The Best Boba Shops in NYC

"The union of boba and soft serve is one we’d root for on a reality TV dating show, and Surreal Creamery does this combination especially well. Get the Flotea, a bubble milk tea topped with a sky-high swirl of ice cream. (These are enormous, so bring a friend or two to share.) If you need caffeine and ice cream to get through a torturous workday, get the thai milk bubble tea topped with vietnamese coffee soft-serve. Milder options include a matcha/taro swirl with taro bubble tea. Surreal Creamery has locations in Midtown and Greenwich Village." - molly fitzpatrick, carina finn koeppicus

The Best Soft Serve In NYC

"Surreal Creamery isn’t just fun to say, it’s also fun to visit. This ice cream spot off of 2nd Avenue in Murray Hill makes soft serve flavors that feel almost inconceivable. (Except we're grateful that someone conceived them.) There's a cookies and cream flavor the exact shade of Cookie Monster, as well as toppings like Lucky Charms and Teddy Grahams. And you can get your soft serve in a cup full of bubble tea or a sundae in a mason jar. If you’re closer to Greenwich Village, Surreal also has a location there. Surreal Creamery Review - Greenwich Village - New York - The Infatuation

"Surreal Creamery might be the key to bringing society together. No matter how hard you try, you can’t resist talking to the person next to you about what they ordered (and vice versa). This Greenwich Village spot serves sundaes in mason jars, with options like their Nom Nom Cookie with blue cookies and cream, marshmallow puffs, and chocolate syrup. You can also just get a cup of soft serve in flavors like taro, matcha, or earl grey vanilla and customize it with various toppings like condensed milk, waffle cookies, and Fruity Pebbles. But the “floateas” (soft serve on top of bubble tea) are why you come here. Take a few sips of tea, then have a bite of the ice cream swirled on top. Wait until the two layers begin to coalesce, and you basically have a bubble tea milkshake. It’s a beautiful thing. photo credit: Kenny Yang" - Kenny Yang

Google
The chocolate mason jar was delicious. The ice cream is super creamy, and the cocoa pops and Oreos and syrup was great with the ice cream. I shared it with two other friends.

Google
On taste alone, I'd give 2 stars... pretty good but nothing to write home about. However, on creativity, this deserved an extra star. They have a good menu that's fully customizable. If you do a cake jar you can pick your own cake, ice cream, frosting and toppings which is pretty cool. However, I'd also take off a star because 1) there is no seating and 2) the service was also not great. The cashier didn't speak a single word to us until I asked a question about the menu, and she seemed annoyed to answer it. TLDR: check is out if you're in the area because it's a novel, customizable ice cream and cake jar experience. However, I wouldn't take a trip into the neighborhood just for this place.

Google
You definitely have to Take Out here unless you’re by yourself as the place is very cramped. I was with 3 friends and we could barely fit with the 5 other people inside. On the bright side it was very hot out that day and they had AC. Besides that everything was great! It was my first time trying it so played it safe and got the Brown Sugar boba ice cream. Delicious. They are very generous with the servings so one thing I would say is to get napkins and make sure you’re going somewhere to sit and eat it. (Me and my friends went to the park anyway) It can get real messy real fast. Definitely coming again to try something else!

Google
Incredible ice cream creations. They are works of art. Lots of variety. I got Vietnamese iced coffee and taro. The people working here are super awesome. There's no seating but there's a bar to stand at. This place is a hidden gem and I need to come back!!!

Google
Solid spot but they don’t really have a serving for a single person. Their small cup works for 2-3 people. Pricing is steep because you have to get 2-3 persons worth at a time. Monster cookie with fruit loops is fantastic

Google
I’ve been here twice and it was all good. I’ve tried taro and brown sugar floats. I prefer taro or others than brown sugar because I don’t like too sweet dessert but this float was delicious. It was very sweet but earl grey ice cream got along very well with it so it was perfect. It’s kind of expensive as an ice cream but it’s worth to try. It’s great 🍦

Google
It was 33 degrees out, but I didn't care. Surreal Creamery was 8 minutes away and I always wanted to pay it a visit. So glad I did! I had the Chocolate Blackout with soft serve chocolate ice cream, chocolate syrup, chocolate puffs, and Oreo cookies. I opted to get my ice cream in a mason jar (11.25+ tax). Creamery had an $8 and $10 regular plastic cup option. The ice cream was pure, rich and surreally creamy. The creamy part was just fantastic. I thought the Blackout came with only one cookie, but I got a wonderful surprise as I got to the middle of my treat. Chunks of Oreos and whole chocolate puffs were waiting for me!! My ice cream was super tall and enough for one person. It's tall, but don't let someone convince you to share. You'll want every last bit of your ice cream! PS The staff is fantastic!! Tip them well because they deserve it?

Google
VERY sugary. Definitely get 1 order for like 3 people if you don't want to walk out of here diabetic. That being said, it's very good and the flotea idea is an innovative take on bubble tea. It's a great choice for when it gets super hot so give this place a look if you're with a group!

Yelp
This was a repeat stop after I tried for the first time last year and I've been dying to find anything like where I live in SoCal. It's so good and unique! Two of the best things - boba and ice cream - combined to make the most amazing thing ever. I got the Thai tea boba and Vietnamese coffee ice cream and they were delish. Great flavor. Perfectly chewy boba and extremely creamy and smooth ice cream. It's an obnoxiously large amount but very good.

Yelp
Surreal is an awesome dessert spot that has a lot of unique options! They have a huge variety of ice cream flavors, toppings, cakes, frostings, boba and more. What makes this place cool is you can combine different desserts into one. You can have boba and ice cream on top, cake with ice cream on top with whatever flavors you want, etc. I can't think of another place that does this and it is a cool experience if you like variety. The store is a walk in take out spot, no seats or tables inside. Workers are very nice!
google avatar

Yelp
I like the concept of this place in the flare definitely pulls you in. But the quality of ice cream is not anything outstanding. The soft serve ice cream, which is always pretty simple, isn't that flavorful or rich and dairy. For two people, we got the extra large jar. Because they make it so tall, I would recommend getting the smaller version and save some money because there is a lot of ice cream we had. Another complaint I have is lack of spoons to eat is very deep dish. I wanted ice cream bites to be joined with pieces of cake at the bottom but you're given short plastic Bendy spoons that don't work. That was a complaint. They need to be long, silver spoons that you return back to them and then the experience will be a lot better.

Yelp
First time at this location. I got a taro and matcha swirl in a cup with mochi bites, waffle cookie and stroopwaffle. It was really good, and I would be giving this place 5 stars except that it smells like a moldy basement in there. Get your treats to go and eat outside/elsewhere!!

Yelp
Surreal Creamery is like the pretty person in school who photographs well but struggles to sit down and hold your attention beyond their looks. So much style, so little substance. It's completely fine in terms of ice cream and tea. But you can get a better version (maybe a little less pretty) of every component elsewhere. It's not the best matcha. It's not the best softserve. It's not the best boba. What it is, is very cool. Very pretty. And quite a lot of volume.

Yelp
3.5/5 Came with my boyfriend and got the flotea. We got the Vietnamese coffee ice cream with Thai tea and it tasted pretty good. The portion was just way too big and it just got too sweet so we only ate half of it unfortunately. This portion could've probably been shared among 4 people. The price was not bad for the portion but it just felt like a waste when you don't have enough people to eat it.

Yelp
We got a Cookie Monster something-or-other. It was cute, but honestly didn't taste like much. Maybe should've gone for one of the Asian flavored ice creams rather than relying on their blue vanilla. Probably won't return, but if you're looking for high volume soft serve that's pretty fun, but you're NOT an ice cream snob, then go for it!

Yelp
I visited Surreal Creamery late one night when I was craving dessert. I stumbled upon this spot while walking and noticed they offer boba drinks with ice cream. Initially, I was skeptical, thinking it might be overly sweet, but to my surprise, the sweetness was perfectly balanced. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the experience. The shop is quite small, with only a few tables and standing room only inside, but it's definitely worth checking out.

Boden M.

Yelp
Tasted great and was a good price as well. The place has a cool hidden sort of feel. The service was good and accommodating to my gluten free needs.

Yelp
If you wanna be the talk of the entire city of Manhattan, go get this ice cream. So many people stopped us on the street to ask where we got it lol. In the little mason jar pictured, there was a whole cake in the bottom! Ice cream was really good with a good variety of unique flavors and they have a large variety of toppings.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best dessert spots I've ever had! Fun combinations of flavors, great portion sizes for the price (a mason jar and the ice cream boba drinks are very shareable), and friendly employees make this my top dessert spot in NYC. The interior of Surreal Creamery is very small, so you'll likely need to take it to go--I'd recommend walking the block-and-a-half to Washington Square Park to enjoy your sweet treat!
google avatar

Yelp
After eating a slice of pizza, my friend and I wanted something sweet, and thanks to Yelp found Surreal Creamery. It is small inside and there aren't any seats so you have to stand at the counters. I saw from the pictures they had Ube ice cream and ordered Know Your Roots (Taro Ice Cream, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Chocolate Crunch, Chocolate Syrup, and a Cinnamon Graham Cracker). It came in a mason jar (so cute!) and the ube ice cream was not too sweet, smooth and creamy. The cinnamon toast crunch brought back childhood memories. On the bottom of the mason jar were the biscuits with chocolate sauce. Oh so good. It definitely satisfied our craving for dessert and I am definitely a fan!

Yelp
Located on busy Macdougal Street. Small hole in the wall, no seating, thought it was closed at first. Wanted the vietnamese coffee ice cream so picked the combo with thai tea. Certainly a wow when I got it. So much ice cream, good for at least 2 people. But not really vietnamese coffee flavor, just coffee so a letdown. Thai tea is pre-made so couldn't adjust sweetness- too sweet for me esp mixed with the ice cream. Didn't like the boba which seemed undercooked.

Yelp
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I've been coming here since the start of the pandemic and continue to give them my business anytime I'm in the area. Earl grey vanilla is the star of the show here for me. It's become one of my favorite ice cream flavors... ever. I'm also fairly selective with my topping choices, the mason jar allows for me to get all that I'd ever want on my ice cream. The mason jar also is very generous. Although they can become a bit slow when they have more traffic(as expected) the wait is never ridiculous. This location can also get very cramped very quickly, if you really want to avoid a wait, their kips bay is less crowded on average.
google avatar

Kimber H.

Yelp
What a treat. Honestly, we were stuffed from Olio, but had to give this a try as we were in the neighborhood. It's ALOT of ice cream and you can only get the one size. Matcha bubble tea and taro ice cream was yummy. Between the 4 of us, we couldn't even finish it.
google avatar

Wendy F.

Yelp
First time I've been to a dessert place like this! I loved this idea of half boba and half ice cream. You get the best of both worlds! Only need 1 to share between two people! The ice cream was so full of flavor and the teas on the bottom made it so enjoyable. It's a really small place and has one big step to get inside but great place to stop by for dessert. Staff was super friendly too.
google avatar

Marie D.

Yelp
Best I've cream EVER. If you like ice creams, boba, matcha, taro, this is for you! The Floteas Ice cream is in a large cup, it's basically a meal but iykyk then you have to make room. I ate more than half in one sitting it was so good and I'm not really a dessert person. I ordered the matcha and taro with boba and my fiancé ordered the medium cup (it is huge). Oreos, marshmallows, lucky charms for him and just a simple boba match ice cream with taro and boba flotea for me. What I love is that you don't get messy eating ice cream in hot nyc summer weather, because if it does melt while you're walking around it turns into a milkshake boba drink after!!! If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Great customer service too in Greenwich village

Yelp
I had Surreal Creamery on my list for the longest time, and it was such a letdown! I wavered between 2 or 3 stars, but ultimately decided on 2 because there are better competitors out there, so I do not feel the need to come back here to try something else. This location has no seating area, just a small standing area that can accommodate 1-2 people. My friend and I split the I Dream of Taro Ice Cream Cake jar ($14.75). Whoever thought of this needs to be fired, because it does not work. I am sure that the ice cream and cake are intended to be enjoyed together, but there is so much ice cream on the top, that you can't really get to the cake without knocking it over. I'm all for their large portion sizes, but I'm not really into having large portions of mediocrity. The flavor of the ice cream was very artificial, which I know some people do enjoy. The cake was dry and desperately needed the ice cream to moisten it up. The idea holds a lot of promise, but the execution fails miserably. If they want to use reusable things, perhaps a square or rectangular tupperware would work so it would be easier to enjoy the ice cream and cake together. If they did this and had a moist and fluffy cake, I could live with the artificial taro flavor. However, as it stands, there is room for improvement.

Yelp
Stopped here late night around 10:30pm on Monday for dessert in the area. Staff was friendly but they were out / no longer serving some of the menu like slushies and milk teas I think. My friends and I shared a Flotea- the earl gray bubble tea with earl gray vanilla ice cream. The tea was pretty good and tasted like earl gray but we were disappointed with the ice cream which tasted just like plain vanilla. They've definitely gotten the aesthetics down, our drink/dessert looked really pretty and the swirl was made perfectly! It's a small shop and not really any seating, there's some standing room to eat. Come Again? Maybe, it's a decent late night option since places close as it gets later and it's nice that this place is open but probably would choose something else if there's a better place open at the time.
google avatar

Janelle S.

Yelp
I am a big fan of soft serve ice cream and Surreal Creamery is my go-to spot for just that. My go-to combo is the ube and matcha swirl in a cup (I have too many souvenir mugs at this point) with fruity pebbles, marshmallows, and caramel. They offer a wide variety of flavors and they also have their own combinations on the menu. Surreal is great for those with sweet tooths! They also do a "Flotea" which is the soft serve in a milk tea of your choice. It comes with A LOT so share with a friend LOL. Their milk teas and boba are pretty average; the main star is their soft serve. The shop itself is pretty small, there's no seating but it's a quick walk to Washington Square Park to enjoy your treat.
google avatar

Leilani S.

Yelp
This place is hidden and easy to miss! But if you do find it, give it a try! The workers are all very nice and the drinks/desserts come out quickly! It is a small place with no seating but it's close enough to the park so you can just eat it there. Got the Thai tea with the matcha soft serve. The Thai tea wasn't bad, a little watery but not horrible at all! Boba was just avg. The soft serve was delicious! I wish just the oreo was like crumbled on top. All together it isn't too sweet! The dessert is HUGE honestly enough for 3-4 people to share!
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
Been on my list for a long long time and finally stopped by today. Good cup of portion for two to share. Thai milk tea was mid but the Vietnamese coffee swirl was amazing. Friendly service and small space to enjoy
google avatar

Kai W.

Yelp
Organic frozen yogurt made with local cream from NY farms. Not too sweet and had variety of toppings. After sampling a couple of the flavors from the very helpful young woman behind the counter... I had the berry parfait. It was delicious.
google avatar

Savannah C.

Yelp
Good service! The cashiers were very nice and patient. A grab and go spot which is pretty unfortunate considering how massive these ice cream jars are. I got early grey every day and it tasted pretty bad haha. All of the ingredients just tasted really cheap. For example, the ladyfinger cookie, caramel, and cereal puffs all tasted like knock-off dollar store versions, but worse.

Yelp
If you want an ice cream place where you truly get more bang for your buck, OOF this is the place!! So I went to the Kips Bay location during the pandemic and it was frightening because of their huge lines, so imagine to my surprise this location hidden away by the West 4th Street station! It's very tiny, where only 1 party can fit comfortably at a time, but it's very much worth it. I'm not a big fan of thai iced tea or brown sugar bubble tea or earl grey bubble tea or taro bubble tea or matcha bubble teas -- so I was sorely disappointed I couldn't try any of the Floteas (bubble tea & ice cream combo) -- sorry, I'm a fruit tea girl!! But I was able to try to the Signature Mason Jar ice cream, specifically the Nom Nom Cookie!! And oh my goodness, it is truly everything you dreamed of and more. The employees put so much care and detail into making your ice cream to ensure that you will taste every flavor in every bite. And yes, $11.25 for an ice cream you may ask, but trust me... after like 10 spoonfuls you'll be full, but you'll realize that you've only touched the tip of the iceberg...or mason jar in this case! Even though I have limited flavors based on my taste buds, if you're not as picky, please, please go ahead and treat yourself!! You will not regret it!! Cailin's Recommendations - Nom Nom Cookie ($11.25) - Monster Cookie & Chocolate Swirl in a cup or milkshake!! ($10)
google avatar

Tia B.

Yelp
Ordered the matcha taro swirl with sprinkles and a waffle cone. The ice cream was really creamy and had a soft serve texture and taste. If you are looking to have some good soft serve in Asian flavors, would recommend! There's no eating place inside really, so more of a stand and eat place. The location is also super close to a bunch of other fun places!
google avatar

Kirk M.

Yelp
Menu was confusing (what you could swap out, etc), they were out of chocolate ice cream, and the staff wasn't particularly friendly. I ordered a small mason jar special. The picture didn't show it, but it came with a giant swirl of ice cream on top. I normally wouldn't complain about getting something extra from what I expected except that the ice cream wasn't very good and blocked everything else in the mason jar. I ended up scraping most of it into the trash just to get to the main stuff in the jar which wasn't much better. The cake was dry and stale. It may be worth trying something else on the menu, but I likely won't return.
google avatar

Olivia P.

Yelp
Let's make this short and sweet (pun intended). This is a great place to get a delicious and unique ice cream concoction. There are pre made selection of ice cream creation and milk tea combinations that all sound amazing. You can also make your own! It's pricey but you get SO much ice cream. The ice cream tastes good. I love all the unique flavors they have. I will definitely come back to try more. This time around I got the Cookie Monster with a friend and we didn't finish it. I loved the pieces of cookie and the chocolate sauce. Perfect for a winter night or summer night! Although one will be a much lovelier walk with your ice cream from the shop.
google avatar

Alice Z.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 | Service: 4.5/5 | Experience: 4/5 This halfway underground hole in the wall does not have seating, but there are some counters to eat at. We were notified that there were some menu items that were out of stock, but it did not affect my choices. I ordered the taro & matcha swirl with chocolate sticks in a kid's cup (~$9), which does not make this a cheap dessert. However, the portion sizes are massive. One kid's cup can easily satisfy two or three people. The taro and matcha flavors were perfect and were a great complement to the other flavor. The presentation was also beautiful, and they put some of your fillings in the middle of the swirl as well.
google avatar

Fay K.

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious treats! I could easily become addicted...I should try a different color at least!
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Loved the aesthetic of this place! Small hole in the wall that sells ice cream and boba milkshakes. The taro was creamy but not a super strong ube flavor. Enjoyed the cinnamon toast crunch and chocolate flakes which added a nice, unique flavor and crunch! Fairly pricey but you get the keep the mason jar $11.
google avatar

Karissa S.

Yelp
The desserts here are so aesthetic! Boba + ice cream is always a great combination but unfortunately the taste did not live up to the hype I've seen on social media. I got the thai tea with vietnamese coffee and black sesame ice cream. The tea tasted very artificial and sweet and the ice cream flavor was not strong. They have lots of flavors to try but will probably not be back.

Yelp
Surreal Creamery is a cute small shop located near Washington Square Park. There are plenty of options on the menu- ice cream, ice cream floats, and boba. I love the diverse Asian flavors on the menu such as matcha, taro, Vietnamese iced coffee, and Thai tea. The employee was super nice and helpful. My friend is allergic to eggs and he was able to investigate if the ice cream contained eggs or not (it doesn't). I ordered a small cup ($8) of the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk and it was super delicious and rich. Definitely share this with a friend because it's A LOT! My friend got the Earl Grey float and loved it but wasn't able to finish it. I wish they offered smaller sizes w/cheaper prices because $8-10 is pretty steep for ice cream especially if you can't finish all of it!
google avatar

Kathryn Y.

Yelp
Been going here for a bit because my college is so close to this place. I love it for when I really want a good combo of both bubble tea and ice cream. This place is amazing for doing that and I love that. Honestly though when I got it by myself I had a really hard time finishing it, even though it was delicious. I suggest sharing it with a friend or two. Check this place out though it's super cute and the workers seem chill.
google avatar

Sapha H.

Yelp
I love ice cream, so when we passed by Surreal Creamery, I knew we had to stop by. It's small inside so only a few people can go in at a time, but it's clean. Service is not so friendly, but the ice cream was really good. Definitely enough for 2+ people to share. Would come back again if I'm ever in the area.
google avatar

Kevin Z.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I personally don't enjoy soft serve nearly as much as I do hard serve (which I LOVE). This place puts boba in their ice cream but I didn't get it. From my friend that day, the boba was extremely hard and did not taste fresh. Personally, I noticed is that their ice cream is super sweet, which makes it harder to eat. They have huge portions that allow easily 2-3 people to eat one item. As a huge ice cream fan, I could not finish this even with one person's help. Surreal is also standing room only so not great for any type of group. There was maybe space for 6 people total in the store. I'll probably just go to Van Leeuwen or some other hard serve ice cream place next time.

Vicky R.

Yelp
I've had my eye on this place for a while and I was so happy to finally try it. Everything on the menu looked so good and I was overwhelmed by the options. We eventually settled on the float-tea with classic earl grey bubble tea topped with a swirl earl grey with Vietnamese coffee soft serve. It was absolutely delicious. The dessert was enormous and two of us sharing it couldn't finish the whole thing. We started by drinking the dessert and finished off most of the tea before diving into it like an ice cream. The boba is on the firmer side. It was so delicious but so much food! I think next time we will try just the ice cream.

Yelp
Taro bubble tea with matcha ice cream $10.25 4.5/5 Loveeeed the combination of flavors!! The portions are huge, and it can be shared by 2 people. I just wish the bubble tea was iced and not warm. The drink was prepared quickly ~5min. The staff were all so nice too! The spot is small with no seating indoors or outdoors, but there is a nearby park and bench. IG @postedforu

Yelp
Absolutely loved everything about this place! The customer service was amazing -- he asked me questions about preferences to ensure that everything was to my liking. The interior decorations are soooo cute. For my first time here, the brown sugar milk tea w/ ice cream, i was perfect. The boba was prepared really well and best vanilla ice cream I've had in a while. I will say if you get the milk tea with ice cream, it is a lot so make sure you have the stomach for it or share with someone else.

Yelp
No matter what you order, everything is SO AESTHETIC. There is a screen with all of the default orders, and a list of all ingredients and steps of you want to create your own! My friend and I went. We took a minute to order, but the guy was very patient and explained everything to us. We appreciated him very much. I ordered the taro/matcha swirl ice cream in the largest size, with Lychee bubble tea and an oreo. It took me a few tries to get used to bubble tea AND ice cream, but everything I got tasted great together. My friend got the earl grey vanilla ice cream and Graham crackers. She wanted a coffee flavor but they told us the machine was broken and they could not give us any coffee. I tried the earl grey and we both thought it had a weird aftertaste...I don't usually like this flavor, but she does, and we both disliked it. I wish they had either earl grey or vanilla on their own, not combined. The place itself is clean, and a nice bar-type piece to place your drinks on for photos. But there are no seats, and it is very small. The bill was $23.41 for both. The flotea was $10.25 and the mason jar was $11.25, plus tax. A bit pricey but it's worth trying at least once! Mainly because of the friendly staff, and the actual stuff looks so pretty.

Yelp
Listen, it was hotter than the hinges in hell in New York last month, so Jamie W. and I were liquifying as we were strolling the Village. When we parked ourselves on a bench in Washington Square, I was on the hunt for something cold to put in our mouths. Now we could've bolted over to Shade for their mind-blowing espresso martinis, but we were intent on maintaining sobriety for the show we were seeing in a couple of hours. We found this tiny spot just a block away on MacDougal where three young guys ran the shop. The menu was a lot to take in as we didn't know the benefits of a Mason jar or why the Monster Cookie flavor was an electric blue. I didn't think it would be a good idea to have blue ice cream before a Broadway show, so I went for a $10 cup of the Earl Grey Vanilla and Vietnamese Iced Coffee Swirl with Biscoff and Graham Cracker Straws (photo: https://bit.ly/3Qj2bNd). Jamie ordered the same thing except he replaced the Graham Cracker Straws with Cookie Crisps which were inserted throughout the cup (photo: https://bit.ly/3Qj2ffL). Of course, it hit the spot. Was there any doubt? It was downright decadent, and I could see the Mason jar serving gave you even more ice cream since it was bottom heavy just like me. They also offer bubble teas, fruit teas, and milkshakes if you prefer. Did I mention how blistering hot it was? ICE CREAM - 4 stars...quite creamy and the portion almost overwhelmed the cup AMBIANCE - 3 stars...just a small space, prepare to take your indulgence away SERVICE - 3.5 stars...not much convo, they were generous with the ice cream TOTAL - 4 stars...yeah, it was kinda surreal RELATED - Hungry in NYC? Yelp
Surreal Creamery in Greenwich village is an over-the-top creamery serving innovative ice cream milk teas and enormous, whimsically-themed mason jar sundaes. We created our own mason jar with Vietnamese coffee, Oreo and chocolate crunch. We'll definently be back to try their other creations this summer

Yelp
It looks pretty but it's not worth it at all. The boba is terrible and the price is very high. I liked the ice cream and the flavor options though they don't really compliment each other. It's a pop in kind of place that doesn't feel very welcoming, ended up eating at the park nearby. I would save your money and go buy homemade ice cream and boba separately from the amazing options that are available in the city that aren't just for the aesthetic.

Yelp
Wow even the small sizes are hella massive. The ice cream itself was tasty and enjoyed the earl grey with all the fun toppings.

Yelp
We saw someone walking down the street with a huge, pretty cup of ice cream from Surreal Creamery and decided we had to give it a try. The shop is super tiny so not really any room to sit and eat so plan to take your sweet treat on the go. Portions are extremely generous!! I got a small and it was still quite big. They have a variety of yummy pre set combos of ice cream/toppings. Or you can choose to build your own with ice cream or ice cream and bubble tea. They have many unique flavors too such as Taro and Earl Grey Tea. I made my own with strawberry soft serve, strawberry sauce, and Biscoff cookies. The ice cream was really rich and creamy. It was a delicious sweet treat on a hot day!

Yelp
Tiny little spot but there are so many menu options and they're all awesome. Pretty hefty boba floats and mason jar sundaes. Personally the kids cup soft serve is already a lot for one person! Amazing texture. The cookie one (blue color) tastes like bday cake. The taro one is perfect and not overwhelmingly sweet!! Highly recommend. Chocolate is good too. Awesome spot!! Yelp
This place drawn to me by their mix of drink and soft serve the two of my favorite in summer. I had a floatea with Thai tea with boba and swirl earl grey and ice coffee soft serve. The soft serves are creamy but I didn't taste much of the earl grey or ice tea flavor. Which is a bit disappointing. The thai tea I got from elsewhere are very sweet but this is not sweet, but once the soft serve melt into the tea it will make it taste delicious adding sweetness and creaminess to the drink. The size is HUGE, I would really recommend for two person to share it's huge amount for one person. Also, I know the space is small in the shop, if allows eat inside where there's AC in the store. I stepped outside just seconds the soft serve started to melt all over and drip all over my hand and cloth. I had to stop to quickly eat all the soft serve on top to stop the bleeding. It was a disaster.
