Family‑run since 2000, this pioneer of Reno’s all‑you‑can‑eat sushi scene remains a go‑to for nigiri, rolls, and baked mussels. Featured in SFGATE’s report on Reno’s AYCE culture, it reflects the city’s enduring appetite for quality and value.

This was a very welcoming establishment! You could tell that the people who work there are really comfortable and have good bonds with the regulars. Everything was made fresh, and I tried something new that I really liked. I thought that the options were great for the price point. The restroom was clean and tidy, and the parking lot was busy, but it was pretty easy to find a spot. Overall, I thought this was a great value and would love to come back.

Have you ever had a week where you had to make so many decisions, that by the time you got to Friday, you couldn’t make one more decision?!? That was me tonight… and boy am I glad I found this place for dinner! Sat at the sushi bar and the chef knew what to prep 🙌 Super chill place, with fantastic sushi at a great price! Loved the Mountain with all tuna 😋 Will definitely be back!

Google
Worst sushi in Reno. the rice is hard, sushi roll pieces are huge and the piece breaks as you try to put it in your mouth. We haven’t been here in almost ten years and now we remember why.

Google
Best sushi I have had in awhile. We were traveling through Reno and decided to give this place a try. This is a little jem of a place with friendly staff and good food. My only complaint is the place is small, but great food and a good value. Prices were reasonable.

Google
It was sushi when I was hungry and it was nearby. Unfortunately the rolls were very loose and fell apart very easily and the food just didn't seem to really have any wow factor at all. But it was mostly good and it was edible. Although I have been to several other sushi places in the last few months and only here, did I walk away with that weird swimming feeling. Higher quality fish doesn't do that to you. I doubt I'll be back. Not because it was horrible; it wasn't. They just didn't give me any reason to want to.

This restaurant has been the only one that my husband and I are always craving for. We have not found a single other place that has sushi as delicious as it is here. We started coming before we got married and since then the quality has spectacular! We hope to have the same quality of food and service for years and years.

Google
Great spot for sushi in Reno. Located in the same plaza Costco is. Good value, only $21 for lunch. They have a specific lunch menu for AYCE, but definitely worth it. Dinner is $28 with the whole menu opened up. 4/5 stars because it’s a great value, good quality, but you can tell from my first two photos that the skill level in slicing the fish is different. The texture wasn’t the same on unskilled level. Maybe just a new person learning. Great place! I’d come back!

Yelp
My experience at sushi pier was just ok. It's a pretty small restaurant and it was busy that night with only two servers so the wait time was a little long in between. My friend and I did the all you can eat option and ordered a couple appetizers, nigiri, and rolls. For appetizers we ordered the tempura stuffed calamari, moondog stars, baked mussels, miso soup, and house salad. Both the tempura stuffed calamari and the moondog stars were rock hard to bite into so I wasn't a fan of it. The baked mussels and house salad was just ok. I did like the miso soup a lot tho. For nigiri, I had the salmon, saba, unagi, and upside down shrimp. None of these really stood out to me so it was just meh. I had also ordered the salmon skin handroll which was good in my opinion. All I can say is that I'm glad I finally tried it. It's been on my list and I can cross it off.

Yelp
I referred to my Reno Yelp collection to see where I wanted to eat at while spending a few days in Reno. I've had this bookmarked since a friend suggested it a few years back. After a shopping run this morning hubby & I were ready to eat some sushi. The restaurant has a very small footprint. The windows are obscured due to the Reno desert heat. Is it opened for business? Yep. We were shown to a table today Monday around 12pm. You can do AYCE or order a la carte. We went with ACYE lunch $25.95. Pros: * good variety of long sushi rolls - not too much rice on each. * good variety of nigiri - my go to's always unagi & hamachi. * excellent hand rolls - we each got the salmon skin. Hubby's had salmon skin and octopus * the mussel appetizer was very fresh according to hubby. * green tea ice cream was refreshing. Cons: * we ordered too many long sushi rolls. Good thing the staff knew to only make one Godzilla and one Elvis even though we ordered two each. Definitely would have been too much. * I thought the California roll just ok. Too much imitation crab and not enough avocado. You're allowed three rounds on a very extensive two sided paper order form - 1) certain lunch appetizers 2) long sushi rolls 3) nigiri 4) hand rolls & 5) desserts. We were only good for one substantial round. By round two we ordered very few items. And no round three at all. Done. We paid cash as they've implemented a 3.5 % credit card fee. The restaurant is located in a strip mall where Costco warehouse is the anchor store.

Yelp
If you're looking for a really good quality sushi spot within the Reno metropolitan area, then look no further because Sushi Pier is your spot. Tucked away behind a busy shopping center right down the street from the Atlantis Casino, you will find Sushi Pier. It is a smaller sushi restaurant, and depending on the time of day and whether or not you're coming during a busy week or weekend, you may want to consider calling ahead of time because once the tables fill up, expect to wait at least 30 to 45 minutes for something to free up. We did the lunch buffet here which will run you roughly about $27 per adult and this is average for the Reno metropolitan area as of today 5/2025. Thankfully we did not have to wait when we arrived and we were quickly seated to a table. The sushi buffet is make to order type of buffet which I prefer over the sushi boat style buffet. At least you know that the sushi rolls are being made fresh upon request. We tried a variety of sushi rolls and appetizers. I really enjoyed the fried scallop nigire, the yellowtail and mackerel nigiri. The potstickers were also very good. I also very much enjoyed their surf side clam nigir, and we did try out one of their specialty long rolls. They do offer bar seating which is nice of you are eating solo. The service here was ok. At times we kind of felt a bit rushed and or forgotten. Maybe this is because of the sudden rush after we came in for lunch? Either way, all of our requests did make it out from the kitchen. Unfortunately wouldn't take any photos because we were too hungry and did not bother to think about taking photos plus the quality of the sushi fish was very good over here by the way. Pretty much every nigiri role that we had had that buttery texture slightly and to me that signals quality.

Yelp
They have an amazing takeout special and reasonable all you can eat sushi! In addition they have a gluten free menu and are super knowledgeable about additional Modifications. I've attached photos of the current GF menu to make it easier for folks to order online. But if you go in or call in the staff can advise too. If you are ordering takeout and have some items you want to remain with gluten make sure to specify that or they might modify everything for you. That happened once when my gluten-eating husband ordered crystal shrimp - they sent raw shrimp. But for me this is great as I'd much rather a place defer to assuming everything should be gluten free than getting sick!

Yelp
I love this place and always have. The sushi has always been so good since I was a kid and the quality hasn't changed. The server there was very polite when taking our order and didn't forget a thing. He was tipped well for is positive service! I love the beach ambiance in there. The mirrors are a nice touch. And this is random but holy cow I have never seen a bathroom so clean that should foreshadow the cleanliness that there kitchen probably has. Unfortunately I scarfed my food down so fast I forgot to take pictures but I do strangely have pictures of how clean the bathroom is there haha xD I'll drop those below. But please try this place out. So good. Yum yum yum! (Godzilla and Nigiri were awesome. And don't forget the mussels!)

Yelp
Sushi Pier consistently turns out exceptional dishes, and Kim's Fritters are ones I dream about. Crispy, delicately wrapped rice with crab and avocado on top. They are so tasty. I treated myself to some for Mother's Day. A side of creamy coleslaw and edamame made for a perfect meal. I've always gotten my meals to go, but I noticed how adorable the decorations were for Mother's Day -- balloon bouquets and fresh flowers. I just may have to eat there one of these days

Yelp
A small shop near DT Reno! The space is limited and the wait time is not too bad! Our waiter, pretty quick with his service and accurate on his order taking! The staff in general is pretty helpful, which I liked! The AYCE price is kind of pricey for Nevada, but so good considering the quality of sushi and options included! We loved the quail egg shooters and the nigiri! We absolutely will come back here again, since it's literally 5 mins away from the our fave resort ( Grand Sierra).

Yelp
Mussels Donald duck Marilyn Monroe Titan roll Were the things I ordered. The Marilyn is a basic roll that helps cleanse the taste in your mouth between rolls. By itself, it is very bland. I only order when I need the blandness between two powerful rolls. The Titan was good. I prefer the Ava over the Titan. The Ava has more bold flavors. The Donald duck is a common appetizers for sushi places. Donald tasted good. Not too much rice. The mussels were perfectly done. Not overly chewy. I had 14 mussels total. Over all this is a good go to place. Never that crowded. We are always sat very quickly with little to no wait times.

Yelp
Great experience overall! The original sushi pier is a cozy location (not too big so recommend making a reservation or calling ahead if you have a party of 5 or more). The service is very kind, they do want to accommodate for you and as we came as a group of 7, they were able to still get us seated but we did split into 2 tables. We did AYCE and we love it here! The Nigiris are super worth it, we recommend getting as many Donald's as your heart desires! We also loved the Special Scallop hand roll and the Happy Ending fried banana dessert is perfect to close out AYCE... seriously! PARKING is super easy in the outdoor lot right outside, they have a bathroom in the restaurant, and they offer takeout ordering too. If you do come at a busy time and have to wait, since this location is small, there is not much room to wait inside (would keep in mind if it's raining or cold outside). Overall, we love Sushi Pier whenever we come to Reno! Check it out for a homey, comforting sushi experience!

Yelp
Went for ayce lunch, which isn't bad for $25 a person. Seated right away and we were able to order through a sheet, with three rounds throughout the meal. The service was good, attentive the whole time, and the food came at a reasonable time. The menu consists of appetizers, nigiri, hand rolls, and long rolls. The rice, which is a prominent part in the sushi experience, was dry and hard. It was definitely noticeable, as it was hard to eat at times. I hope it was just the time I went, and not a consistent thing. They give a lot of rice to fish ratio. The fish I tried (eel, tuna, salmon, squid, octopus) were good, no fishy taste, and very fresh. The rainbow roll however, the fish inside was a little fishy, not very pleasant. I could not finish. The muscles had good flavor. Overall, a good experience and customer service was so nice. The ayce also includes ice cream in the end.

Yelp
came here for lunch on a monday at 2:30pm! what a cute little restaurant! staff was very friendly, they have a sushi bar in the middle where people were seated and they ordered their ayce orders directly to the chef! the chefs in the middle were co cute and sweet. i really liked the environment of the restaurant. ayce for lunch was $26! i was surprise that they offered all you can eat, im from the bay area so its pretty common but i was surprised they have one in reno. as a reminder, nevada isn't close to any oceans so it is hard to get fish out here. i thought this place was pretty good for the price, the staff was friendly and attentive, and considering that its all the way in reno. my favorite was the salmon nigiri! i can eat prolly 10 orders in one sitting. i thought the tuna was weirdly pink, but it was not fishy at all! i also recommend getting the donald, i really liked it, it was like a deconstructed california roll but with salmon! i definitely recommend coming here if you like to eat a lot of sushi and want to pay a reasonable price for all you can eat. it's good for what you pay for and you leave full!

Yelp
I needed to do something the last hour before my flight and this place caught my eye, especially since it's all you can eat. The lunch pricing is only until 3pm. Dinner all you can eat is $32.95. I didn't know how close it was to the airport until I drove after my meal, but let me tell you, it's extremely close! You will make it to your flight if you eat here. Bathroom is also pretty clean. There is plenty of parking in the front for this restaurant. They are right across from Costco. (I had just finished filling up the gas for my rental car.) As soon as you walk in, there is somebody there to seat you immediately. It is a cozy space, but still big enough for family dining. I was seated right in front of the sushi bar and I'm not used to the sushi chef asking me directly what I would like to order, but it wasn't busy and he's literally right in front of you! Thankfully by the end of the meal I got more comfortable ordering. They ask you frequently if you would like anything else. The quality of fish was decent. The quality of the avocado and cucumber was even better. Vegetarian options are plenty. Since they were not that busy the service was very quick. The service was also friendly and straight to the point. Pictured is the 007 roll and since it is deep fried it takes a little bit longer to come out. I was surprised to see how deep fried it was! I almost did not get my money's worth because the 007 roll slowed me down. Keep in mind that long rolls are 8-10 pieces. At the end of the meal, ice cream was offered. It was good ice cream. I grabbed green tea. I know they also have mango and other flavors available. Overall, I would come here again. For the sushi and the price, it is a good deal. Hopefully with friends and family so they can experience it as well. Great last stop for my Reno trip. Support the business!

Yelp
Came on the long weekend's Saturday night and when we got here it was already 8:20 and they close at 9pm. It was a bit rushed for AYCE but we got lucky as we sat on the sushi bar where we could directly make our orders. Although I heard of Sushi Pier before it was my first time here. The shop was smaller than I thought but with 4 sushi chef in the center, our busy orders were magically all taken care of. Our lady waitress and sushi chef worked quickly to get our orders. It looks like they got our orders and plated them and gave us all together. Luckily each of us only ordered 2-3 items each time so we could keep ordering while eating to cut down the wait time. We found that combining orders also help, so the chef and make a bunch at a time. To be honest, the sushi cuts aren't that big or thick, but the orders added up quickly. The quail egg shooter was a bit disappointing as the spicy sauce sank to the bottom. The ikura were unlimited and they were so fresh that I rated them the best! The Mickey and Donald are all good, the unagi is also descent. Hamachi are fresh, salmon looks good, I didn't like the snapper as it was drizzled with sriracha. For 32.95 a person I found it good value with fresh sushi and good service!

Yelp
Date of Visit: 8/3/2024 We visited the Sushi Pier in Reno after a short hike at the Tahoe Rim Trail. We arrived around 7:30pm and sat at the bar right away. The price for lunch all you can eat is $25.95, which is available everyday before 3pm. And you can get dinner all you can eat at any time for $32.95, which includes a whole page of dinner rolls. We ordered the miso soup and baked mussels from the waiter, and we ordered the following with the chef at the bar: - Quail Eggs Shooter - Salmon Roe Nigiri - Freshwater Eel Nigiri - Yellowtail Nigiri - Salmon Nigiri - Flying Fish Roe Nigiri - Snapper Nigiri - Seared Tuna Nigiri - Octopus Nigiri Everything was good except the octopus. The octopus were soft and with lots of tendons and hard to chew. We picked oranges with plum wine and green tea ice cream for desserts at the end.

Yelp
The food here was okay. Not the best, not the worst. We did the all you can eat and got full pretty quickly. The nigiris and hand rolls have way too much rice in them and the rice was kind of hard. Some items like the stuffed deep fried squid and tempura upside down crab were pretty good. For AYCE, kids price is the same as adults so I'm taking off a star for that. Children 3 and under do not eat free like at other AYCE restaurants. Instead, they have a kids menu to order separately from. My two year old hardly ate his food so it would have been nice to have that option. I got the miso soup and it was really salty. The quail egg shooters were also very salty. Customer service was good. The waitress came over often.

Yelp
We were hungry having left the National Auto Museum and who doesn't love AYCE sushi? We arrived just before 2pm and they honored our participation in the AYCE. Very lovely waitress and wait time not long at all before our food started flowing. As I compare the items to what I am accustomed to, many items are different. The house salad is more like cole slaw because it's cabbage and carrots verus lettuce. Tempura is panko breaded versus a light batter and the pot stickers are deep fried versus pan fried. We had a couple of the special scallop hand rolls and a combo hand roll along with salmon and tuna nigiri, rainbow and Ava long rolls. The fish is fresh but it's missing a certain sweetness for me and the rice isn't fluffy. Again, these are my preferences. This place is across from Costco, has plenty of parking and looks to be a nice local hangout. On the way back to South Lake, I realized that they must be related to Sushi Pier at State line. Support this local business! Oh, and bring cash because there is a 3+% fee for card usage.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this is an AYCE sushi place that doesn't mix up sashimi cuts... So many all you can eat sushi places in the order sashimi give you the same thin small cuts of nigiri, but charge you a premium price. This place never does that. Ordered food to pick up today. 16 piece sashimi dinner deluxe. Oh they did forget to give me the rice on the 16 piece deluxe sashimi dinner. We had to ask for the miso. Otherwise it would've been five star.

Yelp
One of our favorite sushi spots in town! The sushi is always fresh, chef's and staff are always super nice and the variety of rolls and nigiri are plentiful. It's a small restaurant, so seating fills up quickly. They also offer to go specials for those days you are craving sushi, but want to relax at home. 10/10 recommend.
google avatar

Alyssa F.

Yelp
This place has been around forever. Everything we had was fresh and delicious ! My favorite part about Sushi Pier is the amount of scallop handrolls a they have. For some reason, other spots don't have this many options. They have a bunch of fun appetizers, but the mussels are always a hit. Lots of drink options as well. Service was attentive and quick ! I'm giving 4 stars due to the nigiri pieces being far too big. A lot of rice and fish. I prefer more bite size nigiri

Yelp
To me Sushi Pier is the standard that AYCE in Reno is built on. I am pretty sure it is one of the oldest continuously running sushi places in town. (the oldest one I know of) That is not to say they haven't kept with the times and offerings. Like Bento and Poke. For us the originals still hold strong. Spider, , Sushi Pier's LR, Komodo, Dragon, Caterpillar and Reno rolls are the staples. The atmosphere is still great here. Sure AYCE dinner is up to $33.00 but that is pretty normal for dinner anymore.
google avatar

Diana S.

Yelp
The sushi was great for all you can eat! You mark down on a sheet of paper what you want per round. They have an assortment of sushi rolls, nigiri, and appetizers to choose from. The nigiri were fresh and tasty. The service was quick and friendly! The restaurant has cute sea-themed decor.

Yelp
Amazing meal again of wonderfully prepared sushi. Fast and friendly service in my favorite spot in Reno!

Yelp
Sushi pier is a solid AYCE option! We came in amidst the blizzard warnings so the shop was pretty empty! Service was extremely attentive and fast and they even laughed as our jokes veered into the morbid and didn't make us seem like the weirdos we are! Thanks team! The sushi is good. I appreciate that they aren't just dumping fruit on everything and calling it a new roll. Personally, as a former Marylander I'd like people to stop putting "soft shell crab" on menus when it's just not soft shell crab, but whatever it is it is still tasty. The unagi in particular was generous!!! The space is clean and comfortable. Ultimately, what I'm looking for in my AYCE is to be full and happy and they provided that. Hats off to the chef.

Yelp
I'm pretty picky about sushi. I never do AYCE and if it's not good, I will never go back. Willing to pay more for the quality, but it's still very hard to find in Reno. I have a friend who keeps posting the Sushi Pier's sushi/poke photos on SNS, so we finally decided to give it a try. All A-la-carte sushi (as opposed to AYCE), and they were all excellent. My favorite is ikura and scallops, and both were the best I've had in Reno. The rolls were also delicious. Another thing I really liked about this restaurant is that it was quiet. We sat near the kitchen, but there were very little kitchen noises. The staff didn't yell to each other (you'd be surprised how common this is), and the two ladies who were serving the tables were so sweet, efficient and soft-spoken. I'm very sensitive to noises, so I really appreciated that. It really made our experience pleasant. We also ordered a poke to take home to our son, and he said it was great! We will have to try that next time. Definitely going back.

Yelp
Wow! This was such a fun experience. We head that Sushi Pier had an 'All You Can Eat (AYCE) Sushi', so we had to try it out. We arrived for a fairly early dinner, and they were able to seat us at the sushi bar. Our server was friendly and walked us though which pages we were able to order from which was nearly all of them. For sushi rolls and nigiri we just asked the sushi chef to make them. For other items we asked our server(s). For the AYCE, I had suspected it would just be some generic rolls, but it included everything. I tried the Dragon, Spider, Komodo, Godzilla, and Caterpillar rolls in addition to Fish Egg Nigiri. All of it was exceptional. It was great to watch our sushi chef make everything and be able to chat with her. Our waiters, yes plural, were both friendly and prompt. There was even dessert included. I highly recommend Sushi Pier!

Yelp
To cut to the chase, i would rate this place 3.5 stars overall, but because my server was really great i am bumping that to 4 stars. I got a rainbow long roll and an order of gyoza. Things i liked: - small space but clean and nice decor - servers were attentive and prompt with refills - good value for the price Things that could have been better: - the menu didn't have pictures so for first timers it takes forever to get through the menu - i was told i could customize the order if eating ala carte, but when i tried a substitution chef got confused so i just ordered something without changes - on menu it was hard to understand what was inside the roll and what was on top - gyoza was deep fried, which is OK but pan fried has a better texture in my opinion - ala carte gyoza came with slaw, which i didn't understand. I don't like slaw so that went untouched. - rainbow roll was okay, but could really use a sauce on top instead of roe. Flavor was just flat I will go back and try some different rolls but on my list of sushi places in reno, this somewhere in the middle. Not fantastic, but not terrible either. Probably not someplace i would drive across town to get to but if i was at costco anyway, it might be convenient.

Yelp
Here at Sushi Pier you can do the AYCE or a la carte. My family came here for the AYCE, we were seated at the bar and received great service. The chef will ask you what you would like to eat and make it for you right away! As for appetizers, you'll have to ask any of the waiters or waitresses for them and they will also bring it to you. My favorite was the scallop handroll and the upside down shrimp nigiri. Both included little scallop sashimi that was super flavorful and sweet!

Yelp
When it's busy, you know it's GOOD! Service was awesomazing! One got us seated quicker than we thought we had to wait (sorry, forgot to get his name) and Luke, our server, was helpful, funny, and nice. Sushi was amazing! I can't remember the names but they were all yummilicious and fresh! Plenty of wasabi available :) the salmon was superb! The spicy ones had just enough spice but didn't overpower the freshness of the seafood. Surrounding was Hawaiian theme and had a happy-chill vibes. All in all, a great place for some AYCE. Would recommend.

Yelp
On our previous visit, we had a fairly average experience during their dinner service. But we dropped by for dinner during a random week night and while the restaurant had patrons, it wasn't crowded at all; so our 3-person party was seated immediately. Our server (I wish I caught her name) was bright and chipper; she accommodated each of our requests efficiently and with great zeal. As for the food, what we received was fairly good especially the rolls but some of the nigiris still fell apart when we tried to pick them up with chopsticks so we started picking them up with our fingers. Overall, we had a pleasant meal, much better than our last visit and we will definitely drop by again.

Yelp
Shocked as to how cheap sushi is in Reno. I guess theres a sushi war going on here. We ordered take out and theres online specials for that. $32 for three rolls of your choice plus 2 orders of nigiri (4 pieces), and an appetizer. Most rolls are pretty big and run between $7 to $11 if ordered a la carte. Nigiri is about $4-5. At these prices we decided ayce wasn't necessary for us. Quality was decent--not "premium"--but much better than you would expect for a place offering $32 ayce. Note: You see "crystal shrimp" on menus a lot here. turns out its just regular old shrimp. usually tempera battered in the roll even if it doesnt say (like the Mountain Roll).

Yelp
We got here after 7pm on a Friday and they were able to seat us at the bar. Two of us opted for the ayce and that was a great idea. I love sushi but not with all the extra rice so we just ordered whatever we wanted from the sushi chefs in front of our counter. Actually the rice on all the nigiris was not much and we just ordered away. Our favorite nigiris were hamachi, salmon, mackerel, unagi. We really enjoyed the raw scallop. It was tender and succulent. We had quail egg shooters as well. We also got the salmon skin hand roll. It was packed with pieces of seasoned skin and salmon bits. One was good to share with my hubby. We also ordered the salmon roe, flying fish eggs with quail egg. An order of house salad, baked mussels which had a kick and we were done. To polish off our meal we had a happy ending and mango ice cream. Great meal, not stuffed but happy.

Yelp
They really need to work on their rice recipe. It didn't have that good flavor. Other than that the sushi was good! The only thing that set them apart from good and quality sushi is the rice.

Yelp
This is the ONLY sushi spot that I have found that has brown rice!!! I love my rolls/nigiri with brown rice. They have a good variety of rolls as well on their dinner and long roll menu! The only thing I don't like is how big their rolls are. I can usually only have 1-2 because their rolls are MASSIVE! So good for a young teenage boy! The service is great! Sitting at the bar, we only waited a little while to get our rolls but they were super busy :) The server was on top of our drinks and mussels and dessert! They have outdoor seating as well though no one was sitting out there yet.

Yelp
We did not order all you can eat as 7 of us, only 2 eat sashimi. My kids only want avocado roll lol. We ordered beef teriyaki with tempura Bento box, sashimi plate, 5 rolls, one hand roll and one udon. Cooked foods were ok, sashimi was fresh. The restaurant is good for small groups for all you can eat.

Yelp
Service was excellent and we had all you can eat for $25. The rolls were great but the highlight was they had oyster shooters on the all you can eat. Highly recommend.

Yelp
AYCE sushi for about $40 which isn't a bad deal. Got there early and luckily a table was available. Noticed that folks make reservations and there could be a wait if you don't. I'm not much of an AYCE person since I get full after a few rolls. Nevertheless the fish was fresh and the pot of hot green tea on the table was convenient since we don't have to keep asking for tea refill. Service was pretty fast too. Sake was really fresh melt in your mouth type of thing - hamachi too + unagi. You get a scoop of ice cream for dessert to cleanse the palate. For someone who can enjoy more than a few fresh rolls, this is the place for you.

Yelp
There used to be two Sushi Pier locations - the midtown space closed three years ago. Unfortunately, it was the far more spacious and showy location. The last standing location, on Plumb road in the Costco shopping parking lot, is quite cramped, with leftover seating wedged on the scant perimeter of the oversized sushi bar. Therefore, make sure you have a reservation especially for parties greater than 4. Like several sushi places in Reno, the all-you-can-eat is the best value proposition for hungry souls. What used to be $21 at places like Kitzmo have now adjusted closer to big city prices but at $32.95, it's still the bargain, given the general food quality. The all-you-can-eat menu is pretty extensive. I would steer clear of any dinner rolls unless there are others in your party to share, otherwise you'll be sacrificing variety. Nigiri - maguro, hamachi and albacore all super fresh and flavorful. Try either the upside down shrimp or upside down crab for something new. Tobiko with quail egg - pretty standard, always delicious. Hand rolls - hamachi is impressively stuffed with yellow tail cubes. The Salmon Skin (with or without an octopus sidekick) is a must-order. It's chewy, flavorful and jerky-like, which requires some strong jaws but so very yummy. Appetizers - moondog stars (shrimp/crab) wrapped in fried wonton is just okay - also order if sharing, otherwise those two nuggets take up precious space in your tummy. House salad is impressive: shredded cabbage with a mouthwatering dressing - get it. Service is repeatedly great - super nice and attentive. We try to make it back here at least once a year. That's all.

Yelp
My wife and I got a DoorDash order from this place. We had the Rainbow, Dragon, Mt. Rose, Mr. Pink, Mountain and the Joey Ramon roll. Sushi wasn't bad. Good size rolls. But it wasn't great. The avocado on the Rainbow roll had that last of a day too late Avocado. The other rolls were decent but not a lot of mixing flavor. We have eaten a lot of sushi all over the world and it was a little disappointing for us. We will probably try again when we move to the area but going to try other places before having Sushi Pier again.

Yelp
Had my 1st hen night there a few months back, food was pretty okay. Granted there was a lot going on and I drank a lot of sake on an empty stomach. Service was great though! Got some pictures!

Yelp
Great sushi place near Costco that has an All You Can Eat (AYCE) option. There is about 6-8 tables and bar seating. We stopped in for lunch and left more than full! For the AYCE lunch option you can order limited appetizers (miso, mussels, veg tempura, gyoza, etc) and also off a full page of nigiri, hand roll and long roll options. The sushi chefs do a great job and are very accommodating and efficient when ordering from the bar. They keep your orders coming and check in with you as well as take a lot of pride in the preparation. The quail egg shooters are a must - flavorful and fun! Our favorites were the salmon nigiri and scallop. This is a really good place for AYCE sushi, make sure you come hungry!!

Yelp
I purchased a number of $100.00 gift cards from Costco for Sushi Pier I have had been using them at South Lake Tahoe over the years The restaurant in Reno has refused to honor them It's interesting that they happily took my money and years later refused to accept them Tells a lot about their ethics

Yelp
Tried to call but no one picked up. Ordered online from their website for pick up just to find out that it's their carry-out specials are cheaper (by $10!) ordering at the store even tho was already charged a "platform fee" for ordering online. Even got an email when ordering thanking me for keeping their cost down by not ordering through a 3rd party app! Asked the server why the $$ difference and she didn't know esp since we were picking up but she will leave a msg for the owners. I even emailed the owners asking, but they didn't bother to respond. Not much for almost $95 worth of food and the rolls were very small and slim. Was shopping at Costco and figured I would support a local restaurant and order from them, but left feeling over-charged, family still hungry, and not definitely valued for patronizing. Took an hour too for food to be ready! Ridiculous!! They can write about valuing their customers all they want, if they don't act on it, great way to lose a customer. First time, last time. Should've gotten sushi at Costco next door instead where it would've been better, bigger, and cheaper!

Yelp
You can always judge a sushi restaurant by their quality of rice and fish. I'm giving Sushi pier a 4.5 stars for their fish. I thought the Salmon, tuna, eel were all cut finely, and the quality of fish was up to my standards. This is an AYCE type restaurant for $40 something?! That's so worth it! The quail egg shooters, fish skin handroll, spicy tuna handroll, and nigiri's were all fire. Our party of 4 came on a Saturday night without reservations and had to wait about 30 minutes or so. But so worth it! The waiters and waitresses were tentative and really quick with our orders. Luckily, last call was a 9pm, or else we would've continued to stuff ourselves. At last, they took our dessert orders (mango, green tea, and the sundae ice cream). All of which was standard but a sweet touch to wrap up the night. All in all, check out Sushi Pier! This place was packed and resy would've been clutch. So call in the next time you go.

Yelp
Coming from the bay area, I always go here when I visit reno with family. Although I cannot rate the all you can eat sushi portion, as i do not eat sushi, I can give review to the entre items. the udon tastes watered down and seems very lacking in ingredients. more of a picky eater's delight. On the other hand, I enjoy the shrimp tempura that comes with soup, rice, and salad. Even though the menu says they give 6 pieces, they always give extra which I extremely appreciate! From what the rest of my family says, they believe the price of the all you can eat sushi is always worth a stop. Every year we bring more families to come enjoy with us :) The service is top notch and very understanding. they always come by to take more order and refill waters. The restaurant itself isn't so big so make sure to put in your reservations because the wait line may take awhile!

Yelp
Terrible customer service with hostess and waiter Over priced 22 for my 2 year old Terrible kids options Prep sushi person is the only reason it's good He was attentive and made rolls at a prompt timely manner Not the greatest sushi place I had way better Dissatisfied
