As someone who's travelled numerous time to the south and experienced real BBQ. This places food is just not the real deal at all. However, they have a lot of other things going for them.
1. Location- absolutely best view downtown. You are right on the marina, so the view from the water cannot be compared to any other restaurant/bar in Plymouth. It's the ONLY one downtown that you can literally spit in the water ( tip: don't that'll be gross)
2. Drinks- great selection of beers, wines and cocktails. The bartenders absolutely know what they are doing, I've had a few mixed drinks (Painkiller, Mojitos and other specials of the day) and you can't go wrong!
3. Staff- friendly, attentive and on the ball, no matter how busy or slow it is it.
4. Atmosphere- well, like I said it's the best view in town, so rain or shine you can sit out and just gaze out into the water. It's perfect and serene.
However, the BBQ? Hard pass. The homemade corn bread has no flavor, the various sauces are not super flavorful, and the smoke that should be tasted in a BBQ meal is almost none. I had the smoked chicken, which tasted more like burned coals from the grill. The ribs, which were almost rock solid- they were a struggle to get off the bone, and the pulled pork- which I'm pretty sure my own homemade version and store bought sauce came out better.
The only food win from here? They have this appetizer of Scallops with a Bacon Jam. Now, THOSE are flavorful. I've gotten them both times so far and they are the real deal. Solid size scallops, delicious bacon in a flavorful sweet jelly. I would HIGHLY recommend that for the app! I even posted a pic of it.
Overall, if you want the real deal BBQ, head to the south. If you've never been to real BBQ, than you might think this is okay. But I'd pass on the meal here and order the drinks and enjoy the view.
