Friends of Eater Miami Share Their Saddest Restaurant Closure of 2022 | Eater Miami

"For nostalgia, I’m choosing Doraku: one of the last local restaurants on Lincoln Road, where I grew up going in high school for happy hour bites before I was old enough to order drinks; its happy hour was a great place to down cheap sake and totally-fine sushi, and its closure tugged at my heartstrings and has left that western stretch of Lincoln Road feeling desolate." - Olee Fowler

Hidden gem! The service was great. Very polite and attentive. Sushi tasted amazing! There are so many different options and unique rolls. I tried 2 rolls I have never had before- they were both super yummy. You can tell the ingredients used are good quality and fresh. The atmosphere is nice. Clean and smells good. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. We will be coming back to try more rolls! They also have a happy hour menu and plenty of beer selections. Also the rice is actual sushi rice and some of the best I’ve had. I ordered the Carnival roll and the Crunch buddy. My husband got the Steak Kastu. Steak was not dry and it was the right amount of crispy. I don’t usually like Kastu, but I enjoyed the piece I tried.

The rolls were exceptional and the service was great - there weren't many people there so everything came out very quickly! Will be coming back for the avocado appetizer.

This place is super under rated it’s hard for me to believe there’s not a line waiting outside the place because of how fresh this sushi is. The sushi cuts are so perfect and nice portion for the price too. The salmon I got literally melted in my mouth it was so fresh. The closest thing to this fish is a high end sushi spot I know in Phoenix that charges three times what they charge. This is seriously a high quality place but they make it very affordable.. 10/10 would recommend.

We were here for my big bday bash, and the food is incredible, udon, ramen, sashimi, fried veggies, yummy edamame, everyone found something they liked! I personally adore the Geisha Roll and the chef even made me a special roll on my bday! I had an amazing time, the atmosphere was great and the food delicious! Definitely reccomend ❤️

This restaurant is completely serious about its cuisine. This place was recommended by a friend of mine, and I believe it is the number one place in Arizona. I highly recommend it. I forgot to take a picture so I took this picture while I was eating😅 This is probably where you would have to stand in line if you were at Asu University, which is a little closer.

Delicious and authentic Japanese comfort food in Peoria. The food was outstanding however our server kept forgetting stuff- he forgot the Sake, forgot the Ramune soda, forgot the wasabi and ginger… seriously, it was annoying. The place could use some decor, a couple of walls seem really bare. There is a large TV though, and they had the playoffs showing so that’s cool for sports fans. Regardless, I’d definitely go back for the food but avoid that server. The food is worth it, we had the seafood yaki soba ramen, creamy veggie ramen, pork fried rice, chicken curry katsu, dragon roll and mochi for dessert. The dragon roll was amazing - largest pieces of eel I’ve ever had on a roll!

Love coming here! It’s quaint, has many delicious options, and they offer kimbap off the menu! Service is always fast, quick, and kind. Glad to be so close by. Garlic edamame is amazing.
