Sushi Loop

We came here last night with friends for dinner. The place was very clean, and there was a big cherry blossom tree. Most importantly, all of their appetizers were absolutely delicious. The sashimi was also very fresh. It's definitely worth it. Lima is an excellent server--very warm and friendly, and she will provide you with everything you need.

Food is average 3 stars Service is 4 stars Diarrhea twice. During my visits to the bathroom, the next stall had the same problem. Bathroom is clean 5 stars. $2.5 for a teabag is over priced.

If you love crab and sashimi this the idea AYCE sushi restaurant for you as they offer it at the cost of a premium price for their premium seafood. My wife and I went for the lunch on a Wednesday and I was surprised with the amount of options that they had on the menu. Items ranging from the appetizers, sushi, and even ramen. We kept it simple and had the standard AYCE that doesn't include sashimi (only sliced sushi, no rice) or the crab legs. From ordering to waiting for the sushi took a bit of time so I'd recommend either ordering a fair amount in the beginning so you can get your fill or order as soon as your order arrives to optimize on the time. Paid street parking in front, patio along the side so possibly dog friendly during the warmer seasons (not confirmed),

Really wished I liked this sushi spot. Our waitress was extremely sweet and thoughtful, we absolutely loved her. Our waitress was kind enough to let us know our sushi would take approximately 30 minutes because the kitchen was busy and made sure we order some appetizers. The interior design is really cute, they did a great job. We were disappointed with the sushi out of all things. We ordered multiple signature rolls containing spicy tuna. The spicy tuna was lacking the spice component. The rolls were cut thickly which was difficult to eat and enjoy. If you order a roll that contains cream cheese, watch out; they put a lot which makes you feel heavy after eating.

I used to think all AYCE sushi places are the same. Sushi Loop provides that is not the case! Highly recommend upgrading to the sashimi as they provide generous portions of fish. Personally, I love rolls and they have an impressive array of options. The only thing I would skip is the Ramen. That was the only underwhelming thing, but we came for sushi, not Ramen. Service was super attentive and able to explain the concept of menu well. Seating inside has family friendly options for large groups and folks with little ones.

My bf and I had a reservation for 2 Sun 12/28 at 7PM. Gorgeous open airy space. Nice server. Had the mangotini and my bf had the Moscow mule. We had the premium ayce with crab legs. CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK.

Service was good, price is fair. Has lots of options on their menu which is why I did rated it high but the rice on the sushi is too cold which makes me think it's not as fresh. I think it's because we came right when they open so I'm hoping it isn't always the case. Overall I don't mind coming here again but it won't be my go to. Street parking and it's quite big inside

They've done such a great job at converting roots into sushi loop. The interior is absolutely stunning, i love their bar area. Great place for a date or a large gathering and the sushi quality were so good! The only thing I didn't like is that it smells like bathroom towards the back of the restaurant. Not sure if this is the plumbing, bathroom, or kitchen but it was very strong smell.

Came in on a Monday around noon expecting lunch prices but the server mentioned that it was going to be dinner pricing the whole day. I'm not sure if this was because it was considered a bank holiday. There are normally 3 different dinner pricing tiers. The normal dinner pricing includes appetizers, ramen, nigiri, hand-rolls. The premium tier includes sashimi and the 2nd premium included snow crab. The restaurant is spacious and currently decorated with fun and spooky Halloween decorations. There were two large nest seating areas for larger groups. We ordered some edamame, chicken yakitori and tempura veggies to start me. I shared a spicy miso ramen with my friend. The broth was flavorful and a little spicy. We also ordered the fire dragon roll, sunny roll and golden dragon roll along with some egg, scallop and new york strip nigiri. Unfortunately there was extended wait times between courses and we felt like we had to wait to flag down the server. We were also surprised to find that hot green tea was not included in the ayce price and it was just hot water plus a Bigelow green tea bag that we would have to steep. The desserts were fine. We tried macarons, strawberry and matcha ice cream mochi, tempura oreo and creme brulee. Unfortunately they did not have any hamachi kama.

Tried this place for lunch on opening weekend. We had the all you can eat special. It's a great deal and it covers not just the sushi but also appetizers, ramen, salads, and dessert. The interior is well done and colorful. The staff are friendly and service was good. We tried several of the sushi rolls and they were all delicious. Mango Tango is a must. We also tried a few appetizers and they were great. Will be back for certain

Food was yummm! Loved their sushi rolls and edamame! Service was kind and informative. Ambiance is fun and pretty. Casual place to have dinner with friends and or family.

Sushi Loop definitely surprised me in the best way! Their all-you-can-eat spread is not only generous, but everything actually tastes fresh, flavorful, and worth the trip. I started with an assortment of nigiri, and honestly--so good. The salmon was buttery, the scallop was sweet, and even the mackerel had that perfect briny bite. The eel was tender and caramelized just right, and the ny strip nigiri with sauce on top was a fun, savory twist. Their rolls were the real showstoppers. Each one was loaded with toppings--creamy sauces, crunchy bits, and pops of tobiko. The sunny roll was a favorite: rich, saucy, and perfectly balanced without being heavy. And the appetizers? A whole spread. Takoyaki, shumai, purple sweet potato, shrimp lollipop--everything came out hot and crispy. The takoyaki in particular was delicious with the bonito flakes dancing on top. What I loved most is that nothing felt like "AYCE filler." The portions were solid, the presentation was clean, and the flavors were genuinely satisfying. If you're craving an AYCE sushi spot that actually delivers quality, Sushi Loop hits the mark. Would definitely come back and order all of this again.

Really enjoyed my first Sushi Loop experience. Went with my parents, wife and our newborn and appreciated that they gave us the spot in the back to fit our stroller! We went with the AYCE sashimi add on ($45 per person I think ) . The sashimi was actually really good quality and they gave quite generous portions. The rolls I think were pretty solid as well and stack up to what you would see in other restaurants. Tempura was done really well both shrimp and vegetable. The tonkotsu ramen was forgettable as was the tempura Oreo. Service is really attentive and great and do a solid job of plating. Good addition to the neighborhood #AYCE #sushi

Saw on Yelp it would be open for another 23 minutes. Arrived with 20 minutes before closing. Was told at the front by the lady who greeted us that the kitchen closed at 10. She then told us that there was a sushi place downtown open until 2am. I told her that why would I want to do that, I live 5 minutes away... She then said we could order sushi to go..... But I thought the kitchen closed at 10, so how can I order sushi to go It's a shame because the place is pleasant inside and looks clean. There were four employees in the kitchen. All we wanted to do was eat some sushi real quick and go home. Never turn away business. Never.

The craving for sushi brought us to try this new neighbor spot. It was previously Roots Pizza, and we could see hints of the past, like the bar, but with a definite Asian themed reincarnation. We were greeted warmly and were taken to the fun birds nest like round table. Glad I came hungry, as I wasn't aware of the all you can eat for a set price. We took advantage of this getting a good sampling of appetizers- gyoza, crab Rangoons, tempura, edamame, and others. When it came time for the sushi, there were many options to satisfy everyone. It was fun that it was served in a boat making it easy to share. The staff made sure that we had all the things we needed and checked on us regularly without being overbearing at all. I'll definitely come back.

Service was bad. I waited 30 minutes for my sushi and never got a refill on my water. I am making the assumption they didn't staff appropriately for MLK day. Because the two waitresses were running around like crazy. But the experience was so poor I am hesitant to come back.

Absolutely not lol. This place is a reminder that tiktokers and influencers will get on these videos and lie. It's also a reminder that aesthetics don't equal quality. The only highlight of the meal was the appetizer. I did "all you can eat" and only got 1 to not fill up.... I wish I would have just filled up on apps lol. Sushi came out and the first bite made me nauseous but there was a lovely sign reminding you that there is a 1$ charge per PIECE of what you don't finish. the smoked salmon in the Philly roll was oddly wet like left wet spots on the wood board they serve your food on and tasted off. And the board was kind of dingy so it felt weird having to eat off of it. Then when I cut into a piece of the roll that was supposed to have spicy tuna I discover that it is SHREDDED CAN TUNA inside which is insane to me for a sushi spot. I also didn't feel comfortable speaking up on any of this as a female poc dining alone, they weren't as warm or attentive to me as they were the other types of folks in the establishment and I didn't want any drama. The most I got was inspecting looks and cold stares as they patrolled to make sure I was eating lowkey. I felt like I was being watched yet not actually served. Hours later I'm still grossed out. Just don't go.

Gorgeous space, super fast service. The sushi was of great quality and the presentation was amazing. Our server, Chris, made sure our waters were filled and that our AYCE orders came out quickly. Overall an amazing restaurant!

This was a nice sushi place, and for the price it's not to bad. Service is kinda slow and it was hard to get some help. But the issue I had was the rice quality, there were some sushi pieces that the rice tasted old.

This little gem opened in my backyard, and so far I've indulged in 3 AYCE experiences, first by myself, and the next visits I treated close friends to an amazing meal. The space is bright and beautiful, and there is no fishy odor that plagues even some high end restaurants (union comes to mind). I've tried dishes from every part of the menu, and make sure to try something new each visit, and I can honestly say that every dish has been the best example of that dish that I have ever had. Even the miso is elevated with care and attention to flavor and presentation. Can't recommend this place enough.

Best all you can eat sushi buffet in Chicago. Yes better than sushi taku. New clean restaurant and they have paper towels in the washroom which makes them more sanitary than the other restaurants. Ramen is also included in the AYCE menu. Love their cheap $10 drinks too!

I absolutely loved this place, from the cute decorations to the food presentation it nailed all the right yummy sushi restaurant details. The sushi rolls were vibrant and delicious and our server was super friendly and fast. This was my first sushi experience in Chicago and l'd definitely recommend for anyone who wants a cool vibe and tasty sushi at a good price.

Went here intending to have lunch, but was told that they were only serving "dinner" buffet bc it was a "holiday" columbus day. But despite that, I enjoyed the food. They did not skimp on the fish in the sushi rolls or nigiri. Fish seemed fresh and the rolls were great. Will definatley come back again. Will try to come back for the cheaper lunch buffet instead next time.

Nice experience but it was kind of bright in the place. Also maybe the could put name tags on the items cause I couldn't tell them apart.

Food was substandard. Sushi Payce and Nova are far superior. Soft shell crab was dry and not fresh. The squid was also dry. Steamed dumplings were cold and the skin was hard. Portions were big. The restaurant smelled of bad chemical. The booth we sat in wobbled. The premium sushi which basically meant sashimi was an incremental where other AYCE don't have it. Not worth the trip.

We had the regular AYCE lunch option and it was great. The rolls and nigiri have very good quality ingredients and flavor. We finished the meal with green tea ice cream, which was also very tasty. The restaurant is very nice and the service is good. I would definitely go back.

Everything about this restaurant is spot on! Food is freshh & delicious & the crab legs are excellent!! The staff is attentive & the whole ambiance is 100% top notch! If you want a great dining experience come to Sushi Loop! You will not regret it!

We came during their "soft opening" so maybe things have improved, but the service, to describe it generously, was erratic (e.g. missing ginger-- and we waited ....waited for a drink ...waited for a napkin....you get the idea.) There was insufficient wasabi, and we couldn't seem to explain that we needed a little dish for it, even though the table across the aisle had them. A plus is that they seem to have a couple of kinds of fish that other all you care to eat sushi places don't offer. But the fish itself was warm-ish, and the salmon was not good quality --tough to chew. I might try again, because they are neighbors, and because they are clearly making an effort .

Very good AYCE sushi! It was reasonably priced and includes the apps and dessert. There was a really nice variety of rolls in their menu too. The restaurant itself is very cute, bright, and clean and the servers were attentive. Sushi Loop is definitely a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

Went on a Monday during lunch hours but had to pay dinner price due to indigenous peoples day. But overall, their special rolls didn't have much flavor compared to places like sushi Taku. You have to upgrade your AYCE bundle if you want to get sashimi so that was disappointing. However, service was quick and the place had cute decorations around.

Food is delicious, and service is prompt. Restaurant is cozy and definitely adds to the experience. Miso soup is a must at the price point for a comforting appetizer, speaking of which the gyoza are hearty and tasty. Signature rolls are packed with flavor and go great with some sake.

The food was quite good there and place is decorated very nicely. But unlike some other reviews here, I think it is pretty pricey. Sushi Tokoro on Western is every bit as good and cheaper. Also the stress of the threat of being charged more if you over order is too much. Tokoro does not do that.

Awesome add to the neighborhood! The staff is super friendly and the sushi rolls are great - tons of options! Really clean as well. Will be back!
