The Best Sushi Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona

"Seating is minimal (four two-tops plus an eating bar) at this tiny sushi shop, where the service is quick and friendly. Everything is designed to be self-serve, from ordering on a tablet to picking up your own beverages and utensils. Customers forego the amenities for high-quality sushi, which is popular as a takeout item. Family-size platters are available as well as nigiri, hand rolls, bowls, and an adorable sushi cake, which requires 24-hour notice." - Nikki Buchanan, Eater Staff

Google
This place keeps popping up on my radar, but I hadn't had the chance to get in. Well, today was the day. We got 3 rolls and some sashimi. All was very good. I actually really appreciate the no frills approach of the restaurant. I like a spot that just does what you came there for. Produce spectacular food. I don't need to eat it off of art with someone asking me every couple of minutes if I need something. There is a place and time for that, but it's very refreshing to eat at a place that feels like you are stopping by your relative's house to drop something off and you get hooked up with something tasty but you don't have to sit around and chit chat all day. Real laid back and to the point.

The sushi was fresh and tasty. Got the Chef’s Plate. Loved the seared salmon roll, the rainbow roll and the tuna serrano roll. Nigiri was great. Ambiance was casual and bright which was perfect for us to randomly stop by. Miso soup, seaweed and cucumbers were perfect sides. But the lasting impression was the friendliness of the server (owner?) and his great attitude. Cool guy and looking forward to coming back many more times.

Fresh! # Update: Second Visit a week later - It gets better! Sushi Friend delivers a great casual dining experience that earned every bit of its five stars from me. Arriving at 4:30pm on a weekday, we were greeted by a warm, lively atmosphere dominated by cheerful yellow branding that immediately set a positive tone. The ordering system impressed me right away—sleek kiosks streamline the process while ensuring accuracy. We opted for their four specialty rolls platter with a side of real wasabi, and the efficiency was remarkable. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet (likely due to our early timing before their 7pm weekday close), the energy remained vibrant. What truly sets Sushi Friend apart is their commitment to freshness. Each roll was crafted to order, and you could taste the difference in every bite. The fish was pristine, the rice perfectly seasoned, and the real wasabi—not the typical grocery store substitute—provided an authentic kick that elevated the entire meal. Our thirty-minute visit felt perfectly paced: quick enough for a casual dinner yet relaxed enough to savor the quality. For anyone seeking fresh, expertly prepared sushi in a welcoming environment, Sushi Friend hits every mark. Highly recommended.

Google
We stopped by Sushi Friend for lunch, and I’m so glad we did. From start to finish, it was an awesome experience. We were feeling adventurous and decided to try a variety of rolls, and honestly, every single one was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. You could tell the sushi rice was perfectly cooked and that the chefs really know what they’re doing. The sushi chefs were super friendly and even helped us pick out our last couple of rolls, which made the whole experience even better. We ended up trying their seared salmon roll, the Kiro roll, AZ roll, poke roll, and one of their basic rolls. They were all delicious, but the poke roll was definitely my favorite it had such a great balance of texture and flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was helpful, and the food came out beautifully prepared. If you’re looking for a sushi spot that gets it right on all levels, I strongly recommend Sushi Friend. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Honestly, Sushi friend is worth the hype and the price. With a combination of friendly people working, amazing quality of ingredients and a great ambiance throughout the place, it surpassed all my expectations (which were already high to begin with). 10/10

Google
This place lives up to the hype! Delicious rolls with wonderful service. In addition to the rolls, we also ordered the miso soup and ube creme brulee. The Ube Creme Brulee is a must! Wonderful texture and great taste that isn't too sweet. I'm so excited to revisit sushi friend again. Update: Solid food and service every time I visit! Ordered an ube cheesecake and sushi cake for my birthday and both items were spectacular!!

Google
It's the best sushi in town! I won't order from anywhere else. I'm always happy with whatever I order off the menu and everyone is so friendly and helpful.

Google
My husband just got knee surgery so we couldn't go anywhere for my birthday so we wanted to order in but still make it celebratory. First off the ordering online and delivery was flawless and I have no notes. Everything came well packaged and on time. I ordered ahead of time and got a sushi cake! Everything was phenomenal from the rolls to the cake itself and I would highly recommend them. I have told everyone I know about the sushi cake, what a fun idea!

Yelp
There is salmon in the salmon roll. There is no dragon in the dragon roll. Service was sassy. I liked it.

Yelp
I'm little late to the Sushi Friend party. Having wanted to go for a while, I'm so glad I finally made the effort on a Friday for lunch. We had a couple of rolls (Rainbow, because duh, Sunnyslope, and Spicy Tuna), salmon nigiri, and added the fresh Wasabi (a must). Fish came out quickly despite there being an early lunch push. I can't say enough about how deliciously fresh the fish is and how perfect the portion sizes are. Seating area can get a little noisy and parking can be bit snug. Especially when there is a table full of high schoolers there on early release Friday lol. But if that's what stops you from trying this epic spot, you don't deserve to enjoy what this gem has to offer. You belong at Ra. Can't wait to get back. Food, service, ambiance-- all perfect.

Yelp
Sushi friend is not so friendly. Sushi 4/5 Service 1/5 Price 3/5 order a platter seems to be the better deal. Went a hour before close place was pretty busy. They do close early in my opinion 7 is early. You order at a iPad so look at the menu before because there is not a lot of room in the entrance so a line will form fast. Very small location you can see the guys making the food. No service was not friendly seemed very bro vibe they need some female energy in there for front of house yo great people answer questions. Any questions I had they ( which were can't I get some chop sticks because they were out at the self service counter) seemed bothered to answer. Everything is very non customer service friendly so what am I tipping for ? I got no human service. This place use to be take out only and they seem to still run that way. The sit down area is small but gets the job done. They need someone to help clean tables. The price doesn't match the vibe. Ok to the food. The sushi was fresh, great quality. DO NOT get the miso soup. It was served in a paper cup and just had broth nothing else in it not even green onions. Very bland. When they brought out food no smile not explanation of anything just gave us the food and left. Seaweed salad was dry not sure how you make a dry seaweed salad but they did. Cucumber salad was good. For the price a little customer service goes a long way. I would suggest getting it to go. Sushi was good not the best ever but good.

Yelp
friend from out of town wanted to try this place and it did not disappoint! we were unsure of what to order so we got the mixed roll platter to try a bit of everything. Will say..us three girls ate down on the platter, there were sm rolls we were all so stuffed. The rice to sushi ratio was perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed each bite! The sushi didn't have a fishy taste to it at all and tasted very clean and smooth. I think my favorite roll was the seared salmon roll and the fire dragon roll! Service is great and I feel so bad but me and my friends accidentally stayed 30min over closing time blabbing, so nice of them to let us girls talk haha. There is a few parking spots in the front but they have a lot of parking in the back of the restaurant!

Yelp
Truly authentic and delicious sushi. When you walk in you order online (in the restaurant) and wait for them to make the sushi fresh. Lots of seating in a clean and friendly space. The miso soup is ridiculously good! My sushi was absolutely amazing.

Yelp
This is a bit embarrassing, but I am so glad I didn't judge a book by its cover. We are from NYC, so I was hesitant to eat raw fish in the dessert I mean how fresh could it be? When we arrived in the front it didn't look like a restaurant, the yellow color was a honestly not very inviting, from outside looks like a bodega. I decided to walk in and check it out while my family waited in the car. Inside it has two rooms a dining room and the area where you place your order in an iPad electronically. The place is a bit industrial inside, self serve. The sushi was DELICIOUS, stag is very friendly and all arrived fast. I will definitely return when we visit our son at ASU.

Yelp
It's all love from us! My wife and I just got back and are absolutely stuffed full. It was SO delicious we couldn't contain ourselves and nommed our salmon rolls in around 5 mins! Apologies if we looked odd. Our visit was spur-of-the-moment; nearly missed it on our drive-up Central from Northern. It's a little tucked-away - parking at the front and more round the back. Lovely clean entrance, chefs working hard, big bright self-serve screen with many delicious of nom to select (we had the salmon roll and the SpIcY salmon roll) and a Mexican cola, and a bunch of people in the eat-in section in the next room talking, laughing and enjoying their food! The service was SO quick, I sincerely thought we had someone else's order! Serioualy, every single ingredient was mouth-wateringly fresh, the wasabi was sabi-licious and the thinly sliced ginger could've been a drink for all I knew. Impressively top work. Glad we got to visit. Thank you for the hospitality and deliciousness.

Yelp
We enjoyed two specialty sushi platters to take home . The family started ordering sushi from the owner during Covid that he made out of his home . Both platters were filled with unique well " crafted " unique combinations i would highly recommend . My son who loves sushi wife ordered him a sushi birthday cake , unique & enjoyable ( earlier date ) which must be ordered 24 hours in advance . ( another time) There were 4/5 chefs on Friday at 5 pm preparing the food in the open kitchen. Adjacent was a large dinning area . Highly recommended, high quality , satisfying ,clean & healthy . Learned after dinner Sushi Friend is a top sushi spot on Yelp in Phoenix . The north central avenue area seemed becoming more upscale. ( note no parking issues at all 5pm Friday afternoon 2-2025 )

Yelp
I sat in phoenix wondering how the best sushi I have ever had was here. I live on the east coast and just was monumentally confused and mad because this literally be a weekly visit if I lived close by. We got three rolls and the phenomenal tuna set. I will dream about it constantly until I can return to arizona(wtf). Anyhow go here and literally nothing is bad.

Yelp
I've heard about Sushi Friend making it onto a top sushi list on Yelp, so I was excited to finally try it! I ordered online for pickup on my way home from work, and the process was super smooth--my order was ready and packed up as soon as I arrived, making for a quick and easy experience. The sushi itself was incredibly fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the rice was--something that's often overlooked but makes a big difference. I got the Toro, and while my first impression made me question it, the flavor ended up being amazing. Overall, great quality sushi and a seamless pickup process. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
WOW! This Sushi is simply AMAZING..I've had the luck of traveling around the globe and this is some of the finest food around. The team is great at welcoming and creating an excellent experience. Not just the best Sushi in the Phoenix area but in the entire state of AZ...this team has taken their craft to another level. Thank you for sharing your talent and passion...

Yelp
Kevin and the staff at sushi friend are a gem. The sushi is fresh tasty and the sashimi melts in your mouth. What a treat and what a delight. They have various fish from tuna bellies, eels, salmon you name it. No frills simply good food.
google avatar

Christine N.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place forever and it did not disappoint. Decided to splurge and split a toro box with my friend along with a spicy yellowtail hand roll and scallop hand roll. The toro box came with 4 sashimi pieces, 4 nigiri, 6 maki, ginger, and fresh wasabi. The hand rolls were good, but the toro won it all - it was so fresh you couldn't believe you were in the desert. You can't miss the yellow building and there is a small dining room area, but we had decided to get it for take out (placing your order online is recommended). Definitely would come back!

Yelp
Service was amazing. Lot of personality. We ordered the yuzu roll, the serrano tuna, the unagi roll, and seared salmon roll and let me say, this is worth the drive and worth the money. Top two sushi i have had in the valley and top five sushi i have had in the US. Ambiance is chill. Quick service with a quality menu

Yelp
The food is delicious! The seafood is fresh and flavorful. I had the aguachile roll and loved it. You order on a tablet which is nice because it shows pictures and descriptions of what is in the roll/bowl. The wasabi paste they use is very strong so I didn't have much of it. The service was a little slow for not being packed but not awful. The interior was simple and clean. The parking can be rough since you park in a dirt lot. Overall, I highly recommend this place and would definitely come again.

Yelp
Food is fresh and fantastic. Really bare bones to eat in. Great for take out. Not inexpensive.

Yelp
Any person I can call a Sushi Friend is a good friend indeed! Met with said sushi friend for lunch. I got here a little after opening and nearly all of the limited front parking spots were taken but there is parking in the back as well. The shop is pretty small and has a well organized tablet ordering system. It was easy to find what we wanted and to pay. While one half of the shop is devoted to making your meal and ordering area, the other half has a fair amount of seating for the space they have. I had the sashimi bowl. It didn't take too long to make and it looked absolutely incredible. It was served in a paper bowl and had a selection of what looked like snapper, salmon and tuna sashimi with a generous dollop of wasabi, pickled ginger, avocado, surumi, shredded daikon and tamago. You have your choice of rice, salad or halfsies for your bottom layer. I opted for the half rice half salad combo. The rice was warm, rice vinegar infused, and perfectly cooked. The sashimi was very fresh as were all the other ingredients. I saw that they offer real wasabi too! Very cool. I will have to try it with one of my meals one day. I was very intrigued by the sushi cake they offer here. Might have to get one for my next trip around the sun celebration ;)

Yelp
Don't sleep on a sushi spot in Sunnyslope! I will drive a distance for fantastic sushi & this is it. Spicy crab roll to go. Not decorated like your typical sushi house but modernly cute and casual, whether dining in or take out. Order at a kiosk, watch & wait till they call your order or bring to your table. It's not going out of your way if you know you will be happily satisfied. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Shelby H.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best sushi spots in AZ! Went in on Saturday afternoon and it was packed- but worth the wait. Tried the sunny slope roll, the special toro roll and a salmon and avocado hand roll, everything was delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Best spot hands down first place I tried once I got back from Japan and it's the closest to what I was eating in Japan the rice was identical the fish was perfection and the staff is amazing love the counter order setup they have and also the sitting at the counter and seeing them make the orders
google avatar

Yelp
Mind-blown. Completely wild. Absolutely elite. The custom sushi cake from SushiFriend was next level--a true work of art that looked incredible and tasted even better. From the moment I saw it, I knew this wasn't just food; it was an experience. The craftsmanship? Immaculate. The way the salmon was layered like delicate petals, the sashimi rose centerpiece, and the intricate toppings of crispy seaweed, mango, and sesame seeds--every detail was stunning. It looked too beautiful to eat (but trust me, I did). The taste? Unreal. Every bite was an explosion of freshness, umami, and perfect balance--silky sashimi, creamy layers, a touch of spice, and just the right amount of crunch. It was the ultimate fusion of flavor and texture, better than anything I've ever had from a standard sushi roll. If you ever have the chance to order from SushiFriend, DO IT. 1000/10, would celebrate like this again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Soooo a few of my friends had told me about this place and I took awhile to give it a try. The perfect reason for a visit came up a few days ago and my friend and I decided to go. Parking is fine in the back lots of room in the gravel parking lot. Upon entering we were greeted nicely from the staff in the kitchen area with instructions on how to use the iPad for ordering, etc. They have a great lineup of sushi and sides as well as drinks. We got a few beers ordered some sushi and sides of miso soup and seaweed salad. The room next to kitchen area has like eight tables and we grabbed one by the window. The space is nice and chill. The sushi was awesome! In fact it all was perfect.
google avatar

Giovanni P.

Yelp
First off the food is good! Huge platters with lots to love. We got a platter with 7 smaller rolls and a o toro bento box. Price is definitely there and flavor was good. Parking in the back and self seating/service. I would say this makes a great spot to get some rolls on the go or if you're looking for a quick bite. Not the best sushi or nigiri I have ever had but a solid 8/10. Would come again!
google avatar

Christopher J.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with my husband and in-laws and had an amazing time. I've had Sushi Friend on my list for some time and finally knocked it out. The food was incredible and absolutely delicious. Everything in here is sleek and modern. The staff was SO kind. Definitely a cute spot worth visiting and putting in our rotation. Can't wait to be back.

Yelp
A completely different sushi experience! It's fun & fast paced. The inside is quite tiny but functional. When you first walk in you will be happily greeted by the sushi chefs. As you keep walking in, steer right straight up to the 2 ordering kiosks where you will decide what to order & drink then pay. We sat at the bar area which was quite entertaining watching all the magic being performed by the sushi chefs. There's a lot of pick up orders going on as well so there's a ton of traffic in this tiny establishment. With this is mind, you know your sushi will be fresh! After paying & seating yourself, you'll get your drinks from the fridge, utensils & napkins. When our order was up, we dug right in! The quality of the sushi was top notch!! Although it didn't look like there was a lot of food, we were full with our order. I loved how clean, efficient & happy this place is-the quality of the food makes it extra! 10/10
google avatar

Darci Y.

Yelp
It's no surprise this sushi establishment has been part of yelps top 100 nationwide! It is always delicious, the customer service is amazing, and it was super busy... Especially for being so close to closing time. They have expanded the parking in back and expanded to add seating and a restroom. Great place!
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
Ambiance is intimate. It is a small sitting restaurant with 4 2-person tables and small bar area. Super cute and the smell in there is divine because it is small. Love that sushi smell! The sushi is very good! Amazing quality. We order to go and it's always delicious!
google avatar

Beverly B.

Yelp
The best sushi place in town. The rolls were so fresh and delicious. The staff is super friendly. I will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Ethan N.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. I've gone twice now, the first time was over a year ago, I ordered the specialty roll combo platter, it was very hit or miss with each roll I tried. This time, I went for the poke bowl and some basic rolls, it was very good. Poke bowl had good weight to it and the fish was very tender and had a well balanced marinade. The spicy tuna roll is the best I've had, a very basic roll, but I love how they kept the minced tuna more chunky, small detail but it makes a difference when there's only a few ingredients. The interior is very clean and the kitchen space is open. When I picked up my order, they were breaking down a tuna, I have no experience with eyeing fish quality, but the color/texture looked very good, I trust they source their fish from good places. Overall, I'd say if you are visiting for the first time, go for a poke bowl and some basic rolls, it's a great introduction to what they have to offer.

Yelp
Okay, I had no clue that I hadn't reviewed Sushi Friend yet! We stumbled upon this little place a few years back when they didn't have any tables yet, so we sat at the bar and were served by the single chef (and owner?) who seemed to be primarily running an amazing takeout business for the surrounding neighborhood. We returned a few months ago, and now Sushi Friend has a little more in-store presence with a few small tables. I have no doubt they could fill a full restaurant if they wanted to expand! The sushi is always fresh, service is friendly, and I love following their Instagram and salivating over the fancy sushi they make for events and parties. My 11 month old future Yelper is a huge sushi fan, so I expect we'll be ordering her a sushi cake from Sushi Friend once it's socially acceptable!
google avatar

Sebastian P.

Yelp
Yes it's on a Yelp list. Yes it's in a random location with a dirt parking lot. Yes you have to order on a screen then go sit down. And finally yes, it's very worth it. Sushi was great, fresh, and vibrant in a way. The staff interaction was good, but tough to rate when they just bring food over. The outside, including dirt lot, plays into the surprisingly neat and clean interior to go along with the great sushi. Fresh wasabi (not just the green horseradish paste) is always a huge plus for sushi - nice add on and well worth the premium.
google avatar

Alin S.

Yelp
Most amazing sushi place in the Valley: sushi and the crew! All their rolls are soooo good! Sushi and Sashimi are fresh!
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
So this space is very small but they make do. They are friendly and quick to turn our orders, they if you go during peak meal times you may have to wait. The sushi is great though, it's worth going if you haven't been, you may find a new favorite sushi spot.
google avatar

Ambrose T.

Yelp
Hands down my FAVORITE SUSHI PLACE. I almost want to gate keep this place. The fish taste fresh AF. The flavors are delicate and smooth. I've had their sashimis, rolls, and bowls. Although this is an order at the counter type place... there is plenty of dining space. You can definitely take a casual date here. For this type of restaurant, I'm absolutely impressed by the service and friendliness of the staff. Full service restaurants could learn a thing or two from Sushi Friend.
google avatar

Pookie B.

Yelp
Honestly when I walked in my first thought was that it looked like a complicated situation to order and that the food might be "meh". First impression was wrong. Ordering on the screens they had set up was easy. The food was fresh and amazing. Will definitely hit it up again when in the area.
google avatar

Hailey R.

Yelp
Sushi Friend lived up to the hype! It's a fun, non-pretentious spot that serves up some delicious and fresh sushi. My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. The interior is bright and the employees are friendly. We ordered on the kiosk, and even though they were fairly busy with orders, our sushi came out in 15-20 minutes. The X Bowl was fresh and delicious with a very generous amount of tuna and salmon. Highlights from the Premium Platter were the Seared Salmon roll and Kiro Roll.

Iesha L.

Yelp
The sushi here is delicious and good quality. I highly recommend! We ordered the premium platter with fire dragon roll, yuzu salmon and Kiro roll

Yelp
Being rated on a Yelp Top 10 list is like being nominated for an Acadeny award. S/o to Sushi Friend for being nominated #3 on Yelps top sushi restaurants. We decided order take out on Valentine's Day. It appeared about 25 other couples had the same idea. We decided to build our own platter of 5 rolls. Every roll was unique but my two favorites were the Seared salmon roll and Sushislope roll. We waited about 90 minutes for our food on Valentines but it was absolutely worth the wait. The ambiance is dope. The owner and staff are high energy and entertaining. The sushi is prepared openly. S/o to whoever was DJing. A restaurant like Sushi Friend can be transformational for an area. I don't have enough superlatives to give, but it is worth the drive from wherever you are in PHX.
google avatar

Sophia R.

Yelp
Incredible sushi. Amazing. Fresh. To die for. Nothing else matters. The rolls were so so so good. Restaurant has a cool open kitchen vibe which is cool to see how the sushi is made. Ordered online for pickup and was ready super fast! Looking forward to ordering one of the "sushi cakes" they offer for a friend's birthday.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
Quick lunch on a Saturday. The place is small and does a brisk take out business. We opted to dine in. The ambiance is very minimal, but clean and modern. The menu is pretty varied - hand rolls, cut rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and some bowls as well. We went for a some standard stuff - spicy tuna roll, spicy California roll, salmon, and mahi. All were well prepared and tasted good. Portion size was food as well. The service while tablet based was still engaging and friendly. Would recommend, would repeat... N*joy

Camille D.

Yelp
The very best sushi in Arizona. If you love good quality sushi that tastes fresh and delicious , this is THE spot! I appreciate sashimi or nigiri, you have to try it. The ambiance is nice, the employees are always super nice. I ordered accidentally for a different day and they were accommodating for my mistake. I live about 45 minutes away from this place but I always make it a point to come and drive here to have their sushi because it is that amazing!

Yelp
I was finally in the area and knew this place had to be the spot for some late lunch / early dinner. The restaurant is easy to miss as it is in a neighborhood looking area and the building is small. We parked in the back as all the spots in the front were taken. We walked in and we were greeted right away. There were three employees manning the front and they were all busy. It was busy. There was a party of three in front of, party of two for me, and another party of two behind us. There was a big party of 8 waiting for their food, and two parties of two already eating. Ordering was easy as you do it on a kiosk and you can check your wait time on your phone. (They provide you a link where you can check your order and place in line) I ordered two specialty rolls and one miso soup. My rolls were: 1 Seared King Salmon Roll and 1 Scallop Dyno Roll. My total was $42. My sisters order was: 1 Cucumber salad, 1 King Salmon Avocado Roll and 1 Spicy Cali Roll. Her total was $31. We went outside to wait on a bench as there was no room inside. Halfway through our quoted wait time of 40 minutes, my miso soup was brought out to me in a cup. The soup was very hot - as a miso soup should be. The broth tasted reallllly good as it was very flavorful. I was expecting seaweed or tofu pieces in it but this miso soup only consisted of the broth and nothing else. At this time, we went inside as a table cleared up. Not long after, our rolls were ready. My rolls were delicious and my favorite one out of the two was the Seared King Salmon Roll and my sisters Spicy Cali Roll was the best of the two, it was just not at all spicy. The cucumber salad is a must. It was cold, refreshing, tasty, and crunchy. Service was great as the employees were friendly and they even thanked us for coming in as we got up to leave. I would definitely come by again when in the area!

Yelp
Ranked #3 on Yelp's Top 10 US Sushi Spots 2023? It's soy easy to see why. I visited Sushi Friend shortly after the list was released. It's located in a small, unassuming building. There's only a few parking spots in the front, but a lot more in the back. My friend and I were greeted promptly after entering. Sushi Friend is a fast casual restaurant. It's self-order through a device at the counter then they bring out your order. The space is small and is meant for quick bites or to-go orders. My friend and I shared the X bowl ($25.50) and the hamachi serrano roll ($14.50). The X bowl comes with tuna and salmon poke, yuzu onions, avocado, serrano chili, crispy onions, and half rice, half salad. This is one of their teammates, Xavier's personal creation and it's excellent! It has all the best parts of poke and sushi combined. The hamachi serrano roll comes with kanikama (crab stick), spicy mayo, serrano chili, and garlic ponzu. This one also hit the spot! The fish looked and tasted very fresh. Plus, you can watch the staff prepare them on the spot. I'll roll with Sushi Friend any day!

I love their simple and minimalistic branding, it was what originally the reason I wanted to try them in the first place. This more on the to-go/ takeaway style restaurant so be mindful. Order from a tablet, and they will have minimal seating, no more than 2 people at a table. The quality of the sushi was fresh, it was flavorful as I got the 3 rolls for $45. A little pricier than most but being in north Phoenix I understand the marketed area. I wish they were a little bit closer south in the metro area but overall would visit again!

Yelp
We came here for a birthday celebration and it did not disappoint! The food is crazy delicious and fresh. The employees were super friendly and helpful for our first time ordering and suggested different beers to try. It it is mostly a takeout restaurant, not a sit down, have a waiter experience just for info.

Yelp
Sushi Friend is a great place to order sushi to go. There is indoor seating to dine in but the seating is minimal. The sushi is so good so it's definitely worth a try. I would recommend ordering online if you'd like to do a quick grab-and-go. We ordered when we got there and the wait was not too bad, about 15 minutes but it was worth the wait. The best part, if you want to watch magic of the sushi making, you have a great view of the process.

Yelp
Great food, weird hours. Get there at least 30 minutes early if you want to order take out. Online says they take walk in until 7 but they don't. If you arrive 6:45 or later they'll tell you they're closed already. *update to owner response - 6:55pm tonight. Along with two previous times with the same result approx 6:45-6:50pm. The review is strictly based on the fact the website is misleading. Screenshot attached. 6:45, 6:58, etc. Walk-ins are not welcome until 7pm is the point. Again, will recommend your food to anyone. It's fantastic.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday night around 5:30-6pm. Just enough people but not a long wait (maybe 10 min after ordering) . Every staff member was super nice, I would say some of the nicest in Phoenix. I like the soy sauce station and the little containers have lids which is nice as a leftover person. Cute decor, plain and simple yet cheerful. Parking is hard in back though, and the place is easy to miss, tucked in right next to a tattoo shop. So flavorful and fresh. Will be back.

Yelp
We went in around 3:40pm, no wait and only two other people sitting down. You order on a tablet at the counter, we did get welcomed in and they asked us if we had any questions. Menu and drinks I will say is quite limited but was able to find something me and friend both liked. We ordered a spicy tuna & salmon roll, sushi rice, miso soup, and a poke bowl. It totaled to around $64 with $8 tip. It's a chill casual spot with fresh sushi. Overall, I would rate this place a solid 4 considering everything.
