local spots. You definitely have to get there early to get the good stuff, but it is so worth it. Their bagels, sandwiches and coffee are so delicious! If you enjoy a place with good service, beach vibes, and great food this is it.

This place was walking distance to our rental. Ordered online and picked up. Staff was helpful and friendly. Got the egg, bacon, cheese bagel sandwich which was tasty! And also the coffee cake to have with the coffee!

I stopped by the serve bagel in Lewis this morning. I live off of Route 9 so I come in the back way and the back parking lot to get in to serve bagel in. Louis is absolutely horrendous. There are holes all over the place. Please have somebody go out there and fix the holes people are gonna wreck their cars that the holes are so big. I'll probably stop going there cause it's easier for me to go in the back way from nine then go all the way around down to one and making a U-turn so please keep me posted if you can

The French toast bagel is so delicious. The chicken salad is phenomenal. I make sure to stop here every time I'm in the area.

I think this is my favorite bagel of all time... Surf bagel makes the most delicious chewy and soft bagels I've ever had. Also for a bagel shop that has a wide variety of sandwiches and other food items it's super impressive how well they execute all around. Their bagel sandwiches are killer and so reasonable, it's hard to pass up. They're so good I'd recommend getting a dozen and freezing them!

Overall good food definitely stop by for a beach breakfast or lunch treat. Service was ok and the ambiance was busy

(This is for the Long Neck peeps). I love Surf Bagel. They are the only ones able. To make a bagel great. Of salt is the best bagel yet. With a huge spread of cream cheese. Spread for me which does nothing but please. And those breakfast potatoes. They have no foes. I love SB moved to Long Neck, knowing my salt bagel was so far away made me a wreck. Now, just a hop, skip and a jump. No longer a bagel grump. No, I'm a surfing fool. Because Surf Bagels rules.

Great place down the beach! An assortment of Bagels to be had by all! Stopped in on our way home! Bagels were so tasty! Coffee was HOT and flavorful! Has an order ahead option online! Crazy busy in season! Can't wait to order from again on our next visit! I'll snap pictures next time as I was too hungry and just devoured my everything bagel toasted with butter!

Great bagels and sandwiches. Always good. Pretty quick service even for a busy morning. Nice variety of flavored cream cheeses. My granddaughter always wants to go there when she visits

These are seriously good bagels. I got the SLT - house made salmon bacon, tomato, lettuce, avocado . . . on toasted wheat berry bread. I know . . . no bagel? Not on the sandwich. It was hard to eat. The avocado slipped around, the "bacon" fell out, but it was really really tasty. The bacon was a little fishy and salty compared to lox, but it was good. I would definitely order it again. I wasn't impressed with the bread, it didn't have many wheat berries so it was missing the crunch. We got there closer to lunch than breakfast and some of the bagel flavors were sold out. I did get a half dozen including Old Bay, everything, and blueberry. All of the bagels were good. That perfect combination of soft and chewy. Coffee was good. Service was excellent. Prices are steep, but typical of the beach scene.

This place can be a mad house in the morning but it's definitely worth the wait. The bagels are awesome, my personal favorite is the sun dried tomato bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese.

Service was good. Parking lot is spacious. Bagels are great. Sandwiches are good. Coffee is a little weak. Altogether a good place to stop and eat in or take it to go.

I didn't have high hopes, coming from NJ, which of course is the bagel capital of the country, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bagels were very good, the breakfast sandwiches were delicious and the lines move quickly.

Parking lot was absolutely packed got inside very short line (2 lines) people everywhere from the time I ordered to the time I had my food was six minutes unbelievably good so impressed with how efficient they are here. Food is always fantastic. Bravo.

When I was looking for places to eat for our vacation, I happened to see the selection at surf bagel and had to try it. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a French toast bagel and it was TO DIE FOR. I'm traveling with a big group, so we ordered 10 bagels online and they had them all done in just 20 minutes. They have their own door for pickup, so I was in and out in about a minute. Definitely check it out if you're in the area. (I didn't get a picture cause it looked too good and I had to eat it right away)

After an unpleasant experience last Thursday 10/10 I would just like to thank Katie from Surf for reaching out so quickly in response to my post. She was very understanding of the situation and understood the circumstances. Again I thank her for responding and I'll be sure to give Surf Bagel Lewes another shot!

The food was good but just don't get the smoothies. At least in my experience, my friends and I ordered smoothies and got them 10 min later and they were completely melted. Also, the smoothies just don't taste good. they taste like juice. they were also 8 dollars each which was a lot. we threw them out :(

Stopped in for a half dozen bagel. Staff was not too friendly. The bagels were delicious. We opted for jalapeño+ poppy + sesame and one old bay to give it a try. The old bag was definitely different. Our group was split on it- half enjoyed the other half did not. Definitely will return for bagels.

Really great food. So much variety on the menu! Be prepared to wait for a bit as it is very popular. We tried to order online but that option gets turned off when it gets busy (completely understandable) so by the time we got everyone's order put in online, online ordering got shut off. Would definitely recommend!

the bagels don't taste the way the used to, I'm not sure why. drier and not as sweet as a bagel should be. I'm wondering if something has changed n the recipe or preparation.
