Very nice sushi spot! The food was fresh and they had real wasabi! The staff were all super friendly. I recommend the Bluefin Tuna and Fatty Tuna nigiri. Also the smoked salmon and escolar nigiri. Also the rolls were very good.

Phenomenal spot with high-quality fish. Blue fin fatty tuna was much fresher than any other sushi spots in metro Detroit and also very affordable. Great spot and appetizers were also awesome and fresh. Great spot and my go-to for sushi from now on.

This is my favorite restaurant. If I’m going anywhere I’m going here. They have great food. I’ve tried several items on the menu and never been disappointed, although if I have to pick a favorite it’s the salmon bowl. The people are so friendly. They always say bye when you leave and never once have I felt rushed. If you want the perfect date spot, this is it.

Great sushi place with good selection of rolls and udon/ramen dishes as well as appetizers. The service was friendly and the sushi chefs are chatty and funny with their customers at the sushi bar. The wait for the food was pretty long but we would still go back.

Tonight we had a wonderful experience. I was meeting a friend in Rochester Hills and I googled sushi places and I came across this business and saw the great reviews. Everything is true. It is absolutely a fantastic spot. We were greeted the minute we walked in and we sat down at the counter. Our server was so friendly and attentive and the chefs prepared the most delicious dinner. I had the cushed salmon bowl and my friend had the sweet potato sushi roll and miso soup. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We were so impressed! Even when we were leaving they thanked us. It was such a friendly, welcoming and delicious experience. I highly recommend trying this spot. You won't be disappointed.

This place is such a blessing. I travel for work and am in a new city every few weeks. I'm a bit uninspiring in that I usually get sushi for lunch/dinner most of the time I'm away. That being said... I eat a lot of sushi. I can't claim to know what's authentic or not, but I have a lot of comparisons to draw on. This place rocks and absolutely stands out among the many places I've visited. A few things stand out to me in particular that I'd really like to highlight. - The quality of the fist - Daily consistency - Speed & hospitality of the host and servers I ate here almost every day for lunch over the two week period I was in Rochester. Every day the fish was fresh, delicious, and very well prepared. I've been to a lot of places that have variation week to week and it's clear they put a lot of love into curating the ingredients. I was consistently happy with everything I tried and at this point I tried a significant amount of the menu. Everything was fantastic. Good food is always well paired with equally great staff. Every server was so friendly and accommodating. The chef(s) greet you with a warm "Hello!" when you first walk in and a "Thank you!" when you walk out. Every day. I don't bother writing reviews very often and I get the privilege to try a lot of restaurants. This place stands out as a true gem of all my travels and I will miss it dearly when I leave Michigan. I hope to return again soon. Thank you guys for a wonderful few weeks of meals. I wish you nothing but success. To everyone else... EAT HERE!

Wow wow wow! The sushi here was amazing – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. Loved the Cali roll, Dragon roll, Alaska roll, Ahi roll, and Shrimp Tempura. Every bite was delicious. 🌟🍣

went with friends & i got the sashimi set, miso soup, coke zero, & mochi ice cream (strawberry, mango, red bean, matcha) the sashimi set was so yummy! very fresh fish that had a lot of flavor. super enjoyable & would 100% get again. large slices of fish. served with super fluffy & delicious sushi rice that was perfectly cooked. the red bean mochi ice cream was my favorite flavor! the mango & strawberry were pretty basic, & the matcha / green tea was good, too, not overly sweet. served with whipped cream. the waitress forgot a lot of our food / it did take a while for it to come out BUT it was really good & she seemed very stressed (i think she was the only waitress working, the establishment is small so i recommend making a reservation on the weekends / if going later in the evening) the sushi chefs were SO sweet & kept thanking us as we were leaving! they were very authentic & seemed to be experts.

This sushi spot is adorable! Love the decor. The staff is so friendly and greets you with warm smiles. The sushi was fresh and prices were very reasonable. The Mexican roll was my favorite.

Been here a few times to get a collection of different rolls to go. Really nice place with really quick service! The rice on the rolls was really well cooked and the rolls were wrapped very tightly so they didn't fall apart when dipping!

Really good, affordable and fast sushi! My friend picked us up sushi for lunch. We ordered ahead and the wait was just 15 minutes. The staff was extremely friendly during pick up and we got three rolls for $21. Shrimp Tempura Roll was great, Crunch Crab Roll is my new favorite, and the California Roll was a classic. I'll be back!

Cute neighborhood sushi establishment located in a strip mall. Plenty of parking. It's light and bright inside. Tiny, but cozy and inviting. Sushi bar sits about 7-8 people. Maybe 4 other tables. Service was friendly. Seems like a family run biz. They use a lot of disposable plastic here from cups to condiment soufflé cups. Would love to see less waste here. My party ordered sushi rolls (veggie), miso soup, and a sashimi bowl. They have both cold and hot options for food. Not a ton of vegan options, but some. There is no tofu option for udon bowls that I saw. I didn't question broth ingredients assuming it's not vegan. The sushi rolls and soup I opted for were very good. Two sushi chefs wee creating clever rolls for other diners. They were very friendly. I don't believe they have a liquor license, but there are a few drink options including hot green tea. Prices were reasonable. Solid sushi option nearby!

The sushi and bowls are excellentI here! I specifically had the Sweet Potato Roll, Cucumber and Avocado Roll, and the Shrimp Tempura Roll sushi, as well as the cooked Salmon Bowl; all of which I would recommend. I did Grub Hub from here multiple times while visiting the area on business. The service was fast, and not at the cost of quality. Very clean, well prepared food of high quality for sure. Very impressed, and will continue to take out from here.

This place is FANTASTIC! We've gotten carry out a few times here and every time it is consistently good and fresh! The sushi is so good and love their udon! Inside is always clean and the staff is super friendly! We love it and will continue to get carry outs here!

Tiny rolls, plastic serving bowls. Generally fish tasted bland, just "OK". No beer, no brewed tea. Weird millennial vibe, I won't be coming back.

Great selection of fish. The bluefin tuna is a solid 4/5 but the pieces are in great ratio with the rice! Got the Alaska roll, a bit saucy but great taste and portion. The place is very clean and cozy. Miso soup tastes top tier

Omg yes i give a lot of 5 stars but this is one of those places that really deserve it. I got the lunch nigiri special and holy....the fish was so fresh and they put a nice amount on the rice, and it was soooo satisfying. I also loved the udon. Wow. Will be going here more often and so should all of u lol

My friend and I were wary and didn't expect much, but the fish quality here is quite fresh and prepared well. We didn't order too much because we weren't too hungry, but the two rolls we tried were impressive and I'd 100% come back in the near future for sushi. Very minor quips? The fish distribution wasn't even across pieces, but that's OK. The rice was a bit more brittle and could be a bit more soft - but flavor wise, it was great with a good amount of vinegar. SALMON ROLL - 6.50 I liked the salmon a lot as it was fresh and firm, with lots of salmon fat. It's a staple that most places get right, and Sushi Neko is no exception. YELLOWTAIL & SCALLION ROLL - 7 I feel like most places don't do yellowtail super well (either the taste is too fishy or the texture is off), but Sushi Neko's yellowtail is solid. There's also a good amount of scallion in it and overall, it's great. I liked it so much that I ordered another one! I'd 100% recommend the yellowtail & scallion here. The restaurant is small and doesn't have a lot of seating, but that's fine with me. As long as the sushi is good, I don't mind at all. I'll probably be back during Christmas for more sushi. I'd wanna try their otoro when they have it! That seems to be on their more "special" and limited menus.

*highly recommend making reservations or coming early for dinner Friday and Saturday* We came here on a Friday night and were luckily able to get a table for 2 right away. The sushi and udon are both amazing in prices and taste. The sushi melted in your mouth and the udon broth was very flavorful. Customer service went above and beyond, they were super busy that night (understandably so) but were very accommodating for the longer wait with our food. The restaurant itself is rather on the smaller side so I think this place would be better if you have smaller parties since it can be a bit tight when they're at capacity. Definitely would recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a more "traditional" Japanese sushi restaurant.

We had an excellent experience in this restaurant. Friendly service, clean restaurant, and absolutely delicious food! I had the salmon bowl, 1/2 of the sweet egg roll, and inari (fried tofu stuffed with rice). I was blown away by how delicious the food was. I will definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

Just tried Sushi Neko in Rochester Hills and I regret not finding it sooner! The space is very clean and all the food is incredibly fresh. We started with the edamame, very good but a little too heavily salted, and the miso soup which we enjoyed. We ordered several rolls to share and enjoyed them all. I personally loved the Alaska and firecracker the most. We also ordered the nigiri set and I have to admit we didn't really enjoy this - I was expecting this to be my favorite but the pieces were very thick and it tasted too strong and fishy. I usually prefer lighter pieces of raw fish so I wouldn't reorder this. Would definitely come back to try other rolls and the bowls!

Best sushi in Michigan. And I'm not talking about the average American crap that you find in every street corner. I'm talking about authentic Japanese Nigiri/Sashimi. They do not have any alcohol. But if you're looking for 5 star sushi. This stands alone.

popped in and only got a bbq eel roll to go, but it was a big #yum. Glanced at the rest of the menu - nice selection, actaully a little pricier than I exepcted ffrom teh outside. The sushi bar and seating area looked very clean. The hostess who took my order / served me was very friendly, as were the chefs behind the sushi bar. This place is pretty new. Maybe it's the same owner as honey wing which is in the same plaza? Anyway the ambience is great - small hole in the wall style but with modern decor. Shoulda taken some pix but my focus is always on the food. Since it's got sushi in the name, I opted for a caterpillar roll. It was really good - exceeded my expectations for sure. The flavor was perfect - didn't need any soy sauce dip at all. But what I enjoyed the most and perhaps is one of the most important parts of sushi is the rice. The texture was something else. It's not too mushy and not to hard but the perfect mochi-like chew. Just enough bounce! Next time we shall try some sides and noodle soup! Only reason it's missing that final star is that my buddies said the portions were too small and they were still hungry afterwards. Most got a noodle soup dish and roll. Service was solid - just one waitress though. But then again there's only like 4-5 tables..

Wouldn't get again - [ ] Shrimp dumplings were small and eh. Just okay

Place is a great location to get fresh and clean sushi. The couple that run the restaurant are very enthusiastic and seem to work very hard for you to have a good time. They have a strong selection of fish to choose from and all the fish tasted very fresh. Chirashi bowl is always a good bet but I also shared a deluxe sashimi combo which was also amazing. 10/10 would visit again. Give them some love!

Sushi Neko has become my go-to sushi spot in the Rochester/Rochester Hills area. The location is small and easy to miss, but the freshness and quality will not be forgotten. The menu isn't as large as most places you see but every item is very well done and the actual quality exceeds nearly every other place place I've been to around here. The Salmon on the Beach roll and Firecracker roll are on my mind anytime I think about sushi. The owners and chef are awesome people and very accommodating. If you're still trying to decide to try this place just look at every other 5 star review. It's the bee's knees.

Very friendly and personal business. The food is always great. I love the fresh wasabi for my sushi. There is something magical about it. They treat my daughter like a person. I know that sounds weird, but it's refreshing for people to greet a kid and engage them. She really feels comfortable there. She often says I want sushi from the kitty place. Her favorite is the cucumber sushi. It's a new business and I hope you give it a try.

Fine place for sushi in the area. I've gone here multiple times. The soup included could be larger but it's worth the price.

One word: wow! Possibly the freshest sushi I've ever tasted in Michigan. Don't walk, run here. We tried the sushi neko roll, spicy salmon, and the SYT roll and boy did they hit the spot. Try the fresh wasabi too while you're at it! Definitely coming back to try the poke bowls. 10/10

What an incredible new spot in Rochester! We have lived in the area for 4 years now and have yet to find a sushi spot that serves fresh and well prepared sushi. The owner Sang was extremely hospitable and welcoming! We came in close to closing and he didn't skip a beat to offer us the full experience. Go check out and support this place as it truly was fantastic and so incredibly fresh!
