I want to like everything about Sushi Maki: sushi, close to where I live, and ability to sign up for rewards. I keep giving them a chance, but nothing ever goes right. Every time I go, they make the order wrong: leave out ingredients, make it according to an old recipe that is no longer on the menu, make it according to a new recipe that is not listed online when you order, run low on an ingredient and try to slyly make it with half the normal and half a substitute without telling me. That's right; they knowingly subbed a very different ingredient and did not tell me because, "they were running low."
One time they made my meal without several ingredients and after sending back already for making wrong, I was starving and didn't notice the missing ingredients until late in the meal. When I asked the waiter about it he kind of blamed me for not noticing sooner because "now there is nothing [he] can do about it."
They also tend to wrap things up and staple the bag shut on to go items, making it even harder to check the order to see which thing they inevitably left out or subbed.
Oh, and that rewards program? We tried to sign up one time and the waiter took our information amd then never signed us up.
Each time I think maybe the issue is a fluke or because someone was new, but there are only so many times I can assume that. I think I've given sushi maki enough chances and won't be returning.
