Surfin Donuts

I order from this place all the time, they would substitute the bread for a donut at no additional cost. Loved that. I last ordered this successfully 3 days ago. 3 days later they are now trying to charge extra for the donut substitution. I called and was told that it is because they were doing this too often, and they would run out of donuts, so now they charge extra for this. Why not just make more donuts? Seems dumb. Lost me as a customer unfortunately.

My husband and I usually order from the other surfin' donuts (on Alicia/Trabuco) since it's closer to us. I made the mistake of putting my online order to this location, and boy was it a mistake. My husband went to go pick up our order and when he got it home, I opened my box up to find moldy bread (see photos). That is a LOT of mold. I don't understand how someone could have taken this piece of bread, toasted it, and not seen that much mold. Clearly upset, I called the restaurant to let them know and to get a refund because my husband and I were not going to eating anything after seeing this. I was told by the girl who answered the phone that the refund has to go through the manager, which is understandable. After agreeing to wait for manager approval, I receive a phone call through door dash. Apparently, the online ordering system goes through door dash so I had to speak with them regarding getting a refund. The man I spoke to through door dash then said he could only issue a refund for the plate and not the whole order since only the breakfast plate I ordered had mold on it. Someone, please make this make sense. If I'm served a slice of moldy bread, God only knows what else is going on behind that kitchen. So the door dash representative told me that I would need to go through the customer service survey to request a full refund. It really should not be this difficult to be refunded after being served spoiled food.

I went in at 1:20 and they told me they were “closing down” for the day? Like are you kidding me it says 2 o clock and i drove 20 minutes, change your online time or get people that dont care and just want to get out of there early

Surfin Donuts in Mission Viejo is my go-to spot for breakfast in the area. The breakfast burritos and omelettes here are simply amazing--some of the best I've ever had. The flavors are incredible, and the salsa and hot sauce they provide are the perfect complement to their dishes. While the donuts are a bit on the pricey side, they're absolutely worth it--fresh, delicious, and always satisfying. However, I primarily come here for the unbeatable breakfast burritos and omelettes. If you're craving breakfast food or donuts, I highly recommend stopping by Surfin Donuts. It's a gem in Mission Viejo, and you won't be disappointed!

MAPLE CAKE DONUT: -- medium brown color on the frosting -- soft texture cake -- not delicate or fragile -- I gave it a 16 second nuke and it brought the oil out and warmed it up to the point you nearly thought it just came out of the oven or fryer -- the oil really traps in the moisture here -- they are moderate with the oil, they use enough to keep the donut moist and avoid dryness but not so much that it is dripping oil -- the ratio of frosting to cake is right on target -- the sweetness is medium -- good medium portion size -- the maple taste is one of the best I have had in maple cake donuts and still my go-to in South County and beyond...it could have a touch more maple POP but it is close to perfect RATING = A PLAIN CAKE DONUT: -- similar oil usage on this donut and it is perfect -- another 16 second nuke job and this becomes GOLDEN and it brought the oil out and warmed it up to the point you nearly thought it just came out of the oven or fryer -- size is medium towards large -- not delicate or fragile -- price is fair for the quality -- soft texture and fluffy -- moist cake -- this is perfection once nuked and warmed up -- this is my go-to when I want a pastry to go with coffee but nothing too sweet...hard to beat this fried dough rendition RATING = A+ CHOCOLATE CAKE: -- not a normal go to for me but this was another gem -- I'm not huge on chocolate donuts but this is consistent with their others RATING = A-

When I ordered a breakfast sandwich, I thought it was expensive but when it arrived, it was huge with tons of sausage. Very tasty. Donuts are always excellent! Coffee is good too. Service was prompt and friendly. Great place!

Cute little donut shop off the 5 freeway in Mission Viejo! We ordered ahead (breakfast burritos) and stopped in to pick them up. We had to try the donuts once we saw how fresh and delicious they looked.

I had been to the Surfin Donuts location on Trabuco Rd In Mission Viejo several times and was eager to check out their new location on Alicia Pkwy near the 5 fwy. They're located in the same shopping center as Denny's, Del Taco and Dollar Tree, with plenty of free parking available. I had seen the menu on their Yelp page and decided to order the Kid's Breakfast, as I wasn't too hungry. The menu said it came with 2 mini pancakes, 1 bacon or sausage, 1 egg and 2 donut holes for $6.95. Sounded good to me! I called in my order and they said it would be $11.95. I asked why it cost more than the menu price and she said that was an old menu from 2 years ago. Wow, talk about inflation... or more like a rip off! When I arrived about 10 min later, my breakfast was ready. I peeked in the bag and asked where the 2 donut holes were, and the employee said they don't offer that anymore with the kid's breakfast. So let me get this straight... you raise the price by $5 and then take away items from the meal? Okay, got it. The pancakes were rubbery and the egg and bacon were typical. I had also ordered a pink sprinkles donut for $1.95, since the donut holes were removed from the meal, and it was dense and doughy. Take a look at the Kid's Breakfast and tell me if that looks like it's worth $11.99. Add the $2 donut and the breakfast came to $14. Crazy.

I forget sometimes that living with a sweet-toothed foodie sidekick means it is straight up hostile takeover of any sweets entering this household. Yes, this very much includes donuts. THE FOODS | Donuts, breakfast, and lunch items. I treated myself with, and ultimately shared with my foodie sidekick (as if I had a choice)... - One Dozen Assorted Donut Holes | Received four of each: glazed, apple cinnamon crumb, and glazed with sprinkles. Perfect little snack for when you don't want a whole donut, just a donut hole. WOULD I COME BACK? | Absolutely. They have good donuts, but the machaca breakfast burritos are off the charts (reviewed this under their other Yelp page - Mission Viejo location at Trabuco Rd.).

The Beast Mode burrito was delicious! The burrito is huge, ingredients were well incorporated and just what we needed before a beach day. The chocolate iced donut was good - They have a large selection of cake donuts, so if you love cake donuts this is the place for you. The service was great, and our food was ready quickly. Ambiance was nothing special, but you don't come here for the ambiance, you come here for a great breakfast.

This donut shop is Awesome! Free refills on coffee, fresh fluffy donuts (we got the fluffy chocolate cinnamon twist!), incredible breakfast burritos!!! Strongly recommend. Come early in the morning to have the best experience. Great service, great vibes.

Decided to give this place a try and boy did they not disappoint. I was absolutely shocked to see how big their burrito was. It was so delicious and filling. This took care of Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. So worth it's price point The man who served me was also very friendly and nice and I added a fresh squeezed orange juice (not pictured)

We got the breakfast burrito and I've been thinking about it since. The donuts are very good too my fave is their cinnamon crumbs one. Both times we've been, the staff has been very friendly and nice. The place is very spacious and comfy with some tables inside too!

I've complimented their burritos, donuts and coffee before but this weekend I had the ABC Omelette (avocado, bacon, cheese plus side of toast and hash browns) and I was impressed! Everything came out freshly cooked in reasonable time and they even split the plate for my wife and I (as we were planning to do amongst ourselves but that was a delightful surprise). It was delicious! Come in and try a plate for a change. You won't be disappointed. A+ service.

WOW!! I didn't have any donuts and I had no idea they even made all this delicious food! We ordered on door dash, which isn't ideal but I'd rather give my money directly to the business but situation only allowed for delivery and I'm glad they did! Ordered a Veggie Breakfast burrito and it was huge! Also, delicious flavors and tasted so fresh! Love the combination of veggies they added. But the star of the show is their VERDE SAUCE! The red salsa is also great but if there's an option to add more green sauce please add it! Also ordered the Corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, toast and hash browns! Huge portion, you can't see it but there's so much more corned been under the potatoes. Lastly we had to add a side of Biscuits and gravy! They're famous for it! The gravy is this delicious texture with some ground sausage and the biscuits were toasted and buttery! Their menu is huge and I can't wait to try the rest of the delicious options they create! Awesome job to the cooks and workers there!

Wow, wow, wow!!!! Hubby grabbed Is burritos months ago, before we Drove out to SD, I remember them to be good! Today I was craving a breakfast burrito, and remembered this place (nothing like this in Irvine). So we drove over! Hubby ordered breakfast burrito they come With Eggs hash browns and cheese (choice of protein) with sausage, bacon and Avo- I ordered same with Beans (woohoo) they have beans, which is a MUST for me in a breakfast burrito! The salsa's: the green has a little spice, and great flavor The spicy- (red) is a little spicier, and has good flavor, can't decide which I like the most! Ok, ok! So I had to try a donut too! I had the tiger tale twist!! It was light and fluffy, pretty damn good.. They also have lunch items!! Breakfast sandwiches, Tacos and plates.. This is a good find, and super happy I remembered it! Service was good, food was super fresh, and it wasn't crazy busy, perfect For an easy Saturday morning! Kinda pricey, but we only ate 1/2 of the burrito, the size of the burrito is definitely shareable or enough for 2 meals, to me the freshness is worth it! ($40 for 2 burritos, a donut and a monster)

Staff: Young lady was very nice. Value: A bit pricey at $13.00 for 4 donuts and 1/2 dozen donut holes. Quantity/Quality: Size wise they were large, quality wise not as much. Taste was okay. Donut holes did not have enough glaze and overall the donuts were okay. Overall: Okay but not bad. We I be back, not likely only due to other spots near that I have enjoyed more.

Breakfast burritos and tiger tail donuts.. enough said.. this place by far has some of the best .. a little pricey but definitely worth it and for the fact that portions are generous , still giving 5 stars :)

Great breakfast burrito! I would recommend the bacon with added avocado. I wish they had fountain sodas, but still come here for a breakfast burrito whenever I can and just take it home for a soda. I heard this was the best burrito in OC which is why I came in the first place, and I think it is pretty dang close. The service is great and they know their regulars well which is always an encouraging thing to see!

Those breakfast burritos are ridiculously good every time. Super consistent, and I love the burrito rewards card they offer. Plus they have the best donuts, phenomenal!

YUMMY DONUTS SO GOOD SO YUM. i love donut holes, they are by far my favorite type of donuts and this was a good donut hole. i didn't go to the restaurant but i can just tell from the bag that this place is delish on all accounts. reccomend these sweet balls.

28 dollars for a breakfast burrito and a croissant sandwich that take almost half an hour to get. Zero communication from the staff as well. Do yourself a favor and miss this place.

Surfin Donuts - This place is great. The donuts are fresh and delicious. Breakfast burritos are my fav. The real reason Ive been coming here for so long - the owner. Allen is a great guy and always tries to make all his customers happy. Have an issue? Just speak to him- in a professional way. Allen listens The store is always clean, and Allen always delivers the best customer service.

This place is going down hill... it used to be pretty decent but lately it's not. I ordered a croissant sandwich for my grandson today. I discovered when I arrived home 15 minutes later that the croissant was burned and it smelled burnt. I called to report this and she said they grill their croissants. Well this was beyond grilled It was black I ordered a breakfast burrito and it was dried out... Usually I'll order a donut to share but the Apple fritters looked unappetizing

Donuts done right are in short demand in many places across the country having grown up going to the Surfin in SC coming here is always a treat now a days! Two donuts that I always get here one being an apple fritter as they are a flat squished dough circle that's fried and crispy packed with flavor and some apple chunks like you really can't ever go wrong with this one Jew yummy from start to finish! The second one I love to get here is the blueberry fritter that they only have on Sunday's like I wish I would have been in town long enough to get one of those as they are just so so so so good! Overall coming here was a treat and I'm glad to see they've expanded into more than one location hopefully I'll get to come back here again at some point because I know that I'll be craving one until the time comes again!

This rating is strictly for their Ham & Cheese Croissant. I opted for the Jalapeno version. At $5.75 it was on the higher price point but size was on the smaller end. My gripe was that it barely had any cheese at all almost none and tasted more like a Ham & Jalapeno croissant. The croissant was standard. The ham was fine. Just packed with Jalapenos which I didnt mind but almost no cheese. Service friendly enough. But cant give more than 2 stars on a Ham & No Cheese.

Food was IMMACULATE, but i felt bad because they looked short staffed and it did take forever with our food. However, I still think it setting looked authentic and the food and employees were extremely nice.

Do not miss out on this little gem! We looked up a place for breakfast burritos on our way up north from San Clemente and saw that it was conveniently located in a strip mall close to the freeway. At 9 AM on a Saturday, it was pretty packed with patrons which is a good sign, but the staff is quick, efficient, and friendly. they have an entire burrito menu but honestly everybody in line was ordering a standard breakfast burrito. We got three of the bacon breakfast burritos with various sources and let me tell you it did not disappoint! they are like 2 pounds each, hot, flavorful and worth the $11. I will definitely be adding this stop on my drives

Amazing customer service! I also couldn't believe how clean the restaurant was however, I have to disagree with other Yelpers regarding their breakfast burrito. I ordered the bacon one, and I requested the tortilla to be crispy and light cheese. The tortilla wasn't crispy and there was way too much bacon for me to enjoy the burrito. The potatoes were also soggy (I prefer my hash browns to be crispy). Overall, the burrito had good flavor, but I had higher expectations as I've been craving a BB for the longest. The coffee was really good though. I'd probably give them another try in the future.

This review is purely for the breakfast burritos. Absolutely terrible. Came in due to the high reviews and ordered a veggie breakfast burrito. I had high hopes since others were also waiting for their burritos which made me think I made the right choice. After receiving my burrito I was impressed with the weight on the bag. The burrito itself was terrible. There was no salt, no flavor, and falling apart. Especially with a $14 price tag - total order being $16 for a trash burrito I was extremely disappointed. I did end up feeling sick after which leads me to believe this place may not be the most sanitary.

It was okay! 4 stars because prices are cheap/moderate, and it's sort of a hole in the wall. Also 4 stars because it wasn't terrible nor absolutely luxurious. Come here to support your local business if you're one to prefer mom & pop, over corporate! I wasn't much of a fan, just cause I'm extremely picky and only like to grab food at a location where they make something I can't make at home. Overall, everything was fine. Grabbed an iced coffee and a sandwich. Sandwich took about 15 mins to make, and coffee was within a minute. Everything was decent!

Definitely a must try if you're ever in the area. Breakfast is served all day. I usually come for the burritos but they have a decent selection of donuts as well. The Machaca burrito won't disappoint! Portion is decent enough to share between 2 people if you're looking for a light breakfast or lunch. Staff are always friendly when we visit.

Surfin' Donuts has 2 locations about 2 miles from each other, so if you do a phone order, they'll always confirm if you're ordering for the one by the freeway (this location) or the Trabuco Rd location. I found out about them randomly a little over a year ago, and have been a fan since of their BREAKFAST BURRITOS! I've had their chicken and veggie burritos, which were both good. The veggie burrito is flavored perfectly with just the right ratio of eggs, cheese, hash browns, avocado, bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions, for taste in every bite. I devour it in minutes, and you get a complimentary salsa with it- you can select from 3 heat levels. I get the non-spicy one. Delicious! Don't come here for the donuts- I've ordered their raised glazed, chocolate, cake donuts, a cinnamon roll, and they did not have the chewy donut texture I like. The donuts here are average at most, and did not taste very fresh. I've also tried their variety of donut holes- the regular glazed, sprinkles, and crumb, and had the same reaction. The donut holes did not taste fresh. One of my favorite donuts is a crumb donut, but I was disappointed with their crumb donut hole. Try another donut shop if you are craving donuts. Come here for the BREAKFAST. I'm looking forward to trying their sandwiches, quesadillas, and plates in the future. The customer service is great here, and they are always friendly and accommodating. The line is always long every time I go here, even during Covid-19, so phone in your order if you can. Happy eating and stay safe! Support local business :)

I love this place. Unique doughnuts and the best breakfast burritos. They put hash browns inside mixed with the egg. They also have this green sauce or red sauce that's so good. I love the green. When ever I'm in the neighborhood I pick up a few and eat them the next few days.

Surfin donuts has amazing sausage breakfast burritos and a great choice of donuts!! These are the real, old-school, sugary, delicious donuts - not the crummy Dunkin or Krispie Kreme kind. Staff is always friendly and they have cool stuff in the aquarium for my son to check out!
