I visited Sushi Fever for a holiday work dinner. The restaurant was quite busy and packed, which made for a noisy atmosphere. However, the interior had a cute Japanese decor that added to the ambiance.
One aspect that I didn't particularly like was the table setup. The tables were placed very close to each other, making it difficult to maneuver without asking the person behind you to move. This was a bit inconvenient, especially when trying to get in and out.
When I arrived, I found out that the party had already placed the order for the table. Fortunately, I was able to order a few nigiri items, as I prefer nigiri over rolls. The table had already ordered a lot of food. I ended up ordering the Toro, Salmon Belly, Ebi, and Sea Urchin nigiri. The nigiri dishes were good and met the expectations of a mid-scale Japanese restaurant.
After the nigiri, the rolls were served, but I forgot about their names. There were three different rolls, and I must say that the portions were quite generous. However, I found that the rolls were overly sauced. One of the rolls even had extra sauce on the side, while another was sitting in a pool of sauce. The overpowering sauce masked the taste of the fish, which was disappointing. This is one of the reasons why I prefer nigiri over rolls, as they tend to over sauce.
The service at Sushi Fever was also lacking. Our waiter was hardly present, and it took a while for our requests to be fulfilled. I even had to ask for water twice and never received any, so I ended up drinking one of the unused waters on the table. It seemed like the staff was overwhelmed due to the busy night.
Overall, my experience at Sushi Fever was not great. Considering that it is not an all-you-can-eat sushi place, I had higher expectations for the quality of the food and service.
