Flavorful Thai foods with convenient, quick, friendly service There's only street parking so choose wisely. It was really dim inside but lots of seating. We got chicken pad Thai and Penang curry with pork. One bowl of rice wasn't enough for the curry, but it was fragrant and tasty. We asked for level 2 spice for both, but it wasn't spicy at all (no kick or heat)!

Absolutely amazing food! I got the classic pad thai which was among the best renditions i’ve had in some time. The atmosphere was great even when the party I was with got a little rowdy! I definitely recommend coming here for a fun night with great food!

I’ve been coming to Surin for years — it’s the BEST Thai food in Atlanta and they have my favorite martini — the purple grape. Period. For appetizers, I recommend the Thai beef jerky and chicken larb. My go-to entrees are the massaman curry and pad-see-u. Donald and Sebio will take care of you!

Been coming here for over 25 years. Always been my favorite Thai spot in Atlanta. Wonderful food, amazing staff. Hard to pick a favorite dish, as there’s something great no matter what you’re craving. Great bar service, or great for a family. Have never had a bad experience at Surin!

My favorite restaurant by far! Lunch specials are the way to go normally. Trey is awesome, even on the busiest night (Saturday), still served with excellent customer service. I’ve had 90% of the menu. Lamb chops tonight were perfectly cooked (medium). 10/10 highly recommend!

I can't understand how this restaurant doesn't have a better rating. The food is flavorful and authentic. The kitchen is however conscious of spice levels - any dish can be made spicy but if you do not ask, they will prepare it as mild. I ordered everything mild so that I could taste the nuances in the curries and meats. It was delicious. So much so that I returned a few days later and order things spiced up. Equally as good, great presentation, and the wait staff is constantly checking on you to make sure everything is perfect. Really enjoy this restaurant and I'm glad I tried them out!

Nom Tok Beef! Yummy! I decided to try the duck instead of my favorite panang curry. I found it a little high on grease by itself. Rice and the sauce helped. The vegetables were steamed and not mushy which is just my preference. This was a Sunday at the noon opening. Street parking is free on Sundays and holidays. The parking lot behind if paid all day every day. They will boot your car.

Surin of Thailand is hands down my favorite restaurant. I come once a week honestly. The food, ambiance and customer service is excellent. I've literally ordered everything off the menu but the Ka Proud Lamb and Soho Lychee martini are my absolute favorite. 10/10!

This is my first time here, and the meal was emaculate! In addition, our waiter -- Tre -- was off the chain... attentive and all that goes along with it!

My husband and I come here at least once a week. It is a staple in our household for a delicious consistent meal. The coconut soup is to die for but not only is the food incredible, the service is top notch. Our waiters are always attentive and kind! We love the atmosphere as well and enjoy the cozy feeling we get when dining! I cannot say enough good things about Surin! 10/10!

Food tasted great, no issues there. However, service was off putting and kind of mood killing. I visited my friend in town and she wanted to bring me to a nearby Thai spot. We shared the crab angels appetizer and moo nom tok entree and it was a good portion size. When we arrived, our server was very kind and pleasant. While eating, we found an eyelash in the middle of our sticky rice and brought it up to our server. He cut us off when we were explaining (I don't even think he heard what we were saying) and said to just give it to him and he took the plate to the kitchen. A few minutes later, he came back out with the same plate (unchanged) and put it on our table and asked if we wanted it remade. At that point, we had already eaten a lot of it so we asked if they could give a discount or maybe a free dessert as most places do in this kind of situation. After this incident, he gave us short responses the rest of the night and ignored our table almost completely when previously he had been very smiley and even making jokes. We ended up getting the mango sticky rice dessert and as we were eating, he passed by the table and said "happy now?" in an off-putting tone. Even though the dessert was good, eating it in this context wasn't very enjoyable. The service experience is why I'm giving it a 3 star rating, otherwise the food was good and would've gotten a 4/5.

Service is good. The restaurant is not clean at all. I ordered shrimp fried rice and as I mixed it up on my plate.. up came a roach in the rice.

I hadn't been to Surin in years - had a quick, light dinner with a friend last night. Great experience! This is one restaurant that's still getting it right. We were seated immediately and had drinks and food in front of us within minutes. I'm here to tell you to order the Surin Baskets appetizer - I didn't know exactly what to expect, but it's six little crispy pastry shells served with a delicious chicken and corn concoction and a vinegary, slightly sweet sauce with chopped cucumbers. You fill up the little pastry and eat the whole thing - it's a party in your mouth! We also had some very good chicken satay and a slice of delicious, fresh coconut cake. Recommended.

Delicious food with incredible service! The restaurant is in a really convenient area; so if you're ever stopping by the Virginia Highlands area, I really recommend trying Surin!

I came to Surin of Thailand with some friends for a Friday night dinner. Parking in Virginia Highlands is always a little tricky but you can usually find street or residential parking. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our waiter was helpful with making recommendations. We decided to order the crab rangoons, spring rolls, chicken larb, and drunken noodles with chicken. The appetizers were alright, and the larb and drunken noodles were delicious! Overall, standard but solid Thai spot.

My wife and I regularly visit this true gem. Our order is without fail: - Coconut Soup (with Chicken)--no doubt the best in the city (and we've gone on a hunt to prove otherwise to no avail) - Spicy Beef Salad (surprisingly tasty favorite on the lighter side) - Spicy Noodle (with chicken)--my absolute favorite. - Extra: Chicken larb for the true Thai feel. The service is quick, ambiance casual, and food seriously affordable. Donald, our waiter, is always so kind.

Had a wonderful dinner with my wife following a movie at the Plaza Theater! We had the Dim Sum Dumplings that were fantastic, delicious wonton soup and I had the Shrimp Panag Curry which was so rich and perfectly spicy! Will be my new go-to for panang! Food presentations were lovely and our server Maily was absolutely marvelous! Thank you for making date night so enjoyable!

This is my first time visiting and the customer service was very good. Egg roll appetizer was 10/10! I had Chicken Pad Thai as my main entree and it was also very good! I will definitely be back!

Happy customer! I'm a little surprised the reviews aren't better. Granted, this is my first experience with Surin, but my meal was delicious. I ordered takeout green curry with tofu and veggies (medium spice). The herbs, the heat, the smooth, sweet coconut milk, it all hit the spot. Thai is one of my favorite cuisines and this did not disappoint. The pricing for the portions seems on par with similar places around town. I'll definitely come back for round 2.

The best coconut soup in atlanta. I love Surin and suggest trying everything on their menu. I really like the Spicy Noodle dish with beef or chicken.

We were seated without a reservation on a Monday before NYE so very grateful. I'm a faithful Yelper and I like to read reviews from past guests to get an idea of the service and food level of a business. I was pleasantly surprised with the service of Surin of Thailand. I wasn't super hungry so I came for the fellowship with friends but stayed for the drinks. Whoever is their bartender is freaking amazing. Everyone in my group ordered martinis of some fashion but the star was the Lychee Martini's. I think we eventually ordered 10 in yoga at the table excluding other drinks they were that good. I'm a huge soup guy so I ordered the Wong Tong soup which I believe is meant for 2 but I think for 1 since I ate it alone lol. I also ordered a side of wings. Everything I ordered was amazing and the soup could have used more flavor but it was still very delicious. I would definitely comeback to Surin and will definitely be on my list next time I'm in town. If anything I'll come just for the drinks and an appetizer.

Just finished a delicious meal at Surin. In I started with the curry puffs and egg rolls. For entree we had the curry salmon and ribeye, which was amazing. For dessert coconut cake and creme brulee, all made in house! Our server, Men, was also awesome. This was my first time here, but I'll definitely be back!

Surin of Thailand is one of my Atlanta go-to food destinations serving authentic Thai cuisine with a focus on the freshest local vegetables and meats. But Surin also feels like a community, where the wait staff knows you by name and you get to engage at the bar with interesting people. Surin is located in Virginia Highland at the intersection of N. Highland and Greenwood Avenue. The owners of Surin also own Ocean Wave (Harry & Sons) in the same neighborhood and 4 Thai restaurants in Alabama. Surin has been serving Atlanta since the 1990s. It is not the most modern interior, but it has a comfortable feel. Customer service is always top notch. The chefs are also able to accommodate spice level preferences. We ordered: Drinks: Cucumber Martini, Lemon Drop Martini, French Cosmopolitan, Margarita Appetizers: Moo Yang (char-grilled pork loin), Spring Rolls, Thai Style Chicken Wings, Dim Sum Mains: Ka Proud Lamb, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Thai Barbecued Chicken, Succulent Catfish, Green Curry During past visits, I have also enjoyed their Chicken Larb,Thai Beef Jerky, Spicy Coconut Soup, Thai Spicy Basil Fried Rice, and Prik King. Surin's martinis are epic. All of them. I have not had a bad one, and I have enjoyed quite a few. I can personally recommend the Soho Lychee, Ginger, French Cosmopolitan, and Lemon Drop ones. My friend also enjoyed her margarita. The spring rolls are your standard fare for a Thai restaurant. I enjoyed my moo yang, as it was well seasoned. The chicken wings are solid but not memorable. The Dim Sum felt dense and lacked flavor. I love their Thai Barbecued Chicken, and someone also orders it anytime we are here. The marinade is so tasty and the chicken is always tender. The Sweet & Sour Chicken is my friend's go-to dish. I actually appreciate them serving the sauce separately from the chicken, as it allows us to enjoy the chicken's crispiness. The lamb chops are prepared medium and are tender and flavorful. I really like the chopped bell pepper, basil, and onion sauce that accompanies the lamb chops. Their fried rice is very solid as well.

Surin Thai is hands-down one of our favorite spots! We always order the spicy coconut soup, nam sod, paneng curry with beef, and pad see u--and every single dish is consistently amazing. The flavors are bold, fresh, and comforting, and we always leave satisfied. A special shoutout to Donal, our go-to server, who is always friendly, attentive, and makes the whole experience even better.

Idk why people think this is not good because this is classic and delicious Thai food First it is so well priced. I'm tired of over priced Thai food that tastes like it should be $10 less. This was perfect. We ordered take out and could not have been happier. The food was piping hot and servings were generous For apps, we got the crab angels and egg rolls. Egg rolls were okay but the crab rangoons slapped For the mains, we got panang curry with tofu, pad see you with shrimp, spicy noodle with tofu and fried rice with shrimp and they all slapped. Portions were great spice levels were awesome. Honestly could not have been better. Please see my bowl of mixed goods from our take out :)

Our family had a special event tonight in Atlanta and the food here at Surin is the best Thai food I've ever had. we've made sure to come back multiple times just to eat here and we had an awesome waiter named Donal... that guy was a blast and knew exactly what he was talking about recommending the best way for each dish. can't wait to come back here again for another great experience!
