Update: 8/8/25 Manager reached out to me and refund a portion of my meal as well as getting credit to give them a second try. I really appreciate this from restaurant owner. Shows that he cares. Looking forward to reserving another lunch or dinner with my friends. Love supporting local businesses. I've updated my stars. ~~~~~~~ YOU LIKE THIS PLACE?! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT SUSHI IS SUPPOSED TO TASTE LIKE. I only finished my plate because I was paying for it no matter what. I'll never be back here nor recommend to anyone. All taste the same. Sushi is below standards. My tuna sushi 🍣 taste old and texture was like gum. People there are super nice which hate to leave such review but their food is not good at all. I walked away paying just a bit less than $150 and none of it was worth it even the Sake 🍶 was really bad and cheap. The 4.9 stars currently reviewing can only be of patrons who only ever buy cheap sushi like from Ralph's. Even whole foods has better quality sushi than here. Just looking at the color says it. Tuna is not meant to be bright pink or red like if it was the fake one for display. All the plates tasted the exact same. The spicy tuna tempura was pure rubber. Spicy mayo no flavor nor spice at all.

Hands down the best sushi on Ventura Blvd! I’ve been to many sushi spots, but this place stands out in both taste and quality. Every piece of sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the presentation was next-level. All menu were full of flavor and melt-in-your-mouth goodness. What really elevated the experience, though, was the service. All staffs were genuinely kind and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Located right on the main strip of Sherman Oaks, the spot is easy to find and parking is a breeze. There’s plenty parking in the rear, and pro tip: the spacious bank lot next door is available in the evenings. Super convenient. Perfect for a date night or a relaxed family dinner. Staff was very friendly and greeted us at the door. I absolutely love the dining area at sushi Aria. They offer outdoor seating in their wonderful patio as well. They have over 30 choices of rolls to choose from. The fish is very fresh and the hot meals are great too! Highly recommend the tempura here! Chefs Albacore with spicy tuna is the absolute best. Will be coming back for more 😊 our server Jay was friendly and very attentive!

This was our first time here, the galaxy roll, spicy tempura roll and the vegetable tempura roll were all sooo good. The service was fantastic. It’s very clean. I’ll definitely come back and I recommend you try this place!

This place is so delicious. Got this yellowtail slam roll. Also got their baked salmon with some masago added. I'm obsessed. Fish so fresh and delicious. 😍

I came here for the first time and thought it was a very clean restaurant. I ordered the chicken katsu with fried rice and the chicken katsu was perfectly crispy and so delicious. My friend got the sushi lunch, which came with sushi, a roll, miso soup, rice, and salad, such a great deal! I’ll definitely be back.

I am not sure what the other reviewers saw, but our experience here was disappointing. There are so many wonderful sushi places in this neighborhood. This one is priced the same, but the sushi just is not particularly good. There is little fish in the various rolls, and nothing really tasted that good anyway. The ambiance also was nothing like what the other reviews suggest. The place has a couple televisions playing, nothing particularly welcoming or fancy inside. For $20 per roll, you would be way better off at a dozen other sushi options locally. (And if you are willing to go over the hill, Ami Sushi is great sushi at lower prices, with much bigger and better portions.) I don't get it.

First time here and Brandon gave us such a warm welcome! He's super friendly and runs the place very professionally. The sushi is incredibly fresh thank you to Steve and Matthew for making everything so amazing. We tried the sashimi and it was amazing This place opened just a few months ago and caught my eye because of the name Aria which happens to be my son's name! I've been wanting to try it, and I'm so glad I finally did. Highly recommend this gem. Thank you to the entire Aria team!

Formerly Karma Sushi Bar, Aria is a recent addition to Ventura Blvd in the Sherman Oaks area. The carpaccio and crudo options are delish. I recommend the Hokkaido Scallop Carpaccio, Albacore Sashimi with Crispy Onion and Yellowtail Yuzu Sashimi. All great to share, and oh so fresh with delicious sauce and garnish. Service is efficient, the place is new and clean, and there's interior and exterior seating. As for the cons, their restroom sink was halfway flooded and they forgot one of our dishes. To their credit, they made efforts to make things right for us, which we truly appreciated. Parking is in the back (look for the Aria parking signs) or else you can find metered street parking out front.

The workers here are very kind and sweet. It made the whole experience much better to be frank. The fish itself was very fresh and melt in your mouth soft. The flavor was delicious and not fishy at all. The Ramen is actually very good as well, they make their noodles in house.

Great sushi spot for both lunch and dinner. Has a beautiful patio, indoor seating along with a sushi bar. Extensive menu and variety of rolls, specialty rolls, ramen, and more. There is parking available in the back. Inside is clean and the ambience is a vibe. Great of also catching the game as they have 5 large screen TVs inside. Perfect spot for meeting up with friends to catch a bite with. Service is wonderful and attentive.

This place is DELICIOUS! Ate at the sushi bar, had a great conversation with Steve. Wonderful fish. Nice and fresh. No overwhelming sauces just nice and balanced. Love this place. Services is nice and friendly.

I visited Sherman Oaks with my friends last week. I loved the clean and pretty Sushi Aria and the parking lot behind the restaurant. It's so hard to park in that area, but this place had great parking. The restaurant was so clean and the food was so delicious. I had a really nice dinner and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I would love to have a nice dinner here again. Go there once. I would give it the best rating.

Stumbled upon Aria on a Friday night in Sherman oaks and let's just say I was NOT disappointed! Their sashimi was very fresh and flavorful!! The chef was as so attentive and friendly he made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped in. Turns out it was their soft opening! We will definitely be coming back!

We've dined here 4 times in the past 6 weeks. Our absolute favorite new sushi restaurant, and we've tried many in the valley. Whether you want sushi, sashimi, and/or choosing from an extensive list of creative rolls, this is your place!!!

There has been a steady stream of sushi joints in and around this venue but it's like the finally got it right with Aria. The food is very fresh, and our server Brandon was very inviting and knowledgeable about the whole menu. We came here just to grab a drink and an appetizer, but couldn't help but stay for an early dinner. This place was gorgeous on one of the first days of spring. It was the perfect afternoon spot for a Saturday. I can't recommend it enough!

Varieties of roll and Sashimi option, sauce are tasty. They also have lunch menu and dinner menu. Great spot for family go.

Such a great experience - the food was delicious and service as first class. Recommend trying the 999 roll if you like spice and the Vegas roll if you like barbecue/ slightly sweet. Brandon served us and he was the best!

Food was ok. Service was great when we were the only ones here. Cute inside setting with a patio that is super cute too. Would come again, but wouldn't recommend modifying rolls. Rookie mistake.

Stopped by to check out what became of this spot after Karma and found Aria. Old fashioned Japanese spot with a very big list of rolls menu complete with pictures. They had one server working like a pinball in a half-full restaurant but he did a superb job being prompt and attentive. I had two of the sashimi appetizers in Albacore with onions and Yelllowtail with Yuzu along with Dragonfly and Marilyn Mon-Roll, all from the server's recommendations. He really raved about the quality of their yellowtail and it did not disappoint! Overall vibe of the restaurant is welcoming and a couple of families dining at the same time seemed to be having a ton of fun with their kids being entertained by the server. I am definitely coming back for some of the recommendations my stomach could not cash in this time around. And oh, there is a free parking behind the restaurant so don't pay for parking on Ventura!

We love this new sushi restaurant! The fish was fresh and they had so many rolls and menu options to choose from! The service is outstanding, friendly and responsive. Plenty of parking in the back. The inside is modern and comfortable. We can't wait to go back!

This place was disappointing. The sushi is not particularly tasty, the portions of fish are small, and the ambiance is pretty minimal. I don't know what the other reviewers see here. There are much better options for sushi in the area at this price range.

Awesome new sushi spot. Went here this weekend for lunch with friends. Service was excellent and the food was incredible. Everything was fresh and so flavorful. They had many options, and everything we tried was amazing. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

Aria sushi is truly my favorite sushi spot in Sherman Oaks. The food is fantastic and the service is unmatched - we love this place and come once a week!! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Meh. A step up from the sushi at the supermarket. Nothing special at all. Not very interesting menu and the fish has almost no flavor. I would not recommend.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is terrific. Our server was fabulous - so attentive and accommodating in everyway. We ordered a combination dinner with salmon teriyaki and sushi. It was fresh and delicious and came on a timely basis. Nice ambiance and reasonable prices.

Went to Aria for the first tonight and sat at the Sushi bar. Very good food! The sashimi combo was excellent and flavorful. We also had a couple rolls which were extremely fresh and tasty. The prices are quite reasonable and the vibe is unpretentious and friendly. Will definitely go back as it's affordable and pretty close too.

Our server was so accommodating and the sushi was very good. They were happy to adjust rolls for us and had the cutest kids meal tray for a 1 year old in our party.

I came here with my wife the other day and I ordered the sushi dinner and sashimi sampler. The fish was very fresh and the quality of service was great! The price wasn't too bad for the quality of food and friendly staff. I will be dining here again soon.

Guys.... This was a 10/10 for my fiancé and I. I'm a little bit of a sushi snob and this place blew me away! The homemade eel sauce (they make all of their sauces in house) to the chefs albacore everything was perfection. Oh and we order 6 different items from the menu and they all were top notch! Go and see Brandon who was the best server! His energy was contagious!

I came here today with my wife. The service was great. The restaurant is clean and has a nice ambience. The albacore sushi roll was fresh and very tasty. My wife got the chicken skewers. Will be back again to try some other rolls.

Food was great and so was the service. It was more on the quiet side being a Monday. Brandon, chef and waiter, was good and felt like he could talk hang with any topic we brought up.

I stopped by on a whim with a friend early Saturday evening, and I can confidently say this was some of the best sushi I've ever had. The service was outstanding, the fish was exceptionally fresh, and the flavors were both complex and perfectly balanced. You really can't go wrong here. Whether you're ordering appetizers, classic rolls, or sashimi, every bite is a hit. Everything we tried was flawless. Since this is a new spot in the area, do yourself--and them--a favor by checking it out!

Service was disappointing as it kind of felt like the waiter didn't really wanna be there right now. My miso soup was luke warm. And the sushi I ordered kind of had a weird taste to it. Ambiance inside was lackluster. There's too many really good sushi places in the valley to compete with without bringing your A game. I would not recommend this place.

I had ordered the Yellowtail Yuzu Sashimi and the 911 roll and it was an amazing experience. The ambiance, the service, the sushi chefs everything was very enjoyable. Will be dining here again soon

Sushi is good. I would come back if I am looking for something local. The atmosphere is whatever. But the service was good. Same menu pretty much as cho Cho San which is their sister restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food! Got the bulgogi, miso soup, and vegetable tempura, was some of the best tasting food I've had from a sushi restaurant. Also, the service was wonderful! Our servers checked up on us frequently, making sure that everything was tasting good and if we needed refills. Would definitely recommend!
