NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"There’s a new all-day spot on the ground floor of the Empire State Building. It’s from the team behind The Izakaya and the now-closed Gouie, and it’s currently open until 3pm, serving Japanese omelet and kaisen don lunch sets, for $24 and $45 respectively. They also have sushi rolls and a variety of onigiri, available in breakfast sets that come with pickles, miso soup, and two sides." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

I ordered the omakase dinner, and it was an incredible experience. The Japanese chef prepared and served everything right in front of us at the counter—it was both entertaining and deeply impressive. Every bite was delicious, and the staff were kind and friendly. I’ve had many omakase sushi before, but this place truly stands out. Highly recommended! I’ll definitely be back!

Authentic flavors! I’m from Japan and rarely find sushi abroad that feels truly Japanese, but Sushi Beauu impressed me. The lunch special, especially the dashimaki omelette, was perfectly balanced and delicious—just like back home.

Lovely staff and Japanese teishoku (set meals). They are doing their soft opening so just the lunch sets and onigiri for now. Miso soup was delicious - made with mushroom and kombu dashi so sage for vegans too. Everything was simple but flavorful. I loved the open kitchen!

Google
Favorite spot for a casual lunch, and also great if you want a quiet dinner in a chill atmosphere. So happy to have a place in nyc where I can enjoy tamagoyaki for breakfast. I’d love to try their omakase sushi dinner next time…!

Google
While looking for a quick snack, I popped into Sushi Beauu for some Nigiri. I ended up ordering 2 pieces of Nigiri, one salmon and the other tuna. Both were prepared right in front of me in a quick and efficient manner. While it was clear that this restaurant was going through the growing pains of being a new, I think this spot has a bright future.

Google
Absolutely phenomenal! Sushi Beauu might just serve some of the best sushi I’ve ever had — possibly even better than some of the sushi we had in Japan! Every piece was incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. The udon was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor — an absolute must-try. On top of that, the service was fantastic — attentive, warm, and genuine from start to finish. This spot is a true gem in NYC. I can’t wait to come back!

Google
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place. I came in the morning and ordered the breakfast set, which includes rice, soup, a main, and small side dishes. The omelet was fluffy, the miso soup delicious, and I’m glad I upgraded with roe...it made the whole meal feel extra special. The staff, especially the hostess, was extremely welcoming and kind. Surprisingly, the place hasn’t been discovered by many people yet, but it probably will soon given its central location.

Was taken aback by our experience here. We randomly stumbled into this mostly empty place for a light bite and were met with a wonderful, authentic dinner. We were honestly a little suspicious at first sight with how quiet it was, but ended up adding more and more orders of sashimi as the night progressed. The fish was very fresh, served at the perfect temperature, and cut to the right thickness. The udon was so good; the broth and the tempura were incredible. You can definitely see the dedication they have to their craft. Learned they opened not too long ago. Overall super glad we gave this place a shot.

Yelp
6/5 stars - I dined alone on Friday evening after attempting 2 other sushi restaurants for dinner. However when I called Sushi Beauu, there seems to be the last spot just calling my name! I was greeted pleasantly by everyone and sat at the sushi counter (my favorite place to be). During this time the restaurant was providing a complimentary yellowtail (Buri) nigiri and sake to customers to learn about Toyama! Mmmm!!! It was so delicious. I proceeded to order the "chef sushi 5 set plate" which came with sea bream, salmon, fatty tuna, tuna and shrimp. Wasabi and ginger were fresh and had a bit of a kick! I followed that meals with some miso soup and paired it with the first sake that was on the menu. I wish I took a picture of what it was called! I loved it and want to know! Overall, fish really melted in your mouth and especially coming from Seattle where i tend to brag we have amazingly fresh, high quality fish! But Sushi Beauu is up there! The miso was one of the best I've had with tofu skin, daikon and carrots. The sushi was so good I even ordered an extra order of sea bream nigiri to finish my night! Although service was a bit lacking at the start (not provided chopstick rest, wet nap or napkin but staff was quick to notice and provide amazing service! Chef Remi was so kind and made my night. she was thankful for my patience and checked in to make sure I was enjoying my meal. It really touched me and made me feel so welcomed. I even received a complimentary rice cracker snack for the road! So sweet. I can't wait to come back and bring others to experience the food, service and ambience of Sushi Beauu. My hats are off to the incredible chefs, managemenf and staff! Arigato.

Yelp
We dined for dinner on 12/3. Reasonably priced for quality fish but very shitty and hostile service. Id wish we left and ate at Mc Donald's. The service ruined our experience. When asked about "assorted fish", was responded with "if you can read... it says on the menu... assorted fish. That's what you will get" Very rude and condescending on multiple accounts. Clarified by asking what kind of fish and he said "luxurious"... ok .. but what kinds? Also asked for no wasabi due to a severe allergy and he says "I don't think we have that" and proceeds to serve the kaisen bowl with wasabi. When addressed, he hands us a spoon to "figure it out"... ok... We also ordered botan ebi "sashimi" but it was served cooked. When asked about this, server was defensive and said "when have you had it raw" and I responded "100% of the time in both New York and Japan" and he says "well too bad, this is how we do it here. This is not Japan" And we said "Sashimi is raw, it is under the sashimi section on your menu." He then asked if we still wanted it and we agreed to have it removed and to our surprise, he responded "too bad. You ordered it" and left the table. It's comical and hard to believe that these were the exact words spoken. Rude, dismissive, argumentative, and extremely poor hospitality. It didn't help that he was often hovering over our table and eavesdropping on our conversations while our glasses were empty. Weird. Then he would loudly talk about us to the other patrons and chefs for us to hear. It was truly awful and difficult to enjoy. We did not have a good time. Rather disturbing and disgusting attitude for a human. Despite the delicious meal, we will NEVER return nor recommend this restaurant to my locals nor tourists.

Yelp
If you're searching for an authentic Japanese dining experience that feels like a trip straight to Tokyo, Beauu Sushi in the Empire State Building is it. From the moment you sit at the intimate wooden counter, you're treated not just to incredible food, but to genuine Japanese hospitality that's increasingly rare to find. The star of the meal was the tamagoyaki--a perfectly layered, slightly sweet Japanese omelet, made right before my eyes. Watching the chef expertly roll each delicate layer on the tamago pan was mesmerizing, and the result was unbelievably light, fluffy, and flavorful. Paired with freshly grated daikon, a steaming bowl of miso soup, and a side of perfectly cooked rice, it felt like a true home-style Japanese breakfast prepared with care. Every side dish was spot-on: from the crisp pickled vegetables to the small bites of salmon roe and seasoned greens. The ingredients tasted fresh and balanced, never overpowering, letting each flavor shine on its own. The setting is cozy and authentic--minimalist yet warm, with the chef personally preparing dishes just a few feet away. You can tell this place prioritizes craftsmanship and authenticity over flash. It's the kind of restaurant where time slows down, and every bite reminds you of the beauty of simple, well-prepared food. Whether you're a sushi lover or just appreciate authentic Japanese cuisine, Beauu Sushi is an unforgettable culinary experience that captures the essence of Japan right in the heart of New York City.

Yelp
First time here. The fish for the salmon roll is not very appealing. Service was fast. But not thrilled with the quality of the salmon.

Yelp
Overall: okay sushi but not worth the price. Ambience (3/5): Clean and minimal, nothing special but comfortable for a quick lunch. Food (3/5): Sushi quality was average Value (2/5): $25 for a lunch roll set with the tiniest slices of fish (see picture)

Yelp
The space and setup at Sushi Beauu is pretty nice. The sushi and sashimi are pretty decent, but pricier than I'd expect. The lunch combos are okay and would benefit if more variety or flexibility is permitted.

Yelp
Overall: C // 3 stars Restaurant in Manhattan focusing on Japanese breakfast, which is a food category in which I greatly enjoy. Unfortunately, I just found it to be quite mid and pricey for the content. (Salmon Ikura Don: C) - Aesthetic Japanese breakfast, but unfortunately I don't think there's much substance to the bowl as there are only about five slices of salmon and 2 ounces of ikura for $38. At this price point, other restaurants offer either higher quality fish that is glisteningly fresh and/or in higher quantities. Yelp
sushi Beauu is located at the Empire State Building, offering morning onigiri and a morning menu, in addition to a lunch set (aka, Empire LUNCH). We picked up: +the Chicken Rice onigiri - prepared with a simmered Fukuoka-style chicken with burdock root, carrots, soy sauce, and sugar +a Mentaiko - filled with a spicy cod roe +a Beef Shigureni onigiri - prepared with simmered beef in a housemade sweet soy glaze, onions, soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar I would be interested in returning and trying out their lunch sets, such as the kaisen don (with sashimi over sushi rice). The menu itself is cute and simplistic, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A great stop for a snack or a meal, if you're in the area. +onigiris +lunch sets available +friendly staff & service +located at the Empire State Building

Yelp
It was my kid who first noticed this wonderful, intimate little restaurant at the foot of the Empire State Building as we were hurrying past. We stopped in for takeout rice balls, which were exquisite and delicious. He had the beef, and I had the salmon, both of which were warm and a perfect balance of umami, starch and salt. We've returned for takeout but will have to stop by and sample some of their other menu offerings, which look absolutely fantastic. The service was lovely, too, with the host offering us a table to wait for our to-go order.

Yelp
SO wonderful. We got to go for their dinner opening and every single dish was so exquisitely excuted. My favorite was the scallop sashimi, so fresh. The ambiance was also perfect - a peaceful reprieve in the heart of midtown. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Sushi Beauu can be easily missed, but it is tucked inside the first floor of the Empire Stare building. Staff were super welcoming and they only serve breakfast onigiris and cute lunch sets for now. Love the open kitchen concept because you can see the chefs work their magic. Cant wait to come back again to try their omakase.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my breakfast set here. Fully omelet. Great miso soup. I upgraded and added the roe, making the whole breakfast extra special. The staff was extremely welcoming and nice. The place wasn't busy at all but probably will be when more people discover it's mid-town, in the Empire State Building!
