We stopped by on our way to Connecticut, I'm glad we did because the food was amazing. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We started with the New England Clam Chowder, and it was delicious. Second, we had the lobster roll, and it was honestly the best part of the meal. Then we had the Lobster Kristina, which was cooked perfectly. It's definitely a place worth stopping and getting a bite to eat.

Eat-in lunch Seating time: 0 min Wait time for first dish: 7 min Nestled by the water, Sushi & Oyster Bar offers not just a feast for the taste buds but also a serene view that complements its exquisite dishes. From the moment we walked in, the friendly servers made us feel welcome, ensuring a pleasant start to our dining experience. The restaurant’s sushi, made with high-end Japanese short-grain rice, was a highlight, offering a perfect balance of texture and flavor. Each piece was a testament to the chef's attention to quality and detail. The variety of raw oysters was another delight, served with four different types to suit any preference, from briny to sweet. The fried calamari was a crispy treat, perfectly cooked with excellent temperature management to preserve its tender juiciness. This attention to detail in serving temperature was consistent across all dishes, enhancing the dining experience significantly. With its great location, excellent food, and warm service, Sushi & Oyster Bar is a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-tier waterfront dining experience. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Jen is amazing! Best server, hands down. We ordered the warm butter lobster sushi roll, calamari with cherry pepper vinaigrette and marinara, and the Korean BBQ scallops. Everything was divine. For drinks, I ordered the smokin' hot and dirty and my fianceé ordered the matcha back. Both drinks were perfect. Definitely worth it.

This place is a must. Dine here if you don't do anything else. It's not cheap, so save up some cash. You have to get the linguine scallop special. It's tremendous, but share it if you must save room for dessert. Try the blueberry crumble. Heavenly. Tell Sage hello!

My husband and I had dinner here before attending a performance at the Music Hall. We enjoyed the freshest scallops and best Fish & Chips since Ireland last summer! The atmosphere was great and Sage, our waitperson was delightful The down time between apps and entree was minimal. Worth every dollar!

The seafood here is good. Great selection of saké. I did come here for sushi, which was good for the area. I call it "American sushi". Would love to see more nigiri choices.

I’ve traveled the world, from 5* restaurants in Paris to truck stop, diners in rural America…which I find to be equal in some places. Surf Portsmouth is without exception or comparison the most consistent 5*! Go to the bar “upstairs”. Mal and the rest of the crew will take care of you. Food, drink and service are excellent with the best view. Family friendly. Cool music, guests and overall atmosphere. You’ll find yourself wanting to return. Often.

Visited for an early dinner on a weekday. Restaurant was fairly empty and we were seated right away. First I’ll start with what was good: 1. The food was delicious and the raw bar deluxe sampler was phenomenal. I would return just to eat this again 2. The drinks were tasty and they had unique cocktail offerings The bad: The service. The service was very disappointing and there was honestly no excuse. Our waitress only had two or three tables yet she couldn’t seem to stop by more than once every 20-25 minutes. She would deliver drinks to the table next to us but would avoid eye contact with us and quickly rush away. We had to holler and interrupt her on her way back to hiding at the bar just to get the check. We only ordered one round of drinks and our entrees but the dinner took almost two hours. I blame this primarily on our service. Also, our food took a considerably long time to arrive. I understand that the food is delicately prepared but the restaurant was mostly empty. Hoping for a better experience next visit
