Second time coming here - Rachel was our host and she was attentive, sweet, and was definitely a plus to our experience. Sam was our chef, and we couldn’t have asked for a better chef! He was really nice to speak to, respectful, very knowledgeable about the fish when we asked questions, and making sure we were satisfied and indeed we were!! Exceptional service & fish.

My favorite omakase place thus far!!! Been here 3 times and all my friends that I brought loved it as well. Chef Kin made our experience so exquisite. Def will be coming back! Came back again and wanted to praise Chef Sam! After a disappointing experience in Times Square location, I wanted to show my bf the experience I always had in Bayside. He was very welcoming and accommodating. He took his time to explain the whole process to my bf who is new to omakase and we both loved it. Everyone at the bayside location is professional and very accommodating. Much appreciated!!!

Amazing omakase-- with a small group and attentive sushi chef. The fish and wagyu were fresh and delicious! The back area was more for tapas like croquettes and seasoned edamames. The cocktails (esp the jalapeno strawberry margaritas) were so good that I had to order 2 more! And I'm not a cocktail kinda girl :)

We love coming here, Sam the chef is the best!!! he does magic with the sushi pieces, everything is very fresh and well balanced making us enjoy the food, ambience and the drink every time we come here.

Like other sushi by bou locations in the city, the Bayside location is also a speakeasy style behind a Greek restaurant. I’ve been to other omakase spots in the city, but this was my first time at Sushi By Bou and first omakase in Queens. Being in Queens, the place was very spacious with a separate bar and long seating area which is great for if you arrive early and the group before isn’t done yet. The bar offers a great selection of cocktails (and mocktails!). The bar counter during omakase sat around 8 people and it felt a little cramped being shoulder to shoulder with other diners, while the chef had to reach pretty far to get to my area in the corner. I was initially disappointed by how small the pieces were but remembered it was only $50 for 12 pieces, so not bad at all - you get what you pay for.

My first omakase experience and it was so good! Every single sushi was delicious-seriously. Every single bite was so flavorful and you just want to savor every bit. I honestly was very sad with each bite knowing I had one less piece to eat. We also added the big Mac at the end and my goodness. It's the mother of all sushi. It's a must try at a very affordable for omakase standard pricing.

Fantastic Omakase experience. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! Tucked behind a little greek restaurant we walked in and were sat quickly. This was my boyfriends first Omakase experience so Rachael and Chef Lee really made it special. The place is gorgeous and we made sure to take some photos with the "don't forget where you came from" sign. We got the bougie option which was 17-courses plus a handroll and a shot of sake for $100 per person. Every piece was extremely fresh and delicious. Mazin explained the barkeeps cocktail special to us and we were sold, it was delicious and very instagram worthy! When we were finished Rachael got us a table in their backyard and the vibes were immaculate. Super cute forest vibes with hanging Japanese umbrella's. The happy hour was still going on so we sat down and got some more amazing drinks from the bartender Erika, and played some games like connect 4 and Jenga. We were having so much fun so we invited our friends to come hangout with us. While my boyfriend and I were stuffed, our friends got the $3 chicken skewers which they said were amazing. They have a whole separate menu out there which we'll be back to try. Overall, a great edition to the neighborhood with such friendly staff, we can't wait to go back!

This place just opened it but it was so good!! Mind you, it's inside a restaurant on Bell, but it felt initmate and cozy. The sushi was fresh, and every piece was carefully crafted. They even provided a shot of saki at the end of the experience. If you're looking for an omasake experience, this place is great!

My husband and I came here opening weekend! I've been to the Sushi by Bou at the Flatiron location but this was an omakase speakeasy experience tucked behind a bar in the heart of Bayside. I was so happy they came to Queens so I had to try! We had a 10p reservation and walked in around 9:50p. At first it was a little all over the place with a lot of people just shuffling around. As we waited for the earlier reservation to finish, we sat by the booths off to the side and ordered drinks. I got the Yuzu honey bee $17 and my husband ordered the old fashion $17. Both were delicious. We were eventually seated around 10:15p. We booked the 1-hr experience 12 course for $60 and ordered an additional Big Mac for $18 which has uni, toro, scallop, and wagyu but they ran out of slices of wagyu so they had to give this to us in a handroll. This was all my favorites in one bite and it was freakin' delicious! It sounds like a lot of ingredients but it honestly works! The sushi was very comparable to the Sushi by Bou in the city but I do think each piece were slightly smaller. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the food and the ambience. At some moments, the music can get really loud and the space is pretty tight so would recommended going here with someone you don't mind sitting very closely to. After the 12 course is finished, they ask if you want to any additional pieces and shortly after you are kind of rushed out of the eating area. If you still had a full drink, they would ask you to move to the booth area while they clean/set up for the next reservation. I do think they should allocate like 10-15mins extra between each reservation for themselves cause it all seemed kind of rushed. It is also a little overwhelming with the amount of people that come into the eating area from the front of the bar during our meal. However, it was their opening weekend so I'm sure they are still working out the kinks. I will for sure be coming back if I'm ever craving a quick omakase fix.

Sushi by bou, does decent albeit uninspiring and boring omakase. Ingredients they use are okay not extremely fresh nor are they particularly bad, but at this price point I guess that should be the expectation. Would love more creatively with the creations since freshness and quality of the ingredients are not what's being showcased here. Either way not a bad spot in a jam

We wanted to come here to try out the new sushi by bou spot. I enjoyed the sushi and it definitely felt fresh but I would say the fish had very small pieces. Despite me being a pretty small eater to start with, I was still hungry afterwards. We did get the standard omakase, so maybe that's a contributing factor, but the premium omakase is only a few pieces more. The biggest pro was that we loved the marinated shrimp and so we ordered another piece for a fair price, so I'm glad that's an option.

I came here during opening weekend and was not disappointed! The vibe is amazing and I love the backroom, disco decor. The space itself is pretty large for being in the back of another restaurant. I also like that there's space for people to chill and have a drink. It's very reminiscent of Sushi Suite in the city. We had the pleasure of dining with Chef Kin. He made sure we were comfortable and not rushed. I know the 30 minute seatings at the regular Sushi by Bou in the city can feel too rushed, but the hour + seating here is just right. We opted for the $60 set and each piece was perfectly presented. The cocktails went really well with the sushi and I'm glad they kept some of their popular ones from the city. The staff here, from the hostesses to the bartender is outstanding. Our seating was a little delayed and they made sure we were taken care of and always had a drink while we waited. I'm so excited to come back to try the $120 set!

Great service, fresh sushi and yummy drinks! I had a mocktail and the husband got a couple cocktails. Everything was good and the pacing of the pieces didn't feel rushed even though we got the 18 piece course and added the Big Mac!

Great omakase dining experience here! I got a gift card for my birthday and tonight my husband and I made a last minute reservation for dinner at the Bell Blvd location. We got seated right away and it wasn't busy yet, so we had a nice chill experience. We did the standard omakase experinece, which is 12 pieces and was perfect for us. It would definitely be worth the update to the bougie 17 piece experience, if anyone is on the fence! We had yellow tail, scallop, lean tuna, maguro, seared albacore, salmon roe, prawn, salmon, surf and turf (seared wagyu and uni), miso cod, seared fatty tuna with truffle salt, and unagi. All was delish, our favorite bites were the albacore and fatty tuna. We also tried one of the suntory cocktails - citrus - which was refreshing. We enjoyed chatting with our sushi chef and hearing more about the different fish cuts. Love a good omakase experience, don't snooze on this one! Fun speakeasy vibes don't hurt.

The sushi was fine and my party of three was enjoying a relaxing night out. When the check came at the end of our dinner, we knew there was something wrong with it. Our waitress, Rachael H, overcharged us. It was brought to her attention, in which she apologized and she said she had charged us the non-happy hour prices for our drinks. Fine. She seemingly corrected our bill but pulled a slick one by "comping" our happy hour drinks while adding them into our check. (She also did this with our free rounds of sake-- one of them is promoted on their website.) This brought up our subtotal before the "discounts" so that we ended paying more gratuity compared to the previous bill. (The tip is calculated off the "pre-discount subtotal".) We would not have caught this if my husband didn't ask for the itemized bill because it simply did not add up. She tried to tell him that there wasn't a way to get the bill printed but ended up giving him the voided and the "actual" bill, in which you can see exactly what she did. Earlier in the night, she even made a comment to the chef after he told her to give us a free round of shots to celebrate my belated birthday. We ended up not causing a scene but left knowing we would never return. Honestly, this behavior was pitiful and petty. This experience ruined my whole perception of Sushi by Bou, having been to multiple locations and never having an issue. I would advise everyone to avoid dining here.

I've been to many locations in the city and this location was just as good. Hidden behind another bar/restauraunt, the sushi bar apart feels like a speakeasy. My gf and I got the bougie combo and it was good. I love the taste of the quality fish however Sushi by Bou seemed to add a ton of toppings on each piece that drowns out most of the other flavors. I'd consider this a starter or budget friendly omakase bar! The service and wait staff were amazing. I'll come back for omakase cravings on a budget

Sushi by Bou is proof that you don't need to break the bank to have a great omakase experience. Located in the back of a Greek cafe, you'll get a fast paced but excellent meal for an incredibly reasonable price. We came and got the larger tasting menu. Every bite was fresh and excellent and the chef was super friendly and engaging. The meal went by quickly but it was delicious. Cocktails were also well done too. Not much I can add other than 2 thumbs up.

Firs time omakase person and really enjoyed everything. What a experience to watch each item being made. Like that it's quick (one hour) so expense can be kept down. Ambiance is chic, Sat Night Fever vibe. Not sure how that is Japanese but it worked.

Drinks and attention to service was amazing but the omakase was just plain wrong. I wanted to stop the whole thing at the first bite but the seats were all filled and I didn't want to be the one to ruin the night for everyone else. The rice they used was either overcooked or the wrong type all together. It was mushy and had no body. It was so sour with vinegar it nearly burned the tastebuds off my tongue. I thought maybe I'm just being overly sensitive but you definitely can recognize too sour when the first reaction is a squint. The wagyu Uni piece was the most underwhelming piece. The wagyu was overcooked and tasteless. The Uni crunched with sand and was a deflated mustard yellow blob with barely any body. The truffle shavings on top of one of the pieces, did not smell of truffle at all. We were a group of 5 and all of us were very confused by that piece. While the sushi preparer tried his best to be professional going through the motions of a traditional omakase, he honestly did not seem to be an expert or someone who trained in this profession at all. It would have been on him to know the quality of the food we were being served. Having paid $285 for a single meal I would have at least reserved the opportunity to give some honest feedback but the response to my feedback of "it was okay" was "great! what was your favorite?" I can't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone.

Great Omakase at a decent price, 12 pieces for $60! Also ordered a sake for about $100 and tried the cocktails too! The decor is very cute and staff super friendly! Was celebrating mother in laws bday and got a 5pm reservation, after the omakase was done, I wanted extra and was very looking forward to trying the hot honey salmon which was written on the board. They said wasn't available anymore which was lil disappointing but overall great experience!

The omakase round begins when all diners for the time of the seating have arrived. Sushi chef served us directly at the sushi counter, guiding us through the meal, providing a truly exclusive experience. Sushi was fresh, tasty, well presented. Restaurant was cozy, city vibes, loved the decor. Good value for the quality of sushi and experience. Parking is annoying. Have to look for a spot on the local streets. #highlyrecommended

Sushi by Bou has a lot of promise and potential. it appears this place is a pop-up in the back of the Greek restaurant/bar. The service was excellent and the omakase style sushi overall was pretty good. But there is so much more room for improvement. Our servers Rachel and Fernando made sure our glasses would never empty and was always there when we needed them. The sushi chefs were also very good as they tried to explain the type of fish they were serving. Unfortunately most of the time we couldn't hear them because of the very loud music. The music was nice but it didn't match the environment. The other issue is we felt we were very rushed and our assumption was proven true when the next group came practically when we had our last bite. We couldn't savor the sushi and chat with our peers about it. I get it, time is money. Good sushi + mediocre ambiance = average experience. My only...and only reason for coming back is because of the friendly staff. Oh...I also didn't like the fact that they charge a cake fee of $5 per head. I hate...HATE cake/cork fees. Just let us celebrate! Stop nickel and diming! Update: In response to Tashi Y, business owner, just because other restaurants charge a cork/cake fee does not mean you have to. And because of this mentality is why I left a 3 star instead of a strong 4 star. And let's be honest, does the cork/cake fee really go to the waiter? And extra labor and dishes? Really??? Please don't respond again, I've updated my rating.

My coworker told me about this gem in our neighborhood and we had to try it. We love Omakase and the Bougie menu at $100 was reasonable! Each piece was so delicious and prepared right in front of us by Chef Lee. My only gripe is because of the closely reserved time slots, we felt a bit rushed. I like to savor each piece but even before I finished chewing, the next piece was already on my plate. We didn't get the free sake either and I forgot to ask but we ordered our own bottle. (I think I read that the bougie menu has sake?) Service was stellar! The cute outdoor space looked inviting and fun. Would love to check out that space some day. I think next time we will try sitting at the regular seats so we can take our time enjoying each piece even though it's a more personal experience at the sushi bar.

I've been the original location in Manhattan a few times. So glad that they opened a location closer to me. Definitely didn't disappoint! Opted for the standard omakase to try for $60. Each piece was delicious, nothing was fishy at all. Make sure to get their big mac piece! It is not part of the omakase but you get uni, wagyu, scallop and toro in one bite. So good! Don't forget use their promo code on their website when booking your reservation. We got 20% off our tab!! Amazing deal. Great service and ambiance as well! Would def come back for the "Bougie" Omakase.

Sushi by Bou is sushi speakeasy specializing in omakase. I've been to Sushi by Bou a couple of times in the city, first time in this location. This location is located inside the Greek Restaurant/bar/lounge Baraki in Bayside. The place is not hard to find, parking on the other hand can be a challenge especially on Bell blvd on the weekends. The place looks gorgeous and nicely decorated on the inside with lots of glass, mirrors and natural lighting. The hostess was very nice and welcomed us the moment we were in the restaurant. Once it was time for seating, the hostess sat the parties based on the omakase selection (either the Standard Omakase 12pc or the Bougie Omakase 17pc). The square shaped bar dining area seats around 8 and it could be a bit tight if you are sitting in the mid-section area, but luckily I got a seat by the edge. We opted for the 12-course standard omakase and got 2 drinks. Btw they do have a very good drink selections ranging from cocktails to highballs to non-alcoholic beverages, I got the Galaxy Sparkling Yuzu Lemonade and it was deliciously refreshing and pretty to look at. Overall, all the sushi were super fresh and delicious. Our favorite pieces were the scallop (Hotate), the fatty tuna (Toro) and the surf and turf (Wagyu and Uni). I especially appreciate that the sushi rice is not overly sour from the rice vinegar. In terms of timing I do agree with some of the Yelp reviews here that the 60 minutes (realistically around 45minutes since it took time for everyone to get seated) felt a little rushed but I also do understand that not everyone has the time to sit and do dinner for more than an hour. During my dining experience, there was minimal interaction with the sushi chef beside the chef introducing the nigiri pieces. Price was very reasonable, our standard omakase with 12 pieces was $60 which is very competitive in comparison with other omakase places especially when the quality of sushi of this place is so high. In my view, some of the drinks were priced a bit high, the two special drinks were $20, if you think about it- 12-piece omakase was $60, the special drink would've been 1/3 the price of that, in that case I think I would have prefer to put in an extra $40 for the 17 piece course instead- just my 2 cents. From a big eater perspective, you are not going to be full from 12 pieces so you might have to opt in for the 17 pieces for $100 or pregame before coming. Overall, I like Sushi by Bou especially now that it's in Queens (so much closer to home!). The food was fresh, high quality and delicious, service was excellent and the price point was very reasonable for a 12-course omakase. It's a chill no frill kind of experience I would recommend to anyone, just make sure you tell them it's mostly raw food and I'm sure everyone will have a great time.

We came during opening week and was lucky to get a slot at the last seating. I have been to sushi by bou at other locations before and was glad they opened up one near my home in queens!!! First of all the decor was very nice and it felt like I was walking into a club. The restaurant is hidden in the back of a Greek restaurant. We came early so we could start drinking and they let us know early on that they were running a few minutes late. This was fine as they gave us complementary sake while we waited. Also the music selection was great and before we knew it they were asking us to be seated. The sushi was amazing as always from any sushi by bou I've been too. Tonight was especially special because we had chef Kin who gets all the new sushi by bous up and running. He was entertaining friendly and most of all an amazing sushi chef. Can't wait to be back!! I was able to get a reservation of 8 to close out a slot with my friends.

For $60, the omakase was worth it. The drinks were tasty as well however keep in mind it's a 1 hour seating.

We made reservations for 12 courses and was forced to paid for 17 courses without any notice. When I explained, I was just told it was open table's problems. They should confirm with every party which package we are there for to avoid errors. As for the food, not worth the upgrade so don't do it. Sushi on me is 100 times getter

Come with me and my family to this hidden omakase place called Sushi by Bou in Bayside, New York. You can find it at the back of another Greek restaurant. For drinks we had the Galaxy Sparkling Yuzu Lemonade and the Kyusho Cove. Both were so pretty and refreshing! We got the standard omakase menu which consisted of Hamachi, Akami, Botan Ebi, Ikura, Bincho, Maguro, Scallop, Miso Cod, Toro, Salmon, Wagyu Uni, and the Unagi. At the end, we decided to order one more Toro Handroll each and that was definitely my favorite! My sister wanted to try their famous Big Mac sushi and was not disappointed. There was wagyu, scallop, toro, and uni involved. We finished off with some complimentary sake at the bar. Overall, we had a great omakase experience and the restaurant had amazing vibes, but I wish the wagyu was a bit better quality. I also wish we had a bit more time, instead of being rushed out.

Service is great from the moment you walk in to when your done. We booked in advance as weekends gets busy and we were seated on time. We opted for the "bougie " menu for $100pp and it did not disappoint. We were quite full by the end of the meal. If you arrive early grab a drink while you wait as you should not be late. Their drinks are absolutely delicious..including thru non alcoholic Yuzu lemonade. It's a timed seating so you can't relax and have a 2hr meal but rather get it done in an hour. They did offer for us to go outside after our meal to their backyard terrace which was really pretty..so you can linger ne have drinks if you chose to. The fish and preparation by chef Shan Lee was on point. He describes each sushi and everything was fresh. No surprise but fatty tuna, uni , scallop and Wagyu with uni were my favorites. I'm definitely coming back. This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood

Simply amazing is the best phrase I could use. Literally the ingredients are fairly simple for most of the selections but such fresh quality ingredients. I had never had raw botan ebi, it was phenomenal. Plump and sweet. They we're running about half an hour behind but we sat in the back patio which was giving jungly forest vibes and got a couple drinks which blew us away! The presentation was so cute and the bartender was so sweet and friendly. Actually, the entire staff was really courteous. The omakase is a 12 course experience for $60. It was truly so worth it. Watching how fast the sushi chefs prepare each course is quite the sight. I couldn't take my eyes off it. The hotate and wagyu uni were also top contenders. They were running about half an hour behind but you can't rush quality and with their friendly staff, amazing drinks, and out of this world experience we didn't even care. Run don't walk

A hidden omakase gem in bayside queens. Limited seating up to 8 per booking making it an intimate and exclusive experience. Upon arrival, they have a beautiful area in the back. Our sushi chef, JJ, and bartender provided an immaculate service. Highly recommend coming Sundays for JJ as he elevated our omakase experience.

I love sushi and love the intimacy of omakase. Ambience was great and well priced at $60 per person for the standard omakase (12 pieces). Keep in mind the seating by the sushi chefs only hold about maybe 10 people so not ideal for a large group (now I know why when I tried to make reservations for a group of 7 in the past, I had difficulty and it didn't happen). The fish was fresh and the rice was well cooked. The omakase sushi and any add on hand rolls are on the smaller side. While waiting to be seated, my group had drinks on the side tables. The bartender was friendly and made good drinks. He recommended a guava mojito daily special and I requested a mocktail to be made with vodka. When we got our bill at the end of dinner, the guava mojito and the mocktail with vodka were $20 when all the cocktails on the list were $17. Something to keep in mind. I found it steep for the area. I also sort of have this pet peeve of businesses that ask for 5 star reviews and in turn they will give you something. At the end of the dinner, the hostess gave out a coupon and if you rated the business well on Yelp, you get a free handroll on the next visit. Seems like it can skew a review. For small portions, sort of rushed dinner, steep drink pricing and asking for a positive review- I give this 3 stars.

Paid for the premium (bougie) omakase and thought the taste was great. However, for a 100 per person price tag, there weren't any premium pieces in the meal so i kind of felt like it was a sushi love boat served individually with a touch of torch. Service was excellent but the music was a little overwhelming. This venue has a lot of goods but needs to fine tune a little.

When I first went into the restaurant we went towards the back waiting for our turn at the sushi bar. The ambiance was very beautiful I like the dark ambiance giving off a very relaxed and hip environment. They give u many options for drinks when you are waiting. The wait is definitely worth it because once seated the many rounds of sushi were all delish and beautiful. The service is pretty great and tending to every one of your needs.

Went here to celebrate our 1yr together anniversary with my boyfriend. It was my first omakase experience and I felt the food and drinks were just okay. I definitely got full from the course (surprisingly) but did not really enjoy the experience. My boyfriend has had omakase many times in the city and even the sushi by bou in the city which he said was good but not one of the best he's had. This time, we opted for somewhere close to home. However, he was also very disappointed with the quality of the fish and overall experience. He said he'd rank this place towards the bottom of the list. I would stick to going to the city for omakase. Service was great though.

Amazing "WoW" omakase for this semi-hidden neighborhood speakeasy. Thank you for offering this cool city vibe experience in Bayside. Fish was fresh and taste was a pleasure to our palate. We do wish it was a little longer than a 60 minute seating. It felt a tad rushed. We were accommodated at another table away from the sushi bar to enjoy a few more delicious cocktails and dessert. A must try! Tiny 8 seater Omakase hidden behind a Greek wine bar. Very trendy, city vibe with great service to match.

Surprised to find a city restaurant in Bayside. Small little space but well managed. I never thought I will be able to eat in 60min but the sushi chef made it happen. Had 12 course Omakase plus one extra Toro Hand Roll with two glasses of Ginjo Sake. All the sushi tasted fresh and delicious except the wagyu can be a little better quality. Felt a little rushed out at the end of the dinner but the service was still very professional.

We booked a party of 7 for our friend's birthday at 9pm on a Friday night. We arrived on time and was told it be a 15mins wait. That's fine we'll just hang out and wait.... until your 15-minute wait turns into a 45 minute wait and the party ahead of you still wasn't done. The wait staff here do not care. No matter how good I've heard this sushi can be it's not worth being disrespected. There's 2 more omakase options in the area all with good reviews. The staff didnt apologize and could not care less if we stayed or left. This has left such a bad impression for sushi by bou.

I really wanted to like this place as me and my wife came to celebrate our anniversary, but unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The fish was of good(about average) quality, with standouts being the hamachi, ebi shrimp, toro handroll and sea bream, however the rice was way too vinegary and some pieces were overly salty for my taste. Also the ratio of rice to fish in some pieces seemed to be off. All in all, the pieces were fairly small as compared to other omakase I've had, with about average quality and taste.

Made a reservation for Saturday night. They moved it to Friday without telling me and then texted me to accuse me of being late. Sent a screenshot of my emails with Conor which confirmed my reservation for Saturday. Also have it on OpenTable. So then they asked if I could come at a different time on Saturday. I agreed and then they said that slot was filled, but could I come at 10pm?? Or 2 weeks later?! Seriously ??

Amazing place ! Rachael is the best so welcoming will come back for her alone!!! Food and drinks are amazing 10/10 can't wait to come for Omakase!

Not a fan. The overall product is underwhelming from an experience or value standpoint. I was intrigued by the speakeasy-ish format but it felt like they recycled the back of a mafia social club. When you have omakase, you think, minimalist Zen decor, instead we get repurposed 80s bar - think Goodfellas with neon signs. The last time I had good quality sushi at the bar, the chef got pissed at me for talking to him. Little did I know he was a purist and if he had to respond to me verbally, it meant he'd risk spitting on my food. Good thing I didn't ask for soy sauce. The chefs here were like hair stylists after getting the short end of a divorce settlement - they could not stop talking. They were also clearly undertrained as they did not seem to know the subtle differences in the fish being served and quite robotic vs artistic. The food - let's pause and allow me to remind you this is $100 per person, not problem but show us some love. The 13 pc meal left me wanting a bucket of fried chicken on the way home. The pieces were the size of tootsie rolls -all pre-cut and possibly weighted to the milligram. The rice felt like it came off the conveyor belt. Plus, it was served cold, not room temperature that omakase quality sushi is to be served. The variety is also nothing special and can be had any decent sushi spot. The 2 star is for the staff, they were patient and did not rush us, despite the one hour time limit. In summary, this place felt corporate and not the intimate, curated meal it should have been. I'm only going to the east Village from now on.

A sushi speakeasy behind a Greek tapas bar, why not. Sushi by Bou is no newcomer to the omakase scene, so it was exciting to hear they were opening up a new spot in Bayside. Last night was their opening night, which also happened to be Valentine's Day so we snagged a 7pm seating for a 1-hour 12-course omakase (they also have a longer 17-course available but were not offering it last night). The sushi counter is small with only 8 seats, but the space did not feel cramped. They were running behind due to OpenTable posting the wrong address for the reservations, but they had and long bench and tables on the side where we all had drinks while we waited to be seated at the counter. The staff was lively and gave everyone complimentary sake to make up for the delay. We eventually got seated around 7:45 but it honestly didn't feel like such a long wait due to the upbeat atmosphere. After another round of sake shots, it was the chef's birthday, we got started with the omakase. Overall it was a solid lineup. Everything was super fresh. My favorites were the Hamachi, miso cod, Toro, and Wagyu Uni. They also gave us a complimentary Negi Toro handroll to end the meal. After everyone was finished we were ushered over to the bar area for one last sake shot and to pay the bill. At the end of the night, I was impressed. We left happy, full, and with a nice buzz from all the free drinks. Mega props to the bartender for making some of the best drinks! Huge shoutout to the hostess, I think her name was Maria or Monica sorry I was a bit tipsy by the end of the night lol. She had such a great spirit and energy. She kept us well-informed and was such a pleasure to talk to. Thank you for taking care of us!

Fantastic Omakase experience. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! Tucked behind a little greek restaurant we walked in and were sat quickly. This was my boyfriends first Omakase experience so Rachael and Chef Lee really made it special. The place is gorgeous and we made sure to take some photos with the "don't forget where you came from" sign. We got the bougie option which was 17-courses plus a handroll and a shot of sake for $100 per person. Every piece was extremely fresh and delicious. Mazin explained the barkeeps cocktail special to us and we were sold, it was delicious and very instagram worthy! When we were finished Rachael got us a table in their backyard and the vibes were immaculate. Super cute forest vibes with hanging Japanese umbrella's. The happy hour was still going on so we sat down and got some more amazing drinks from the bartender Erika, and played some games like connect 4 and Jenga. We were having so much fun so we invited our friends to come hangout with us. While my boyfriend and I were stuffed, our friends got the $3 chicken skewers which they said were amazing. They have a whole separate menu out there which we'll be back to try. Overall, a great edition to the neighborhood and we can't wait to go back!

The backyard is such a wonderful space to relax. The staff and bartenders are so friendly. Drinks were great, too! A new hidden gem on Bell Boulevard!

The entire staff was friendly, and every piece of sushi we had last night was very good,. This place will be our go-to spot for omakase. Also, the pricing was very reasonable as well for such a premium experience.

Been to Sushi by Bou at Nomad many times and this location was by far the worst experience. Wanted to bring my parents for their first omakase experience for Mother's Day but it was a disaster. Had a reservation at 9, arrived on time and WAITED OVER 40MINS TO BE SEATED. We were told the prior reservation is running 10 mins behind... after 30mins when 4 seats open up, the hostess offers it to the group that came AFTER. Hostess was all over the place, seems understaffed and sushi was just ok... giving 2 stars because of the chef. Overall extremely disappointing and will not be coming back to this location.

Visited this location on their opening night and was the second seating of the night. The staff is friendly and attentive and the décor is chic. We were seated a little past our reservation time (which was ok because we were late too) and the chef immediately started serving us our pieces. We chose the 17 piece omakase and it was delightful. I have been to other Sushi by Bou locations and this one matched the quality. Happy that this location is in Queens and will happily return when I get another omakase craving!

Super affordable omakase that opened in Bayside! Finally... Sushi by Bou is closer to home. I had this in the city before so I knew what to expect, super yummy and fresh fish. There are 2 courses here, 12 piece for either $50/$60 (I don't remember) and 17 piece for $100. If you live in Queens, this spot will be your new go to if you are craving omakase! The service is great here, the chef, host, bartender have so much energy and make the experience much more fun!

Hubby and I were excited that a new omakase spot was opening up in Bayside... much preferred than needing to make a trek out to Manhattan. I've always noticed the other Sushi by Bou locations, but never got to dine in before. We had high hopes that this could be our new go-to spot in the area, since the area is lacking any good sushi in my opinion. Service was good- every worker (hostess, bartenders, sushi chefs) was attentive and friendly. Overall decor is cute and I would come back for a drink or two. They definitely put effort into making this a speakeasy feel as it is tucked in the back of Baraki. You can walk straight through the restaurant and will see the entrance of it from the main door. There is a patio with an ample amount of seats as well, cozy and cute. Great area to sit and wait until it's your time to be seated. The sushi bar only holds 8 seats- definitely reserve in advance. When I dined in, I did notice a few empty seats, so if you were to be a walk in, you MIGHT get lucky. Towards the end of our meal, I noticed the next rush of guests coming in for the next hour, so definitely be mindful of this timed meal. We both got the bougie omakase, which consists of 17 pieces. It was good.... But I felt that with this price point, they could have had more premium options. It was kind of basic... and in the end, I left hungry :( the pieces were small and barely had any rice, even including the extra hand rolls that I ordered. I think they could have gotten away with adding a little more rice to each piece for fulfillment/satiation. Overall decent experience, but... I've had better. I would still recommend to friends though because it is a cute place for drinks!

An epic experience right here in queens!! The best omakase, each bite better than the next! Greeted right away by the friendly staff and the service was just as great as the food! The disco theme is cool too!
