Sushi-San at the Willis Tower never misses and always gets it right! Big fan of the hand rolls for a quick lunch that is delicious, satisfying, and reasonably priced. My favorites are the crunchy fatty tuna, toro, spicy scallop, and then mixing it up with the roll of the day. Nice miso soup comes with the combo and you can stick with water or a refreshing cold green tea. Pull up to the bar, say what’s up to the friendly team, check some email, or just vibe. Long live Sushi-San!

Google
I ordered pick up today, spicy shrimp sushi and the two spicy shrimp tacos. The tacos were delicious! The Sushi was okay, I’ve had way better from grocery stores - I don’t think having a singular piece of cucumber in the roll full of rice would honestly constitute as sushi, but the shrimp ball on top was tasty. Only reason I rate this a 4 is for the tacos. I hope to see better on the sushi for next time.

Hugo is AMAZING! We’re visiting with family that had never been to Chicago. Came to the Willis Tower for the Skydeck but it was too cloudy of a day. We spent our time at Sushi San and Hugo gave us great recommendations, made delicious old fashions with Japanese whiskey, and started off our Sake bombs (too fun!). The atmosphere is really open and nice to hang out. I would highly recommend checking them out!

Google
I’m really disappointed by the quality of the sushi here! I love Lettuce Entertain You restaurants, however, the salmon and avocado roll I ordered was bland and over priced. I really hope the quality of the food improves. The one upside of my visit was the service. The woman at the counter taking orders was very nice.

Google
Great choice for lunch in the Loop area. I like the Spicy tuna, the fish is always fresh. The edamame hummus is so good, I would get it again. I've never been disappointed by any of their rolls.

Google
I go here after their lunch rush for their hand rolls. Once you order, you get to watch the chef make it and hand it to you. Portions are on the small side, but their seaweed is crisp and ingredients are fresh. Every time I've gotten their roll of the day it's something I haven't ever seen before at a sushi restaurant, and it's delicious.

Lavell made our lunch perfectly and with great positive energy. We had a mix of hand rolls and beer and lemonade. The service was unbeatable and the atmosphere was perfect for a quick stop for lunch. We will be back!

Google
Convenient and fresh sushi spot for lunch if you work in the loop. Love the spicy shrimp and spicy tuna rolls. The sides (e.g., tofu, seaweed salad, etc.) are also very on point in terms of flavor. They also serve nigiri, but I haven’t had it. I usually just go in and grab items from their little fridge area (line is pretty short), but you can order ahead as well and just go to pick up.

Yelp
Sushi-San was so good! They had fresh sushi rolls and amazing appetizer. Our waitress gave us so many recommendations and we love it! The ambiance was such a great vide for a Friday night date night. Drinks were on point and really recommend trying this out with your partner or friends or even a girls night out.

Yelp
I decided to try Sushi-San based on some recommendations, but my experience left me rather disappointed. I ordered a Spicy Shrimp Taco and a Spicy Tuna roll. The Spicy Shrimp Taco, priced at $6, was actually quite decent and offered good value for the money. It was flavorful and well-prepared, which raised my expectations for the rest of the meal. However, the Spicy Tuna roll was a letdown. The roll was bland and lacked any complexity in flavor, which was surprising for a staple item. More concerning was the scant amount of actual tuna in the roll--it was almost non-existent. For a sushi spot, I found this particularly disheartening. Given the mixed quality of my meal, I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're craving sushi. While the shrimp taco was enjoyable, the sushi itself doesn't live up to expectations.

Yelp
Sushi sans happy hour is one of my favorites. Fresh rolls, spicy tuna crispy rice, and other appetizers to choose from. Get there early as they tend to fill up.

Yelp
I didn't actually get to eat at Sushi-San, but I intended to... except the handroll bar was closed but we can order rolls. I thought that was silly, especially since there was no signage. We were advised we could sit there though. I thought it was really disappointing, as the establishment is open until 4pm. I guess better luck next time.

Yelp
Got take away (as opposed to sitting at the counter) after visiting the SkyDeck, and was very impressed with the quality and presentation of food. Since we were here during peak lunch hours, there was a little bit of a wait in line, but it was totally worth it. Everything was incredibly fresh, and I loved the packets of soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. Willis Tower offers a nice variety of dining options, but this pretty stand got my attention. Whether you're visiting the Tower or passing by and looking for a healthy and delicious lunch option, this place will not disappoint. It's way more than a lobby sushi bar. It offers items that you'd find in any great sushi restaurant.

Yelp
I normally love this spot but the bartender Frances acted like he couldn't hear me when I asked why his friends shots were added to my bill. I repeatedly asked him, only for him to act like he couldn't hear me. I will be say nothing but terrible things about this specific bartender, who apparently is the only male bartender in the building.

Yelp
Willis Tower lobby sushi bar with take out. Sitting at the sushi bar is far better experience than the take away line. Amazing hand rolls made to order. Great personal service at the bar, limited seats.

Yelp
I was amazingly surprised at how amazing the sushi was at Sushi-San. Despite it being a weekday and not busy the sushi tasted very fresh and presentation was too notch. The happy hour prices were great as well. The salmon roll with the cilantro was my least favorite but the spicy scallop, spicy tuna, and tako taco were amazing! I loved the staffs sushi hoodies as well as how polite they were. The interior was also relaxing, well kept, and plenty of seating.

Yelp
I tried Sushi-San in the Willis (or as most locals know it, the Sears) Tower food court for lunch today. I purchased a Spicy Sushi roll that came with 8 pieces, soy sauce, ginger and wasabi for $11.95. I thought that the sushi was very good and tasted fresh, but for the price I paid I think there should be more than just 8 pieces, the same meal at most sushi places in the suburbs would cost much less. Overall, I'd recommend if you're really feeling sushi and are in the loop, but can't say I'd go here all the time as it's very expensive for what you get.

Yelp
The sushi is good but Omg the veggies! We tried the crinkled green beans, the broccolini salad, the shishito peppers, and the cauliflower and they were done extremely well. Smoky fire flavors and adequate sauces etc. Loved them all. Con: tables are very tight and close together. Would definitely return next time I'm in chicago! (Get your lettuce loyalty points!)

Yelp
Very mediocre. The lobster sushi was pricy and not even slightly good. Truly some of the worst sushi I've had in the area and the highest prices. The sesame broccolini was the best part of the meal. I'd recommend you avoid it and the obnoxious line at lunch

Yelp
I ate at the hand roll bar and I thought it was so good! I liked the crunchy fatty tuna, I had 2 pieces. The toro was ok but still glad I tried it, just wasn't as flavorful as the crunchy tuna. I liked that the sake bombs were only $6 each! I definitely want to come back next time I visit Chicago.

Yelp
We love getting Sushi-San for lunch on a work day. The food always looks just like the pictures. The Lobster California roll is so good and so is the edamame hummus!
google avatar

Hanine C.

Yelp
The flavor is really good but they use MSG which is unfortunate so I wouldn't return despite it being delicious. If MSG doesn't bother you with symptoms then I'd recommend.

Yelp
The sushi is delicious and pretty filling. I did a pick up order and had to walk around to find where to pick up and their stall is surprisingly large. Chopsticks that came with the rolls were nice. The fish itself is tender. A chef recommended this place for me and I think it's a very good price for the quality.

Mitch T.

Yelp
We love the food, especially the nigiris and the sushi tacos. Service is great! They let us in even if we are a 15 minutes early. Ambiance is good, too.

Yelp
Honestly a slay. I know an avocado roll isn't considered real sushi but listen.. I used to think that too but something about their avocado roll hits different. They also include the crunch inside their roll so there's more texture! I always got it when I was craving sushi but wanted something a little lighter and healthier.

K L.

Yelp
Came in today and they were so kind about my allergy, made sure everything was safe for me to eat and ensured that they made me a fresh roll for my safety. The food was delicious and the staff were so incredibly kind! Definitely will be back it is a great place for lunch when downtown!

Yelp
Sushi-San has finally opened its newest location, featuring a booth inside Willis Tower! The location is great and I love the look of the shop, with its warm wood panels emulating that traditional Japanese aesthetic. Freshly made-to-order sushi rolls are on the menu, with premium ingredients such as otoro and lobster, all set at a very reasonable price point. I ordered the lobster goddess roll, which featured generous chunks of lobster meat, avocado, and cucumber. Great service as well, as I was also kindly offered two complimentary sides--the edamame hummus and broccolini goma-ae. Both consisted of very nice and refreshing flavors and textures, making them perfect pairings with the lobster maki sushi. I will definitely be back and highly recommend for anyone visiting Willis Tower or looking for a good bite in the area!

Yelp
The food was fresh and quick. But there was virtually no salmon in my spicy salmon roll. More like a spicy green onion roll. Bummer.

Yelp
Seriously, this is some of the best sushi I've had in my life. This will be my go to sushi spot in Chicago. I went with a group of friends, and tried a wide variety of their rolls with essentially no bad options. Their edamame is also great appetizer.

Yelp
Went for lunch. Had the bento box and had more than enough food. Also had the exams and it was good. Would recommend anyone join them for lunch.

Yelp
The blonde woman who worked the counter this morning was beyond rude. First, she was irritated that I told her I'm in line because she was about to greet the customer behind me skipping me. Then I said I wanted to order the "Express Lunch" and before I even finished talking she begrudgingly interrupted "We don't do that here!" Rude with zero customer service whatsoever.

Casey T.

Yelp
We had a lovely server, but the sushi was a bit too out-there. The roll I ended up loving the most was just a simple negi hamachi (scallion and yellowtail roll) with yuzu kosho and avocado. The lobster goddess was also great, but there were some rolls with so many ingredients you couldn't really taste them. I liked the yuzu sake bomb, but I also just love yuzu. I did not expect the interior at all. It is styled like a 80's/90's hip hop scene and the music matches. It felt like I was eating at a nightclub. I'm glad we got a small booth and not the high-top bench tables.

Cesar B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, not bad price, sushi was pretty good. Nothing special to be honest, standard sushi joint.
