Sushi by Bou- Sushi Suite- Nomad NYC @ Hotel 32|32

I really don’t want to let more people know about this place but RYAN IS *THE* SUSHI CHEF!!! Snag a reservation now & ask for Ryan if you want the best food & feel special!!! This place is now gonna be my go-to omakase for any special occasion and all special guests. I went to Sushi Suite a month ago to celebrate my early birthday with my best friend, and fell in love with this spot. It’s intimate (we had an early reservation so it was just the two of us; felt like a private sushi suite), the fish was really fresh, the sushi rice was perfectly done, and most importantly the service was impeccable. Ryan was so attentive and funny - he chatted with us throughout dinner, and said when he found out it was my birthday, he was going to bake a cake for me that morning. My jaw dropped cuz who still provides this level of service in 2023, in this economy? And since he ran out of time to bake me the cake 🥹, he made me a special birthday sushi bomb with ALL 5 of my favorite ingredients (which he picked up during our dinner conversation). He made us feel so so special, and made it a memorable celebration beyond the top notch sushi. They can host private events too & I definitely plan to hire Ryan for my next special event.

This place had exceptional quality fish, and service, and atmosphere. I gave it only 4 stars for the food because the exceptional fish was too often overpowered by toppings that detracted from it, like pineapple foam. (at the downstairs Sushi By Bou, the fish wasn't quite as perfect, but it was enhanced rather than detracted by the toppings).

The multi course omakase in an intimate setting with my partner and no other customers was a wonderful exclusive event. The conversation with the chef and staff allowed for a truly relaxing, educational, and excellent experience created by the team. You feel like you were the center of attention and really was. The place to ourselves will be a moment to be cherished.

This was hands down one of the delicious Omakase meal I haven't had in a while in NYC. The beautifully presented dishes captivated me, each one bursting with delicate flavors. Despite the absence of alcohol, the freshness of the fish shone through. With only four chairs per reservation, it's an intimate escape from the city buzz. Whether with a date or parents, it's sure to impress. Yes, I'd go back.

an incredibly unique experience. The 17-course menu was an ongoing progression and well worth experiencing (if you like sushi). The bar outside is pretty cool and inviting. The range of drinks on offer is completely sufficient and tasty. Had a very special and fun evening.

Amazing omakase! Felt so exclusive. Four seater restaurant in a hotel. Its kind of unusual to get into the restaurant but can’t spoil this for you. Make sure to make a reservation and prepay before going. The experience was unbelievable and definitely high end. The sake special and cocktails were amazing. The sushi chef was friendly, knew how to make everything in proper care, and was entertaining. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Perfect for date night!

So we tried it based on all the social posts we kept seeing.  We purchase the $135  exeperience, with service fees and tips it worked out to $177 a person (no drinks included). The setup was interesting. It is a sushi counter setup that serves up to 4 people a session (about 45 mins a session allotted) and there is an outdoor patio bar area that you can hang out before or after the omakase. To be honest - for $135, the food was very average.  The sushi chef was friendly but did not really impress with the conversations or what you'd expect of omakase experience where you usually get some stories or background of origin of the fish/material etc I have had quite a few omasake in my life, many in NYC and also overseas.  Overall the quality and courses were mediocre. There were madai (macakel), japanese red snapper, different cut of toro, uni included. Usually lean tuna and tamago would not make it EVER onto the menu as it is hard to justify paying almost $10 a piece for those. The chutoro lacked flavor and even the shavings of black summer truffle could not save it. The handroll seaweed wrap was not crunchy, which is at least expected. Most pieces went through a sear treatement with the blow torch.  While in some cases it make sense (like the wagyu), others just made me question thr legitimacy of this experience. For the same price - there are certainly other choices with better offering.  Do ut for the novelty factor if you want.

Amazing culinary experience. I hadn't heard of this before I booked but after reading the reviews, we decided to go for it. The food didn't disappoint. Every omakase bite was better than the one before. Kin, the chef was amazing too. A couple of things held me back from the 5th star. Firstly, the entire17 course experience in 60 minutes felt rushed. You're paying $300 + extras + drinks ($425 total on the night) in 60 minutes is too fast. You don't get a chance to relax and really savor it. A similar experience at Ginza Onodera (way more expensive) lasted over 2.5 hours for instance. The second thing is there's no desert option. You end the night on a great piece for fish, and it's done. All in all though, the sushi is worth it. It's amazing, and that goes a long way. Check out the pictures.

Not going lie - I was not expecting to be this good . I have been to $200 one to $70 . I got buy one get one deal $70 - 12 pieces from sushi by Bou . This is hands down one of the best chef and amazing quality for the price which I was blown away and I am very picky sushi person as I lived in Japan. One of our friends came 1 hours late and they let him eat outside lobby and we are so thankful instead of getting it take out. My friend raved they haven't had such an amazing sushi experience for a while. Food : 5/5 - Fresh & Amazing Texture - all seasoned well so we don't need any soy sauce ! That's how omakase should be! We added extra pieces cause so good. Highlight: Cali Uni , Scallop and Sake Salmon (surprise) , Tuna & Botan Ebi (shrimp) . Yuzu Sake was so good! Big Mac (uni, Wagyu, scallop) was great too but somehow hand roll special had better seasoning making it flavor bomb! Negi toro & sake chili rolls were great Service: 5/5 - Chef was funny and explain about ingredients Ambient : 4/5 - Chill and well decorated - a bit dark but still nice ambiences Kudos to chef who entertained us and gave us happy hour SHOT to hardworking parents! We will surely come back !

Pretty decent experience - I've been a few years ago when it was $50 for 12 pieces and it is now $70. They do have a BOGO until end of September which we purchased ahead of time and made a reservation with via Opentable. We arrived around 8PM on Monday and waited in the hotel lobby that served as the entrance until they were ready to seat our round of diners. It was a bit cramped and dark - they really tried to maximize the space. The music is a bit loud and jarring but nothing too bad! Our chef was very sweet and walked us through each nirigi and where each ingredient was from! The favorites were the very unassuming albacore which is torched, and the surf n turf. It was served at a good pace. We opted out of the drinks menu and they were sweet enough to give us sake shots on the house! They weirdly wouldn't allow my friend to wait at the counter for me while I used the singular bathroom in the hotel lobby while they let another person wait for their partner. Awkward lol.

I am only sad that I didn't start coming here sooner because this omakase spot is one of the best around! The quality is wonderful and the price is even better at only $60 for 12 courses. There are various locations and they all have a speakeasy vibe with limited seating. Due to this, be sure to make reservations when possible, which was very easy to do. This is a quick one hour seating experience, but I never felt rushed and was always just excited for my next course. If you come early, you can hang out in their lounge for some drinks (where you can also hang out afterwards too). The entire space has a 90's hip hop vibe with album covers as coasters and a big graffiti painting for Biggie on the wall. Even the playlist blasting takes you to that era of music. They served many amazing nigiris course after course. The flavors and preparation was well done to bring out the best of each fish. I was surprised there was even a Wagyuni (surf n turf), which usually is extra at other omakase spots. Since we came for a birthday, they even offered a free glass of sake for everyone who was also celebrating something. In addition, you can get an extra complimentary sake with Yelp check-in too! This is easily one of my favorite omakases in New York and can't wait to come back! Great food, service, and vibes all around.

We got the deal of 2 for 1 - 12 course omakase. If it's full priced, we would skip it as we thought the quality and portion is smaller than other places we've been to. Drinks were delicious. The yelp check in for free shot does not apply if you already got a deal off of the omakase. Some of our favorite pieces were scallops, eel, surf and turf, and miso cod. The chef was very kind and introduced each piece. It's a very small place tucked away in a hotel.

I have to preface this and say this was my first omakase experience and it was not exactly what I expected. I got the BOGO and used this on a Sunday evening. We were literally in and out within 35 mins. I really liked the fatty and lean tuna and a few other pieces. I did not like the eel piece. We were definitely still hungry after. Service was attentive, but they did keep asking us in the beginning if we wanted wine or something to drink. This location was very tight and dark. I am glad I tried this out but omakase is probably not for me.

Upon entering the restaurant is a cute small space nicely set up where the omakase experience is. There are 12 seats and they were all filled. The food was very fresh and tasty and the sushi chef was really nice and explained all the ingredients before he gave it to us. Great experience.

Such a fun and different omakase. This is a chain that is blowing up everywhere. The omakase is reasonably priced, delicious and the drinks were strong, too! The style of this omakase has its pros and cons compared to a traditional, which is why it is more affordable. You watch the chef prepare each roll, but everything is already sliced up and prepped so it takes them no time to make it. There is loud music playing in the background so you can't hear a word they are saying when explaining the roll to you. The music was on point though and I love the hip hop decor. Again, it is just very different! We loved the salmon with yuzu and chopped up fatty tuna the most. The actual dinner lasted about 40minutes and they use the remaining time to ask if you want any additional a la carte items. 12 pieces goes by extremely fast. Since everything is semi prepped they are able to whip up the next roll a couple minutes after you finish the last one. Again, pros and cons. Regardless, such a fun experience and I would recommend checking out sushi by bou! Delicious sushi and fun/different vibes for an affordable price!

Bought the BOGO deal for $70 (12 course) for 2 people and came here tonight with my girlfriend. This location was inside Hotel 32/32 and it was a cute hole in the wall. Each location has its own theme decor. Got seated 2 mins after my reservation but the host and bartender were very nice. The chef was nice and worked each piece at a good pace. However, I feel like the pieces were a tad smaller than other omakases. I was not full though. Fish quality was pretty good. Least favorite was the albacore and favorite piece was the wagyu uni and miso cod. Overall, it was an amazing deal!

My biggest regret in life was it discovering this place sooner. Trying to find this place was tricky. Once we found the restaurant, we sat at the bar and got a drink while we were waiting for the previous party to finish up. It was a very cozy experience. Sitting at the sushi bar provided a great level of interaction with the chefs, which I loved! I love asking them about the fish and their techniques. Truly an unforgettable experience! We made reservations in advance for the $60 set. It was one of the most spectacular omakase experiences I've had. Everything tasted amazing! Each bite I took, I felt like my eyes were gonna pop out because I was too stunned to speak. The nigiris were simple but they were made so well that simplicity is best in this case! I live so far away now, but if I'm ever in NYC, I'll have to book this place twice to satisfy my cravings!

A cute omakase spot inside a hotel with a lounge in the back! It is just the counter with about 10 seats so I would recommend grabbing a reservation if you can. Our chef was super nice and the staff were attentive. My friend and I each got the 12 piece course and some highballs! The fish tasted pretty fresh and the drinks were refreshing. The chef even gave everyone a free cup of sake! We were able to go to the lounge to finish our drinks and chat more, which was nice. Overall, would recommend this spot for omakase as we had a great experience, but I'd say you may leave a bit hungry.

This is my second visit to Sushi by Bou Nomad at Hotel 32|32. My first visit I went to the Suite which I found so much fun to step through the door to a hotel room containing a sushi bar and outdoor space. This visit I had the 12 course Omakase sushi tasting at the ground level restaurant. This comfortable spot accommodates up to 8 guests at a time. Delicate, fresh fish is served within a 30-minute time period, making it perfect for a quick lunch or pre/post theater dinner. It is affordable too. The chef works quickly and everyone is very attentive.

Get the summer offer of 2 for 1. I couldn't book the offer since it good for Sunday through Thursday. But the manager allowed us to use the credit during a Saturday night. I was so excited to try this place since it has good rating. Service is great. 1 extra star gives to chef and all the manager. It's more towards a bar style setup. However, food quality is sub par. The sushi rice is too vinegary. That took away the flavor of sashimi. 3.5 stars for food. I'm not going back and there are so many omakase choices in NYC.

The restaurant is located within Hotel 32, connected to a speakeasy-like bar. The restaurant is small and intimate, seating about ~10 seats at a time on the bar facing the chefs. We had the $60 omakase set and it was great, my favorite was the Wagyu with Uni. They have a limit of 1 hour and we were done within 40 mins, so I felt a bit rushed. The ebi and scallop were delicious too. Nice budget omakase but this was a pretty basic set, with normal toppings. Good for a quick intimate dinner. The vibes were hip with hip hop themes all around.

To me this is honestly the BEST Sushi in all of Manhattan. This is a sexy little 'blink' and you'll miss it "hole in the wall" that you'll find inside of a boutique hotel. The ambiance is dimly lit, mysterious, with black walls and red velvet speakeasy vibe. It takes a group of 9 people to close this place down for a private party at $60 pp for an Omakase of 12 courses. We were just a party of 4 on a random Holiday midweek night and had the place to ourselves--and we closed it down. We arrived at about 9pm and stayed til close to midnight. The Hotel's bar is the immediate, equally sexy, adjoining room which is a perfect after the meal spot for drinks and conversation. The sushi chef for our evening is an entertaining latin dude from Queens named Alex. I know you will not believe me when I tell you just how talented this guy is at his sushi craft so you will have to go and experience his culinary genius for yourself. EVERYTHING IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Our water glasses AND Sake cups were never empty ever. And make sure you have some tummy room leftover for dessert. I'm confused by the recent poor review on this place because everything we experienced was opposite of it. The 1 bathroom is all gender and is shared by the restaurant and hotel bar. And it's a pretty clean and well kept. Guys, this is where you wanna meet your date for a rendezvous. Ladies, this is the perfect spot to go to with your girls. Look at the pictures and call up Alex and tell him you're coming!

I ate here about 4ish years ago and it was delicious. I then ate here this past week and it is still delicious (the fish was all fresh and tasty)... HOWEVER, i can't give them 5 stars because the rice was often overseasoned/sauced/salty. It overpowered the taste of the fish for several of the pieces. unfortunate. Maybe it was just that day or week but i think it was better before. My favorite were the toro, chopped toro, yellowtail, prawn, wagyuni. for $60, it's still a good deal. If you want an affordable omakase experience, id recommend it but there are also other newer omakase spots in a similar price range that i want to try too. pro tip: once in a while, they have promo/deals where the omakase is $50 (maybe sign up for their emails or follow them on socials to keep an eye out)

Came here the other night for the $100 1 hour tasting menu which was delicious. Every bite was well prepared, the sushi chef was lovely and we received a free bottle of sake since we booked the res on OpenTable with 4 people. We also received a free glass of sake by one biting the Big Mac (lol) The fish is always fresh and well prepared, definitely recommend. 1. Yellowtail 2. Lean bluefin tuna 3. Botan ebi (sweet shrimp) 4. Salmon roe 5. Albacore tuna 6. Chopped toro 7. Scallop 8. Miso cod (never had a bite like this!) 9. Fluke 10. Red snapper with chili (yum!) 11. Oh my goodness where do I even start, came here on the last day on our NY trip cause it was close to our hotel as well as $60 for omakase, why not? Well let me tell you this might have been our worse decision ever, the whole "experience" was 30 minutes max being served 12 pieces of sushi that was already pre sliced or some what pre made (there was literally no experience, was just a guy serving us low grade sushi). All the pre sliced sashimi slices were broken and mangled, I didn't even want to take a photo as I was so un-happy. 5 minutes into the service, I pulled the biggest piece of bone out of my sushi and the chef said nothing, no apology, no offering me anything. He just looked me in the eye and continued making the sushi. And the cherry on top from this experience was I got food poisoning at the airport. In hindsight $60 USD + tip ($125 ish CAD) sounded amazing for omakase but in reality it was just a waste of time, super market sushi would be better, service was not great and I got food poisoning.

Came here for Dining in the Dark - Omakase dinner, which was great! Had bar seating and our server took videos of us as, seeing it's Dining in the Dark..we couldn't see anything. The sushi was good, fresh and the overall dinner was in a timely fashion. I'd go back to see their full menu. Obviously, no pics for this one. lol

Had an incredible time at sushi by bou omakase where we had a lovely 12 courses. Our sushi chef was also so funny and interactive with us the whole time and served us delicious sushi. It is a small space but super adorable

Easily one of my favorite omakase spots in the city. The ambiance was elegant as it's hidden in a hotel lobby. There's a speakeasy bar upstairs which was pretty cool. Easy parking along the street. It's also pretty affordable ($60 for 12 pieces) compared to other omakase in the city. And very high quality sushi. After the 12 pieces, you have the option to order any of them again a la carte which was great. Among my favorites were surf n turf (wagyu and sea urchin), scallops, salmon, lean tuna, fatty tuna. All of the pieces were delicious. Drinks also great. The 2nd time I went, they gave us sake on the house. I have been here 3 times already and will continue to come for more!!

I went with my friend because they were running a promo for $35 per person if you buy a coupon before. I guess I should have guessed that it was too good to be true since it was so cheap. (I went before previously and it was good). This time the rice was undercooked and hard. I had to pick the rice out of my teeth because it was so hard, and couldn't swallow certain pieces cause it was so undercooked. The fish itself was alright not nothing to rave about. Lastly, please know that there's an 18% gratuity already added but they don't tell you so I tipped twice :/. Felt like someone should warn you beforehand because I definitely did not want to tip twice for such mediocre sushi.

The prices are kept low by the sheer volume of customers they serve. Each 12 course omakase are served in 30 minutes. Although it goes by quickly, it strangely didn't feel rushed. The rice was overseasoned, too salty that it overwhelmed the taste of the more delicate fish. The albacore was described to us by the chef that it tasted like chicken, so when I ate it, all I could think about was eating chicken. Not really what I wanted to picture when I was eating sushi. My favorite bites of the night were the akami, hamachi, and toro. The akami melted in my mouth more than I thought it would. Hamachi was pretty fresh. Toro is always good. For a $60 omakase, the meal was pretty decent. A Yelp check-in also gave us a free shot of sake which was very smooth.

Quality went downhill a lot since our last visit. Both for the sushi but more significantly the service was comically bad. Took like 4 tries just to get the water. Seated in wrong area (they assumed we wanted drinks not sushi) and chef wouldn't give us soy sauce (asked, he said he'd get us some, 15m later asked again since we never got it and same guy says that actually no cause you're not supposed to ask for soy sauce at omakase.. which is kinda ridic cause he had said yes earlier and this isn't the level of omakase where he needs to be offended about giving out extra soy sauce especially since he wasn't really seasoning any of the fish) too much other things to list. On top of all this wouldn't honor the email promo we received promising a free hand roll. Have never in my time living in New York have I not left a tip until today

Wasting your time and money going here. The sushi is mid at best and you can get a much better and much cheaper meal at Sugarfish right down the street. Also think the decor is corny. We don't need to make "sushi cool" it is already cool and delicious lol. Avoid at all costs. Service very solid though, the chef's and wait staff were nice.

For $60 sushi omakase, I can't imagine something better. The fatty tuna is the best. After 30 min of eating, I can still feel the taste in my mouth. I highly recommend trying the Big Mac, with a combo of uni, fatty tuna, scallop and wagyu. The whole experience is more like a fast food but with high quality food. They serve all the pieces in 30min but we moved over to the bar inside to finish our sake. It's a more contemporary sushi experience with the decoration more like a bar rather than the traditional omakase chef's bar.

Cool venue for omakase, this location of sushi by bou had good service, but overall the omakase experience was just ok. It took a total of 30 minutes for all 12 courses, and its super affordable at about 65pp, but nothing really wowed me. My favorite was probably the fatty tuna (big surprise) and the scallop, but I was slightly let down by the surf and turf wagyu and uni. Overall, if you are in the area and looking for affordable omakase its not a bad option, but ive had better omakase for a similar price at other spots in the city.

Sushi was good although I wasn't convinced it was the freshest i imagined. Though the chef was very pleasant. Atmosphere was ok but not my style i guess. Price was affordable for $100 10-course Omakase. Good but didn't blow me away.

Affordable and tasty 12 course omakase for $60 per person. The interior is super small, seats only about 8 or so people at the bar, so a reservation is absolutely necessary. They have a lounge/bar area where you can wait either before/after your omakase experience to finish (or continue) your drinks. The fish looked like some were prepared ahead of time (precut or pre-laid out) but they still tasted fresh to me. The staff member does churn them out fast (everything was served in less than 40 minutes), probably because they have quite limited real estate, but we didn't feel rushed at any time. Check in on yelp to get a free sake shot, and they also gave us a bonus free shot for coming in on Thanksgiving Day! I enjoyed all the fishes, but particularly liked the sweet shrimp, scallop, toro, and wagyu-uni. You can order additional pieces of any of the options afterwards. The quality probably won't make you stuffed, but was decent for omakase. They have a few cocktail options, but nothing to write home about. All in all, very affordable omakase option in NYC!

I was blown away by my first time here. The food and service was amazing. Fresh and sweet taste to all their fishes. The chef described what we were eating very clearly and thoroughly. I also like the dark/speakeasy vibes here.

One of the quickest omakases I've done - delicious but felt a little rushed. I hardly put one piece in my mouth and another one was on my plate. The pieces were your average lower budget omakase picks and tasted good. Other than that the environment itself is fun, the chef gave us sake and there was a cute waiting area for drinks before we started our meal. Good for a group of friends.

4.5 stars. Had the pleasure of experiencing the 30 min 12-piece omakase a couple months ago and would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique sushi dining experience. This dinner had been a long time coming--I'd purchased a Sushi by by Bou x Yelp special offer during Black Friday 2019 and due to the pandemic Sushi by Bou kindly extended their expiration dates past the original 2020 end of year date. Being located in hotels, prior to vaccines being available there was a period when the various Sushi by Bou restaurants had been closed in 2020. Now while masks are not required they were recommended though only about 1/3 of the patrons were wearing them in the bar room area while I was there. The signs outside are a bit confusing bc the hotel has buildings on both the north and south side of 32nd street. The restaurant is in the building on the south side. Entering the hotel lobby, the sign for the restaurant is visible towards the back. Upon arrival, we were shown seats in the back bar room (not the sushi bar) with seating for about 30 people, and presented with drinks menus for ordering while we waited for the sushi bar to be ready. I ordered the Shiso Southsider, a refreshing drink of vodka, shiso leaves, simple syrup and lime juice. The wait was pretty short, about 10 min, at which point staff brought us to sit at the sushi bar. Right off they started with the hamachi (yellowtail), akami (lean tumi), then free shots of sake for everyone at the bar. It was a nice touch though since it's free don't expect super high quality sake. We enjoyed each piece of sushi as it was being served, the fish was fresh and the sauces and preparation for each paired well. The only downsides on food were that the presentation could have been a tad neater, and 12 pieces left me still a little hungry. As a side note, if you are a sushi purist looking to taste only fish and rice you'll need to look elsewhere! Otherwise this is a terrific choice, I may upgrade to their Bougie option for additional time and sushi next time. Also want to mention the sushi chefs were very friendly and energetic, and made an effort to talk to all the customers at the bar, it added to the pleasant experience.

Located in the same building as a hotel, so may be a bit hard to find. We were seated at the bar. There was booth seating as well, but not sure if those were for omakase customers. The sushi was great, but would recommend somewhere else if you're looking for an intimate/quiet experience where you get to interact with the chefs. The chefs barely spoke and didn't say what pieces were being served (there is a menu on the wall that you can follow along with). Food (* = my faves) - hamachi - botan ebi - ikura* - albacore - tuna - scallop - miso cod* - shima aji* - fluke - baby snapper - snapper - uni* - toro* - salmon - wagyu + uni* - handroll - unagi*

We enjoyed our time at Sushi by Bou-Nomad. The sushi was fresh and well prepared and the chef, Sushi Papi, was informative and entertaining at the same time. The bar area is very large and felt like a great environment considering the size of the sushi counter, so we waited there until our name was called. Once at the sushi counter the food began to roll in. 12 courses in 30 mins it's felt a little fast, but the taste was well worth it.

Love the decor, music and vibe. Our friend recommended and made reservations for us to try. Very close by our hotel in Nomad, while visiting NYC. Omakase style sushi restaurant that plays 80-90s hiphop music. Very intimate, sushi counter seats 10- 2, includes a lounge area with amazing cocktail drinks to continue the night. $50 -12 course omakase - (30 minutes) $100 - 18 course omakase - (60 minutes) We opted for the 18 course and did not regret it. Each of the courses was curated and perfectly executed by the sushi chef. The flavors and fish was a melt in your mouth experience. My favorite includes the uni, scallops, fatty tuna and Wagu w/ uni. Great date night and good conversations with our dinning neighbors.

This is part one of my 30th Birthday Dinner from my wonderful girlfriend. We came to NYC for a little getaway trip. My girlfriend arranged 2 omakase dinners for me. The first one was Sushi by Bou and the other was Shuko. We wanted to try one upscale omakase and compare it to a casual omakase to see if there were any differences. We went with the standard 30-minute experience which was $50 per person. Ambiance - 5/5 - This location was at Hotel 32|32 in a modern sushi speakeasy. It was an intimate 10-seat omakase experience. They played old school 90s hip hop and r&b (right up our alley) and had an array of urban artwork. The bar seating was spacious and very comfortable. We absolutely loved this location and are looking forward to visiting other locations in NYC! Service - 5/5 - Our flight from SFO to EWR was delayed and our original reservation was at 8:00pm. We contacted Sushi by Bou via text and easily got changed for a later reservation with no issue via text! Very convenient service. Upon arrival, we were seated about 10-15 minutes later than our scheduled time. We got time to catch a breathe, look over the cocktail menu and order a drink while waiting. It was nice to soak in the environment and chat. Our waiters were extremely friendly, accommodating and gave us 3 free premium sake shots over the course of the dinner. We were the last rotation and spent over an hour there (despite having the 30 minute experience). They accommodated my dietary restrictions and I cannot boast enough about how happy we were after leaving. Omakase Tasting - 5/5 - This was my second omakase experience and it did not disappoint. We had 12 courses and each fish was fresh and flavorful. My personal favorite of the bunch was the uni. There was a wide range of fish including various tunas, albacore, salmon, scallop, shrimp (and so on). Our chef showed attention to detail and made sure we were happy with each tasting. We will definitely be going back the next time we're in NYC. If you're in town, appreciate quality sushi and are looking to have an experience, Sushi by Bou is a good start to kick off your night! Me and my girlfriend will be coming back for years to come. Our bill was extremely affordable and came to about $185 with both tastings, two craft cocktails, tax+tip. Highly recommend!!

4.5/5 Truly an amazing experience with great food. Each hand roll was AMAZING (included a picture of all of our rounds). The only thing we didn't care for were the drinks (pictured) we ordered while in the waiting lounge for our reservation. Everything else was more than fabulous. If you love sushi, as we do, this is 100% an experience to try. You can even add courses of extra things you want to try and they alter if you can't eat some of the courses. We'll be going back each time we're in the city now.

Signature $60/per person 30-minute Omakase 12 courses, consisting of: Hamachi Yellowtail Akami Lean Tuna Maguro Chopped Tuna Botan Ebi Spotted Prawn Ikura Salmon Roe Bincho Albacore Hotate Scallop Gindara Miso Cod O - Toro Fatty Tuna Sake Salmon Wagyuni Surf & Turf Unagi BBQ Eel All the nigiri was super fresh and tasty, although my favorite was probably the wagyuni, hamachi, and otoro. I've also tried their Big Mac (wagyu, scallop, o-toro, and uni), but thought the flavors didn't work that well all together in one bite. Service was great, and I even got some sake from the chef. Great place if you're looking for a quick dinner.

TL;DR Version: - Overall it was a solid experience. A bit short, but nice. - Drinks weren't strong but tasted delicious - Sushi was amazing. Fresh ingredients skillfully put together. Long Winded Version: Food: 5/5 ... Sushi was solid. Getting to see this rolls / dishes made right in front of you, you get to admire the quality, fresh ingredients and see the chef's skillful technique and precision. I would of loved to learn a bit more of the dishes but I can't knock them for keeping the dialogue short. Location: 4/5 ... A short walk from Korea Town / Herald Square. That means there's plenty of public transportation nearby and a ton of restaurants and bars in stumbling distance if you're not filled or want to keep the night going. Atmosphere / Ambiance: 4.5/5 ... I love the hip hop theme. The bar area is small and intimate so it's pretty chill. It's pretty welcoming and would be a great place for a date. Quality: 5/5 ... Definitely worth the $50 for the 30 minute experience. The drinks were delicious but could've been made a little stronger. Maybe they were strong but made craftfully so that the flavor masked the alcohol content. Anyway, it's definitely worth the visit.

I love sushi, but my significant other isn't the biggest fan. I took advantage of his willingness to try new things on our New York City trips to come here a couple times! Once for my birthday a few years ago and again for a weekend trip recently. We did the longer experience (60 min) on my birthday trip, which was before the pandemic. The experience was great: we got yummy cocktails, had fun with the crew, and each piece was good. The staff took my dietary restrictions and took great care ensuring that my meal was gluten free. They even escorted us to the rooftop bar after for another round of drinks. Even the boo liked it so much that he was even more willing to come back when we came back to town... And we did! This time we did the shorter experience (30 min) and it did not disappoint. You can really get a good fill for a reasonable price. The bar area was also nice to hang out at. Only concern was that even though they took my dietary restrictions, they didn't seem to take as much care this time around. I asked for no extra soy sauce on my nigiri, yet our chef added it each time! So definitely reiterate if you need any modifications. Overall, still great and the free shot with Yelp check in is the cherry on top!

This place was really great. I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I was able to secure a reservation 30 mins in advance for a 60$/head omakase. Was I walking into a budget, less than fresh, low brow experience? Boy was I pleasantly surprised! This spot was very nicely decorated, with a 90s hip hop theme carried thru from the art on the walls (pics of Tupac, Biggie, etc) , to the coasters (famous album covers from the likes of snoop, Dre, etc) and a soundtrack to match. The omakase is listed on the wall, but included more expensive items like uni, Toro, A5, scallop, etc. The preparations were delicious and inventive and there was an opportunity to add on more items at the end if you were still hungry. (we were perfectly full, which doesn't always happen at meals like these!) we opted for sodas, as their sake list was devoid of nigori, a favorite of ours. We got a funny look from the bartender when we asked for it so maybe they know something we don't! The pace of the meal was great, we were in and out in approx 45 mins, but never felt rushed and the sushi chef serving our end of the counter was friendly, knowledgeable and funny, without being intrusive to our party's visiting. The rice was well seasoned (so important!) and the chef even accommodated my "no cow" dietary restriction on the A5 course. They have other locations in the city (and around the country) and each spot has a different theme from the 90s hip hop theme here. I think I'll try a FL location next! I must have told upwards of 15 friends about this spot already, so you might have more of a challenge getting a res but I reco you go too!

Hands down, my FAV omakase ever!!! I have been to $200+ omakase and this beats it by far. Not only was it reasonably priced ($50), the experience was amazing. Our sushi chef was so fun! You can order more sushi at the end of the courses and drinks here were pretty good (but pricey). Our omakase was supposed to be for 30 minutes but we finished within 45-50 minutes. Will definitely come back when I am in NYC and I have recommended this place to all of my friends!

Everything was spectacular From the service, to the drinks, to the music, to the plating, and the food. I can barely form a cohesive thought because I'm so high off the sushi so some words that come to mind when describing it are: fresh, nicely fatty, raw, delightful, delicious, buttery etc. My favorite bite of the night had to be the cod. It was so soft, a little sweet and cooked to absolute perfection. All of the sauces/toppings they used were savory and complemented each fish. The decadent bite of the night was for sure the Big Mac. It was all of your favorite bites in one big bite. I'm so glad the seats are limited because that bite was definitely an intimate and private kind of bite.

The place was in the back of the hotel and it was pretty small. The decoration was hip and not the kind of quiet peaceful omakase place. It was $60 for 12 pieces, and you can order add-on afterwards. The food quality was nice and the chef did explain the food to us. Overall, it did not my fav omakase vibe but I really enjoyed the food.

Arrived here for dinner @ 5pm during the holiday week. We hung our coats and waited in the lounge area until they were ready for us. My friends and I were seated at the bar for omakase. Omakase comes with 12 pieces. The sushi chef gave us one extra piece of our choice. I asked for another yellowtail. Overall we had a lovely dining experience here. It's affordable, fresh and delicious. Great ambiance and friendly service.

Very cool place. Tiny, only seats about 8 people, the sushi was prepared right in front of us, and everything was excellent. Definitely need reservations.
