I have been a regular guest at Sushi Nami since the only one in existence was in Alpharetta. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner. I was very happy when "Too" opened in Sandy Springs, although the menu is very limited and caters to sushi lovers, mainly. Generally, I have had a good experience with Sushi over the years, although the prices are getting a bit out of control. The more concerning part is the service, which has consistently declined.
Last night was clearly the worst. The waitress, Pam, clearly miscommunicated my wishes about my drink order to the bartender (twice) and did not truthfully answer my questions when I asked why it tasted wrong. I moved to the bar and asked the bartender, Trian, to make the drink in front of me, so I could see what was wrong. It was quickly very clear. I do not appreciate being deceived. I do not appreciate an attempt to charge me premium prices for much lower than premium ingredients. Speaking to the person who claimed to be the "manager", Devin, but hardly was performing as one, was disappointing, at best. He was much more interested in yacking it up at the bar with the crowd. Unfortunately, the bar clientele has also changed. No longer the mature, sophisticated, professionals, but rather the young, self-entitled, and rude are now providing the ambiance. I hope the owner begins to spend more time at this location and brings back some of its previous charms. For the cost and the service, there are more desirable places in Sandy Springs.
