Sushi Murase - Review - Roppongi - Tokyo - The Infatuation

"Sushi Murase in Roppongi is a very serious temple of fish. It’s a bit pricier (around $200 per person for the omakase), but this really feels like fish performance art in the best way—the chef methodically slices fish and twirls chopsticks before using them to top the nigiri. It’s 28 courses with some really unique bites: squid stuffed with squid eggs that’s been poached in soy sauce, raw shrimp that’s topped with uni, shrimp head bits, blue shrimp eggs, and wasabi, and the best tuna you’ll ever have. It’s a lot of food and a lot of flair, but worth every penny." - Carlo Mantuano

The quality of the main chef is questionable... the service that didn't match the price, the thoughtlessness and consideration of the customer's taste, the food just came out like a machine. No questions asked if the customer was enjoying it, it was just a soulless meal. The chef's manner was very arrogant, and the owner's fierce look and face, who was only bent on scolding his staff rather than apologizing for the customer sitting right in front of him, ruined my memory of traveling to Japan. It's just an Instagram restaurant that's expensive and unprofessional. I don't understand why a group of 12 would cost 800,000 yen for a meal. A restaurant I don't want to visit again.

Personally, this has been the best sushi omakase. Can't find this level of high quality in the states. We were full by the end. Excellent service, drinks were immediately refilled when glass got empty. Might be difficult to talk to the head chef if you don't speak Japanese, but other chefs were able to speak some English to describe the food. Highly recommend making reservations beforehand.

Fantastic. Great sake pairings. Make sure you understand that you will be getting 30+ courses!

One of my favorite Sushi restaurant in Roppongi. What's great about it is that it's near my house! 13 pieces of sushi for 8000 yen, it's a great deal for the quality. Depending on the sashimi, the chef changes the type of rice, from regular sushi rice to red vinegar sushi rice. The ginger was homemade and was so delicious. The uni was the best uni I've ever had in my life. They prepare it using an oven. It's located on the first floor and pretty spacious. I'd say about 20 people can fit at once. Some say it's intimidating to come here for their first time, but I didn't get that feeling at all. I was even able to ask questions about the sushi and they answered to politely. It was pretty easy to make reservations as well. If you're looking for a good sushi place in Tokyo, I highly recommend here.

By far the best Sushi I ever had. Not only the food also the ambience is a truly fantastic Japanese sushi experience from my (European) perspective. Thank you!

Should be a 5-star but we waited almost 50 minutes from our reservation time (8pm). They put us in a private room and brought out lots of food and drinks to us. All the chefs seemed very busy and one head chef that prepares the sushi in the center of a 13-seater restaurant. We had 4 different sakes during our 4-hour meal. The sushi was very fresh. Fun experience with the other guests in the restaurant!

The freshness of Sushi and other dishes cannot describe by words, it is definitely one of the best restaurants we have visited in Tokyo.

My favorite omakase in Tokyo. The fish is impeccable, chef and his team both meticulous and beautiful to watch, and the staff on the ball, and omnipresent. Well worth a visit if you’re in Tokyo!
