The 19 Best Sushi Restaurants In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Amidst the chaos that is Crossroads’ indoor mall food court, you’ll find one of the best sushi spots on the Eastside. Sushi J serves a pretty limited selection of excellent maki rolls and chirashi bowls, but the one item to prioritize is their seared salmon nigiri. It’s the only nigiri here that’s available in a platter of 10 pieces, and for good reason: the rice is seasoned perfectly, there isn’t too much spicy mayo over the top, and the high-quality fish dissolves like a pat of butter. This blowtorched majesty is so good that we can’t think about it without experiencing the same forlorn yearning that a fairytale princess feels in the beginning of a children’s book. Google
Love this place! We found this place through Mikey Chen's YouTube and I am glad we did! The food quality is really good. Very fresh and you can tell from the look and the smell. Inexpensive pricing and taste good too! I hope they can keep this pricing for awhile. The seared salmon is very nice. Seared on top and raw at the bottom. Perfect 50/50 I think. The regular seared salmon sushi is better than the spicy version. The rolls.. they were bigger than I thought and it felt like eating a sushi burrito 😆 I don't like coming to Crossroads mall, my experience is that there are not much stores I can shop from, the food places are bad and overall dark and feels outdated...doesn't look clean. But now I will definitely come here more often and can't wait to share this place with my friends.

Google
Definitely worth trying. I like Sushi here. I am not a big Sushi connoisseur but I definitely love their Avocado Salmon Sushi and Spicy Seared Salmon Sushi. I also like the ginger they give - nothing unusual but putting it out. They have kept it simple - limited items on menu but what they have they make it good. I am sure there are places which will be better than this - after all it just seems like a food outlet in Crossroads. Given there is no extra service you get - essentially you order and then you take your own tray - I feel it's kind of stupid for them to set a default tip of 18%. The tip culture in US is horrendous and it's just getting worse.

Google
I would not say this is the best sushi I have ever try. The bowl size is impressive. The idea of green salad leaves is smart, healthy and makes me want to come back here. Everything is fresh and good. My order was ready just in 5 min. Worth you come visit and give it to try.

Google
I saw Sushi J featured in a Mikey Chen video and decided to check it out since I LOVE seared salmon!! The seared salmon here is amazing!!! It has a bit of a smokey flavor and it comes with the right amount of sauce that's not overpowering. Plus chef J is such a nice guy!!! I love supporting him and his delicious sushi!

Google
Good sushi with relatively good value. Have gotten the 10 piece seared salmon, sashimi bowl, sushi combo, salmon bowl, and the mosaic roll. I’d say the sushi combo and the seared salmon are the best. The bowls have good quantity, but the rice feels a little dense. Otherwise a very good experience with fresh fish. Will have to try their poke bowls.

Google
For the price, it's good quality sushi/sashimi. Did I also mention that the portions are huge? The sashimi bowl combo must have weighed at least 2 pounds! Follow my instagram for a more detailed review: @nikon.foodie

Google
Perhaps the best seared salmon in town, the chef are very nice, last week we tried once and my daughter loved it so much, so we came to here for second time, the chef said oh I remember you last time you ordered seared salmon, do you like it? The answer is definitely yes. We will definitely come again. Highly recommend seared salmon.

Google
I ordered a sushi combo via Doordash. When I came home and opened the package, I found out one piece of meat is missing on top of the sushi. Their chef could have paid more attention to the details. Other than that, their food quality is very good, and price is reasonable compared to regular sushi restaurant near by. Tip: if you use Doordash, don't place an order after 6pm. Although they officially close at 7:30pm, they don't take any more pick up order after 6pm.

Yelp
I've been here a few years back when it was called Sushi J. Since the new name, Mix Sushi Bar delivers high quality delicious sushi! Mostly everyone on here has praised high on their seared salmon and they're not wrong! They have the seared salmon bowl and rolls. When it was Sushi J, I remembered getting the seared salmon bowl and it was define! I went back last Tuesday with my mom and we loved their seared salmon rolls. 10 rolls for $20 ... that's up there in price but worth it in my eyes. Their other items look so good! Gonna be back soon! The service is also delightful! They had served waters with our meal and all the utensils and napkins, including soy sauce :)

Yelp
Located in the Crossroads mall food court, I have been going here since they were called Sushi J. Even after the renaming, the place still is my go-to spot for takeout sushi. Their most popular item is undoubtedly the seared salmon, and for good reason. I order this every time I visit, because it is that good. They also have a variety of other sushi items, with an expanding menu that seems to get bigger each time I visit. I usually order ahead of time on their online ordering site, and the food is ready by the time I arrive. There is also seating, as it's in the food court area of the crossroads mall.

Yelp
The Seared Salmon! Get it! I get it as a 50-50 half spicy mix with no green onions. The fish is always tender and delicious and the ginger is always fresh! Crave-able!

Yelp
Came here to try the seared salmon nigiri. It's came out to ~23$ for 10 pieces. I got half spicy and half regular and I'm surprised to say I prefer the regular. I'm usually a fan of something with a little spice but it kind of took away from the flavor of the fish. The rice to fish ratio is good as well. The rolls aren't massive but definitely not small. I'd say it's good to satisfy a craving, but did not serve as a full meal for me.

Yelp
Seared salmon! That's really all you need to know. If anyone remembers Sushi J, MIX Sushi Bar recently took over its spot in the Crossroads food court, sporting an almost identical menu with some additional offerings. Simply order at the kiosk and they'll text and call out your number when ready. For every $50 spent, you earn $5 off your next order, which is a pretty good deal since you can obtain this reward relatively quickly. For $20, their 10-piece SEARED SALMON can be ordered regular, spicy or half of each. I always go with half of each and every bite is true bliss. The salmon is lightly torched on top giving it a delicious smoky flavor while having a silky smooth texture underneath. It's topped with a drizzle of creamy sauce, a light soy glaze and chopped green onion. The spicy version is sprinkled with a chili seasoning (Shichimi Togarashi) that gives it an extra oomph and noticeable heat. My companions and I have grabbed food here multiple times and would also consider the following to be highlights: * California Roll (generously sized) * MIX Roll (a California Roll topped with seared salmon) * Seared Combo (salmon, tamago & unagi) * Sushi Combo (14 pieces, mainly a nigiri assortment) All the items that we've tried look exactly as advertised in the photos along their wall and the containers are always packed so nicely. It's rare that I return to a spot again and again for the same item, but I just can't stray from their seared salmon. It's THAT good!

Yelp
I came here at 1:45 PM on Thursday and ordered my food at the kiosk. I decided to go for their gochujang seared salmon 10 piece. The salmon was very fresh! The sauce was okay-I think it could have used more personality. Thankfully not too sweet, but the sauce wasn't memorable. They had the option in the kiosk to add sauces for $1 each, which I declined. The only thing I would change about this was the price. I think considering the service is all remote, the prices were a little steep. This cost me $22 (including tip). I'm glad I tried something new though.

Yelp
Many Eastside diners are fans of the Sushi J that suddenly closed after being an immensely popular (Yelp top 100) and approachable sushi eatery in Crossroads Mall. A new eatery called Mix Sushi Bar has opened with nearly identical menu at the same location. The famous seared salmon is back. They added a seared combo, too. The bowls are back also. Rejoice! I ordered my food for take-out, and it was ready on time. No complaints. For my food, I ordered two dishes that are same as previous for comparisons. The Food: Seared Salmon, 10pc, $19.99 - 5 Stars A generous cut of salmon, wonderfully seared, and these pieces taste identical to the previous preparation. Yum! Mosaic Roll, 5pc, $13.99 - 5 Stars These are the mega-sized diameter rolls with salmon, tuna, hamachi, tamago, and krab salad. They are as difficult to eat as before due to the size, and I still enjoy every piece! Lol.

Yelp
Still love this place even after the price has gone up. I got the sashimi bowl and the mosaic roll. The sashimi bowl is great portions with poke. Super tasty and easy ordering. Food court makes this super casual and great for kids.
google avatar

Kolt K.

Yelp
Fish was fresh, they had regular rice and presentation beautiful. I like that they added some poke under the 9 slices of sashimi. I ordered the sushi combo, 3 pieces of Salmon, Hamachi and Tuna. The service was like home (HI), guys was friendly and easy to talk to. Tables were clean and the ambiance was relaxed but lively. I would recommend if you need something quick and quality sashimi go to Mix Sushi Bar at the Lincoln center.

Yelp
Excellent quality sushi in the main food court of the crossroads mall. Across from the library and QFC store
google avatar

Sherry W.

Yelp
I really love tamago sushi and this place has an excellent one. I've never been a huge seared sushi person but the seared salmon sushi here is definitely their star. It is so good!
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
I love that they specialize in seared rolls, which I absolutely love! My favorite is the Seared Combo which has seared salmon, seared unagi and seared tamago. The menu just has so many great options to choose from to satisfy all your sushi cravings. They have 2 new vegetarian/vegan rolls too - Midori Roll and Tofu Blast. I was told they're going to add some options for the non-raw fish eaters on the menu soon. The service is fast and super friendly! I love how convenient it is to order from their for either dine in at the Crossroads Mall food court or to-go.

Yelp
I saw this place highly reviewed on IG. Just so happened to be at the Crossroads and decided to give it a try. Truthfully the cost was high and the quality was low. Taste was ok. The rice was not fresh and soft. It tasted more like day old rice. Kinda hard. Service was ok. It's located in the food court so it's ok. Would not try again.

Yelp
This place has taken over Sushi J at crossroads Mall..the menu is exactly the same though with the addition of a couple of new items. I ordered online and good thing I did because there was a long line of people ordering lunch. I got the seared combo and it was literally the same as sushi j. Delicious. Definitely would come back to try the rest of the menu to see if it's consistent.

Yelp
Whoa whoa whoa the food is amazing here! I think this is my favorite place to eat over here. I ordered a salmon bowl. Very fast service, amazing food, and kind people. I'll 100% be back someday!

Yelp
The seared combo was good! Very smoky charred flavor from the flame. Service was very fast too!
google avatar

Hong T.

Yelp
First time here! Very similar menu to Sushi J, the seared salmon is pretty much identical. Fast and friendly service. This place can get pretty busy during the lunch and dinner rush but you can also order online for pick up!
google avatar

Yelp
This places specializes in seared sushi. I really enjoy the spicy California roles wrapped in seared salmon. My fiancé got the sashimi bowl which was a great value on so much fish! Everything was fresh, beautiful and tasty. The food was ready super quickly, too. I recommend ordering through their website for the best value if you order online. This is a great spot for a quick and easy takeout dinner. It's part of the food court area at Crossroads Mall, so there's nothing particularly special about the ambiance.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Happy to find this sushi spot back in crossroads mall! Not sure if it's the same owners as before but just a different restaurant name but the menu is similar to sushi J. I got the sashimi combo bowl w chirashi on top of 2 scoops of poke, salad and rice to compare. Fish was fresh, poke was not marinated (was surprised about this) but portion size and presentation is great and good value for what you get. Will definitely return for my sushi fix when in the area again!

Yelp
If you are ever in the Crossroads for sushi, I recommend Mix Sushi Bar. In the same location as Sushi J and also serves similar dishes as Sushi J. Quick, clean, and nice service. There are ample amounts of seating in the food court where Mix Sushi Bar is located. I ordered the half-and-half spicy seared salmon and the mix sushi roll. Everything was so delicious and filling. I am a definite salmon lover and mix sushi bar hits the spot. Not many places serve seared salmon and mix sushi bar did it right. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely delicious sushi in Crossroads mall. Price point is great and love that there are so many options. The fish tastes fresh and the rice isn't mushy. Don't you HATE when sushi rice is mushy?! I do. Luckily Mix Sushi Bar doesn't make mushy rice. Their seared sushi's are hands down my fave and I'm already craving more.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite sushi spots! I always get the seared combo and the seared salmon. The seared stuff is what they do best, even Mikey Chen came here for the seared salmon. Good value and the service is always quick.
google avatar

Cody W.

Yelp
These folks make fantastic sushi for the price point. The manager is always so happy! They even give good recommendations if I'm feeling picky. Love the tuna. Oh, and they decorate for the holidays!
google avatar

R P.

Yelp
QFC's sushi is better. I got the spicy mixed roll here (seared salmon on top of California roll). The whole roll was SOGGY. Avocado was runny..weird. Had to do a double take while eating to see if it was even real avocado. Rice had no flavor (usually you taste vinegar). I would not recommend.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Sushi J is back (mostly)! Used to come here all the time as it was a hidden gem (tucked at the end of the food court). Seared salmon was my favorite and it hasn't changed! I say it's "mostly" back as there are new owners, a new name but they have kept the same menu (with a few new additions for vegans), and I recognize all the staff. Not sure what happened with the previous owner but I was sad to see them closed down when I came by late last year. My other go to is the salmon sashimi bowl. Sooo much fresh salmon and it even includes a side of salmon poke! I always order ahead on ordertogo and it's ready for pick up when I arrive.

Henry W.

Yelp
I will just tell you the food here is not fresh I got really bad food poisoning from the California roll and almost all the avocado had large black spots on them 100% prerolled and stored for days or they just don't even care

Allie R.

Yelp
Tastes hood with pretty decent portions for the price, ordering food is done through a tablet with minimal communication and options to customize your order. This is either good or bad depending on your preferences. The seared stuff I've heard is a little lacking in flavor sauce-wise. That hasn't been a problem for me since my regular is the tuna roll.

Yelp
1000/10 I love this place so much!! The fish was fresh and the rice is of good quality. Service was amazing too, the guy working there was so sweet! :) Would recommend to anyone, genuinely made my day.

Kawin N.

Yelp
They make a great eel! It is soft and has just the right amount of char. And very flavorful!
