"The latest culinary hotspot at FAVORITE Parkhotel is a restaurant within a restaurant! Sushi lounge is located inside the hotel's Weinbar. Only sushi and sashimi are on the menu in this compact space, and everything is made with the finest produce – something for which FAVORITE Restaurant also has a reputation. Must-try nigiri: otoro for melt-in-your-mouth richness, scallops for pristine freshness or unagi for bold umami." - Michelin Inspector

Got beef with broccoli and a few dim sum items to go. Super tasty, not overly oily at all, and surprisingly authentic. I’ll absolutely be back. They serve sushi too, but I guess the dim sum and Chinese dishes are what really stand out here.

Was in town for the day and read other reviews so we decided to try this place out. Food was fairly decent, but was lacking flavor. Service greatly fell short. Could have been a great experience but we were not impressed.

Google
Some were great, some I really disliked. The Vegas Roll, I unfortunately could not get down. It had a very odd taste.

Google
Our first Dim-sum experience in Tucson and it did not disappoint. From the outside the restaurant is very unassuming. And the interior decor is nothing fancy. But the hustle in the kitchen tells you all you need to know, that great food is on its way. Unlike some other dim-sum places we've been to in other towns, they don't do cart service here. When you arrive you are given a menu (with pictures) and a sheet of paper on which to mark your orders and quality. When completed the waiter comes around d and picks up the sheet and fifteen to twenty minutes later your dishes start to come out. The order can be somewhat random so don't fret if you think something may have been missed, it's on its way! We had six different dishes during this visit and each was very good. The service it efficient and polite. We will be back!

Google
Take out order, two separate times. Soft shell crab? was 1 crab. Surprised for how much it was and it was overcooked, so as the calarami. The sushi were okay and i like how they separated the take out order so it dont mix together. For the next day, I was excited for the dimsum but i only like the spare ribs and beef tripe. The rest was a little diassapointing. I had high hopes since it was rated good and they had a bigger selection for dimsum.

Google
Absolutely amazing food. Went on a Friday night and service was friendly and prompt. We tried dim sum, sushi, and beef tappanyaki. Sushi was extremely fresh, which you could tell from the taste. This is a hidden gem in Tucson that you must try if you love this kind of cuisine. Can’t wait to go back and try more items. Atmosphere is a little warm and dated and not a great area, but the food more than makes up for it and kind service. Hard to find both things nowadays.

Google
I was sincerely impressed with the sushi and the dim sum items! It's definitely a hole in the wall spot, but I think that is what made it promising as we walked in. I highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Dim Sum and sushi. This is my new favorite spot for sushi in Tucson. Thank you to the owners and chef! :)

Google
The best sushi place in Tucson in my opinion. Friendly staff, excellent service, delicious food and very good price. This has to be my only sushi go to place in Tucson! It’s my favorite and the food is always so delicious and service has never disappointed.

Yelp
This place serves both sushi and dim sum! What an impeccable duo for a restaurant to have. Only found that out by reading another yelpers' review. We dined here for the first one, which happened to be on Valentine's Day, figuring that most other places would be packed. It did take a while for us to be seated and a couple that was ahead of us did end it leaving, but I didn't want that to deter me since dim sum was on my brain. Their options on sushi was fairly expansive same goes for their dim sum menu. We ordered a scallop roll, sashimi platter, and a lot of different dim sums. I didn't take pics, but everything was delicious. Now the service isn't fast when we went, but I can tell they are hard working; think I saw 2-3 cooks and 2 waiters, so it was pretty understaffed for this holiday occasion. You do hear them communicate pretty loudly with each other in the restaurant, but I considered that as part of their charm. I had a feeling maybe the two cooks were competing with each other in getting orders done. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and the quality of food. They've been added to my favorites list.

Yelp
We used to live this place, but stopped going when we saw some low scores from the health department. Well the scores are better so we decided to give it one more try. Sad to say that from the moment you walk in you are in a dingy dark dining room. So quiet and awkward. The service is ok. The food was blah we kept our order to 3 rolls just to make sure we liked it. Spicy Rainbow roll no spice no flavor, spicy yellow tail was ok and the blue crab roll was the best roll. We also ordered a hot sake pretty tasty and the miso soup was good.

Yelp
We met here on Sunday for dim sum for 10 people, and had great experience! Located right across from the rodeo grounds - we enjoyed all kinds of Chinese delicacies from broccoli in oyster sauce, to turnip cakes, buns of all kinds, shrimp, sesame balls - you name it! We enjoyed tea and dim sum for hours, we were all so full by the end, and they were able to split the check 10 ways for us - it ended up being just $33.00 per person including a tip for all of the wonderful food that we had! I haven't had dim sum in years, and this was an enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning!

Yelp
Wife and I go to Sushi Lounge around twice a month. They serve excellent Dim Sum. Some of our favorites are; BBQ Pork: Very nice dish. Wonderful pork flavor. Pork Spare Ribs: Not your "normal" ribs. Small bits of pork ribs cooked in a manner I'm not familiar with. Wonderful flavor. A favorite of mine. Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce: Very tasty dish. Tastes much better than it sounds! Soy Sauce Noodle: Hair thin noodles. Order this dish every time we go. Pineapple Pastry Bun: Delicious desert bun. Wife loves them as do I. Three are served so we split #3! Very good service. Comfortable inside with either booths or table/chairs. Parking is easy and the restaurant is right on 6th Street.

Yelp
Nothing fancy, but the food is solid. The best part for me is there is made to order dim sum on the weekends, The service can be slow, but friendly and locally owned.

Yelp
This is my 12 yo grandsons favorite place for his steamed buns! They staff are very attentive and they definitely know how to serve their guests.

Yelp
It's been a while since we ate here. The food is as good as before, the service also good. Easy parking and got seat right away. Food comes out in a very reasonable time.

Yelp
Parking is ample, service was ok, tables were sticky, usual Chinese restaurant feel. Mind you it's a Sushi place. We only came to try to dim sum because it seems it's the only one in Tucson worthy of taking a chance. You will be happy to know, it's ok - yes, ok! Just ok. Sorry! The noodles were decent, my husband liked it, it was not exactly what I was looking for but well... The siomai was good, better than others I've had in Tucson, also the soup dumplings were good. I wasn't too crazy about the quail egg one. My husband liked the pork and the tripe, it was close enough to the ones we had in LA & SF. Will we be back? Hummmm - maybe to try the other dim sum items we didn't try. Oh! I forgot to tell you, the dim sum is made to order, no rolling carts.

Yelp
Tried again on weekend; expanded dimsum service - the shrimp fun gao (shrimp w cilantro) was awesome - service is great as usual. The usual stuff - soup buns, shumai were very good also; Tucson needs to try out this dimsum place more - this is the best one we have tried in the city for sure.

Yelp
Best dim sum in town! Made fresh & authentic any day of the week. Only tried one sushi roll. It was good as well.

Yelp
I was recently here for a dim sum lunch and made note of their rather extensive chinese menu. So I came back a few days later to see how that was as I was in the area. The ambience of the place had not changed altlhough this time I set in one of the booths. I ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer and the mixed combo chop suey for the entree. The shrimp tempura was increadible. Coated in the lightest batter with the perfect shimp inside this was an incredible dish served with a small dipping sauce. The chop suey on the other hand was not so good. I know I ordered it correctly as I put the number '1' on the line and circled where it said chop suey. What I got back was a very small servinng (maybe enough for an old lady or small child) of a mixed combo in a dark garlicky soy sauce. That's not chop suey. Or was it? I don't know. All over the rest of the country and even in Tucson, chop suey usually comes in a specific and tasty mild light brown sauce. It has a unique flavor. This was not it. The meats were done but the veges in it were drowning in the dark and garlic infused liquid. I think chop suey should have a noticeable amount of bean sprouts in it. There were veges but not so much bean sprouts. I should have sent it back at once but I ate it. My bad. Personally, I think they just totally messed up and made me the wrong stuff and, at $15.95, they owe me another lunch, made correctly this time. Based on this how can I recommend you come here for chinese food? I can't.

Yelp
It was meh. Certainly not worth the drive. The place is run down, but that doesn't mean the food isn't going to be good. They do Dim Sum to order, but that's not unique anymore in Tucson and done better elsewhere. My group and just one other person was there so the server was Johnny on the spot, so that was good. The signs warning away thieves didn't help the ambiance, so I don't think this is a late night place to be. We started with a tempura mix, this was okay if a bit spartan and oily. We ordered dim sum. One guest questioned the quality of the meat in one of the dishes. We then ordered three rolls, one with beef in it...and I guess there is a reason that it's not that popular. The fried rolls were overcooked and greasy. The spicy rolls added cucumber which was a surprise. But overall it was just okay.

Yelp
Amazing! We went with our little kiddos and they loved it too! Tries almost all of their dim sum items today. Food is hit and fresh, made to order. Service also great. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Really good sushi joint. You can tell the people working here really care about their customers.

Robert C.

Yelp
The service was great and sushi was incredible, and the price of the sushi was very reasonable!

Yelp
Thank you for the tasty Dim Sum. Mom really enjoys the braised & steamed chicken feet & the steamed shrimp stuffed tofu! They are definitely handmade. If you like menudo, you should try the steam beef trips, thinly sliced with a lot of fresh ginger & scallions! I would tell the dim sum is definitely handmade. Who would have thought I could find good dim sum in Tucson!
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Now THIS was altogether unexpected. Recommended by a friend when I mentioned missing dim sum, I was suspicious that a place with the words "sushi" and "lounge" would have dim sum in the first place. Don't judge this book by its cover. They have a broad range of dim sum from dumplings to tripe in ginger scallion and everything was delicious!

Brian H.

Yelp
I've really missed good DimSum since coming to Tucson, so I really wanted to like this place. But sadly, I left disappointed. The food was uniformly mediocre. It lacked the flavor of really good dim sum. If you've never had good DimSum then perhaps you wouldn't notice it, but it doesn't compare to restaurants in other cities. On the plus side, our server was very attentive and prompt, and I really like the inside decor. But it's too far away from my home to come for what ended up being disappointing food.

Yelp
They have reopened after being closed for 1.5 years. They are open every day but Mondays The dim sum is made when ordered so expect to wait about 20 minutes after ordering or you can call in advance so it will be ready when you get there. Some dim sum dishes are only served on Saturday and Sunday. Nice family run restaurant.

Yelp
I liked everything about this place it's the first time I ve been here !! I came with my Chinese friends and family, and this is the first time I ever had sake !! Just real authentic food. The service is great. Everything was just great thank you sushi lounge.

Yelp
Came for a late lunch, so it wasn't crowded. My first dim sum experience in Tucson, and it was fantastic. We also had some tasty udon and a large bento. Everything was great! We'll definitely be returning :)
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
The food was decent but we think the rice consistency led us to believe that the rolls made ahead of time or it's a day old. Service was excellent and friendly servers and owner. The location was kinda dark and ambiance needed more lighting but clean and enough space between tables for privacy while eating.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Tucson. If this place was closer to my house, I would get it every day. I have constantly been disappointed by other dim sum places in Tucson, but this one is always a hit. My favorite things to order are the Shrimp Har Gow and Rice Rolls. It takes around 20 minutes for the food to come out because it is fresh, but it is worth it for the quality.

Yelp
I was a bit tentative to return to Sushi Lounge after last year's health inspection. However, I am rooting for Sushi Lounge and gave them another shot. Two reasons convinced me to come back. First, Sushi Lounge is now the last prominent dim sum restaurant left in town. I needed some dim sum to uplift my spirits during this pandemic. Second, I was notified of Sushi Lounge's excellent curbside pick-up service. I can confirm that the pick-up was efficient, safe, and easy after calling in your order. The only drawback is that Sushi Lounge lacks an online payment system, but they will bring a credit card machine out to your vehicle. Sushi Lounge offers a good variety of dim sum items, but the food is at a premium price point compared to the portions and quality. For example, the turnip cake was smaller than usual and was a bit too charred. Most items that I received tasted decent but had unimpressive portions. However, I would recommend the Siu Mai. The Siu Mai was delicious and well-made! Sushi Lounge will ultimately satisfy your dim sum cravings. Although Sushi Lounge has room for improvement, I will keep supporting Sushi Lounge to preserve dim sum in Tucson.

Yelp
Legit dim sum... No joke. The restaurant has many classic dim sum goodies as well as some fusion ones. They're steamed to order and can take up to 30 minutes but they come out pipping hot. Definitely call in your orders ahead. Dine in service is closed and they have limited hours because of COVID, but they take the food to your car. The friendly server came out wearing a mask with his credit card machine. After that he took the food out, all while I was comfortable in my car.

Allison P.

Yelp
Fish is really low quality and rolls are really small with not a lot of fish in them.

Yelp
The food was very good! As someone that has worked at a japanese restaurant, it was very good! The service was fast and the server answered any questions I had, and the atmosphere was comfy.

Yelp
Dim sum!!!!! Delicious! Came her for a casual Sunday brunch with colleagues. We did a family still meal and order 1 of everything on the menu and it ALL was good!! The service was great. Very hospitable. The vibe was casual and laid back. I love it! Probably the place for dim sum in Tucson.

Yelp
Lunch menu 11-3pm Monday thru Friday. I got the 4pcs sashimi and spicy tuna roll for only about $12. Nice servers and good food.

Yelp
Good sushi. Reasonable prices. Great service every time. Both my kids enjoy eating here.

Yelp
This place is a great find. Impressive service ( very attentive) food is very well excused. Prices are reasonable. We'll be returning.

Yelp
I didnt come here for the soup dumplings, but let me tell you what. They have the BEST soup dumplings I've ever had!!! Make sure to ask for the red vinegar sauce to go with them. The rest of the food was good too! We got spring rolls, crab puffs, two sushi rolls, fried rice, custard buns and cocktail buns. All was good, sushi was decent. I'll definitely be back for the soup dumplings and custard buns!

Yelp
IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE!!! Legit, the freshest dimsum i have ever had!!! Luckily i wasnt starving too bad because it was a bit of a wait for everything i ordered. But once i got it, i learned quickly why and that it was worth the wait!! Luckily too i had the lotus tea stick rice that was readily avaolable more so i enjpyed that while i waited for the rest. It was good but could have used more flavor to the rice and meat filling. The shrimp rice noodles not only tasted amazing with generously sized shrimp, but the rice noodles were so fresh, they kept slipping off my chopsticks. It was prolly the only time i dont mind them that slimy lol. And the har cao shrimp was superb as expect! A bit on the smaller side for each dumplimg but the freshness and overall flavor was still on point! I also tried the quail egg shio mai since it sounded intriguing and finally tried the xiaolongbao soup dumplings. The soup ones were delish! Definitely would not mind trying again! The quail egg ones, not so much lol. But i was quite full already from everything! All that topped with my favorite chrysanthium tea and inwas in dimsum heaven! Definitely my go to spot for Tucson from here on out!

Yelp
I flew into Tucson on a Sunday and was craving dim sum since I am accustomed to eating dim sum on Sundays back home. Hopped on Yelp and Sushi Lounge was the first to show up while also being relatively close my hotel. It took a while for the food to come out but understanding that the food is coming out fresh is a sacrifice I was willing to take. This place definitely did not disappoint! I can't say if the others in the area are better or worse but what I can say is that this dim sum place is legit.
google avatar

Krista D.

Yelp
Despite the name being "sushi lounge", the dim sum menu here is amazing!! Reasonable prices and great taste- sushi here is also great. Server was super nice to and our food came out quickly. Eat here if you're nearby :)
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
At first I was hesitant of sushi in Tucson, but the guys at Sushi Lounge quelled them quickly! They have a wide assortment of dim sum dishes like the Chinese sweet sausage, sushi (of course), and even rice dishes (called donburi). I had the unagi (freshwater eel) donburi and it was a nice sized filet, seasoned with a savory eel sauce, and topped with furikake. It was not to eat it so fast! Their shrimp tempura roll was a nice addition with a good crunch!

Yelp
Who would have thought that a sushi restaurant would serve Chinese dim sum? Even more amazing is that the dim sum is really good! I have no idea if the sushi is any good, but this place has the best dim sum I've had in Tucson yet. It kicks gee's garden in the face. They serve dim sum on the weekends till they run out. We went for lunch on Sunday and when we got there at 12p the place was packed. The menu is a little smaller, but what they did have was very good. Dishes are grouped as either small, medium or large. With the price going up with size. They make things to order so be ready to wait about 20 mins for food to start arriving. 8 of us ate very well for about $100. Make sure to drink lots of hot tea to wash down the grease and free up space for a nap afterwards. I'll definitely be back, maybe every weekend!

Richard R.

Yelp
This was the second Sunday in a row wife and I went for Dim Sum here. Excellent food. I particularly enjoyed the BBQ Pork, Pork Spareribs (small bits of cooked meat with very small bones attached. Delicious.), a noodle dish the name I cannot remember, and some wonderful pineapple buns for desert. One quirk in this restaurant is they use paper plates and Styrofoam cups. Today we brought our plates and tea cups from home!! See photo below. Anyway, we have gone in early (around 10:15) on Sunday morning. One table was occupied this Sunday when we arrived. Service was very quick. If you want Dim Sum in Tucson this is the place to go!

Yelp
Awesome freaking dim sum! Never had their sushi or entrees here. Only came here for breakfast but AWSOME FREAKING DIM SUM! I love Asian food and i was quite surprised to find dim sum, especially on the south side of Tucson but man oh man... they make it to order. The service is fair. The cooks and staff are all Asian, so that is major key for authentic quality. Price point is fair. We had XLB (soup dumplings), eggs custards, ect but my favorite was the crispy pork belly OMGGG! The pork belly won us over! The meat and fat were nice and juicy and the skin was cooked to a crisp! Not burnt but like a chicharron! Great wonton soup as well! Not just dumplings and broth. Great remedy for a night out. They throw some protein and vegetables in there as well, like beef and shrimp. Thank you for being in Tucson Sushi Lounge. You're a diamond in the rough!

Yelp
I loved coming here for dim sum! They are only offering takeout right now. Call ahead and place your order, when you arrive call and they bring it out to you. We got all my faves shumai, shrimp har gow, egg tarts, sesame balls, steamed bbq pork bun, and bbq pork rice roll. The egg tarts had the flakiest of crusts, it was so delicious. The steamed bbq pork bun was cooked just perfectly. All of that was only 27 on a Saturday. #ThankYouThursday

Yelp
Posted main thoughts in Check-in. Definitely recommend coming here to try a variety of traditional dim sum while trying sushi. We ended up ordering all dim sum cause they are all very good.

Yelp
Really good food but super pricey for sizes. Dim sum quite good but also way too expensive pee item. In Chinatown La it's anywhere from 1.50 n up but sushi lounge $4 n $6 etc so weird.... Was with a huge group so took 1.5 hours to get all our food
google avatar

Yelp
Customer service was good, but we were not fans of the food. The ambiance was casual. When we arrived there was not many people, we sat where we please which was nice. There was multiple menus to choose from. Unfortunately, the sushi which is what we specially came for was not it. For the hand rolls specifically the California roll it was the whole piece of crab not the mushed thing. Maybe that's just what I was expecting, but the other sushi we got had not much flavor. The sushi was bland. We got a few rolls to try different ones. The complementary miso soup was good. Gyoza was a bit oily. Something we really enjoyed was the Mongolian beef.

Yelp
I want to make it abundantly clear that I am not a picky eater whatsoever, and I find something to enjoy in basically every restaurant I'm at. And I enjoy giving positive reviews to as much as I possibly can to local businesses - sadly, the only good part of my experience here was our waiter. I came in with a big group and he was very attentive and got our orders correct even though we ordered a lot of food. I just wish we didn't order so much because sadly a lot of it went to waste because of how bad it was. I was very excited to try a dim sum place and I was also in the mood to have Japanese food so this seemed like the perfect choice! Sadly, I have basically nothing positive to say about any of the food. I ordered a bento box so I could get a lot of variety. The salmon teriyaki was super small and very much over cooked, the fried rice under it was flavorless. The tempura was extremely greasy, the sweet and sour chicken was dry, the yakisoba was bland, and the miso soup tasted like hot water with no flavor. I also got 2 dim sum items, the bbq pork buns and sausage buns; they were ok but there was way more breading than meat which made it difficult to finish from how much bread there was. I'm just grateful that I decided against getting sushi, because my friends ordered it and started feeling sick shortly after, and it's obvious why because all the nigiri/sushi looked old and dry; I added a picture of my friend's salmon nigiri you can see the side starting to turn gray (I made sure she didn't eat them it was food poisoning waiting to happen). I was also put off by how extensive the menu was; there were 5 different menu pages all listing different things and and it very confusing and overwhelming. The food was also very expensive considering how poor the quality was. I am just very disappointed by this experience. My recommendation to the owners/managers of this restaurant would be to downsize the menu considerably, and maybe stick to dim sum and improve the quality of the dim sum items since there isn't a lot of competition there. Please do not come here; you will more than likely get sick, and you will definitely overpay for extremely low quality food. I wish I never came and wasted my money here!

Yelp
Service and food was exceptional. If it's Dim Sum you are after, it's best to do it on the weekends to experience some of the weekend only items

Yelp
I've been looking for a good Dim Sum restaurant for MONTHS and I found an EXCELLENT RESTAURANT WITH DIM SUM today at the Sushi Lounge in Tucson. This restaurant is located across the street from the Tucson Rodeo Grounds. Their DIM SUM is offered only on Saturdays and Sundays. For Me, it was a long drive BUT WORTH IT! I can tell you without hesitation this visit is not my last. I will definitely make this a frequent GO TO. The dim sum is made fresh, the restaurant is family owned, and eating there is like being served by a personal friend who knows what they're doing! I walked away VERY HAPPY! Trust me when I say I know a great restaurants - I've visited and have eaten in restaurants in every US State (from California to New York) and 10 countries. Sushi Lounge is one of the BEST AROUND! Don't go there in October because (this year 2023) they'll be closed the entire month. If you can't get there before the end of September (2023) definitely try them in November 2023. DELICIOUS FOOD! Sorry for NOT including pictures BUT I was so busy enjoying the food, the thought slipped my mind... you'll see what I mean when you eat there!

Samy W.

Yelp
The red bean buns are sooo delicious! Highly recommend those. If you're looking for dumplings though, I'd suggest china pasta house... you get 10 of them for less.

Yelp
Best new dim sum in Tucson! This restaurant has existed awhile as a sushi spot, but recently started serving dim sum on the weekends. This was such a good call on the owner's part because it is easily the best dim sum in Southern Arizona. Since they just started out, they don't do it a la carte yet. However, that means all the dim sum items are made to order and super hot and fresh. The reason I enjoy it more than other dim sum places is because of the quality of the dumpling and bao (steamed buns). The dumplings aren't too chewy and literally melt in your mouth. The bao is perfectly soft and fluffy, and has a hint of sweetness. Dumplings and buns aside, there seriously was not a single dish I did not love. If you go you have to order the salted egg custard bun and quail egg shumai. I also recommend ordering a lot at once, because the wait can be a bit in between orders and let's face it -- you'll want to eat everything you order because it's just that good.
