Sushi King

This place is unbelievably good!! The sushi chef takes so much pride in the beautiful food he creates. This is by far our favorite sushi place in the area. Give it a try!

I'm so glad another sushi spot took over this location. The new owners are fantastic and so is the sushi. Everything is always super fresh and delicious. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. Rolls aren't overloaded with rice like a lot of other places so you can actually taste the other ingredients. For poke bowl lovers... Sushi King does poke bowls right. Stop going to those poke chains and get it here instead. I promise you won't ever go back to those chains.

I had an amazing experience at Sushi King.The sushi was super fresh and tasted fantastic. The staff were really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The place was clean and had a nice, relaxed vibe. There was a great variety of sushi to choose from, and everything we tried was delicious. I especially loved the sashimi roll. It was one of the best sushi meals I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend checking this place out! Five stars all the way! 😋

I came here with my family to try it for the first time, and it did not disappoint! Everything was SO good and SO fresh. The sashimi pieces were so big! I also appreciate that they have fresh uni, it was so good. Other places serve uni, but you can taste right away that it’s not fresh. Atmosphere and service was great! It does take a while to get your food because there’s a limited number of people working, but we didn’t mind because it was well worth the wait! We will be back :)

My favorite sushi place by far! Ever since I discovered it, I can’t stop coming here! Always fresh and the staff is extremely friendly. :)

Very calm atmosphere. There is a TV on the wall for entertainment if you are dining alone. Sushi was fresh and reasonably priced. The menu seems to focus on sushi / poke bowls . Don’t expect other Japanese entrees like Katsu or udon. Quick and friendly service . Plenty of parking available. Recommend checking it out !

This was my location before the ownership change. It's nice to see the space change just by adding a few touches (adding booths, new tables, a divider for the restroom, adding the Asian waving lucky cat, etc.). It was a good nostalgic moment. I had a good conversation with the staff and owner in which they were all friendly and welcoming. The sushi chef has been in the industry for 10+ years. We ordered the King's combo with a few additional rolls. The sashimi was sliced nicely and thick. The food was amazing and fresh as to be expected. The attention to detail in presentation was appreciated as well. The owner also mentioned they will be introducing Ramen to the menu sometime next month or so just in time for the cold months ahead. If the sushi is any indication of their quality, I will be looking forward to trying their ramen and whatever is to come! Good luck to the new restaurant, owners and staff. We will be back.

Oh man....this place is a hole in the wall and just out right perfect. There is nothing better than local places like this that make some of the best food around.....especially Sushi. The menu...off the hook....the food....even better. Made to order, delicious, amazing, great and anyother word I can't think of at this moment because I left in a food coma. Don't believe me....then try.

Kinda nervous walking into a small informal sushi place.... Well, might not go here to impress a date, but they sure did impress my tummy! Lover's roll was amazing with plenty of fish and a delicate taste.... We had other rolls and they were all excellent. Blows the water out of the other places in Rochester Hills area... Shrimp tempura with veggies was also very good! Roll prices are a dollar or so more than other places but they are worth the slightly higher price for much higher quality and good size!

Like most sushi restaurants, this place was extremely clean! The service was prompt and everything was delicious. We started with a dobin mushi soup; it was my first time with it, the whole experience was great with this. The broth was very flavorful as were the shrimp and mushrooms in it. We also got the fry shumai and I highly recommend it. Normally I opt for the gyoza but it was nice to try something different. The sushi was really good, we got the salmon lover, genki, wonder roll and something else. The music over the radio played the same song for the hour and fifteen minutes we were there, that was disturbing but outside of that, this was a wonderful experience!

Food was okay I didn't like the taste of the sushi but the shrimp bites are so good!!

Cute little restaurant. Very clean and organized. Service and food were both excellent. Really like their sushi menu. A great variety of sushi rolls with unique combinations. We got the under the sea roll which has lobster meat with scallops on top. Very unique and tasted amazing. The sweet heart roll was also tasty, with beautiful presentation. Ramen is one of the best in the area (and I've been to many ramen places). Broth is not salty and very drinkable. Beef is super tender. I really like the bouncy texture of the ramen noodle. Overall 10/10 experience. Would definitely return.

I finally stopped in here on a blistery January day to try something different for lunch this time around. It seems like most of the Sushi restaurants around here are either outrageously expensive, have limited hours, or both. Sushi King's open and doesn't charge a lot for what they serve, comparatively speaking. The place is small, but it appears some upgrades have been done since they moved in here. Large, clean tables along with a few other upgrades that make it more inviting. I was greeted immediately and told to sit down and a waitress would be with me shortly. I got to review the menu and it appears they have quite a few menu options to choose from. While I'm not the most well versed in Sushi, I've had enough that I know what I like. I ended up getting their lunch special for $10.95 which came with two rolls and miso soup. While I wasn't thrilled about the Miso soup coming out first, it actually worked out quite well in the end. The Sushi rolls I got looked and tasted absolutely fabulous and had all the fixings with it. Wasabi sauce, soy sauce on the table, along with ginger and proper chopsticks. My bill was about $11 after tax, and I was happy with everything here. Finally, actual sushi without an attitude from people around me, not terribly expensive and very good as well. Overall, I'd gladly return in the future for a lot more.

A tiny little sushi spot. They had a lot of different specialty rolls and the quality of everything was great. It looks like they do mostly take out business with just a few tables. The staff were really nice and attentive. We tried 4 different specialty rolls and all were great. The Fancy roll was especially interesting with the cooked salmon and sweet coconut shrimp. Not sure if it's for everyone but we enjoyed it.

Great Sushi - amazing flavor and presentation. We got the Dynamite Roll (2) and the Genki Roll. We also got the salmon sashimi which was also very good. It was nice to sit inside and eat, it was great service and nice inside.

Wonderful food and service. We will def be back as it was all around a phenomenal experience!

Cute new place; we did a pick up order for carry out. The hand rolls I didn't like very much; the texture of the fish was strange. But the other orders we made were good - rolls - tuna and salmon; we also tried a roll w tempura shrimp in it. I would probably try it again in person to see what might be good. I can't comment on service because it was takeout.

Absolutely delish every single time. I drive 30 minutes 1 way to eat here or get takeout. Love love love this place.

The staff are very inviting and friendly here, and the sushi was so fresh! I would recommend this spot to anyone. I've ordered a few times from sushi king and I must say it beats anyone around for sushi. Treat yourself and go check it out!

Food was excellent!! Insanely fresh and delicious!! Super unassuming in the strip mall but so glad for the other great yelp reviews because we took a chance on it and worked out perfectly!! Reasonably priced for sushi as well. Service was quick and friendly. No drinks or anything here, just great food!

FINALLY!!! A solid sushi restaurant in the area! Very nice staff, chef/owner and fantastic, fresh sushi/sashimi, specialty rolls, and more! It starts with having the freshest ingredients, especially the fish! I've been fortunate enough to have lived and worked in downtown NY and Chicago, and traveled extensively. The other local sushi restaurants have not held up, Sushi King was excellent and I'm confident (and hopeful) they will continue to be consistently fresh and are now my go-to sushi spot! A welcome addition to the local sushi scene! Some lovely appetizers (Hawaiian salmon) and creative rolls.

Loved it! Freshest sushi restaurant that I have been to in a long time. Service was great and so was the food. Definitely going to be coming back. As another reviewer said, it's a hidden gem. You can enjoy before it's discovered, I don't think it will be long before it gets super busy and there's a wait to get in.

Really good, really fresh poke. If you like poke this is the place to go. We have been here a few times since we discovered them and each time it is spot on.

This place is a hidden gem for sure! I ordered around 12 rolls and every single one of them was amazing. My boyfriend has a shellfish allergy, so usually the options are slim for rolls without shrimp or crab, but this place had sooo many unique options. I really hope this place gets discovered by more people soon, they deserve it! I placed my order to go, but they were very friendly when I came to pick up my order. Prices were very comparable to other sushi spots in town. Overall amazing place. Give it a try!

Excellent quality sushi. My husband is from NY and says it's the best sushi in MI. Super clean restaurant and the best part is, no fishy odor like with most other sushi places. Prices are great. Can't wait to be back!

GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD! super clean! Defiantly a hidden sushi gem. We ordered hand rolls, spring rolls, edamame and sushi. The food was so fresh!
