Favorite sushi spot as a vegetarian! They have a variety of vegetarian/vegan rolls & hot dishes to choose from. My favorite dish is the hibachi vegetables (pictured below) with white rice. It’s so flavorful and they give such a generous portion. I also love getting the avocado cucumber rolls, peanut avocado rolls, their udon stir fry with vegetables & the vegetable fried rice (fried rice comes with egg so just let your server know if you don’t eat eggs). They’re always so accommodating. Highly recommend for vegetarians or anyone looking for flavorful fresh food!

Truly one of my favorite sushi spots in Fairfield county! Everything is always soo fresh and the flavors unlike any other. My favorite go to’s here are: The Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, the Chicken Fried Rice, any of the Taco Nori’s and the pork gyoza and wagyu beef dumplings are addicting😍 I come with family and friends all the time and they love it! Drinks also amazing and so unique! Pro tip: try your crispy rice with a side of spicy mayo and wasabi mayo- chefs kiss. A must try!!!

Made a reservation days in advance to dine here on NYE and wish we had skipped. Upon arrival it was utter chaos with UberEats drivers filling up the rotunda to get into the restaurant. We check in a few minutes early and wait for our table. We then see the hostess, asking every party in front of us, whose reservations were earlier, if they would sit at the sushi bar as other tables would not be ready for at least 15 to 20 minutes. They ask us the same and we say no problem, we’ll sit at the bar. Upon being seated, we are at the actual bar, not the sushi bar. We are greeted by the bartenders and then realize we are in a complete splash zone. Drinks are flying everywhere, they are fighting for their lives to eat on top of orders. We were offered comped drinks for giving up our table. I don’t drink, they still offered a comped Diet Coke which was very nice. They also delivered edamame to us, as if it were comped, come to find out it was not our order and they take it away from us. The host said they would bring us one on them, apologizes for the confusion. We then had to flag the bartenders down (they were literally standing in front of us, but wouldn’t acknowledge that we were waiting to order, menus closed and giving eye contact) so we had to ask to place an order. I asked a question about the difference between two dishes, which I got a run around over and over, but never the answer I was looking for. I saw my server from last time dining here and asked if I could speak to him to ask the question. He was much more attentive and asked if we had any additional questions on the sushi menu as well. We re-order the edamame, and our meal. Edamame never comes out, and my hot food comes out about 20 minutes later. We are told the sushi is coming out in a minute. We then were told that they were extremely slammed and doing their best to get the sushi out. I finish my meal and about 20 minutes goes by and the sushi finally comes out. While we were waiting for the sushi, we watched multiple orders for takeout be prepared prior to people who were dining in the restaurant. They kept “checking in” on us asking how everything was and We repeatedly said we are still waiting on her sushi. At the end of the meal, we were asked if everything was OK and I said honestly no. This is a very expensive restaurant, we understand that it’s New Year’s Eve, but our meal was horrific and we were better off staying home. They did not offer to take anything off the bill, and I had to tell them that this was completely unacceptable service. They kept trying to push alcoholic beverages on us after I had said multiple times that I do not drink. We get our bill and the sushi is taken off, but the “complementary” Drinks were still on the bill. I told them that the hostess offered comped drinks (we watched her tell them this, and soda too!) for giving up our original table and sitting at the bar. They then adjust our bill, and still left the soda on. It’s not about the money, it’s about the principle. We were so fed up that we just paid so we could get out of there. On the way out he hands me (the one who said multiple times that I don’t drink) a bottle of sake “on them” as if it were an apology… every table received one. Needless to say, it will be hard to justify coming back here. The food is good, but not worth the hassle.

Best sushi in Fairfield County! Freshness, quality and selection of seafood can't be beat! Creative menu offerings. Large sake selection. Professional, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Chef Jerry and team are highly skilled and innovative. Bartenders Gabrielle and Mallory are friendly and nice. Tip #1: Weekday and weekend dinner hours are super busy. Make a reservation, table or bar. Tip #2: Go and sit at the bar in the afternoon when they're less busy and you might be party to one of the chef's off-menu creations! Tip #3: Order a large bottle of sake and ask to be served in the glass sake dispenser. You can also choose your own sake cup.

I stopped in here on a whim while running errands and was SO pleasantly surprised by the lunch special. 3 rolls and the best ginger dressing salad I have ever had for $18! Service was quick and kind and my food was fresh and delicious. I would absolutely return.

Stunning room with NYC energy, especially at night. Friendly, attentive staff. Prices are great. Food is fine—nothing memorable—but fair for what you pay.

This sushi restaurant left a great impression on me! The interior is clean and cozy, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere. The sushi is made with fresh ingredients, and you can really taste the chef’s craftsmanship in every bite. Besides sushi, other dishes are also delicious and authentic. What surprised me the most is the price—it’s very affordable and offers great value for money. Whether you’re dining with friends or enjoying a meal alone, this place is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

We’ve been to Sushi Jin 10 plus times and without a doubt it is one of our favorites in Westport. The food and atmosphere are beyond exceptional … yet the one thing that differentiates Sushi Jin the most is the Service! All of the staff are amazing and we have never felt more comfortable and at home with everyone at Sushi Jin. We must give a very special “Shout Out” to Natalie - she is like family and is not only an amazing server yet a wonderful friend to our entire family. It’s about the entire experience and it’s always beyond amazing . Keep doing all you’re doing - We love everything about Sushi Jin!

Yelp
An absolute gem and easily my new favorite sushi restaurant. From the moment we walked in, I was immediately struck by how sleek and aesthetically pleasing the interior was. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern sophistication and warmth, making you feel instantly comfortable while still knowing you're in for something special. The service was excellent throughout the evening, attentive without ever being intrusive. Every staff member we interacted with was professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about providing a great dining experience. The drinks were superb. I ordered the Sake Mule, and my wife had the Gin Yuzu cocktail. Both were so refreshing and well-balanced that we almost forgot there was alcohol in them. The flavors were bright, smooth, and incredibly well-crafted. As for the food, every single dish from appetizers to dessert was absolutely divine. The sushi was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor, easily some of the best I've ever had. The roasted lobster was decadent and cooked to perfection, rich and satisfying without being overly heavy. This place checks every box with its stunning ambiance, exceptional service, creative cocktails, and flawless food. It's rare to find a restaurant that executes so well on every level, but this one absolutely does. I can confidently say it's my new favorite sushi spot, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

Yelp
First time dining at Sushi Jin - and it won't be our last! I am ambivalent on giving out 5 stars which I rarely do. On the one hand I really don't want to let the secret out because it's not the biggest place so I am not sure they can handle many more customers, but they definitely deserve my endorsement as I am not sure what they could possibly have done better! Convenient parking at the church across the street, very nice ambiance, our server was Kevin was great, and most importantly we really enjoyed our meal! It was our anniversary and we were tempted to try their omakase, but we ended up going with their restaurant week prix fixe menu instead which included a cocktail, appetizer, entree and dessert. We ended up adding CA and Hokkaido uni sushi to top it all off - delicious! Everything was plated nicely , portions good and flavors awesome. Even the standard tuna roll was great which is surprising as I am usually not impressed with anything so basic. Next time, omakase.

Yelp
There are meals that satiate, and there are meals that elevate -- Sushi Jin belongs firmly in the latter category. Tucked modestly into Westport, it is, in every sense, a culinary sanctum: a space where discipline, grace, and technique quietly converge in service of something far greater than mere dining. From the moment one crosses the threshold, there is an unmistakable feeling of entering a temple of craft. The interior, minimalist and serene, suggests an ethos of understatement, where the focus remains unwaveringly on the quality of the fish and the integrity of the preparation. What unfolds from the chef's hand is less a menu and more a narrative of balance: buttery Hokkaido scallop touched by yuzu; otoro so tender and marbled it verges on the transcendent. Each bite lands with precision and poise -- not merely flavorful, but emotionally uplifting. There is confidence in the restraint: no overwrought sauces, no gratuitous garnishes. Just simplicity and excellence. Service is equally refined: attentive, warm, and unhurried. It is a space where silence is allowed to speak, and where every detail -- from the temperature of the rice to the subtle grain of the ceramic dishware -- has been considered, not decorated. Sushi Jin is not about novelty. It is about fidelity -- to season, to heritage, to the hard discipline of sushi as it is meant to be practiced. In an age of noise, this restaurant whispers.

Yelp
Place went downhill, the service is absolutely terrible, food quality has suffered. Several times they have screed up the reservation. Tonight we were added to the wait list and told it's like be a 15 minute wait for a table. Brought my whole family over there. Upon arrival greeted by the unfriendly hostess. She said they did not have any tables all night and that there was a problem with the reservation system. They offered nothing and showed no consideration. We have seen a decline in the food since they have opened and gotten busier. This place would never survive in NYC, Portland or Austin where there are multiple high quality dining options.

Yelp
Interior was beautiful, service was alright, food was delicious! I would say their nigiri's are better than their rolls; the fish to rice ratio is perfection. Fresh and great for a date night. It was worth the $$

Yelp
Just ok. Sushi is serviceable and good for weeknight takeout but be prepared for them to screw up your order if you call-in. My kids like the miso and the chicken fried rice. Overpriced of course (but that's Westport for you). And I find the vibe in this place to be off. The front of house is curt, barely polite, and off putting. Terrible first impression. I will not be returning. Too many other good options in Westport.

Yelp
I loved this new Westport restaurant! Great space with fun vibe! Amazing food. Loved everything we had: popcorn shrimp, crispy rice with tuna, seared sushi to peppers, Truffle King Salmon and two sushi rolls (forget which ones, but they were delicious and beautifully presented). Service was good even though we sat towards the back of the restaurant, which always worries me (out of sight, out of mind). I cannot wait to go again!!!

Yelp
Not only is this one of the best sushi restaurants in the area but Sushi Jin is in the running for my favorite sushi spot of all time. Absolute amazing sushi with very good attention to detail. The omakase had good variation of flavors and amazing texture.

Yelp
Checked out this new spot to see what their sushi was like! My husband got their omakase which he really enjoyed! I tried the hand rolls and the soup dumplings! The dumplings were the perfect amount of soup and meat and very flavorful! All the fish was very fresh! The restaurant is a pretty good size too and as our time went on there it got more and more packed! Staff is very friendly and we'll definitely be back to try something new next time!

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night with a few guy friends. The owner/manager was very friendly and chatted with us for a few minutes before we sat. Food was very tasty (had seconds of a few dishes) and drinks were solid.

Yelp
Very nice, hip, City vibe at this new, and beautiful restaurant. The bar is stunning and long enough to accommodate about 20 people. The food is fresh and delicious and the lunch special was quite reasonable.

Yelp
This is the best sushi that I have had in a long time. The service was amazing. Our waiter was so helpful. The decor is great and the ambiance perfect. Can't wait to go back. Have the chefs special it was amazing.

Yelp
Wonderful food in a spectacular setting. We ordered a lot of good and enjoyed the miso cod, miso eggplant, and dim sum starters. The special sushi rolls were outstanding. We were disappointed by the rather mushy noodles but this was outweighed by how pleased we were with everything else We now know why it's hard to get a reservation

Yelp
This place is out of this world! Cuisine is amazing and staff are friendly and kind. They had a few growing pains and adjustments, like any new restaurant has, and are running so smoothly! We go every week. Yvette the manager and Yoyo the owner are so accommodating and kind. Incredibly fresh and clean food, excellent ambiance and outstanding service! Best sushi in Fairfield county, hands down!

Ashley M.

Yelp
Best crispy rice, people working there are very nice, and beautiful restaurant. I love this place!!

Yelp
Better than I expected. The sweet shrimp and live scallop were very good. The uni was acceptable. Nice space and kid friendly. 3.5*

Yelp
Decor and vibe = 5 stars (chic design, lively cosmopolitan atmosphere). Food = 5 stars (elevated sushi and other interesting and tasty offerings that are nicely presented). Service = 4 stars (good but spotty...I attribute this to the newness of the place...gotta get the bugs out). Price = 5 stars (good value...surprisingly, the prices didn't break the bank!).

Mh S.

Yelp
Fresh food, creative selections, great ambience to eat in. Very busy near or on weekends, there will be a wait factor.

Yelp
Ordered for pick up. 45 mins late in being ready. Totally unacceptable. Food is good but without customer service what's the point?

Max F.

Yelp
East meets West. Incredible ingredient and technique driven food with western hospitality. Very busy restaurant with a line out the door that was expertly managed by the front of house staff.

Todd F.

Yelp
Have been to Sushi Jin since they opened quite often,, we have never been disappointed, the staff is excellent and the food and service is top notch. Jerry at the Sushi bar and Gabby behind the bar are excellent! Yvette the general manager is always welcoming!! They are only concerned that we are comfortable and enjoying our meal. The ambiance is perfect plenty of seating at the bar as well as in the restaurant! I always will highly recommend the westport location!

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience with a wonderful layout and great atmosphere. They even offer outdoor dining!

Yelp
Possibly my new favorite sushi place! Sushi Jin opened in July and we had the pleasure of stumbling upon it last night. The staff were pleasant and our bartender was awesome. The ambiance was cool chic, whites and tans, crisp, classic, smooth vibe. The place was bustling and getting busier by the minute. We were greeted affectionately and sat at the bar, which is fine by me, I'd rather sit at the bar when it's just two people. I got to observe the craft of making sushi and some pretty fabulous bartending skills I might say. I know I know, get to the food...we were out looking for light bites and settled on sushi. First, drinks. I had a Lycheetini with Grey Goose, refreshing, beautiful and delicious. My bf had a gin cocktail, Pearl something, the first listed on the cocktail menu, that was even more delicious! Pics below. Duck fried rice was a recommendation from the bartender, it was good but you have to like Peking Duck. For sushi, we ordered the shrimp roll, Summer Roll, and the Alaska roll. Everything was super fresh and melted in your mouth, perfect pairing and absolute deliciousness! I can't wait to go back and experience more of the menu and hopefully meet the owner to give him a thankful hug! I highly recommend Sushi Jin!! Make a reservation now....the secret may be getting out.....

Brooke B.

Yelp
Music was too loud and sushi rice was a bit too sweet. Otherwise very nice place for lunch.

Alison L.

Yelp
Food is incredible but service needs some help. We have now been a few times and every time we have been rushed out by the same sever. Twice now we have been seated in a makeshift patio table indoors which was obvious an after thought seated area. Will stick to ordering out only from here on!

Olivia C.

Yelp
This has become one of my favorite lunch spots, it has such a great calm vibe during the day for a quiet drink and sushi. Marcella and Gabby are the best employees, always worth making the stop here on a long day!

Jack T.

Yelp
The food was so good and the service was amazing. There was such nice people there. Met a lovely lady named evette who made sure we were all set and happy with everything. The hostess Katie was also super sweet with a sense of fashion. On top of all that, best sake bombs in North America. I probably put down 12 of those things after my sushi! Would recommend.

Jill C.

Yelp
The food here is terrific, if pricey. It's the service that still needs a lot of work. My first two visits left something to be desired in that department, but it's still newer and I'm willing to give any new spot time to work out the kinks. For a third visit, I was shopping in Westport and physically walked in and made a reservation for the same evening for 3 at 7:30. It was confirmed and I saw the correct time on the iPad used to make the reservation. I admit that I didn't immediately check the text message and missed that somehow the time was moved to 7:45. I could have lived with that. But when the two people I was meeting arrived, they were told that they were running so far behind, we would be waiting until 8:30 for our 7:45 reservation on a Wednesday evening (we hadn't requested an outside table either). Not only is that unreasonable, it was the dismissive attitude of the 3 people at the Host stand, utter lack of apology, or any attempt to make us feel welcome (how about offering a beverage if we were going to wait 45 minutes past our reservation?). Going out to dinner is more than just the food. It's the entire experience which certainly includes the service. While there was a half-hearted offer to return and "they'll make it right," after we called to tell management about the experience (because they can't correct something they're unaware of) we're reticent to go back and spend a lot of money on the chance the service has improved that dramatically, especially after our experience 3x now. Disappointing to say the least. And not sustainable in the long term.
